I'm having an urgent situation, i lost access to my samsung s6!
I was on the middle of an update and i guess something went wrong, the phone rebooted and now is stuck on "Samsung Galaxy S6" Logo" and it doesn't boot.
I made a small video on youtube just to show the problem:

What can i do to solve this? I have no phone and i am desperate.
Thanks in advance!

Provide more info sir! Are you on stock or custom firmware in case you are rooted?

Try to use Smart Switch
Just plug the phone to PC in download mode and rescue it via Smart Switch. It'll download the right firmware for your device and flash it automatically.
Here's how you can do it;
How did it go?

First of all, thanks for the help! i went with the smart switch but i'm stuck on a problem.
it asks me the serial number of the mobile, since i dont have the box with me how can i find out the serial number?
i used the volume up - home - power on button, i went to the recovery mode. wipe data etc doesn't work (i knew this already).
but i went to recovery mode to go into the logs and try to find the serial number. i did find "ro.serialno= xxx"
tried this one but got "invalid serial" ... where can i find the correct one?
lucky me.
Ps. stock original samsung with android 5.1

The easiest solution.. Download the whole correct firmware for your s6 from sammobile or samfirm or whateve and flash it via odin.. It will resume working perfectly. .

Flashing a stock firmware will not void your warranty, unless you Knox has already been tripped IMHO
Sent From my SM-G928F via Tapa
the easiest solution sounded like using smart switch. however since i don't have access to the serial (arggh.. the most simple thing ever) i can't use it.
I am going to try to go with prince mohit advice.
problem 1:
in sammobile.com i can't find firmware for G920F with bootloader G920FXXU3C0I9 (the one i have on my phone)
i have to use this one or can i use other?
on samfirm i found:
- [FULL] Galaxy S6 - G920F | G920FXXU3COI9/BTU | Android 5.1.1 | 12/25/2015
. [FULL] Galaxy S6 - G920F : G920FXXU3COI9/XSE - Android 5.1.1 | 12/25/2015
which one should i go? i am sorry for asking so many questions but i dont want to brick my phone :\

Didnt know there was an ND5. There wasnt even an ND5 when I downloaded the kernel source code from samsung. And nope, There like 2 knox files in the entire firmwares which is just left behind crap I believe. Absolutely does not give you a knox bootloader and crap tho. Do make sure your tablet is a T230NU model and not just a T230 model.
Thanks a lot for this. So if I'm rooted and want to install system updates I would first backup data to sd card via titanium ,(or to pc?) , then factory restore via settings, Odin with this firmware, install updates, then vroot + terminal supersu, then restore backups.... correct? I'm still trying to figure out what bloatware is safe to remove...a guide on how to clean a out of the box tab 4 7.0 would be greatly appricated....
Will this Root my T230NU?
Hi, I am new to the Android market and I was wondering if this "stock" image will root my Samsung Galaxy 4 T230NU.
I am a formerly iDevice owner and I am quite familiar with Jailbreaking.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hello Ed,
I'm kind of new as well however I can tell you that this process will not root it. In my case, because I updated the software I had to use the stock Rom in order to downgrade and then root it. ShinySide explains the.. Rooting procedure in another post
thanks!

I just used these links to download the firmware and they worked great. Mega took 1/3 as much time to pull from as Sammobile. Thank you Shinyside! You are awesome. If I wasn't a broke college kid I'd would def donate.

So I rooted my Tab 4 7" and then decided to switch to Nexus 7 and sell my Tab 4. Both great devices but the specs and updates draw me to try Nexus after the Tab. Anyway, I went to Sammobile to get the Stock rom and inadvertently ended up with the Nook version. OOOPS. Had to reflash but the second firmware I downloaded from Sammobile (at about 1 hour each, ugh) kept failing. Even after wiping the Cache and resetting I could not flash with Odin. Tried placing the image on the SD and installing in Recovery and still no luck. Then I turned to the ONLY source for self support of Android and found ShinySide with the stuff I needed. Downloaded with the Mega link which took 20+ min instead of an hour and it flashed straight away and my Tab 4 is back to being a Tab 4 instead of a Nook. Just wanted to give props to ShinySide for his efforts on behalf of the community and his patience to put up with noobs even when they do/say silly stuff!
Thank you so much!!
Ive been trying to download this file from all these crappy sites and they keep timing out thank you so much.

thank you
HI so i tried installing twrp recovery for my SM-t230NU And it got stuck in bootloop after trying to load custom recovery. Not a single Tar file md5 file worked until i got this rom and USED odin to install it. Odin just kept crashing on me till I got here and used the md5 file provided. It pushed the files while in download mode and rebooted and even still had all my apps and email going.
Again thank you so much and please reply if you have the same device and need help. I thought i bricked my Christmas present.

Any luck i finally got my unbricked after 16 hours of searching.
Hi,
I think i soft-bricked my phone by flashing modem and bootloader in my S6 International 920F phone.
Downloaded 5.1.1 modem and bootloader from this topic and followed the instructions exactly:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-xtrestolite-pure-edition-1-0-beta-1-t3082467
ODIN gave no sign of a failure so after flashing the phone rebooted and now it won't further than the Galaxy S6 bootscreen.
In the top of the screen a message says: "SYSTEM REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 2 BINARY: 1"
I've searched already for a solution but i can't find a specific.
Anyone who can help me please?

Dear people of the internet,
I am proud to represent the few countries that remain untouched regarding the OTA update on the SM-G920F.
I'm wondering since I've not gotten the update, if I could flash it and it would be like a normal Over The Air update process?
I do not want to trip the Knox counter since I'd like to sell the phone in the future or just be covered by my warranty.
So. TLR, Can I get the 6.0.1 update like OTA but flashing it? Will it void my warranty? Will it trip knox counter? Will it automatically
become rooted(something I don't want)?
I've heard some people getting fail in Odin(hidden.img), how can I prevent that if I do flash it?
Thanks in advance

usually flashing a stock rom via odin does not trip your knox, except if then you flash a custom rom and then install superSU.. btw YES, if you flash MM via odin will work as an "OTA"
I tried to flash stock to my s6 and it failed and the knox counter went up so voided the warranty it's a brand new phone not happy wanted three stock on the phone now it's not covered not amused tbh can't even root the phone tried pingpong root failed android l knew what I was trying to do . So yes even if u flash with odin the counter will go up I wouldn't risk it tbh

Thank you, I won't flash because of you.
Personally it's up to you but flashing a stock rom won't trip Knox. I flashed a stock FW to remove bloat and everything was absolutely fine.
I'll be flashing a stock 6.0.1 as soon as I can actually find one on here.

Cheers for future updates dude but I was doing some chores anyway so I just waited
Just powered up from the update, like the new ui, no visible problems so far :good:
---------- Post added at 01:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:58 AM ----------
So to answer the previous question,
1. Download the French XEF rom, extract the rare file to somewhere you can find it.
2. Fire up Odin on your PC.
3. Click on the AP setting and select your extracted file.
4. Put your phone in download mode and connect it to your pc via USB.
5. Wait for your phone to be recognised and press start in Odin.
6. Wait until Odin is completely finished and your phone reboots, this takes a while, don't panic just wait patiently.
7. Disconnect from PC and enjoy.
My phone is the SM-G920F variety, which I had previously debranded from 3 mobile.
I put the language setting to French for the update and switched it back after, no idea if this was important, just read some guy said he did it in another thread. I doubt it's necessary.

Did you do a factory reset before updating? Did you backup anything, and if so, how can I do that?
You didn't have to do anything with a pit file?

I already posted every step I took from beginning to end.
There weren't any hidden steps, I didn't factory reset, I didn't flash any other files. I lost no data and I'm still on BTU.
I'm sorry, but, do I need to download the French version?
It's unbranded.
It's makes no difference at all, just change the language back to whatever afterwards. I'm in the UK and it works flawlessly.
My rooted Samsung Galaxy On5 (sm-g550t) is stuck on the black and white SAMSUNG logo boot screen, up at the top left in red is the message : "Custom binary blocked by FRP lock".
I cannot boot into recovery at all, but I CAN boot into download mode, and when connect it to a PC where Odin can "see" it. So that's good I guess.
Things I have tried so far:
1. Reflashing TWRP - FAIL IN ODIN (it worked before!)
2. Downloading new recovery from here and flashing in ODIN. FAIL IN ODIN (https://idlekernel.com/flash-tools/firmware/on5ltetmo_SM-G550T/G550TUVU1APF1/)
3. Recovery in KIES (does not accept my s/n and model combo)
This happened after I tried to partition the drive for use with the Marshmallow "adoptable storage" using directions from this web page.
http://www.modaco.com/news/android/...e-adoptable-storage-on-your-s7-s7-edge-r1632/
I DID do an nandroid backup before all of this happened, but without recovery mode it won't do me much good.
1. Any suggestions. 2. does anyone have the stock firmware tar that I can flash in odin to see if it works? Sammobile does not have firmware for the SM-G550t, sadly.

2 questions:
i read that Odin requires .md5 or .tar - are these roms which are found within the zip files .md5 or .tar?
i only see Stock ROMS from Thailand or China - does this matter?

Usually the stock .tar firmwares are uploaded as a .zip to make the file smaller, extract it and you should have a .tar.md5 or a .tar, if it's .tar then you may have to extract that also to get to the .tar.md5.
Yes, typically the region matters due to differences in networks in each region.

I've looked everywhere and haven't found anything on rooting for the 930az. Found an xda rep that said his root or the root he got if from was for all s7 . Followed the instructions step by step till I reached flashing ,then my phone got stuck in a bootloop .luckily I found a post on the inputs of Oden to return to stock but I'm still persistent on finding a root for it please help!!!

When you say flashing, fhalsing what exactly got you the bootloop? Was it flashing the engineering Boot.img through Odin or the fix S7 zip through Flashfire... Or something else?
I don't have a Cricket branded S7, but always offering to help you research.

Only a few things I can think to ask:
1) You are using the Odin version by PrinceComsy... not the original version of Odin?
2) When you download the engineering boot image, you're downloading it for your phone model (S7 for S7, S7 Edge for the S7 Edge)? Maybe you accidentally downloaded the wrong one?
3) When uploading the boot image through Odin, the boot image TAR file is in the AP slot of Odin?
4) Last thing I can think is easy, is the boot image is still a TAR file correct? Its not a ZIP or any other file extension?
Have you tried downloading the image again? I invite you to check out a thread I'm part of if you want another location to download the S7 engineering boot image, that thread located here and the boot image file can be downloaded directly from here

Yes and I tried the original also

Correct s7 for s7
3) When uploading the boot image through Odin, the boot image TAR file is in the AP slot of Odin?
Yes
4) Last thing I can think is easy, is the boot image is still a TAR file correct? Its not a ZIP or any other file extension?
I made sure it was still a tar file.
Thanks for your help I'll check it out

You're welcome, just trying to figure it out. Though I see this is a common thing, so I wonder what is different with the Cricket version?
And you're rooting the Nougat version of the phone? This seems to be a topic floating around with no one explaining it. I've tried looking to see if maybe the processor might be somehow a "reduced" version of the 820 compared to the others... but everything makes it look like it should work.
Only other thing I would say is go back through all the steps, and make sure you're not accidentally skipping one. I did that a bunch of times when I first started off. I ended up printing off instructions and making note edits. Took me a few different sets of instructions until I found a formula that worked for my G930P

I'm sorry no we haven't received the update yet I'm still on 6.0.1. Do you mean like mixing up the steps and finding which worked with your phone?

Oh I'll have to go back and do some rereading then, because I thought I saw some websites saying that phone was already on Nougat. If you're still on MM this should be easier I would think... hmmm
For me, it took me about 4 or 5 different threads of talking about how they rooted their Sprint S7 phone, for me to find the right instructions for myself to root my phone. But I know along the way I would miss a step, then my phone wouldn't boot or bootloop like yours. That's why I went back and printed out instructions and checked off to make sure I didn't skip anything. After awhile I could wrap my head around it.
Just saying we are all human, so it's easy to skip a step. Though it doesn't seem like you're the only one having this problem. But if all the branded US phones are pretty much rooted one way or another, I don't see why yours would be any different.

Your probably right I'll try those steps again and see if anything changes. The only model I see that's close to g930az would be the at&t which is g930a. I know I got lucky with the last attempt to try with it in soft brick. I just don't want to try to many and it be completely screwed. Because on cricket you have to buy all of you phones up front well at least I had to with mine. I'll try it again and let you know if it worked or I have a paper weight haha. Thanks again

With following the steps you are and what you have happening, you should be OK with being able Odin back to factory firmware.
Yeah Cricket is kind of the double edge sword, you have to buy the phone up front, but they have CHEAP prices for good service. I had them when I first moved to Arizona and would have kept them, if I didn't travel so much.
Report back if anything changes.

Do you have the stock firmware and Odin? Flash that will get you back to stock and functional. Does take awhile to flash the full imagine, but can pretty much fix any software brick issues.

By default the phones are locked so someone can't steal your phone and Reimage it. If you boot your phone up after trying to flash do you get an FPR or some sort of error like that?

I would recommend going to sammobile or updato to get the firmware for your phone. Sounds like you have the wrong model. If you need help I can help in an hour or so when I get home.
