Roms for BOK3 allready on Lollipop? - Verizon Galaxy S 5 General

I just got the S5,Had an S3 but I destroyed it accidentally, so work bought me an S5.
The S3 was fairly easy to work with, Rooting, installing roms and such but the S5 is much more difficult.
I have it rooted thanks to the XDA threads but am not having any luck with roms. The phone came with Lollipop on it so I know its challenging.
I'm wondering if anyone has figured out the locked bootloader and how to safely install a rom given Safestrap has no rom slots.
Any help would be appreciated!
I rooted to remove bloat and customize. Not thrilled with stock rom

Okay there's a few things... yes there are roms available for OK3 just check the developer thread for all of them it's fairly easy you just flash it in safestrap and you're correct the rom slots were removed because they didn't work instead you save it on your SD card and install it through safestrap the locked bootloader we can't do anything about I believe someone is in legal talks with Verizon about it (I wouldn't count on anything happening though) and you can still remove bloatware download root Uninstaller it'll appear as a red trashcan in the playstore

[Q] Verizon GS3 root

Hi I'm completely new at rooting and was just wondering if rooting using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2332825& would cause my phone to be wiped.
I am not planning on flashing any ROMs, just getting rid of all the stuff verizon likes to put in. Thanks in advance!

When you root your phone you're merely adding administrative access to your phone. You should read more into this before doing anything to your 500 dollar phone.
That method works great! And no you will not lose anything. But like the person above me said, do your homework and make sure you know what you're doing.
Good luck, and enjoy your root access
Oh, and while using the casual root method, go ahead and unlock the boot loader and flash CWM recovery right away. Casual will do this all for you. Just choose the options from the drop down menu.
It'll save your a few extra steps in the future if you ever do decide to try out a custom Rom someday.

[Q] Xposed and 4.4 OTA

The GF got a S3 at my urging and before I knew it she took all the OTAs. I've had mine since release but now with the new bootloader lock I don't want to pork her phone playing around with it. I want to be able to modify it a little but I want to make sure I'm covered. I searched but am still a little confused
Questions.
1: Does Xposed work with the stock TW ROM. I see TW specific mods so I believe so.
2: Phone is rooted but no recovery. What options do I have in order to be able to make a nandroid in case I have issues with Xposed.
3: What odin file do I need in case it all goes bad and I have to start over. All I have are the older versions and as we know, they don't work.
TIA and feel free to point me to other relatively safe ways to mod her phone.
My intent was to get her on SlimKat like I've been running but since the OTA that's no longer an option.

Yes Xposed does work as long as it's rooted, with the locked bootloader you can't run custom recoveries. Your limited to safestrap. Unsure about the odin file

[Q] What is the safest way to get CM12 on this phone?

After perma-bricking it I bought a new motherboard for it so I can get it working again. Yes i've tried everything, beside a jtag, It's gone. I don't want to make a repeat mistake so i'd like to know the exact way to getting from stock android to CM12 on this S III.

So I'm trying to get twrp and cyanogenmod on my 4.4 kitkat sgs3 i535 and from what I have read and tried the only stable version supported is the 10.2.1 and getting that you have to have a custom recovery.(or so I have heard) But I am still trying to get twrp on my gs3 but since it is 4.4 with knox bootloader I am not finding anything on it and if you try (from what I have read) it trips a security fuse and sets a bit from 0x0 to 0x1 and soft bricks it. But thankfully there is this
I thought I had to use it but since my root file system is in read only twrp couldn't make any changes. but there is this to but since it is read only i cant change that platform.xml at all. so this is where I'm stuck and I hope it helps. please post back here if you find anything out. desperately want this bloatware gone and to have some customizability.

these will help a bit as well.
If your phone is on 4.4 kitkat, your bootloader is locked and you cannot install TWRP or any other custom recovery. Because of that, you cannot put CM of any kind on the phone. You are limited to safestrap and just a few Touchwiz based ROMs which can be found in the Verizon Galaxy S III Android Development section.
Have any of you tried using the method outlined on the CM wiki page?

As landshark mentioned DO NOT even attempt to flash any CM rom on a locked bootloader. You have a very high chance of hard bricking the device

Want to root/install recovery/flash ROMs on SCH-I535 - how to do so on 4.4.2?

I looked through the forums and I found a few threads but they said things like "DO NOT USE IF YOU UPDATED TO 4.1.2".
I've rooted my Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition). All I did was flash CF AUTOROOT with ODIN, flashed the TeamWin Recovery, and from there I just moved ROMs over to the device and flashed them from TWRP.
There seems to be outdated info (or maybe I'm just being illiterate) for the SCH I535 because not a lot mentions 4.4.2.
Thanks for all your help! I would really like to try new roms on the S3.

I picked up a used i535 a few months ago as a device to mod and learn. I had no intentions of using it as my daily phone - I'm on AT&T with an i747. I found it was already on the NE1 bootloader and modem, I hadn't read enough before purchasing.
I was able to root it with TowelRoot. Following that I installed BusyBox and then installed SafeStrap Recovery for devices with the NE1 bootloader, see here.
From what I have seen there are three ROMs available to this device on NE1; stock NE1, SuperLiteROM, and Paul Pizz. This thread is a good resource for all but Paul Pizz, which is here. I after installing SafeStrap I flashed SuperLiteROM to the stock slot, it seems to avoid some issues when flashed here instead of a secondary slot. Since then I have installed XPosed framework and have several mods working with no issues.

With the Verizon i535 on the NE1, 4.4.2, bootloader steps 2 and 3 are definite ways to brick your phone. Apparently so is step 4,were you pushing TWRP using ADB?
What was the Android version of the ROM you used for the sdcard debrick image?
What bootloader did you try to install with adbe shell commands?
Both should have matched the bootloader that was on the phone at that time, NE1 in your case. I would suggest trying another sdcard debrick image with a 4.4.2 bootloader and modem.

If you do not have a 4.4.2 debrick image one can be found in this thread.

After the many topics and posts here on xda I still don't get why people keep trying to push custom recoveries to the locked 4.4.2 bootloader. It boggles my mind. I've told probably close to 100 people here about this same issue time and time again

Hi guys- sorry for a little threadjack, but I have a quick question and wanted confirmation.
I have the opportunity to buy another S3 (Verizon) that shows Android 4.1.1 installed.
At what point did the bootloader get locked? I know 4.4.2 is locked, but there's a couple of steps in between.
Thanks-
ah- a bit more googling and I got it- anything past 4.2.2 is locked by q-fuse.

Looks like I'm gonna get a fresh S3!

Right, the 4.4.2 bootloader is locked. I haven't checked any other changes re: restrictions applied earlier than 4.4.2. However, I seem to recall that once you receive the 4.3 bootloader you are no longer able to downgrade to previous versions. I know this is true for the AT&T (i747) and T-Mo (T999) versions of the SGS3. I do not believe that it was locked at 4.3 in the sense that you could not install a custom recovery or a custom ROM.
Do not take any action based on those statements, verify them first. I would hate to see someone brick a phone because I was wrong. (I am certain about what I said about the i747, but I have not searched re: the i535 on 4.3 because mine already had 4.4.2 when I bought it.)
To complicate matters, I just took a peek at sammobile.com ( http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SCH-I535/ ) and saw that there were two versions of 4.3 released for the i535, I535VRUCML1 and then I535VRUCNC1. When you read be aware that what holds true for the earlier version (ML1) may be untrue for the latter (NC1). In fact, count on there being important differences.

Looking for stripped down rom for 6.0.1 without any of that bloatware installed stuff like that, im using SM-G900P.
Anyone point me in the right direction.
Nothing stocked based that i know of. Your best bet is to request a debloat list, and freeze or uninstall system apps with titanium backup.

Thank you!
I went ahead and went with the CM13
So to piggy back off of this thread with out hijacking it, just wanted to say I just got a brand new sprint Samsung Galaxy s5...yay! (Replaced my Sprint Samsung Galaxy s2)... The phone already downloaded and installed 6.0.1 and so far surpringly I really like it.
But as noted above it just has too much bloatware.
I haven't seen a thread on rooting with Marshmellow, so is it safe to assume that I can use the normal method via Odin, root it, then push CWM recovery on it? Or, should I just root the actual phone? (I've always rooted the phone but changed to a different rom, where this time I actually like the stock rom, but just want to be able to get rid of junk, disable camera shutter noise, and be able to back up the phone, then with a later possibilities of flashing a new rom ..etc.)
Thanks,
-Nigel

You should check out this ROM. It's marshmallow, and it has option for de-bloater.
I used the extreme debloat and it took 95% of the stuff i would've removed.
