MTK6592 + !!!MT6290!!! Android 5.1.1 (Elephone P3000s)

Hey Guys,
I need your ******* help!
I am porting AICP for the Elephone, which works very well but the ****ty modem doesn't work.
If you start the phone, it wont ask for any PIN for the sim-cards, it knews, that this device have two slots but both are empty. IMEI is unknown also the baseband.
I found out later, that the Elephone have a modem processor (MT6290) which seems to handle everything about GSM and rest.
I tried to make a Emergency Call but the Dialer went black (probably because there is nothing to communicate).
It seems to be that I have to implement the MT6290 with the custom ROM but I don't know how or where I should start :/
I really need help, I please everyone for help. I wanna do this!
Best Regards
Pascal
#################################
Couple infos:
Modem of AICP ends with 1_wg_n.img
Modem of STOCK ends with 5_lwg_n.img
Baseband seems do be saved in /etc/mddb
I tried to restore the IMEI/NVRAM with:
- MobileUncle Tools => FAILED
- MTK Droid Tools => FAILED
- TWRP => FAILED
- Copy-Paste => FAILED
- imei.exe => FAILED
- MAUI META => FAILED (CDC Driver code 10)

If you had searched up a bit on Google, you'd have come up with this... Which clearly says that you need to clean everything up (the .flashTool folder), uninstall Flashtools and install it again. I always recommend using the 0.9.18.6 version to avoid compatibility issues with this device.

Introduction
If you want to put root and TWRP on your device then you have to commit to this as there is no going back from Alcatel to Vodafone firmware after this unless someone uses the scatter file for this device to perform a readback (SP Flash Tool, search: Hovatek how to make a full backup of your stock ROM using sp flash tool, however, the dev blocks should be gathered straight from the scatter file, not MTK droid tools. Will update this if this happens it is successfully conducted by someone ) This little corner of XDA will show you how to:
Flash Alcatel Firmware
Install Custom Recovery (TWRP/CTR)
Root with SuperSU
Install one custom ROM (Cyanogen MOD 13)
NOTE: I will NOT teach you how to install drivers if you need to do that go to https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-440.html (If you are running Windows 7 and up you need to disable 'Driver Signature Verification', this link will show you how to do it: https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-752.html
If you can't figure out how to that by yourself (everything is a google search away) then you shouldn't even attempt any of this.
All files will be on AndroidFileHost
If you want to download all the files for all the tutorials, then you can download the complete package which has everything required for the tutorials (except for drivers of course)

I have questions......
Since Google keeps crashing me out of apps and breaking my brightness control to send me ads and try to get me to install experimental zombies this past month, I'm keen to try this on my VFD501 Vodafone Smart Turbo 7 but.....
Does the initial step have to be Alcatel? I only ask because my SIM is 2 Degrees and I don't know if it'll work with it as it's a bit sketchy while it's still thinking it's a Vodafone.
Is the second step the ONLY rom it'll work with? How far can the hardware be pushed or more efficient?
Lastly, would I still be able to get updates for the usual app suspects? I'm getting further into Minecraft now there's online server games and I'm not finding any options for updates other than through the Play Store. I also watch quite a bit of YouTube on it (another Google aquisition). Would these be denied me by the EvilCorp™ once I free my phone from it's clutches and get rid of Google Movies, Google Mail, Google other bloatware aside from Books where I have several and would like to keep reading them?
HIe, when can we get the custom rom.looks great.
Do you still have the mixed Spanish English rom?
Could you post that please if you still have it? When i installed the cyanogenmod after flashing to alcatel after locking the screen and turning it on again it won't render properly anymore, i just see random lines. Thank you in anticipation!
guys, please can anyone make a backup (TWRP)of stock ROM with /system /data /FRP /protect /boot ? with any google account please.
i want to unlock FRP on my vfd500, i gorgot my google account on this phone so i cant go pass setup wizzard, thanks

So far you have to flash Alcatel to do any modding whatsoever, however, I may have a solution so we can get root on VFD 500 running Vodafone stock but not VFD 501 (however I'm begging my friend to borrow his to do a Miracle Box Backup so fingers crossed :silly: so I can get the 501 version of the Vodafone OS) if the solution works I will release a video on it, if you want to know if you have to flash Alcatel for custom ROMs yes you need Alcatel for the ROMs there is currently no ROMs for this device, and I don't know how to make and edit ROMs just gonna put that out their

Solved now using this rom and instructions.
Can't post links so google - Download Vodafone Stock Rom for all models - Android MTK and look for VFD500 in the list
The driver tool uninstalled lots of drivers i think this may have helped it use the "MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM Port" which allowed it to write to the phone. Took about 10-15 mins to boot afterwards, I thought it was stuck but just a slow phone

Vodafone_Smart_Turbo_7_VFD500 - RR 7.1 ROM + TWRP 3.0.2 + SP Flash Tool + VFD500_ROM
Hi!
I get a Vodafone_Smart_Turbo_7_VFD500 phone bricked and was very dificult to find a working rom, there are a few that boot but after locking the phone screen goes mad...
I fixed a RR rom, still not perfect but is better.
One kwon issue is charging with phone off, screen stays white and on...
I Let here a link with:
SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1916_Win
SP_USB_Win7_Drivers ( Copy to Desktop and execute the shortcut)
Vodafone_Smart_Turbo_7_VFD500_MT6735M_V2.39.1_21122016_6.0 ROM to flash with SP Tool
open_gapps-arm-7.1-nano-20191029.zip
RR-N-v5.8.5-PIXI4_5_4G.zip (Fixed) Rom
TWRP3.0.2-0_VDF500.img Recovey (Use SP Tool with MT6735M_Android_scatter.txt from Vodafone ROM to flash it)
To use SP tool, first install the drivers then open SP tool, search for MT6735M_Android_scatter.txt file. To install full Vodafone ROM click in Download only and select Format All + Download then Download key above and plug USB, to install TWRP unselect all and only select recovery and click in location field, search for TWRP, click in download from above and plug USB ( If faild with error you need to flash all Vodafone ROM first).
After all this, use TWRP to flash RR Rom then Gapps.

Soft Brick After Trying to Flash Latest Stock Nougat Firmware via Flashtool

Hello XDA, longtime reader, first time poster.
I tried flashing a custom ROM the other day, but something went wrong, and I now have a device that bootloops (unlocked screen, SONY logo, followed by a "the software update failed" message). I think the cause of all of this came from a few missing drivers that Flashtool/Windows 7 didn't install properly. I'm not sure if this matters, but this happened after trying to update to the latest stock nougat firmware (downloaded via Xperifirm) from a custom 6.0.1 ROM.
I went through as many solution threads as possible, but I'm still having trouble. The last thing I did just before this post was create an ftf via Flashtool, added "41.fsc" script when asked, prepared flash with full wipe/no exclusions, connected phone to USB via Flash Mode, selected F83XX when prompted for device, and this was the log I received...

Otherwise, if none of that matters and the problem lies somewhere else, I'm all ears.

@simpleflips
wow - your post should stand out as a prototype for HOW TO ASK FOR HELP!
I had the same problem recently when trying to flash my F8331 under Windows 10. Did not try Linux on the same machine since there are some issues with Mono here.
My drivers where not giving me any clues (PC-Manager, logging under Windows?).
So I dug out my spare laptop (Win 7 bitness?): installed the XZ-driver and it worked there after a full wipe in TWRP (I had encrypted the device and TWRP did not take the key properly).
You can try the drivers I link in my Guide.
Under both Windows installations I had no problems with adb and fastboot.
So I can only guess that my "solution" was the full wipe or some unkwon differences in driver magic between the notebooks used.
@DHGE
Apologies for the delay, thank you for the words and response. I should've noted that before my OP and bootloop, I tried to flash the custom Nougat ROM via TWRP, but got an error. (Zip file is corrupt! Error installing zip file '/sdcard1/[rom].zip') (Tested after transferring the file via AirDroid, don't remember if I even downloaded directly from my phone.) Now if I run a full wipe through TWRP and re-flash the original 6.0.1 ROM that's in my microSD, it *does* install, but bootloop still exists. I tried wiping/flashing the custom ROM via fastboot out of curiosity, and received the following:
wipe (entered bootloader mode from my Downloads folder, where the ROM is found)
C:\Users\[name]\Downloads>fastboot -w
Erase successful, but not automatically formatting.
Can't determine partition type.
FAILED (status read failed (Too many open files in system))
Erase successful, but not automatically formatting.
Can't determine partition type.
FAILED (command failed (Invalid argument))
erasing 'userdata'...
FAILED (command write failed (No such device or address))
finished. total time: 0.020s
(Afterward, I get a message saying fastboot.exe has stopped working. Not on Minimal ADB, though.)
flash
C:\Users\[name]\Downloads>fastboot update [rom].zip
'archive does not contain 'android-info.txt' ,
error: update package '[rom].zip' has no android-info.txt
Do these errors relate with each other? Was my file just not downloaded properly?
Regarding the drivers, I downloaded the official Xperia XZ ADB interface driver (Sony sa0115) from SONY's website, and installed via Device Manager, but get the Code 10 Error mentioned in OP. According to some user posts, the solution was changing their phone's USB configuration to MIDI, afterward Windows would properly detect and install the Sony sa0115 driver. (I reckon that's not possible on a soft bricked device, is it...?) No devices are found after entering adb devices in command prompt, so I'm going to presume installing/flashing anything via ADB is out of the question. Right now, Device Manager shows 2 devices-- One of them being the actual XZ when connected in fastboot mode (labeled "Android Phone"), the other being the Sony sa0115 driver I downloaded/installed. The trick now is mounting the two together.
At this point, fastboot/TWRP seem to be the only way out of this. The custom ROM notes that no kernel flashing is necessary, but your guide includes a link to the AndroPlus kernels (for stock, and other roms, I take it). Unfortunately, until I figure out how to properly flash the firmware via Flashtool, AndroPlus will have to wait. (Unless there's a way to find out what firmware my phone is using right now.) The next option is to directly send the custom 7.1.1 ROM from my PC to the microSD card, but I can't find my SD card adapter right now, so I'll update later this week.

Unfortunately this is not a way out. And what you wrote above sounds rather weird for me...
The only way out is to flash a SONY ROM properly. THE tool for this is flashtool.
There are some mentions of SONY's recovery tool(s?) but last time I tried one I could not get it to work. Flashtool to my rescue.
Maybe you can take your phone to a qualified repair shop and they flash you a SONY ROM.
