Is there a root method for CPB6 6.0.1 marshmallow? My sprint s6 edge updated to 6.0 after a stock flash and cannot put the mods and tweaks I had previously, so until there is a root method my phone stays stock
Download this file, flash via odin then wait for device reboot.

Just flash su 2.68 zip, you have to flash stock recovery or twrp again after flashing that root

Yes sir! Just didn't wait long enough. Thanks!
Thanks. First boot got stuck on splash screen and I didn't wait long enough and flashed stock until a solution, but checked back in on my post and with someone stating same issue and problem resolved, flashed root again and with in a minute or 2 later booted up verifying the root flash! Thanks a lot!! And, doesn't have the annoying red kernel not se android enforcing. This does work for sprint s6 edge 6.0.1 CPB6!

I was able to get rooted w/ TWRP using Odin 3.09.
I followed these instructions, but i did not use the android-armeabi-universal-root-signed.zip, i used a different one I had on my sdcard already. I dont think it matters.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2514821
the first time i attempted it failed and replaced TWRP with the stock recovery because i forgot to un-check the automatic reboot box.
My second attempt i *unchecked automatic reboot,* unplugged the tablet from my computer *before* rebooting it into recovery, worked just fine!
Got TWRP installed just fine, but when I open SuperSU, it says there are no binaries installed.

But Googling your Model #, you have the Note Edge.

There is no root currently for the AT&T SM-N915A Galaxy Note Edge. Some are working on it with the Note 4 and its thought that when the Note 4 does eventually get root, then the process can be applied to the Note Edge.

Yep...
A lot of people have tried and found it works, not just me...
If you plan to root your phone try my way first,as long as bootloaders AREN'T locked then try CF-Autoroot if it doesn't work...
It doesn't do anything that you weren't going to do yourself(Knox will be triggered), except miss out on flashing cf-autoroot, getting an error message and having a heart attack before pulling out the battery and essentially doing what I suggested...

If it is the root method using the exploits that they are currently working on it should work as our device is vulnerable as well. However, if it is a different vulnerability that is exploited, it isn't guaranteed that the root method would work on the Edge.

I am not sure, I was on the latest MM update from Verizon.
My phone got wet a few months back and my NFC has not been able to turn on since. Also, I was also having issues adding fingerprints though I could use fingerprints that were in there before. I thought maybe doing an ODIN flash may help atleast verify it isnt software related.

You always bootloop when downgrading a major version. Have to factory reset in recovery and then you'll be fine.

Sure do. Tried the QE2 and QC7 files in @koop1955 's big post, but both get the same error. I imagine because I'm on S6 Edge, not just S6?
Although, now it looks like he's working on a new rooting method, so maybe I should hang back a bit for now anyway.

First of all, thanks for keeping this fone alive. Quick question: I'm currently on QH1, will this work? Just trying to cover my bases before I try anything...

Thanks, @amieldl143, for the shout out. @baknblack, this should have all that you need: https://forum.xda-developers.com/sp...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862
Flash the TAR file with Odin (there is a how-to video), then root and TWRP and flash this great ROM. Enjoy!

Thanks for this, very helpful. I'm in a similar state from the guy above, currently running Renegade OJ7 v1, my kernel is 3.10.61-S6_UniKernel_v9-0000_beta, baseband version G925PVPU3BOJ7 and TWRP 2.8.7.0 with the most recent version of SuperSU.
My question is: should I bother with updating the kernel as well as flashing the TAR you linked to, or is just the TAR good enough? After that, should I mess with TWRP or leave it alone? Once I get that done, if I'm looking for a clean slate, should I just wipe all partitions and flash the ROM? If you can answer any/all of these it would be hugely helpful for a guy who doesn't do that much flashing and can't swing $800 on the new S8 right now.
Thank you!

I still have my edge and am running this. All I can tell you is you have to update to nougat first (flash the tar I think). It's been a long time since I did it. Once my phone was updated to the new firmware I then installed twrp and flashed the rom. That's about all I can remember. In my case it got hung in a boot loop and I had to flash a second time. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Any chance you can let me know which kernel you're running? I get a lot of lockscreen crashing on my existing one and wondering if there isn't a better one available.
edit: looked and realized there's a kernel included in the zip, my bad! thanks again!
