I had the same problem in the beginning. The simple solution: I still had an "old" SIM card, which was not capable of 3G. A simple request to my provider, and he sent me a new one (same tel number, no contract change / renewal) at no cost.

thank u but my sim card is 3g , i tried it into blackberry and it shows 3g
maybe this will help
go to start > settings > phone
then click on BAND tab and make sure the network type is set to WCDMA and the second drop down box has AUTO selected.
and press ok.
The phone should now look for the 3G network. Make sure you rem that if you are not in 3G network, your phone wont auto shift to Edge network, you would have to go back to the top steps and select GSM instead of WCDMA.
Hope this helps. If this doesn't work I bel there's some prob in the hardware or sim or the damn network itself !!!

I have the same problem and i've tried radio 1.14.25.35 for at&t and with the same version for the rilphone.dll. i did find out that the version of the phone i have may be an issue. Raph100 (under the battery) EU 07/09/08 REV.EU01 (bottom left corner) under battery cover. I tried enabling hsdpa and hsupa. no help. i am using Energy.RAPHAEL.23563.Sense2.5.GTX.Themed.Apr.24 ROM. and i max at 50 kbps.

I've got a problem with 3G connection. According to specifications, it should be compatible with WCDMA frequencies.
But when I put my sim card to slot 1, I can only choose TD-SCDMA mode. When putting it to slot 2, I can choose WCDMA but there's still no 3G (I think slot 2 is only 2G).
When going to engineer menu, I see that WCDMA frequencies are checked for SIM1 when 3G is enabled on SIM2, which is really useless. When 3G is enabled on SIM1, it changes to TD-SCDMA.
I don't know how to enable 3G on this phone. It seems to be a limitation of the ROM (or baseband ?).
Have you got any idea ?

I picked up a GooPhone X1 too, but it doesn't even recognize either SIM card slot. Email support claimed that their phones are incompatible with T-Mobile SIM cards, but I think what he meant was that only pentaband phones can access the 1700 MHz frequency that T-Mobile uses to transmit 3G and 4G data. Otherwise you are limited to 2G data.
And unfortunately, it looks like my phone is just broken.

Very odd , isnt it!
Its a new phone and I suspect we will be waiting a while until a rom with the proper activation of non chinese radio bands appears.
The hardware is obviously capable.
If someone has a stand alone MTK 6589 radio for another similar phone, it might be worth trying to flash the radio alone

You can try engineering mode either via mobile uncle mtk tool from google play store
or you can access it by dialing *#*#3646633#*#*
There are a lot of options to thinker with the GSM modem .
I have a x1.. I cant remember my password so cant acess anything!! Please help.. its ok if hard reset but I want the phone working!!! It refuses to go into cwm if I press the vol+ & power button! Please post adb drivers to use fladhtool

Hi all, did anyone successfully enable (switch) the WCDMA frequency on a TD-SCDMA phone through hahomir4ev's method???
Any suggestion would be helpful!!!
I got xiaomi mi4 from mainland China to India. Here I cannot connect to 3g but my sim is connecting to 3g on other phones. I also tried different networks not working. Please someone help me out.

Have you made sure you have the APN set up correctly??
Also check the Mi4 supports the 3G frequency that your network runs on.

i checked the apn it is ok and the frequencies match to.but wen i try putting the phone in wdcdma only the option doesn't get selected .so i selected Lte/wcdma it says no service.please help me out.

That's strange, I didin't have to select any option at all. It worked on O2 network in UK straight out of the box after I set the APN.
I can post a screenshot of my network settings soon if you want, my Mi4 is charging at the moment.
I dnt know what the problem is please help me.

Try another providers SIM card.
Edit: Just read you already did that.

Hmmm, try this;
Settings > Mobile Networks > [Change to 3G/2G]
Just to see if it'll work in the phone, seeing as the SIM works, maybe it's the phone.
Then try;
Settings > About Phone > "Tap" Internal Memory 5 Times > Phone Information > [Change Preferred Network] (Reboot)
Let me know if these things work, also let me know your provider and if you setup your APN info correct.

Oh, lol, also. On AT&T I have my preferred network set as [GSM Auto] and that works fine for me.

I am facing the same issue . When i try to change preffered network type as wcdma in phone information and reboot it automatically changes to default one. Rest all settings are fine . Please help.

You don't need to reboot, just save the settings. AFAIK.

I tried to save it. but how to save it. there is just option of selecting preferred network type as WCDMA preffered in Phone Information but it does not get saved. And in the mobile network setting i have already selected preffered network type as 3g. but it doesnt work.

there are more versions of 3g ... there is a 3g china and than 3g unicom that should be identical with the 3g in europe ...
also there are 2 versions of LTE too ... am afraid you picked the wrong package there mate :/
google it that kind of 3g technology you use !!! and what is supported in your country

It still doesnt work. i have tried every setting. in preffered mobile network type and also in phone information.
I get 3g signals well in my other phone. I am helpless. Please suggest a solution to this.

could you provide a link to the exact version of the phone you buyed? As mentioned before, there are different versions for different basebands around.

hi I use TDD-MI4-CMCC version with 2gb RAM. Also I want to catch basebands signals of WCDMA but my phone seems to be locked with TD-SCDMA signals. it catches GSM signals well but not WCDMA signals.

well now that I have confirmed I have TD-LTE/SCDMA version of MI4. is there any workaround or any way out to unlock other basebands.
I am in india where WCDMA works not SCDMA.
please help , life has become vulnerable without 3g.

I bought it in china but at home the 3G is not working. I read that TD-LTE phone will not work outside of China only FDD-LTE.

if it is. how to flash the correct baseband for my F350L?

I see that you are from Manila and using a F350L please check supported bands by your network and the supported bands of F350L if they are compatible.
i did check it and it is same bands use here. there are f350L users here with no problems using their 3G connection.
My F350L is LTE-8 other F350L are LTE-A. I suspect that this two have different band
I am having the same Problem up here in Ohio
No matter what I try I can not seem to get this phone to do anything besides just G I am running the F350S on AT&T

I put the Checkmarks on the bands that AT&T Supports. But I am still only getting G

Hi folks, I am Nigerian and I use an LG G Pro (D838). Some days back i noticed that i had no network on my phone so I tried inserting another sim into the device and still got the same result but other devices around had network coverage. I changed the network mode to GSM only and got 2G but WCDMA only gives me nothing. I have tried other sims on GSM only mode and got 2G but when i change the mode to WCDMA only, i get nothing at all. Have also put it to GSM/WCDMA auto but keeps giving me just 2G network only. I have even had to downgrade the OS from android 5.0.1 to 4.4.2 as suggested by a friend and still got the same issue. Please, what should i do??????

I have the same problem in Holland. I have the F350k variant) 3G is in Holland 900/2100. The phone has despite of the advertisement text !!! by selling (900/2100) 850/1900/2100. The 2100 band is the same so should work.
Tried a lot. By the way last software and Androi 5.0.1.
The Sim is not the problem, the APN setting not, ........
any suggestions?

Hello, I am from Nigeria.
I bought my LG D838 on eBay in May 2015 and was quite impressed with the performance but my pride and happiness was short lived. I woke up one morning in December 2015, and noticed I didn't have any cell reception. I checked with my siblings and I seemed to be the only one who had no cell reception on the same network as theirs.
I swapped SIMS of other networks into my phone but still to no avail but funny thing was that whenever I change network mode to 2G only, I get reception but switching back to 3G only mode gave me nothing at all...this happened a few days after I updated the OS with a 50MB patch file using OTA as prompted. I have been writing to LG since then but no reply and it has frustrated me so much as I bought this phone for about USD 398 and didn't even get to use it up to a year. I managed it on 2G while trying to contact LG about it until the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth stopped responding also. I need the NV and QCN backup file for this phone in order to get it running again…I would really love to see this beauty run again. Please help me out.

I used my M808 2 years. In 2 days i can't call and sms and don't have internet when i have 3G or 4G. When i force 2G i can call and sms. In 3G i can see range but i cant call to anybody.
Do you have idea how i can fix it?
I done hard reset and nothing, I try my SIM card in other smartphone and there i had 4G ok.
Will Change rom help?

This could be caused by a few things.
1. Hardware fault.
2. Your carrier (SIM Provider) switched to a none supported band or bands. The M808 does not support LTE band 20 (800mhz) which is common in Europe
Supported Network Bands:
(2G) GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
(3G) WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100MHz
(4G) FDD-LTE B1/B3/B7/B8/B28
3. APN settings although this would not affect voice calls
4. Your carrier Decided to block your phone by IMEI from using anything other than 2G and yes they do sometimes do this O2 did it to me some years ago now with absolutely no warning or reason given so I will never ever use them again the arrogant s****
5. Duplicate IMEI someone is using a phone with the same IMEI as yours on the same network. This can cause all kinds of strange stuff to happen. Again happened to me when I restored the incorrect backup. Both mine and my sons phone ended up with the same IMEI . It took ages to work out what was going on with that one
I would suggest you first try another sim card from another provider that use's the supported bands for 4G (3UK) if in the UK it used to work fine on my Old M808.
