I purchased a nexus 5 from text now and decided to move my phone to tmobile. However every time i made a call the text now app dials for me. I uninstalled the text now app and now I cant make calls. I tried installing a dialer from the app store but still cant dial keeps asking for a default app and when I pick one it just goes back to the same screen without dialing.
Any suggestions?
Flash a complete factory image using fastboot. That'll return the device to like new stock, it'll wipe the device so backup anything you want to keep first.

I recently got the copy and paste bug for the Galaxy S Verizon. it was driving me crazy so I decided to root. I did a backup and then I attempted to fix it. The fix worked but then I had a whole other problem. Now whenever I make or receive a call, the screen goes blank and I get the error com.android.phone has stopped. Then my signal goes away and I have to reboot to get it back. I have search multiple forms and found that facebook sync can cause it, as well as some other third party apps with access to your contacts. I do not have a facebook and I have tried to unlink and unsync everything with no luck. Does anyone have any ideas?

So i originally had my phone rooted, but after a couple months of having my phone bother me about updating, i decided to do it. Needless to say, I lost root. I was planning on rooting it again, but my phone got knocked out of my hand and fell, cracking the screen and making it useless (no more touch and screen won't power on). So now i'm trying to pull my contacts and my text messages from the phone, but since it's not rooted, I can't figure out a way to do it. Also, i tried going through adb, but it keeps saying "device not found", even though my phone still powers up and works (I can tell because I keep getting text messages and my phone rings. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get my information off the phone and on my pc? I've also tried using 'MyPhoneExplorer', but it can't find my phone either.
Your contacts will be backed up to your Google Account, but not your texts unfortunately

I've used this app for years:
SMS Backup and Restore
It doesn't back up MMS though (picture messages). You can manually save any pics sent to you via text to your SD card using every text app I've seen, including the stock ones. That said, I suspect by now there are apps that will back up MMS.
Looks like the stock Messaging app can save text messages as well....
The phone came with Smart Contacts as well as the stock LG Dialer. I prefer to use the stock one, but calls are being logged in Smart Contacts instead of the stock app. I tried deactivating Smart Contacts, but the logs still aren't showing up in the stock app. Any suggestions?

I had to use titanium backup to remove it. Freezing it should work as well. I think I probably should have done that to most apps as my update is failing now. May have to sideload it, or something.
good luck!
Thanks man. It actually eventually resolved itself. A simple reboot worked wonders. It's just annoying that we have to jump through these hoops.

Hi, I've lost my Nexus 5 in a taxi, now It's off, gps is off and data is off, I just want to know, If someone finds my phone, and restore it to stock, can I still see my phone in device manager for a period of time ? If someone delete my google account from the phone I won't see it again in device manager ? Thanks !
Factory reset will delete all data and accounts

Nope. Google device manager is technically pointless I'm afraid. Even if it's pin locked, someone can swipe down and disable data so it still wouldn't work. It's far too flawed

So, I've been having the issue of MMS showing as the time I download it, rather than the time I received it. This is a problem because sometimes I will be sent a regular text or 2 about said MMS message, but when I download it changes the time to received instead of sent.
I thought I had it solved by using my factory app to download MMS, this worked flawlessly on my old device, but that one was so old you didn't need to pick a default app and cut off full function to the other like you do now...
So I just wondered if there's a way, either via a third party app, or just manually (I'm a rooted user) to go in and just change the time on these MMS messages the odd time I need to?
I don't leave my data on, I don't have a heavy data friendly plan.
I love the app I use with all the customizing and theming possible. That's the only issue I'm having with it...
I did try telling it to turn on my data to download the message and then turn it back off. There is a setting for that, in my factory app and this one. Problem is it doesn't actually work in either app...
Any help other than telling me to switch apps would be appreciated
I'm running a rooted galaxy s7
