Tried and tried to get wifi calling enabled on my G900F but it would never work. I got a suitable pit file and resized the ext4 partition so it installed correctly, but icon would never appear even when wifi calling enabled in settings and enabled by EE.
Got a G930F Galaxy S7 yesterday. It didn't come from EE so should have come with BTU firmware (I didnt check - but it didn't come with EE EVR firmware). It's a carphone warehouse one. It's the non edge version.
EE firmware appeared today on sammobile so I downloaded it and just went for it, but I expected it to fail so I had the BTU version of the firmware downloaded ready to flash to recover my phone.
It installed without a hitch (no ext4 partition error) and so far wifi calling seems to work. The icon appears at the top of the screen and when I make a call I have a big icon on the call screen. I need EE signal to completely drop in the house before I'm sure though, and annoyingly their signal is stronger than usual tonight.
Congratulations, great to know that someone has this working.
I'm thinking of moving to EE when my current contract with Vodafone ends.
Meanwhile I tried the same procedure, but flashing the Vodafone UK firmware that's recently appeared on Sammobile. Flashing just the AP didn't seem to work as the CSC remained as BTU and no WiFi Calling. So I tried it again, this time flashing the CSC as well as AP in Odin. I ended up with what must have been the Vodafone Germany CSC (VD2) and still no WiFi Calling feature. Then tried flashing just the 'HOME...' CSC and soft bricked it. Managed to get back to the original BTU CSC using Kies3. So I'm not sure what's going on with the current Vodafone UK firmware from Sammobile. Either I messed up somehow or the version they currently have is not Voda UK. Not a very productive day.
I didn't even know vodafone had wifi calling.
I flashed the whole lot - AP, BL, CP and CSC. I think you more than likely need to, or at least I did it so I'd covered all the bases.
Vodafone wifi calling is available on the Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6's. Via an online chat they confirmed S7 supplied from them (IE running Voda firmware) also has it.
After only just recovering from a soft brick I'll probably wait until updated Voda UK firmware appears on sammobile before having another go. Or until someone else confirms success.
Still, good to know that EE's wifi calling is working.

I'd wait a bit longer. S7/Edge aren't enabled for Vodafone wifi calling yet. Check their S7 forum for details but no announcements regarding S7 wifi calling have been made. I'm sure it will come eventually...
Good to see EE can do it from day 1 although the usefulness of Vodafone Wi-Fi calling for me took a huge drop when I learned it doesn't do text messages. Think I'll switch to EE (BT) come contact renewal time.
Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk
Thanks moonray. Just checked the Voda eforum - what a shambles. And I wasn't aware of the inability to send texts via Voda's wifi calling.
But I think you may have to go with EE direct to get their wifi calling feature as I've read that BT will not have access to it?
Only issue is BTU firmware drops well before carriers firmwares, so you mat be left behind
@buachaille did you flash the "HOME" file too?
No. How do you even flash that file? I couldn't see an option in odin that would allow me to do it.
What does the home file do anyway?

Don't know what the HOME file does but I made the mistake of experimenting with it, tried flashing it as csc and soft bricked my S7. Won't be touching it again.

That shouldnt be EE FW Specific.
I've just bought one of these (via CPW) and on EE. Obvious question, but when my phone arrives tomorrow, I want the EE wifi calling service!
If I grab the fw & flash over odin as usual, I presume it won't invalidate the warranty/screw KNOX etc?

I have no idea. I'm careless when it comes to warranties and because of this I've never cared about tripping Knox.
You are flashing a carrier branded stock unrooted rom so it's not like you are really messing with the phone, but warranties are provided by big business and we all know big business is run and populated by slime who will use any excuse to get out of paying up for stuff. I think they could use the fact that you are on different firmware from that which came on the phone to slide out of their warranty responsibilities.

Agreed, I know what they can be like, even at the best of times! However, if KNOX isn't tripped they won't know! Is there anyway you can just check this in your bootloader to see if it's intact please? No rush!

Hello, in december, one day suddenly i was in the car and i was driving through a zone with a low signal, from that moment, my S6, losed the signal, and died (?). Today, are 2 months that i don't have signal. I have also tried different sim cards, but nothing. After i had this problem, i did a factory reset from the phone, i put a different sim card in the phone and it worked, i saw the carrier, and i received the sms with the internet configuration, after 1 minute i lose the signal, after that, again, the phone didn't wanted to receive signal. i also tried with a romanian SIM (i am from Italy), but nothing, i see the R near the signal bars. if i go in settings and i search the network operators, the phone finds all, but i can't connect (the SIMs in another S6 works). my phone originally had a brand ROM (WIND Italy), so first through Odin i re-flashed it, but nothing. i also tried to flash the fw with no-brand, but nothing. I've tried absolutely all, i did reboot, flight mode, factory reset, Odin, changed sim, i don't know what to do. my model it's the SM-G920F, i have the 5.1.1, i never did root or flashed custom ROMs, the IMEI it's okay. if i go in ''SIM card status'', in Signal strength, the signal moves, but in Service state it displays "Out of service". The curious fact is that, before this happens, the phone worked for 6/7 months normal, without network problems, after i started using this operator (WIND), after a few weeks, it started that crazy story. what can i do? :crying::crying:
Check your imei *#06#

thanks, should i wait for the italy Marshmallow update or install the other already existing? because here in Italy, Vodafone has released the update, should i install this one, or maybe the UK or another? i am on the no brand fw.
Flash any stock 6.0.1 from Sammobile(it won't change Your knox counter) and if it doesn't work take it to Your carrier seller or samsung service repair center. They both will either fix it for free of give You a new one. Mostly odin reflash fixes all problems.

okay, in past, the flashes i did, i just flashed on Odin without doing factory reset (from system or recovery), or deep clean, should i this time? because updating the fw, it updates the modem part, so i think that i don't have to reset it (?), i don't know, also after i did the update, if the network doesn't works, can i downgrade back to 5.1.1 simply flashing again the fw?
Just make sure you are updating the right rom for your model...dont use another rom for another model...this can get you problems after some times...lets say you flashed vod rom on XEF this will give you ptoblems later mybe loosing imei or signal....and if update ota you get updates for VOD not XEF...its just not right...my advice update right rom for you model look sammobile

As of this writing (11/29/2017) this is the latest firmware for the G950U1 att unlocked S8 . I'm leaving this here for reference so people can return to it if/when they need it.
Download, extract, remove .md5 file name off the end of each file, flash.

If I flash unbranded FW on a carrier specific device, loke tmo or att for example, would it sim unlock the phone?
If I flash tmo FW on an att s8 would it in turn allow me to use the att original device on tmo? I ask these questions because I feel like it would work for both my questions since flashing the FW flashes both boot, kernel and baseband/radio. The which is needed for signal. Just some theories but would love to know the answers.
Btw, I have a F model S8+ and was planning on buying some US branded devices so I was curious.

No, it will not unlock the phone (Note: Verizon phones are factory unlocked and remain that way after a firmware flash)
Yes, you can flash any carriers FW to a US S8 and use it with a different carrier.
So I understand, your saying if I flash att FW to a T-Mobile s8 I can use it on tmobile? If that is the case, to me that's an unlock of sorts tiny book lol. Just wanna make sure is all

Just realized the typo.....what I meant was, if I flash ATT on a TMO variant I can use ATT while locked to tmo? I'm very unfimiar with combination fw and always opted for the UK models for alot of reasons. Sorry for the confusion of my op question. I know on the s7 and edge if you flashed the US unlocked firmware it not only removed AOL bloat but it unlocked the device. So that is why I ask.

I had a TMobile S7 edge and flashing unlocked firmware never unlocked the device. That's handled by TMobile servers so...
Flashing unlocked firmware will give you just that. The smoother, bloat free firmware from another device but not the actual sim unlock.
I bought an unlocked device and wanted wifi calling so I flashed the g950usqs1aqf7 att firmware with Odin and it worked to enable wifi calling but I'm unable to get any ota updates and I hate the bloat. Is it possible to get WiFi calling with an unlocked firmware like this one? Also what is the difference between the U and U1 firmware variants?

There are plenty of threads on this, but I don't think anyone was ever successful. I flashed att Oreo to my u1 and got the options, but can't get my company to change my imei back.... My personal phone sim works fine. Quit at that point since it's an Ims registration error. You can try merging the wifi calling apks, but I'm pretty sure it's baked pretty deep in the os. The Verizon guys got some of it working. You can try their threads and see if any of it applies to us.

BTW, can you link to the att oreo fw? And what do u flash that with Odin or comsey?
The thread right below this one entitled Oreo ota has all the details and it needs to be side loaded through adb. Not Odin. But you will need to Odin the 950u base to get off u1

Ok thanks. I need to flash anyways because I'm having terrible battery issues and just debating whether to go to a newer version of 950u or back to U1 and losing WiFi calling. In your opinion is oreo beta worth it
So just to confirm, I have read everything, but I am just a bit confused. If I flashed the unlocked firmware via modified odin on a locked AT&T S8 it will remove a lot of the carrier bloat and give my my wifi hotspot back, but remove wifi calling. Similar to when I flashed the T-Mobile firmware on my AT&T S7 and got rid of a ton of the AT&T bloatware but was able to activate my wifi hotspot but lost wifi calling. I stay locked to AT&T which is fine that is not my purpose for flashing

The links don't work. Any chance you've still got the firmware? I've been overseas since october. I have an unlocked AT&T phone that I intend to keep using when I get back, so I want to keep it AT&T FW.
Hi.
I have a G955U Galaxy S8+ AT&T Factory Unlocked on Android 7.0
Baseband Version: G955USQU1AQD9
Android Security Patch Level - April 1, 2017
I no longer live in the US, and currently in the Philippines. Phone works great and the signal is too and all, but I cannot get OTA updates.
Can I just download the firmware file in this thread and flash straight through ODIN, or do I need to follow another guide?
Hi all
I just purchased the International S8+ dual Sim variant, the G955FD, from eBay.
I live in Canada and will be using both a Telus Sim and a Rogers Sim.
Is there anything I need to worry about regarding the CSC type?
I found this thread, https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ility-flashable-csc-selection-v1-0-0-t3605264
So it seems easy enough - I just don't know if and when I need to change the type.
And should I even be changing it to Telus or Rogers, since they don't have this variant?
And yes this is my first Samsung phone
And input is appreciated!
Edit: if it matters, I don't use wifi calling for either Telus or Rogers. I also plan on simply rooting the phone with magisk to make some mods, and put on Android pay
Just curious. Where was your Duos sourced from?

Great question.
As I did more reading on the device I checked the eBay listing and didn't see exactly where it's sourced from. I should have it in hand by Wednesday and I'll try to validate then. What should I be looking for?
Is there a specific source country that works better than others?

Firstly, congratulations on the new phone. I've got a 955FD as well.
It doesn't matter where the phone is sourced from, although if you want to check, you can go in to settings > about > software information > service provider information and see the CSCs listed there, in this format 'XXX/XXX/XXX'
The first one is the active CSC on the device at the time of you checking, the second one is the CSC for the SIM card currently being used, and the third CSC which can not be changed at ALL is the one from which country the device was sourced.
I'm in Pakistan so for me the CSC format is: PAK/PAK/MID
First two are PAK because that's the CSC for my SIM card and because it's the active CSC on my device, however the last one always remains as MID since that's where my device was imported from.
Canada has no CSCs available for the G955FD sicne it's the Exynos variant and the one sold in Canda is the G955W which is Single SIM and SD835, however the CSCs should work regardless of device variant. You can flash the CSC for whichever is your main SIM card, or whichever you use more often. Either Telus or Rogers, entirely up to you.
The benefits of flashing your carriers CSC is getting stuff like VoLTE and WiFi calling (and sometimes even 4G+/LTE+) to work. No harm in doing it since you're going to root anyway, so make sure to flash whichever one you prefer.
Magisk, rooting, mods, that's all fine, but do confirm properly about Android Pay before actually going ahead and rooting.
Samsung Pay will not work in Canada with the 955FD, and will definitely not work anywhere at all once you've rooted and tripped the KNOX warranty counter. Android Pay can be tricked into working by passing SafetyNet with Magisk, not sure if this still works or not though.
Other than that you should't have any issues.
If you've got any more questions, just tag me or quote this post and I'll be happy to help.

The break down is very much appreciated.
Is there any issue with flashing (via TWRP or Odin?) random CSCs?
Since there is no G955FD in Canada, I don't want to break anything.
I'm very comfortable with flashing and modding the heck out of Android phones, but Samsung seems to be a totally different ball game lol
I obtained a Galaxy S8+ G955FD Dual Sim from e-Bay as well, sourced from UAE. I was able to register US issued MasterCard and Visa on Samsung Pay.
I am on T-Mobile, other than not having WIFI calling, the G955FD works great. Rooting the phone would most likely break the Samsung Pay. So that is a decision you need to make.

No issues at all. Plenty of people in the US using the Exynos variants and they've all flashed the necessary CSCs when required.
Flash TWRP using Odin and then use the flashable CSC selection mod to choose whatever CSC you'd like to flash.

Thanks guys.
I'll assume that flashing TWRP is going to trip knox, right? therefore flashing a localized CSC is going to require me tripping knox.
Which hey, if Android Pay works fine then i don't need to use Samsung Pay i guess.
If i dont change my CSC, then will my phone receive OTAs when they're released in whatever country its sourced from?
Will changing my CSC to a Canadian one mean i'll start seeing Canadian OTAs?
What about manually flashing official images? Do i have to make sure that the file i'm using matches the CSC as well?
And lastly, are the S8 and S8+ images the same file? Or are ROMs for the S8 100% compatible with the S8+?

I'll assume that flashing TWRP is going to trip knox, right? therefore flashing a localized CSC is going to require me tripping knox.

Flashing anything other than a Samsung Stock ROM will trip KNOX. Including TWRP. The Canadian CSC using the flashable CSC selector will have no effect on KNOX since it'll already have been tripped because of TWRP.
If you don't change your CSC, and are rooted with Magisk and have mods, you won't get any OTAs since the phone is rooted.
And no, changing to a Canadian CSC will not get you Canadian OTAs since the Canadian variant has the Snapdragon 835 and the 955FD you're getting has an Exynos 8895, so OTAs and stock ROMs are most definitely not interchangeable.
Manually flashing stock ROMs is possible, I suggest you flash the newest one available when you get the phone, which is G955FXXU1AQK7. And honestly, because there's been a major overhaul in how CSCs work on the S8, you can just grab any firmware and flash it and it'll stay on the CSC your phone came from because it can't switch to a Canadian one without you manually doing it.
S8/S8+ images are not the same and you can't flash S8 images on an S8+ or S8+ images on an S8.
Only S8+ (G955F/G955FD) stock ROMs will work on your phone.
However, since you're going through all the effort to root, change CSC and flash Magisk Mods, might as well use a custom ROM?
They get updated regularly so you don't have to keep flashing the stock ROM, and you can still have root, CSC mods and everything but with a few extra features and possibly better performance.

Great question.
As I did more reading on the device I checked the eBay listing and didn't see exactly where it's sourced from. I should have it in hand by Wednesday and I'll try to validate then. What should I be looking for?
Is there a specific source country that works better than others?

I got my S8+ over Thanksgiving and have been using this for less than 2 weeks. I received an OTA update a few days ago. It was an Android security patch dated November 1, 2017. So, I am getting security patch updates.

So maybe the first think i do is try and see how long i can go without having to root it / put on TWRP.
If i dont touch anything, including the CSC, will i receive OTAs as the source country gets them ? or am i out of band and therefore am on my own?

It's CSC is XSG/XSG/XSG which looks like "United Arab Emirates unbranded"
First thing im noticing is that it's not restoring my Google backups
Is this because it's a samsung phone and i need to use the Samsung backup feature instead?

It is indeed a UAE phone, good place to be sourced from since XSG gets updates fairly quickly compared to other CSCs.
What issue did you face when restoring the Google backup and how exactly did you try to restore it?
Some people have reported that the Samsung Pay app installed on XSG phones works well in other countries, so you can try that out if you want, otherwise Android Pay should work fine.

Yes, i actually just got a notification for an OTA. I think the December security patches.
Which is aweosme, so i'm not going to flash a different CSC because i dont think i need to at this time!
Regarding the backups; I was expecting to log in to this phone and get all my apps that were installed on my last phone.
But then i realized that htis is a brand new phone and i dont have a backup to restore to!
So i just manually installed the apps i needed and was on my way.
Lastly, yes, i just installed Android Pay and it works perfectly fine.
Thanks for all the help!

If your previous phone is an android phone and you use Google ID on that phone, you should have no problem restoring your apps. The Play Store remembers your Google ID and all of your apps should be restored if you log in with you Google ID.
Im noticing now that of my 2 SIM cards, one is usually around 80% strength, while the other is around 50% strength.
is this possibly an issue with using the wrong CSC for my region?
Or maybe since only one SIM can use LTE at a time, the other SIM is stuck on 2g/3g and it just has crappy reception becuase those towers arnt really in use anymore in my area?

Yeah, that is probably the case.
I had taken my 955FD to UAE earlier this year, used my local UAE SIM in slot 1 for LTE, and my Pakistani SIM card in slot 2 so I could still get texts on that number. Battery life did take a significant hit since the signal strength on one of the SIMs was quite low.
Changing CSCs may or may not have an effect on the signal strength. A good way to check is by using the SIM with poor signal strength in another phone with the same network mode, and see if you get the same results, if so, changing CSC will do nothing. If the difference is very large, then you could consider flashing the CSC although I wouldn't recommend rooting your phone just for a CSC change, especially if you aren't facing difficulties in making calls/sending texts/using data.
I have a 955FD XSG also. Using AT&T. I managed to enable VoLTE by quickly putting the sim on an att branded phone and returning the sim to my phone. I now have the VoLTE toggle and calls are placed over LTE but I can't seem to get the wifi calling toggle to appear.

My wife works in a hospital and we used wifi calling because reception was poor.
It's still poor with Tmobile but no wifi calling. When we moved from At&t the wifi
option was greyed out. Tmobile states that it works fine on their network.
Is there any way to get a samsung s7 g930a and a samsung j7-j727a to use wifi calling
on the Tmobile network?
I'm sure it will probably involve something over my pay grade but I am willing to try
anything needed to get this feature to work

If your current firmware has WiFi calling (Volte) You can only use Volte if the network supports it. There are however many apps you can use for WiFi calling look on the play store.
Not sure what volte is, I have had some other issues with the
service that I thought might be resolved by installing a
different rom
Tell me if i'm wrong

Volte is wi fi calling over a network which the network operator supports without the need for a specific app.
Please tell me exactly what you are trying to do
What network are both phones using?
Which networks were the phones on initially?
Have you modified the phones in any way? Root? or TWRP?
What firmware are both phones currently using? Go to Settings>about phone>software information>baseband version G930A????
Sorry for not getting back sooner
Both phones are currently on Tmobile network
Both phones were originally on At&t network
No modification
Samsung s7 g930a baseband version G930AUCS8CRL1
Samsung j7-j727a baseband version J727AUCS4BRL1
Note: Wifi calling was available on original at&t network but is now greyed out on tmobile network

Ok since wi fi calling is network specific (some have it some don't) you either need to have unbranded firmware on your phone so it works no matter which network is providing it, or you need to now flash T Mobile firmware for it to work again on your phone.
US networks are a nightmare when it comes to this sort of thing and it's a right pain in the a** to solve it. So what you need to search for now on here is how to flash different firmware on AT&T S7. You should always try to flash unbranded firmware so everything works easily, if not it will have to be T Mobile Oreo.

Ok, If you think unbranded is the best way to go can you point me in the right direction
updato.com and sammobile.com both host firmware and have flash guides. SamFirmTool also is good for downloading firmware, but only lets you download the latest version and isn't as user friendly.
For unbranded you'll want to look for G930U firmware.
For best compatibility you flash all 4 files using (AP,BL,CP,CSC) this will wipe the phone clean. Otherwise you can try Home_CSC instead of CSC (So AP, BL, CP, Home_CSC) , which keeps your data but may not fully resolve your issues.

What beanvee has said but I think it's worth mentioning I find Sam Firm tool pretty straight forward to use and you'll always get the firmware in separate parts which can be useful.
I found a link for the G930A here
I'm not really understanding the differences in firmware. How is flashing with this firmware
any different than what's on the phone right now?
I am just trying to get the wifi calling to work, How is flashing it with at&t version firmware going
to help me on the tmobile network.
I guess I don't know what I need, stock, unbranded, official or custom rom.
I checked all sites listed and there is no firmware for the J727a, alternative?
I would rather someone more knowledgeable guess what I need to do, if that is what is
necessary because the phones are no good to me without that feature. Any suggestions
would be appreciated.
Each carrier deploys their own CSC file, which contains carrier specific configurations, and its this file that determines if VoLTE or VoWIFI is enabled and how it connects.
AT&T may have different VoWIFI settings to TMobile, which is why using AT&T firmware it doesn't work. Some carriers outright disable it since they don't offer it.
Your best bet would be G930T firmware https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?q=SM-G930T&rpp=15&order=date&dir=desc&exact=1
However unbranded G930U should also work because the unbranded firmware is meant to work on all cariers. G930A would likely get you no where since it'll be AT&T specific
The phones in the USA are all identical hardware under the hood, the only difference is the carrier branding and firmware.
But that's only for the S7, I'm not familiar with the J7.
And it's not through lack of knowledge @JohnAtlas, US phones are a nightmare to do anything with. There are several options available but it's difficult to explain what to do and how to do if you are not familiar with how the software works.
There are many guides on how to unlock the software on all US networks, and depending on the network can include multiple steps to complete, you just have to search and read.
Ok, I was able to find the latest firmware for the G930 phone

That is the system recovery and when you flash with Odin you need to put your phone in download mode first press volume down+home+power. The phone should not go to that screen you have posted either before or after Odin, its a completely different recovery mode.
Get your firmware from updato. Com or sammobile
G930U, filter by USA and choose the latest XAA or USC and use the modified version of Odin. We know this works because thousands of people have used it to do what you are trying to do.
Thanks for info, I used G930U TMK version since we are on Tmobile carrier
It seems to be working fine and wifi calling is available
There is no TMK version for the J727U but will try the XAA for the other phone

Please advise if I'm not on the right track

That's brilliant , glad your up and running.
So the letter "U"after the "G930" denotes the region of the world the device is build to operate in, the Americas just happens to be U. The unbranded firmware is the one that has a region but no network assigned to it, so a 3 letter code is used instead, in your case its USC, or XAA.
Europe is G930"F" or "FD" and the 3 letter code for unbranded is BTU & XEA.
Anyway if your phone is running great on T Mobile then don't update it anymore, turn auto update off. The advantage of keeping it T Mobile is you have the wifi calling, the unbranded firmware needs more fiddling around with the get the wifi calling working on the network your using, so best to stick with what works.
I will have a look for firmware for the J7 you have to see if i can recommend doing something with it to get the wifi calling working.
*update*
So it seems the J727 is the same as the J7 in terms of the internal components, everything is the same in both models so that's great news. I think the "27" bit is just a marketing thing.
In theory you should be able to flash the latest T Mobile Oreo to your device from this link https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-j7-pop/SM-J727T/TMB/download/J727TUVS4BRK1/249137/
Now before we start please check / do the following to avoid further problems.
1. Save everything you need from the phone to your pc.
2. Check that you have OEM unlocked in "developer settings" and "USB debug" enabled.
3. developer setting menu is, settings>about phone>software and information>build number>tap 7 or 8 times, developer menu should now appear. (Sometimes it's somewhere else but build number is what you want to find and tap on 7-8 times).
4. To avoid any issues with device FRP lock, delete your google account off the phone., settings>accounts>google. delete it. When successfully flashed you just add the account again when the phone starts for the first time by signing in.
5. Use the same version of Odin you used to flash your S7.
you can also use updato.com (i think it's slightly faster than sammobile.)
Let me know how you get on.
Remember J727T (TMB) is the firmware you want.
Hi respected members, I'm new here and I need your valuable assistance .
I bought S8+ and when I checked the model version in software it is showing SM-G9550 which is Chinese version not Hong Kong, but on the back of phone G955U is mentioned. For more confirmation I compared the IMEI and serial number which are mentioned on the back of phone and also showing in software information in about phone. IMEI and SN are same in about phone and on back side of phone. I also checked the carrier in downloading mode (after pressing Volume down + Bixby + Power Buttons) and carrier is VZW which is Verizon if I'm not wrong.
I'm foreigner in China and current Chinese version is creating problem in phone that no any update (current is 7.0) for my S8+ software and the latest security patch is 2017, some APPs like Facebook and Whatsapp don't show any notification etc.
I already used Hong Kong firmware in my GalaxyS7 Edge which works perfect and also have Google APPs, but Chinese version don't have Google APPs, and there is no any play store library. To solve this problem, I tried to install Hong Kong based firmware (9.0) but Odin shows error that can't create partition, after reading about this problem it seems that firmware is not compatible with current hardware.
So I want to ask these questions!
1: How I can install Hong Kong firmware in current situation or if I install G955U then will it work in China? and from where I can get unlocked firmware because I'm unable to find unlocked firmware. Reference (https://firmwarex.net/samsung-s8-sm-g955u-9-0-official-firmware/), from this link which will work in my phone?
2: If I used PIT file to install Hong Kong version then is there any security problem or my phone will work well?
3: I'm unable to find PIT file for my current problem. I also need PIT file if first option will not work.
Sorry for too long explanation.
Need your kind suggestions. Thanking you in anticipation.
My problem is seems to be same as https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/help/g955u-using-g9550-firmware-t3766862
Problem solved
I have solved my problem. As mentioned in my question G955U model is using G9550 because processor is same but RAM and storage is different.
I downloaded G955U1 from SamFirm and installed it. Working fine now.
I used this phone in China and Pakistan. The main problem in G9550 I was facing, it was 4G signals strength that were very weak in China and 3G was not working but in Pakistan 3G was working fine but no 4G signal on same phone. May be that was due to different bands. But now after installing G955U1 the LTE signal strength is very strong even better than iPhone X.
Still I'm searching about it that how anyone installed G9550 in G955U as I also tried latest G9550 on same phone but I was failed.

These guys will cross match the csc files to include carrier features for other country's. You can't out right install the 9550 firmware but can add bits of the csc to it. I've seen a bunch of "mutt" frankensteined devices. But don't like to get involved because stuff can go wrong real quick

Agree with you. I want to add bit more that G955U is 4GB RAM and 64GB Storage but G9550 is 6GB and 128GB. Obliviously firmware check the right configuration. Sorry for too long explanation.
Need your kind suggestions. Thanking you in anticipation.
My problem is seems to be same as https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/help/g955u-using-g9550-firmware-t3766862

i have a similar problem too. i have a sm-g995u, i know because it is written on the back of the phone and also in the software info menu. however when i get into the AP and CSC values it says my phone is sm-9550. im currently suffering from poor network and i've currently lost signal. i mean my phone has been displaying "no service" for the past 2 days. I'm currently considering flashing another firmware but scared not to brick my device since i am a newbie with all this stuff.
my device is originally a g995u, if i flash a g995u1 firmware would it work?
what g995u1 firmware did you flash? i need help asap, ive been offline for a while because of "no signal" problem.

Yes you can install G995U1 in your phone. In my case I was also facing poor network issue, no phone call history and no live location for maps but after installing the G955U1, everything is working fine.

thanks man. i was able to flash the G995u1 firmware. However, my problem still remains, i still have no access to network. i cant seem to toggle or change network mode. its stuck on LTE/3G/2G, i suspect when i was on the road the connection to the lte was lost and failed to switch to the 3G. i see alot of people have similar issues.
i sincerely hope it is not a hardware issue like a roasted network chip...
sorry i cant use wechat because i have formated my phone. Kindly recommend any possible solutions please.

These guys will cross match the csc files to include carrier features for other country's. You can't out right install the 9550 firmware but can add bits of the csc to it. I've seen a bunch of "mutt" frankensteined devices. But don't like to get involved because stuff can go wrong real quick

It seems that there is problem with your network chip but yeah you should make sure that your phone hardware is based on G955U. G955U (USA version) and G9550 (Chinese or HongKong version) have same processor. As I already told you that my phone hardware was G955U (Verizon version) but G9550 firmware was installed because I bought it from China. I was facing many problems like slow speed, no live tracking of location using any navigation app, no call history and poor network coverage. After checking the phone I came to know that originally phone is G955U, you should also double check your phone version especially in downloading mode. After all I installed G955U1 (unlocked version) then everything works well. If your problem is same then G955U1 should work well. I installed Android 9 version.
Furthermore if you will try to install other versions like F (Global version) then obviously you will face other problems too.
