Hey Guys!
I have a Galaxy S4 i9505 with CM12.1 and i´m searching for a faster phone!
My my questions:
-How is the battery life when i switch from i9505 to i9506? Does the SD800 need more power than the SD600? Accu is the same.
-Can i feel the performance from SD800? or it does not make a noticable difference? I´m a gamer ^^
Thanks at all
I think you should go for the OnePlus X. It has the same specs as the I9506, but it is a more recent model.
Or the LG G2. It has a 3000mAh battery, so it's gonna bump up your game time
Performance wise there surely is going to be an improvement. The benchmark scores will be similar to that of an S5, since they pretty much have the same chip.
thanks ^^
i´m a fan of the three buttons down on the phone like the s4 ^^ i guess the one plus x had them to, but not the g2.
I´m afraid of the battery life from the X... only 2550mha...
It's just 50mAh difference.
The only advantage the S4 has is the ability to get a bigger battery.
On the other hand, you may be able to get a power bank for the X.
only 50mAh to the S4, but 250mAh to the S5
I guess i try the X...
Then get an S5
I mean they have the same performance since they run the same Snapdragon 801 chip.
hmm.. but the S5 normal with SD801 or the neo ?^^ xD I hear the neo had very good battery life but is the SoC from Samsung with 8x 1,6GHz enough?
Yes i´m bad in buying something new XD
Well, it depends.
The S6 had the highest benchmark scores from any flagship last year, thanks to Samsung's Exynos chip.
I don't know if this is also the case for the S5 chip.
The downside is, the Exynos chip doesn't have much in terms of custom roms development. The most you can get is touchwiz based roms.
The Snapdragon S5, on the other had, has lots of roms probably.
So if you are planning to change roms, you should also take that into account.
I, personally, would go for the Snapdragon version.
I´m a big fan of cyanogen mod ^^ Than X or the S5 Snapdraon Version... But the X had 3GB RAM ^^
Unless you're a big multitasker, 2GB ram is enough.
I constantly have 1.2GB free ram. I don't think there are any games that use more than 1GB ram.
But since the X is a newer model, it may have faster ram, which in turn results in better performance.
You should probably watch some reviews, and maybe some comparisons.
than i´m searching for an good used S5, thanks ^^

Hello, I live in the UK and I got a Samsung Galaxy S for Christmas, but now I'm returning it to Amazon for a refund because I paid £250 for it and it's only a single core, so I think that a Dual Core phone would be a much more worthwhile purchase, and would last longer. (and I had the lag issue on SGS).
Now, the problem is I'm not sure which one to get. The Galaxy S II is off the list because of price (£400+), and the HTC Sensation is good but I'll probably have to wait a bit before I can afford it (£330 at the moment).
This leaves me with the LG Optimus 2X - only £250, however I'm really skeptical about this one, as people keep saying it keeps rebooting and freezing etc etc. It's a shame because my mind was set to go for the LG
So yeah, I'm really confused now. Can anybody give any advice?
How about Galaxy R ??
Same as S2 but with scLCD Display

Thats still insanely expensive...
I'm seriously considering buying an MI-ONE.
I watched some reviews and i'm impressed by quality/price of this phone (~£250).
It has an Snapdragon MSM8260 dual-core CPU 1.5 GHz with the Adreno220 and 1Gb of Ram with an MIUI based ROM and unlocked bootloader.
The only thing that stoped me so far is the lack of support in my country (must shippit to china 4 warranty).
Galaxy S+ is also a good single Core option
i suggest a Samsung Galaxy Wonder, although it's also just single core it's not that big and has a really good appearance. all phones do lag my friend and it can't be avoided, even an i3 computer lags too, so i would say it's a part of devices and you shouldn't worry about it. better choose the one with the looks
Not sure what the price is there in the UK, but I really love my Motorola Bionic. Dual core 1GHz and 1 GB RAM. 8 Meg forward camera and 1.3 Meg rear for video chat. 4.3 inch (11 cm) screen. Super fast.
if i were u i keep galaxy s , its a good phone , what u want from a mobile ?? a good camera ? if u want good camera dont buy galaxy s becasue it dont have flash however in dayligh its a good camera .
you can buy a desire hd htc
I have used my not so powerful but beloved x8 for some time now,, its time to get a high end smartphone , but i am pretty confused on which one to buy?
I am currently considering Samsung galaxy s2, Samsung galaxy Nexus, Htc Sensation XE, Xperia Arc s(if only it had dual core!), Motorola Droid Razr ,, So which one do you guys prefer and why? and are there any other phone that i should consider?
Don't go for the razr.
I would not go for the Razr since the battery is pretty poor and not replaceable, although the Rarz maxx gives you plenty of juice.
I would prefer the GNex since it is the most advanced phone out there. Also it gives you a long period of rom-updates since its an development phone.
My second choice will be the SGS2, here in the Nederlands is has gone true an small price-drop since the GNex is in stores. so this option is more attractive now.

wht i dont understand is that why would you say the razr's battery life is not good, according to almost all the test it came over galaxy nexus, actually galaxy nexus has the least battery life amongst all the phones i mentioned because of its high res screen. but the galaxy nexus's battery can be replaced so i guess that seems to be the best phone soo far
I would take the galaxy nexus too because you get all updates at first
Or you wait for the sony xperia s it will have a 1.5 ghz dual core processor it will come in march
phone
mytouch 4g
I would choose GS2 over Nexus. I am myself a GS2 user and played with galaxy nexus for some time. The very big difference between these two at first is the weight and user interface. Although it's possible to port ICS to galaxy S2 and yet it's very unstable compared to nexus. But on longer term, why GS2 over Nexus? I am an accessories lover and I like to have a cool unique looking phone. In my experience there still aren't a lot of cool accessories available for Nexus S. It's a new phone and the question is will there good looking accessories in the future. In my opinion, no there won't be. Like the previous model Nexus, the hype stays with the latest software, but no hype in expanding the use of it's phone in way of dressing the phone.
Little summary: GS2--> a lot of cases and accessories available. Gnex---> ICS
But hey, who knows maybe samsung comes with GS3 soon!!(expected in May)

The amaze is downright heavy bro
As a happy G2 owner i would say go for it. But the Nexus is pretty nice too. I was in love with the Razr until I saw it in store.
I would go with the SGS2 great phone with a huge dev community so lots of roms and lots of support. It's gonna be my next phone, unless htc really does come out with this quad core phone they keep leaking info on.
Try the Samsung Galaxy Note. Its the best of both worlds which is a smartphone and a tablet combine into 2. The 5.3 inch screen makes reading easier. Dual core at 1.4 GHz and can be easily rooted.
Buy SGS2. Great phone, having G9000 before, it was very goo, but has some performance issues. G9100 has solved it,working like charm, have Android 4.0.3 installed.

The RAZR has a 680 mAh battery where the Nexus has a 1850 mah.
Better battery.
It really all depends on how you use it though.
Nexus!
Samsung Nexus has been one of the sexiest phones that I have ever owned. Straight Google support... can't beat that!

thats some major wrong information you got there bro ,, the razr has a Li-Ion 1780 mAh battery and the galaxy s2 has a Li-Ion 1650 mAh battery,, and the nexus has Li-Ion 1750 mAh battery,, according to some global battery tests Galaxy s2 has the best battery life even with 1650 due to its lower pixel density compared to the razr and nexus,, the motorola droid razr comes in second and the nexus has the worst battery life of the lot,,(due to its massive screen and high pixel density), get you facts right bro, before you give information like that, and with 680 mah a dual core smart phone would not last half a day !!
I have a SGSII and I can recommend it. In the end for me it's about the hardware and the screen.
On the downside the battery is not great but it seems that all smartphones suffer from this.

The raze has almost the same specs and a higher pixel density super amoled screen, so would that be a better choice than the gs2?
I recommend the Galaxy Nexus. I mean what could be better than enjoying the pure Google experience? The GNexus has an awesome display and has the newest rom available from Android. You will be getting updates on this phone for a long time, and it will be up to par with other phones even when out of the 2 year contract. The Galaxy Nexus is the way to go.
Hello guys,
Well i need some advice from real people. There are two models in my country: international One X and One XL. You know what the differences are. So maybe someone tested both with same kernel and os version. Which processor is better? Tegra 3 or Snapdragon clocked Krait S4?
In your opinion which one to buy and why? Or just go for One S?
P.S. There are like 1 million reviews and benchmarks and like every single one is different.
Thank you for your opinion!

S4 because its the future.
S4 for the LTE.
S4 for the battery life.
S4 for the win
Sent from my One X
I really do not need LTE. The main thing is speed! And about battery? It is really big difference? Or just go for Galaxy S3...? I just love HTC design, and galaxy is just near ugly, but speed is more important, just hate lag so much.
28nm ftw
Sent from my JellyBean
S4 processor is better. The tegra 3 was rushed so they could be the first to get a quad core. It's crappy architecture. The s4 is better for everything but gaming but only by a little and it kills battery on the tegra
Sent from my One X using xda premium
Speed difference is negligible. S4 wins in a lot of benchmarks, and Tegra wins in a couple. And you would likely not see much difference in real world use. Same performance, but better battery life on the S4.
Also, at launch the Tegra version had graphical glitches, and a number of other bugs that were attributed to the Tegra chipset. Not sure if these were ever sorted out, as I don't keep up with that version. But many were doubting it would be fixed anytime soon, as NVIDIA is notorious for taking forever to address such issues.
And you might think you don't need LTE. But its not just about speed. I get fantastic data reception at my house now under LTE, where under HSPA+ it was dismal (1 bar, with frequent connection drops). At some point, you may find your self in a location(s) that has poor HSPA reception, and LTE will save the day.
Every Tegra device I've put my hands on has always seemed far too slow and glitchy for the supposedly excellent hardware and software behind it. Except the Zune HD, but everyone ignored the Tegra 1 for some reason. S4's got better battery, chances are they are basically identical in real world use. The only downside to the S4 is the lack of official support for the Tegra games, but I'm sure we'll be able to play them in time.
To be honest, we might be able to do them now if Chainfire3d works for us.
I'd buy a Qualcomm based device over a Tegra based one any day of the week for all of the reasons already mentioned.
The S4 may be "only" dual core, but it's the better chip.
sweet, another thread for this
you should of done something original, like ask one x vs. galaxy s3

there are s4 with quad core. a chinese phone maker jiayu, is making the jiayu s1 with s4 pro. that is 4 cores with gpu andreno 320! and with 2 gb ram with 32 gb memory with sd card slot and 2500 mah battery or 3000 mah battery!, with a 3.0 megapixel cam in front and 13 megapixel in the bag, and is thin!. only for 260 or more dollars!. incredible no? (gorila glass maybe, like the other older models!) and the value is near the nexus 4, but this one is better, with more battery, (the jiayu g4 with an older procesor with quadcore wins the nexus 4, this will win the samsum galaxy note 2 or more) jiayu is good with good performance battery and resistant products. and very beautiful too

Hi Good day
I want the best phone I bought this list:
samsung galaxy s5
sony xperia z3
LG G3
But do not know which one is better.
Please tell me which of these three is the best?
Thank you
GS 5 Good camera, amoled screen, removable battery, water proof?,+samsung gimmicks
Z3 Good camera, good batery life, water proof, decent design
G3 Quad HD, Cheaper than Z3 or GS 5, decent design, removable battery, decent camera, big phone.
Negatives:
GS 5 Samsung Knox, plastic,bloatware
Not removable battery, prone to scratches because of glass sandwich
Locked bootloader, Mediocre battery life
Choose one, all of them are good phones.
1. Sony Xperia z3
2. LG G3
3. Samsung Galaxy S5
Thank you friends.
Please give me more tips.
Again, thank you

You can really just flip a coin to choose (assuming you can find a 3 sided coin). G3 has the bigger screen and best scree-to-size ratio and probably the best camera. It has the benefit of SD card slot and removable battery, but no waterproofness, which the other 2 have. With Samsung you're stuck with TouchWiz and a GB less RAM, so it won't perform as well in real-life (meaning outside of synthetic benchmarks). The Sony has the best battery life, but without the removable battery, and the front facing speakers are great for media consumption.
1. Z3
2.LG G3
3.Samsung Galaxy S5
Between Lg G3 and galaxy note 4 Which do you like?
Each of these 2 would be better to buy.
Isure buy one of these phones you please tell me.

Just in case look at this comparation and think what do you need more. http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-4,LG-G3/phones/8577,8347
Hi
Sony Xperia z3 is best phone.
Gotta go with LG G3
Good screen, decent battery life, good screen to body ratio, great speakers, good development
To not open another thread have similair question:
I am upgrading from Galaxy S3 and I have some options trough my provider which ensures me a cheaper deal and this are:
- Galaxy A5
- Galaxy S5
- Z3
- G3
I am leaning towards A5 since its metal and alot cheaper then other 3, but I heard it has bad CPU and can't switch battery, is it really that much worse then the others? Would an A5 even be considered an "upgrade" over my S3?
The Note 4 is the king of the phablets and the most powerful device on the current market. If you're considering it, it's truly a brilliant device.
The G3 is a flagship phone, the Note 4 is highest-end device. Comparing them isn't really fair, as Flagships aren't the highest end devices.

The A5 is almost identical to the S3. Not worth it, and indeed you can't change the battery. The A3 is a mid-low range device.
For the others it's a matter of preference. What features are most important to you?

Well I really like Note 4 but I am afraid it might be too big for me, I remember when I had the first Note, I was struggling to use it for let's say when I had to quickly make a call during driving or taking it out of pockets or such. To me tough most important is the battery life, good camera\video, no lagging - quickness of making calls. Note 4 kindof fits my description it's really perfect - but the size. If it was just a little bit smaller :\ I guess I might have to wait another month or two for the S6.
The Galaxy S5 is 5.1" and IP67 Certified aka it's waterproof, the others you mention don't have that kind of protection, USB3.0, removable battery, a better 16MP camera with OIS.
The 5.5" LG G3 doesn't have much development for custom ROMS (if I'm wrong, pls correct me) even though it has a bigger screen then the S5, and both supports microSDXC to 128GB and have Snapdragon 801 chips.
The Sony smartphone is a good device but again in my eyes, Sony fell behind and they're having a hard time coming back up.
I always tell users to look at the whole picture and if in doubt just walk into any store and personally test the forementioned devices you're inquiring about in your first post.
Hope this helps a little.
Sony Xperia is the best chocie according to me. Next Samsung S5 and then LG.
This question is more for Developers\Advanced Users\Geeks, than the normal user\average Joe (who uses the phone 90% for Calls \SMS , Whatsapp and just a few games like Candy Crush\Fruit Ninja and a little Web surfing):
Which Phone would you prefer? Phone A or Phone B ?
I personally can't decide which I should use..
I will not (yet) post Geekbench\Antutu because:
1) The App says the name of the phone, so it wouldn't be a blind poll anymore
2) I don't really trust these more popular tests anymore because money CAN buy results or at least app optimization so less popular (but well made) apps are more likely to tell the truth
Please Read the whole text above ^ and carefully look at the Screenshots I attached before posting.. Saying that I should just choose the one with the higher numbers\benchmarks would prove to me that you do not (ever?) read the Original Post and just like troll every thread you find, OR if you did read, it would make me doubt that your IQ is enough for the xda forum.
Obviously one would choose higher benchmarks.
Thread cleaned up.
Please be civil and respect each other.
There is absolutely no need for foul language.
Let's keep it on topic please.
Thanks!

Hey.
Given your use, I would say that Phone A is the best choice. Better graphics, better Ram, onlty has a worse read and write speed (although it's half the speed, which is bad).
Still, for the type of use you describe, can't really see why you would pick phone B since it does not take a lot of read speed to open those apps decently.
Any reason for you not saying which phones they are? You clearly know that tests are not all the story, and saying wich phones these are you are letting people with that phone tell you about their experience
This does look like a Pixel vs Galaxy S7 though.

thanks for your reply... you understood me wrongly...I said ''This question is for Developers\Advanced Users\Geeks, {not for } the normal user\average Joe (because [average Joe- meaning most people] uses their phone 90% for Calls \SMS , Whatsapp and just a few games like Candy Crush\Fruit Ninja and a little Web surfing)'' and they don't know anything about these geeky things.. so the cannot help me with the question. ..but that doesn't matter..it's not the point here. I just wanted to see what other people think is more important: RAM speed or NAND speed.
NOW THE DISCLOSURE:
Phone A is the Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Snapdragon 820 with adreno 530, 4gb ram,-flashed with Lineage OS ) -cost me 200€ (almost a year ago)
Phone B is the S8+ (Exynos 8895, 4gb ram) cost me 900€
Of course in all other Benchmarks (Geekbench, Antutu, Basemark OS, Basemark X,Basemark ES 3.1, 3D Mark, Lightmark, Brue Bench Pro etc) the S8+ absolutely dominates\destroys the ZUK but in these 2, where ONLY the RAM (and the Storage) gets tested , the difference is not that big between the 2 Smartphones.
In daily use I cannot see a difference in responsiveness with both of them..If I could, I wouldn't have made this thread, and would have decided on my own (which one I should use daily).
P.S: It couldn't have been the Pixel because: see my Signature (phone history).. I never had that ugly ''Ferrari''

Sorry for misreading your text.
I have a S8+ but I have had just about everything that was graded as a flagship since the time when flagships were snapdragon 600s (htc one m7 and s4) and before that all galaxy S phones.
I have had phones with the snapdragons: 800, 801, 805, 810, 820 and now 835
The thing is, could you tell the difference between what you have benchmarked in the real world? I don't think so.
Can you tell the difference between a snapdragon 800 and a 805? I sure couldnt and had a few 800s; Could you tell the difference between a 800 and a 810? definetly, although subtle; Could I tell the difference between a 810 and a 820? yup, but it's even more subtle... but from a 820 to a 835? No way.
Funny enough, you can tell the difference between a galaxy s6 and a oneplus 2, or between a Mi Mix and a S7, and both these comparisons have the same processors (hell, if we are comparing exynos, the samsungs have a more powerful processor)... The chinese phones are faster
This said, if you want to chose between a SD820 and a SD835 based on real world performance, the difference if negligible at best; if you want to go by benchmarks my Exynos s8+ scores 181k on antutu (overclocked 2.5ghz scores 5-6k more) and that is a full 20k faster than a OnePlus 3t with a SD821.
My advice won't be geeky or anything like that, we got to a point where we are putting more horsepower in a car that has no more runway to run. No app laggs a 820.
If you have both phones, use as a daily driver the phone that suits your needs better.
A phone is not a processor nor a LDDR4 ram, a phone is a whole and as a whole, AT THIS MOMENT, nothing beats the S8+ in my opinion.

I agree with everything you said..except the last sentence:
There is something faster than a s8+: a s8+ WITH CYANOGENMOD\LINEAGE OS or Oxygen OS:angel::angel::silly::victory:
