Do you find the shutter speed for this phone is way too slow? The delay from shutter pressed till the photo saved is like ~2-3sec if the camera is activated for the first time. Although subsequent photos are faster. Anyone facing the same issue??

well my 820 is only a month old and is running Amber- only the autofocus takes a bit time 1-2 seconds, but not more than that. try using some lenses. Blink from MS is really fast.

I have found a new method in which you can partially solve the bugs associated with cm 10.1 for ace plus. This method is only tested in Techkang roms. With this trick,you can avoid the delay while taking photos, as well as fix the autofocus partially.The trick is:
First install
CameraZoom fx, it is a paid software,but you can find its cracked versions by simply searching google..
Now open the app,in the settings button(bottom right corner),set autosave on.
Set focus mode to second option,if you need to take photos always by autofocus.
Set focus mode to first option if you need to take photos instantly without autofocus. You will notice no delay when this option is selected.
If you are using first option in focus mode to take photos, never prefocus that is dont try to touch screen to focus, always press the shutter button.If you prefocus by touching screen,the app gets stuck.You need to reboot your device to fix that.
The only problem with this app is that it takes some time to load,unlike other camera applications.

I am using cm 10.1 techkang rom with 2.6 kernel.. Here usb charging works.. The only bug is camera flash, we can only use torch app.. Video recording also works using camera jb+..
I read this somewhere that we can use whatsapps camera app to take photos ....I have been using it and it gives only around 2 sec delay to take photos and the photos come out clear too
The stock camera crashes when I:
-enable RAW
-select slow shutter
-select a shutter speed of 2, 4 or 8s in camera settings
The annoying part is that I have to reboot every time to fix the camera as it seems to be unable to connect again after crashing. Is there any way to fix this without rebooting? There is a play store app but it doesn't work.

Any tweaks to the device other than stock?
I'm just curious...if stock users are having trouble, or is it just the tweakers?
Have you tried a factory reset? And as above, any mods or running 100% stock?
Rooted with stock rom and stock kernel. Clearing the camera cache doesn't help.
I'll try a factory reset as some users don't seem to have the bug.
I've noticed that too. I've also noticed two more things:
- 4k UHD + RAW = bad time. As soon as I hit record it gives me a black screen, I stop the recording and it freezes. I have to force close the camera app to be able to do anything with it again. Oddly enough, 4k DCI works fine.
- Slow-mo video + RAW = choppy. The video seems to be playing back at a super low frame rate. Everything seems to have a lot more motion blur too.
Using raw any time there is low light results in camera crash as well

rooted, with stock everything. after taking 8 sec slow shutter, when saving it lags, then black screen then crash. then when i reopen all the menu still there but black screen. anything i do from there it will just crash.

I am using a lava pixel v1 that has a very poor shutter speed which doesnt have settings as well and also very poor autofocus speed and after clicking the capture button the camera takes almost a second or even more to actually capture the image. is there any way out? I tried different camera apps other than the google camera which is the default however there is no improvement at all.
Only the preinstalled camera is compatible with that camera. So other apps will not work or may face problems because of compatibility issues.
The camera was working fine until I updated to android 7.0. Every time I open the camera app it immediately crashes. Other camera apps seem to be working fine but the default camera app crashes. Has anyone else had this issue after the Nougat update? I tried resetting the phone and also clearing the cache with no luck.
I have the same problem too. It also affects snapchat, I cant open snaps. I also noticed that it deleted picture and music off of my g5. And I cannot record in the voice record app.
I have this issue too..... video recording is not working in camera and it's taking simple photo from camera app...... other feature like manual camera and pop out makes camera app stopped.
