From what I've seen all it can do is track the phone and show it on a map, wipe and trigger the phone to make a noise in order to find it, Cerberus can do both of those plus like 10+ more so i would rather pay like 2 euros for a lifetime license

Like I meant this is google, cerberus was out for ages therefore they had time for development. Things that are implemented and sp3cially from the maker of the os we running is always better then a 3 rd party. Well mostly.

Goolgle and ADM delay
For now, it seems Android Device Administrator (ADM) is limited to a checkbox in the Device Administrators menu of our smart phones. The web interface and android app do not show up until now. So it is better uncheck to avoid any possible issue that could affect the phones.

Yeah. It hasn't rolled out to all devices. It seems like you dont have full access even though some references to it are there. Heres a thread with more details

I already have activated the app. All is ok: in the account and also in my phone (green icon, google settings). My problem was that I believed that this ADM app was going to be like AVAST (with rooted phones, that do not need to turn on manually the GPS settings).
With this google ADM app must be always activated the GPS in a permanently manner.
We need to have always present that GPS doesn't use any data. It uses the 31 GPS satellites to determine the phone's position only, which is not a "data" connection at all. What uses the data is the app that is using the GPS (in this case the ADM).
Thank you very much for your help. This forum is wonderful, every day we learn many things. Nobody knows everything.
With kind regards,

No, cyanogenmod does not have google apps. For more info: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps
Even if they don't use google apps, they have their own spyware. For more how to secure your device see this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/security/tuto-how-to-secure-phone-t2960077

Then, I suggest you to be patient. There will be some news soon.
try AFWall Donate version, XPrivacy, AppOps, MyAndroidTools Pro, ChatSecure, Orbot, Network Connections or Network Log App in playstore, override DNS app, SD Maid, Firefox browser...these are all good apps known for supporting end-user privacy or for strong root level management of your system. It really depends on what type of "secure" youre interested in. Android is relatively secure security-wise, but privacy-wise, not so much... actually in its default state, not at all, especially with google inside. Knowing your settings, and config, almost any ROM can be secure.

If you are willing to switch to a Nexus 5 we (Graphite Software) have posted a ROM (Secure Spaces) that allows you to create a separate space (virtual phone) where you can easily configure the settings (enable and disable a number of attributes - bluetooth , networking, adb, etc). Also you can remove the Google Play apps in this personal or hidden space, but allow the owner space to still have Google Apps if you want. This new space is encrypted using ecryptfs and also has pid namespaces enabled in the kernel, plus some additional security features. You can push apps into this space to limit their access to the owner space , or you can think of this space as a private space where maybe you launch only a banking app for example.

All I can say is do what I did. Check them out. Read, follow instructions, experiment. Android may come shipped with some functionalities disabled but the capability is there...in a major way. You just have to take the time to learn. Familiarize yourself with settings, apps, services, device signals.
I have a Chinese Honor 8 and have installed Google on it. Everything works fine but I cannot access the Google settings page. I know its there because I seen it pop up once asking if I want to enable Android Device manager.
Any idea how I can access it? When I go to accounts -> google and click on it, nothing happens.

Google settings has a separate app icon nowadays.
Hope so that it got hidden in any app groups. You need to check in the app groups.
If all the google apps will be inside any app group (Folder like thing). It might be inside that.

There's no icon for it, I checked everywhere.
On my other phones on Android 6 I must go to the Google account and the settings opens when you click on it. On this phone, nothing happens.

Yes of course. Everything works perfect and I know the Google settings app is there because it asked me something about device manager and I saw the Google settings. But there is no way for me to access it by myself.

Too lazy Anyway I found a workaround solution using the app QuickShortcutMaker. You can choose Google Play Services there and the created shortcut opens google settings.

Try with searching the settings by swiping downwards in home screen...
Let us know the result. So that we can get a clear idea on the thing.
Also thanks for mentioning the app name to do the workaround.

First thing I tried was the search, it couldn't find it. I spent literally an hour looking through the phone for a way to access the google settings. Using that app to create the shortcut was the only thing that worked.
Your probing for the solution and posting the solution for it will be useful for future people. Thank you...
Hello,
First, sorry if my English is bad. It's actually not my first language.
To achieve this you need to
1. Remove the sim card from your phone
2. Use a VPN in order to connect to Korean Server
3. Clear Galaxy Store Data & Cache
4. go to Galaxy Store and now you will be on Korean Galaxy store.
You can download Good Lock and its plugins, Samsung One Font, etc.
(PS. The method seems to work also with Google Play Store)
Can you please guide which vpn app used? I'm trying many apps, no one shows option for Korea (few other countries only).

I use OpenVPN Connect with EasyOvpn plugin
I tried this method and it works. However, after I inserted back my sim card it reverted back to my country's galaxy store version.

You just need to open EasyOvpn and choose korean server it will redirect to OpenVpn and ask you to import profile.
ExpressVPN is also working

Yes. I think that Galaxy Store try to detect the country with sim card. So you need to do this everytime you want to update or install something with Korean Galaxy Sotre

You have turned on Google Basic Service in device Settings? Uber requires GMS to work, which is why it won't work on Huawei devices that use HMS.

Just open Settings. There is a search bar at the top. Type "Basic Google Services". Turn it on.

Don't just check each item to be denied (ie Google Play Services), push the toggle on for each subservice that appears under the item when you select it. Do the same for your banking and Uber apps.
