I rooted my phone with Kingroot and wanted to switch it to Super User so that it would not unroot every time I rebooted.
When I switched it to Super User it told me to uninstall other Root Managers so I clicked Uninstall. It got stuck on uninstalling so I rebooted my device thinking I could just update the binary when my device rebooted. Now I am stuck on bootloop and I never downloaded CWM or TWRP. I have already tried factory reset and cache wipe to no avail. Please help I just bought this phone and honestly have no idea what I'm doing.
Just going to buy a new phone. Never touching anything root again. Wow. Something so silly just costed me $500 dollars.
I want to say I can use Odin on a windows computer to flash the original stock rom back into it but I don't have USB debugging on in my phone so something tells me that's a long shot and a giant headache. going to take it to a phone repair shop in town and see what they say. this sucks.

I'm not sure, but I don't think you need usb debugging enabled. I've flashed back to stock roms before without enabling it (on other phones).

@triiuzii You are correct, you do not need USB debugging turned on as I forgot to turn it on once when testing root options on the j3, and I was still able to flash stock firmware through Odin. Odin is its own separate system to boot into. I don't think it's dependent on other settings. I think USB debugging is only for ADB. I could be wrong but this is just from my personal experience.

Hi
As mentioned by others, you do not need usb debugging to odin flash in download mode.
This is fixable if you have the right firmware. Apologies for the late reply.

Hi folks. I've tried searching on this subject and looks like every thread I've seen on this site related to a stuck Google screen was the result of trying to root the device. My situation is different. I have a stock phone given to me by Google (I'm a former Googler) and up until recently the phone started to go awry whenever I had to reboot it. It would stay stuck at the Google logo. I've tried recover, clearing the cache and also factory wipe and it will always restart and get stuck at the logo. I've found some threads on Google's support forums that mention it may be hardware related with faulty memory being the issue. I'm trying here as a last resort.
The phone is the regular Nexus S 3G for Tmobile. Please help before I smash this phone into the wall.
I'd try rooting and installing a custom rom. If it works after that and you want it to be stock again you could just reverse the process. If none of that works then I'm guessing it's similar to the other phones with hardware problems.

I can't seem to root it. I've installed the adb drivers and windows detects it whenever I plug the USB in, but I can't unlock it to root it. When I run this command, "fastboot oem unlock" it just keeps trying to detect the phone but never does. I think it's because USB debugging isn't enabled and I can't enable it without being able to get back into the phone.

you need the nexus s drivers go to the pdanet website http://junefabrics.com/android/ and download and install the free version on your desktop. then follow the on screen instructions and it will install the drivers for you. thats the easiest way to install the drivers.

I've already installed that. It won't detect the phone properly because I can't enable the USB thing within the android OS since I'm blocked from fully loading up the phone.
It sounds like the sdcard memory won't mount. This is a hardware issue.

That's interesting you say that because I do notice an error during recovery and selecting data wipe. I had a colleague in the android dept tell me it's most likely bad flash memory.

Everything I've read on this forum says that if you can get into download mode you're not hard-bricked, because hard-bricked is when you CAN'T do that.
I'm sure there's something you can do to fix it. I'd just search for your device and what to do to recover from only download mode.
A quick Google search shows solutions to various problems that sound like this. Try that or go to your device's forum and describe the problem so that people there can tell you what you need to do for your specific device.
As much as I know from other samsung devices, you can use odin in download mode to flash a recovery (cwm or twrp).
then flash a new rom from that recovery and let it root.
I do not own an s3 but if you can get into download mode u can flash a diffrent rom using odin. Just look for it here xda.

In my experience, you don't need to turn USB Debugging on to flash via Odin or CWM. It is recommended to turn it on as a means of getting out of a brick/bootloop when things go wrong.

Pls i need help i switched my samsung galaxy a5 to downloading mode while trying to root using odin3 and i totally forgot to turn on usb debbuging what to i do now, i cant access odin3
I have a massive problem, after days of research i have found NOTHING..
Ok so i had a rooted samsung galaxy s6, i was getting a bit tired of having it rooted (didnt really serve any purpose) so i decided to unroot via the superSU app then i restarted my phone and it hasn't been able to turn back on ever since.. it'll show the logo over and over again when i try to turn it on. I tried wiping the cache partition, wiping the data, rebooting it every single way possible, no luck..
So i decided i had to flash the Rom using the latest version of Odin but the problem with that is that now my phone isn't getting recognized by my computer i have tried installing the proper drivers, changing usb cables, ports, computers.. I even tried installing samsung smart switch and kies but nothing works.
If anyone knows how to solve this problem please help.

Have you tried to get into download mode and run the emergency recovery feature via smartswitch?
I had the same issue with an old S6. The emergency recovery feature asks you the model and serial number of your device and immediately recovers it when you have a bad software restore.

If you can get to recovery mode, you should be able to get to download mode. Serial #s are easy to find with a simple google search. It will depend on what version of S6 you might have.

Your device has a locked bootloader, you can't flash TWRP on a device with a locked bootloader. Don't just assume you can flash anything on any device, there are factors that change what can be flashed or even if anything can be flashed at all.
Your only options are:
1) flash stock firmware via Odin
2) follow this thread to unbrick Verizon S3
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581166
3) send your device to a repair shop that offers a JTAG service.
4) replace the motherboard in your device
5) buy a new device.

It's just softbricked, you don't need to use JTAG or the hard brick guide, just follow the softbricked guide with a ne1 stock ROM. The one by the pagel works perfectly.

The boot from SD card method that I gave you a link to might work in your situation.
Or, you can try buying a USB jig from eBay for $3-5, it's a tool designed to force your device into download mode. It isn't guaranteed to work but if it does you can flash the firmware. If it doesn't then you only lose $5.
If you can't fix it yourself then a JTAG service is your best option, it isn't guaranteed to work either and it usually costs around $50 plus it has to be shipped to the shop, repaired and then shipped back to you.
Or you can buy another motherboard and put the new one in your device. This is an option you can do yourself of you're careful.

There's no reason why you can't get into download mode.
USB jig, or use ADB and force it into download mode.
There is absolutely no way you're hard bricked, booting from an SD card won't work in this case because your phone turns on normally. Just keep trying every method you can find to force your phone into download mode and work from there.

Have you tried pulling the battery out, then holding the volume down+home+power then inserting the battery to "bump" it into download mode?
It's a little tricky but has been known to work pretty reliably.

So i have had my gs7 rooted for a year or longer. Yesterday i rebooted my phone and got the error message "Custom binary blocked by FRP lock". Sadly, when i enter download mode and plug it into a pc with odin installed, it is not recognised. Odin does not say anything about a phone plugged in, and windows says the usb is not recognized.
What i think have caused this:
I downloaded an app that allowed me to record internal audio
I turned off developer options, and my stupid ass did not realize that is where oem unlock is located.
What i have tried:
Resetting to factory settings (from recovery mode)
Deleting cache (from recovery mode)
Using odin, but odin does not even recognize my phone
Tried using another computer with odin
tbh, looking at the other posts, i think i messed up. I dont want to send it in for repairing because i will have to pay a lot of money. I have tried sending it in for repairing a while ago. Then my problem was that i could not call with it, but they wanted me to pay the price for a new phone to repair my old phone, since i had rooted it. I did not accept it so i got my phone back, and managed to fix the issue myself. I hope i manage to fix the issue this time aswell.

SOLVED!
The issue fixed itself, im not sure what i did. I was suddenly able to connect my phone to odin. Just incase someone reads this with the same problem. This is what i did: installed smart switch and rebooted my computer. Uninstalled and reinstalled samsung usb drivers.
Before i did those things the issue was still there, i was ready to use smart switch, but i tried odin one last time and it worked. Now samsung pass tells me my phone is rooted, even though it is not (my root dissapeared after resetting my phone), its not that big of an issue, just thought id let you know
