i have make a search for a new best phone for me i cant choice wich one is the best
i was thinking about SAMSUNG I9100 GALAXY S II vs SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE vs i phone 4 vs HTC Sensation vs Samsung Galaxy Nexus...which one you will suggest to me for the top use ?
My personal opinion I like the new Motorola Razr (Or Droid Razr in the US). 1GB RAM, Dual core 1.2cpu and seperate gpu. 16Gb internal with SD ext support. 8Mp Camera rather than 5.
The new Nexus is comparable but has 5mp camera and no external sd card support, which I just don't understand.
If you like the Galaxy, version 3 should be out 1st 1/4 of next year. That looks a beast.
you have to decide wither to go with Android or iOS.
if you want more apps, much much less customization go with iOS and buy iPhone 4/4s
------
if you want good amount of apps, customizable OS go with Android
then ask your self do I want a phone or a small tablet if you want a phone remove the note from your list
other phones in the market share the same specs: 1.2 dual core around 1GB ram
5-8 mb camera
I will go with HTC rezound (in US) or the Galaxy nexus or If you like the design of
Motorola Razr its good phone (my friend told me its camera is not that good)
my final personal choice will be the new Galaxy Nexus
You can't go wrong with Galaxy S II. It packs all the things we love in Android - big screen (but not too big), open bootloader, great power etc.
I just love the idea of "Pure Google" phones. I have a Nexus S that I love. I'd go for that if I were you, or even better, if you have the budget to afford it, for a Galaxy Nexus.
Pure Google phones = best support (quick system update deployment), no bloatware (I'm not a fan of TouchWiz, Sense and others).
Of course it is a bit irrelevant once you install CM on them, but there's something that makes me feel good to have the brand Google on the back of my phone.

and remember, tinkering with Apple stuff is a futile effort! unless you work for them. which i suppose is like a gang initiation in / out. basically apple-ites live on their own little planet.
I heard that the sound quality on the s2 is not as good as the first version.
i was thinking to buy the htc flyer but with the samsung note maybe i change my mind because i saw the specs for that device and i think is better to have 2 things in one devices and more more cheaper
In my opinion the Galaxy Nexus is the best you could get because you can be sure that Google will support this phone a long time and the hardware is really nice.
The second phone I would choose is the S2, brilliant screen and epic phone.
Hi, I had the Captivate, then upgraded to the SGSII. Now my wife has the Cappy. I just put a rom in the I777. Working great. I love the SGSII.
Just my 2 cents.
i decide that i wont buy an iPhone and i will stay with the awesome android OS.
but i want to learn more about the Samsung phones ...like how to root each of them and if i can root them.
what phone have the best screen from the others and the camera.
also about the best custom things like roms and hacks.
battery life and also the best and more important part what are the problems they have .
And if their is a compare video or site with all the samsung phone i am interesting
What about SG note? Weird that nobody recommends it

That is very simple, HTC Sensation.
It has design, beauty and class over others.
Get iphone because remember if u have an iphone, u don't have an iphone.

The HTC Sensation is very nice. I love mine. Even after buying the HTC Amaze I STILL use my Sensation. It feels very nice in the hand...and you can buy white battery covers which when combined with a new ROM, make you feel like you have a new phone.

I recently got a HD7 with windows phone, and i gotta say, its really nice.
its buttery smooth, fastest growing apps market, etc. the phone is also really nice, fast, good size, good weight, nice screen, not too bad of a camera (cant beat a real camera ofc, but still).
just my opinion.

I think the Galaxy Not is a little bit too big for the most. But i would take it
As long as it fits in the pocket, its not too big(and has nice specs too)

I want to save for a new phone, i was thinking of getting a Galaxy S ii or Galaxy Nexus. Which is better?
they are the same only nexus has a better screen. (CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG)
why dont you wait for s3 like i do?
i wiil go with nexus
i think "Galaxy Nexus" would be better. u will get a long talk time and better uploading speed here. downloading speed is also good here....
I honestly and personally would get the Galaxy Nexus. The SII seems a bit over rated to me. Also the Galaxy Nexus looks a lot better and looks like something that is fun to use
Galaxy sII

Better in terms of pixel density which results in slightly sharper images. However, the s2 produces better quality images and the contrast and viewing angles are much better

get the nexus .more updates in the future
Galaxy Nexus. Screen is really nice and it is smooth right out of the box.
Samsung also sells an extended battery which adds very minimal bulk. It makes the battery cover flush and adds a little bit of weight which feels nice.
Galaxy sII:O
i think galacy nexus is better, however if i were u i would buy an htc one s
So any way it depends what you use your phone for. If you want high resilousion pics then go with the s2 cause it has the 8mp camera compared to the 5mp camera for the nexus. So if you put the s2's photos on a big screen it will look better than the nexus's photos on the same big screen, but if you look at the nexus's photos on the phone screen it will look better than the s2's photos on the phone screen because the nexus has a higher resliousion screen.
So if you are gona put your photos onto a computer then go with the s2 but if you are gona just look at them on you phone then go with the nexus. The specs of the two phones are the same a think is 1.2 ghz dule core prossor and 202 gpu.
It should be fast enough for daily tasks and gameing alike.

Galaxy Nexus for me. Only because it's an official Google phone, I love to have the updates before everyone else
i think galaxy nexus is better.. it has more modern technology than galaxy S2
i also think that galaxy nexus is better
Well i too would suggest the nexus.. but if you are still saving.. and saving big.. wait for the s3 !!

I think Nexus is better than S2 for performance. But You can try to another Product like HTC or Sony.
My vote is on the Nexus
However if you have that kind of cash why not consider something newer in the market?
I would definately wait for the s3! the official release is this thursday, so it's sooooo close!
there is no official picture but there are some leaked pictures based photos, check out the site of sammobile . com, there are some pics! (I can't post links..)
it supports better specs than s2 or nexus.
If you don't like this and can't wait for 2 days, I would say galaxy s2 because it has such an overwhelming development section with soo many ROMs etcetera.
GL
You should wait just a couple of days..
For sure the one currently with the most up to date software without having to root it and install one of the custom ROMs here would be the Galaxy Nexus. Although it won't be the best device in a couple of days. I suggest you to wait just at least a couple of day before choosing if your one top notch up to date kind of guy since the Galaxy SIII should be announced on May 3rd by Samsung. Also, the HTC One series are getting through many carriers these day until the end of may. The One X is definitively a much better device currently even if it's not available everywhere. Anyhow, if you want it at the end of the day, I would go with the Galaxy Nexus, if you can wait just a couple of days, I would be curious to compare it with the incoming One X or the SIII!
If your into custom rooms, definitely go for the s2 as there is more going on in the development section

hey guys,
im looking to buy a phone in the upper mid-range category and im really confused between the s2, nexus and the htc one s. the s2 was my original choice but apart from the sd card and the normal sim slot it is inferior to the htc one s. on the other hand, the nexus may not have the fastest processor of the lot but it does have the advantage of being a google phone and thus has a extremely large developer base. I am keen on getting the one s now but i've managed to confuse myself once again. there have been reports that the one s is unable to maintain its black color when scratched and that the phones have had white marks on them because of the ceramic finish . and the lack of an sd card slot is a huge turnoff plus it only takes micro-sims that make the device even more inflexible...
i am utterly clueless here, i would be really grateful if someone could help...
and btw i am very keen on loading different kernels and custom roms on my device and i will definitely be overclocking, and im looking for a phone that is future proof atleast for 2-3 years...
P.S: this will be my first android device and i want my journey with android to be a pleasant one, so guys, please help me.
and one more thing,
I am not asking which is the best phone of the lot, i am asking which phone will be the best FOR ME! so no fanboy rants and petty quarrels please...!!
I personally prefer the Galaxy Nexus due it being a google phone and yes it does have a HUGE developer base both here and inside google. One of the main advantages is that it offers a pure google android experience, so no carrier bloatware apps or overlays.
While the HTC One S is a more powerful device, it does come with the Sense UI overlay on top of Android 4.0. Some people prefer it, while others don't like it. It all depends on the person. Also, on a side note, there is no real way of completely removing the Sense UI with a new ROM without causing some problems.
The Galaxy S2 is still a good device, but will have the Samsung Touchwiz overlay. Though Touchwiz can be removed without a problem.
Both the S2 and HTC One S will have slower Android upgrades than the Galaxy Nexus, which receives almost immediately when it is available.
Overall, both the HTC One S and the Galaxy Nexus will be future-proof as they are capable of running the future Android OS like Jelly Bean. However, the only difference is that the Nexus will receive the update much earlier than the One S. This is not to say the S2 won't get the update, but it will take some time as well.
Aesthetics wise, all phones are beautifully designed and thin, so no problems there.
Have fun choosing as they are all amazing phones!
thanks for the reply. i really dont mind if the updates come slowly. but if the s2 will get them eventually, i'm gonna go for it. the nexus is extremely dificult to come around in my locality and from how much i am aware of, the only assets that the nexus has, over the s2 is a better screen and a larger developer support since its a google phone. apart form that the s2 is better in all regard. i dont really care about touch wiz or sense. I prefer the stock android UI anyway. since that can be obtained in the s2, im gonna go for it. plus by overclocking im sure one can get scores of 4000+ in quadrant on the s2. so exynos is almost as fast as the snapdragon s2 if not faster...
cool. glad I helped Good luck with the new phone!

if the Gnexus is not available i would definately take the SII any day. While the One S has the S4 processor it doesnt have a micro SD so limited to 16GB and no removable battery. SII any day.
Go buy the Nexus. You'll have more fun with it to flash etc ...!
Galaxy Nexus for sure. I went from iPhone to HTC sensation then Evo3D but both played up. Got the Nexus and its the best mobile ive had.

As this is my first post on this forum I would like to say kindly HELLO to EVERYONE.
I have a big problem in choosing my next smartphone. Currently I'm using Samsung Galaxy S+ (i9001). I tested almost every rom on it, and I'm not satisfied with it's speed...I mean it's laggy and apps open too much time.
So I want to buy either Nexus or S2 but I can't really choose. Like I said the most important thing for me is the smoothness and quick opening aps (calls, sms and so on). I don't play games so I won't benefit from better GPU in S2. I have read many comparisons and ones say that Nexus is smoother than S2 because it's pure AOSP, and other say that slower CPU+GPU in Nexus with HD screen makes it a slower device. Will be S2 really smoother than Nexus when I will put an AOSP rom in it ?
It would be great if someone had both devices and compared them. Comparisons on YT tell me nothing cause those people are comparing those devices on too much differing roms like one on ICS and other on JB.
I am aware of other pros and cons of those two devices. What I am asking for is that which one does have smoother feel and faster opening aps. Well eventually the battery life is what interests me too, cause I have read that Nexus has a weak one.
Sorry for my bad english.
S2 has amazing support of community and it can be very smooth. Actually its smoother then stock S3 with good ROM.
It is also thin and light as feather. I really enjoy in its lightness.
Nexus is one of the phones I would only root, and don't touch anything.
They are actually quite different. Sweet misery. Anyway you can't make a mistake with either one.

Galaxy Nexus is smoother, because it is pure AOSP, like people said. Development is good for both devices, but Nexus has better development mainly because its a Nexus device. You also get official updates faster and will probably get more updates than SII. I would pick Nexus over SII any day. The HD screen doesnt make that much of a difference. Besides, I'd rather have an HD screen with > 300 PPI than a screen with only 217 PPI. Both devices are really good, but that resolution on the SII really irks me.
PS. I agree with the person above. I would probably root it but leave it at that. Pure stock on Nexus really is amazing.

I have to go with Nexus too. I love pure stock. TouchWiz is ok... but when it comes down to it you have to deal with some Samsung crap that you don't want.
Your S+ is laggy because it runs on a Snapdragon CPU instead of Exynos. There's nothing "Plus" about it.
As someone who's owned both the S2 and Galaxy Nexus. I'm assuming by S2 you mean an Exynos-based one like the i9100:
Development (ROMs) - Both. Yes, the Galaxy Nexus is a Nexus device, which means a lot of development. But the S2 i9100 also has a TON of support and development.
Speed - Galaxy S2, for both CPU and GPU, by far.
Camera - Galaxy S2, by FAR. It has an amazing camera. The Galaxy Nexus has a terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE camera, and any GN owner will admit it.
Screen - Galaxy Nexus, if you don't mind pentile. It's 720p vs 800 x 480 in the S2. The S2 isn't pentile though. Honestly, I'd give it to the Galaxy Nexus regardless.
Storage - Galaxy S2; 16/32GB storage + Memory card slot. Galaxy Nexus (GSM) is 16GB, which is really like 12GB usable. No memory card slot.
Notification Light - Galaxy Nexus has an RGB notification light. Galaxy S2 doesn't have a light.
Personally, I'd go with the S2 because I game a lot and need room for my music and files. I only have like 250 songs on my card, but I also use my phone as a camera, so storage and camera quality are very important for me. It's much much much faster for anything beyond day-to-day tasks. The screen resolution isn't bad at all considering the screen is 4.3 inches. I had the Sprint Galaxy Nexus, which was 32GB, so it had a redeeming factor, but I felt like it was hard to downgrade performance coming from the Galaxy S2. The Galaxy Nexus is still a great phone that's still very viable (and still a Nexus, so you get continued support from Google), but between these two phones specifically, I'd go for the S2.
Yeah deff agree with the sucky camera. And the lack of a micro SD slot is ridiculous. But I rarely use either. Honestly it depends on the type of user you are.

Yeah I agree on the last bit. That's the most important thing. If you're the occasional phone photographer and you're not playing the latest games, you can survive on the Nexus (btw GTA 3 and Shadowgun run fine on the Nexus).

Reasons why some people consider S4 as an evolutionary upgrade
Number 1. The design- The design jump from S2 to S3 was a big jump for galaxy s devices to jump from a squarish look to a a more rounded edges look. But the S4 still retains the design of its predecessor and most likely they hate the design. Samsung somewhat thinks that because many millions of peoplebought the galaxy S3 means that the design was good. But the reason why S3 is because of the inside, not the outside.
Number 2 The OS- S2 was running 2.3.6 when galaxy s3 launched with ICS,they call it a big jump because of no lags when swiping homescreen, overall better experience and a totally new look. But the jump from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 wasnt that massive (not samsungs fault) but the problem is its UI looks became so complicated that normal users will have harder time looking for all the new features of the galaxy S4 and UI doesnt change but it becames more complicated
Number 3 Features- More likely this is the selling feature that made the galaxy S3 famous, the addtions of features from 4.0 was the face unlock, lock screen features, and etc but most likely the features are from google itself, not samsung. And the features added by samsung are more gimmickry. Then samsung add more of them in the S4 which average might not even touch even 1 of them. And not all the features are game changing they are just for show-offs. And those camera features are utter not sensoble to be called inovation, its good to have it here but samsung must just focus on the thing that makes galaxy S4 looks like a dump of bloatware
And lastly, the lag. 4.1.2 on S3/Note 3 was already smooth but this 4.2.2 on the galaxy S4 lags, iknow this can be fix by tweaks in rooting but for average user S4 look like a mid range phone cause of lag. I know that S4 is the first 4.2.2 non-nexus device, but samsung must make android less laggy, than adding features and apps which are prior useless or sometimes considered bloatware
Im not against galaxys4 but its time for Samsung to realize to make the Note 3 a game changing device ^^
So... What's new or different from the other lot of threads that already exist about this?
Here we go again.

Who really cares? Either people like it and buy it, it they don't! Yeah the jump isn't huge from s4 to s3, neither was the s2 to s3! Majority of users probably won't upgrade more than once every two years or so. Provided all phones are an improvement in the ones the customers are coming from, what does it really matter if it was only an evolution rather than revolution?

It's evolutionary because it is a touch screen phone like it's predecessors.
The first iPhone was revolutionary, but that was a long time ago.
Nevertheless it is the best, ever made!

Yeah wots with all the lag complaints? I've got the 9505 flavour and consider myself a real heavy user. My s3 was always running low in resource and suffering lags and redraws when pushed but I can honestly say its pretty much non existant on this device.
Also remember we are on very early firmwares at the mo so things will improve as the software matures.
My favorite improvement over the s3 is defo the ir blaster, kids always stealing my remotes and hiding them so just this one new feature for me makes the s4 a revolutionary step a remote for all my home hardware that I can call if I cant locate genius
I love the vanilla android expierience on nexus but I dont think the s4 would have that wow factor without the skins features etc thay come with the s4 and samsungs tweaks.
Also the s4 is the first galaxy I haven't rooted because I havent had any need to change anything. Every other galaxy I have had and ive had 12 and 3 was rooted and touchwizless
Sview is also awesome. Just wish the case offered more protection.

Compared to what? Do you consider the HTC One revolutionary because its metal? The iPhone's been metal for years. Are the SGS4 Active and Xperia Z revolutionary because they are waterproof? Waterproof phones have been out in Asia for years. Is there any phone currently on the market that has better h/w specs than the SGS4?
The problem is phones have advanced so quickly we're running out of "revolution." As for the design, Samsung's clearly applying a common design ethos to all their devices as every device released soon before and after the SGS4 all look the same. So you may not like Samsung's design choices but they are following in the footsteps of Apple, BMW, and M-B who all evolve their designs in the name of branding. Based on the initial sales reports I'd say it seems to be working.

Huge? They both have 4.7" displays, the One X used S3 and the One uses S-600, and neither have removable batteries or expandable storage.
What's "new" on the One? Dual front speakers? Samsung started that with tablets a year ago. BlinkFeed? It's written by Mobile Republic and not HTC and download Socialife from Sony and you'll have a better version of the same thing on your SGS4. A 4MP camera with bigger photosites? First introduced by Nokia and the One's camera gets mixed reviews. Zoe? A single "scene" uploads 20 uncategorized pics to Dropbox and Flickr. The SGS4 has GG3, DDR3 RAM, and a ton of new sensors and is also thinner, lighter, and has a 5" display in a body the same size as the SGS3. So "huge" is in the eye of the beholder. People that equate design with "revolution" need to get over it. Based on all the recent devices Samsung's released looking "familiar" I wouldn't expect anything radical any time soon.
No phone released this gen appears truly "revolutionary". The software is ultimately what's driving much of the innovation in smartphones, and software is just what Samsung focused mostly on, while also providing the best hardware. The beauty of "gimmick features" is that they can be disabled, but they're also there if you want to use them. Don't want them on your phone? Just root and remove. Want to get them back? Recovery is easy.
I'm still impressed that the S4 managed to be about the same size as its predecessor, while being lighter, having a bigger screen, and getting jam packed with more sensors and better hardware, including a larger battery. In addition to its partnering with tech companies like Mobeam to altar the way you make payments or deal with physical gift/membership cards. Things like that may not be "revolutionary", but it's a damn great way to evolve.
No lag here
