The new motion photo mode is nice and i know one can make a screenshot from the replay, but it would be nice to have the short video clip available too.
Anyone know where they are stored?
They're stored in the jpg, there will be an app to extract them soon http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/samsung-motion-photo-extractor-t3339997
That will be great Paffpuff... and a big thanks to goofwear...

Ok if u guys want to create some urselves this is how i did it.
Get one of these utube videos, these r gud Link
Then download it using an online converter, i download at hd quality as mp4
Now i used vidcrop to crop the length of the video as well as the resolution.
Then once i exported the video from vidcrop, i used avcutty to dump them as bmp.
Then i used faststone photo resizer to convert them to png's at the same time controlling the quality of the images so they dont end up being 10mb each

we have an idea for a very useful android/mobile application. this application would read a portion of live video captured from the camera. once the portion of the video is read/recognized, it would perform an action based on what it saw/read. does anyone have any direction on components available to pick apart the video? it would need to look for a shape / pattern in the video and extract it.
thanks in advance.
Can you add the video frame share or save button? I'd be happy to have this feature in this player.
You mean, something like taking a screenshot watching a video? You can do that too!

Yes, but with picture size = frame size, w/o GUI etc.

Already been requested on the old forum, and it's been on the list for a while now.
The gallery's auto-playing of the motion picture is driving me nuts as I flip through pictures after a shoot. I'm trying to hone into the details of the final shot to determine which one's I want to post process and publish but I have to wait for the motion to stop. The only work around I've found is to go out of the picture back to the gallery, and dive back into the next picture, and it doesn't auto-play on the first selection. I've looked in the play store for alternative galleries and gave up after testing a few.
I came from the Note 10+ and motion picture didn't play automatically in the gallery. I've started only turning on motion picture for times where I think I need extra frames, but I've already found myself missing some opportunities when I didn't think to turn it on.
Thanks in advance!

There's no option to disable that unfortunately.. It's a feature built directly into the app..

I was also wondering this. It wasn't like this on previous devices, you had to press the Motion Photo button for it to move, not just move by default. So now when I want to show someone a photo it first plays a short video clip instead, makes no sense.
We can disable the auto play.. Check this :

There is way. You need to enable Gallery Labs.

I really like the ability to create thumbnails for your videos by inserting a picture into the same folder as the video and giving it the same name. This is a 2 part post.
Question: What is the exact aspect ratio that the app crops to? This way I can make thumbnails that fit perfectly in the preview.
Request: It would be great if you could pause the video, hit the menu button and in the options was an option to create a thumbnail of the frame you are on with the built in ratio and everything. I know this is a pretty specific feature and I am find with screen capturing and creating my own thumbnails but I figure I would give this a mention.
