Hi ,
I recently bought Vodafone Smart Ultra 6, which is obviously locked to Vodafone. I did all the start-up settings and everything was running fine. Since my actual network carrier was EE ( Orange ) I unlocked the phone, which worked alright up until the point where it suddenly the phone would lose reception and regain it at random times. I thought that since my sim was really old and cut with a template to fit the nano sim requirement, I messed something up. I didn't mind swapping carriers since I wasn't that happy with my tarrif, so I ordered GiffGaff sim, got my PAC number from EE and activated my new GiffGaff sim with my old number.
I know for a fact that the sim works, because I tried it on different device, but my phone acts like it's locked to EE after the unlocking I did from vodafone. Every sim card I insert is unrecognisable by the phone, except the old EE card which is no longer active.
I tried doing factory restore, which didn't do anything.
Dialing *#*#4636#*#* and turning the radio on and off -> still nothing
I have no other idea what to do and I can't find any solution on the internet.
My android is 5.1.1 which I read that has similar problems on different devices, but none of the solutions I found worked for me.
Any help will be much appreciated.
I am sorry if the post is confusing and doesn't make much sense :/
To summarise:
The phone was locked to Vodafone and Unlocked immediately with an EE card inside
Now the phone constantly shows NO SIM CARD - Emergency Calls Only ( tried on GiffGaff and Vodafone Sim )
No Network Connection - Can't connect ( tried on EE Orange after initially unlocking, the sim is no longer active)
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I recently unlocked a Vario III. It was successful in the sense I could insert a new SIM card without it barring me from starting the phone, I do end up getting an error when inserting the new SIM, "Phone Not Allowed MM#6". Does anyone know what that means? I inserted a T-Mobile SIM and while it doesn't give me the error, it doesn't connect to the T-Mobile network either.
I'm mostly curious to know if this is a defect in the phone, network, or the unlocking procedure.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Wow........digging in the graveyard.
Have you check with your carrier to make sure that the sim you are trying to use is enabled for the network and not locked . The sim unlocker, unlocks your phone to use any sim. It does not unlock a locked sim card.
Have you ran the sim unlocker?

I'm in Bolivia. I have a samsung galaxy s, I unlocked with SUperOneClick (for rooting) and sgs tool to unlock it. Then after using a local carrier for about two weeks my phone got the mm#6 error. I was looking for solutions, and then my brother realized that I have to register the phone with the line (IMEI with line). Here in Bolivia exists a law that block phones if they are not registered at someones name and Id. So with nothing to lose, I called assitance of the carrier and register the IMEI I found in the Android menu (About phone>status>IMEI) with the GSM chip/line I have. Wait for 20 minutes and voilá! phone got signal and it's working now. I hope still working from now and on. SO IF YOU HAVE THIS TROUBLE CALL YOUR CARRIER AND REGISTER YOUR PHONE'S IMEI WITH THE LINE YOU ARE USING, IT'S SIMPLE. YOU CAN TRY THAT BEFORE GETTING INTO SOFTWARE STUFF.
HOPE THIS HELP SOMEBODY.
GOOD LUCK!
Hi All
I hope this is the right forum, but am now at my wits end...
I have a UK Galaxy S4 (GT-i9505)... it was factory unlocked and I tested this by trying an EE SIM and a Tesco's SIM (O2) before buying and all seemed good and I made outbound calls on both networks.
Anyway I upgraded via Kies to the current Lollipop ROM (5.0.1) and immediately couldn't always make calls on EE - so as it worked sometimes and not others I suspected that the SIM tray was failing (especially as I was getting 'No SIM card' error ocassionally). So I ordered a new SIM tray and replaced the old one last night - but still have the same error.
Last night it was working on Tesco (O2) and not on EE... then after a reboot it was suddenly all working and so I assumed it was a glitch, but I have played about with it a bit more today and sometimes both SIMs work and sometimes only the Tesco (O2) one works. When I put the EE SIM in it doesnt ask me for a network pin - it usually says "not activated on network". The only consistent thing is the O2 SIM seems to work all the time. When the EE SIM is inserted, the "No SIM Card" message does disappear - so I am sure it is seeing the EE SIM OK. Also - the EE SIM is my main carrier and is working with no problems in my EE locked Galaxy S4 running KitKat - so I am happy that the SIM is OK!
I have checked the IMEI number on Swappa and it shows as not blacklisted and indeed describes the handset as an unlocked S4.
Can anyone help? I cant be 100% sure but I think that when I had KitKat ROM loaded it did on one or two ocassions give a SIM error but this just supported my thought that the SIM tray was faulty. It is only now that I am at a loss
Just for info, here is the other info about the handset;
BB - I9505XXUHOD5
Kernel - 3.4.0-3996895 / [email protected]#1 / Wed Apr 15 20:54:31 2015
Build - LRX22C.I9505XXUKOD5
Any help would be very welcomed!!
Thanks in advance
No thoughts anyone?
OK, will try to downgrade to KitKat and will let you know what happens when I have done it
Thanks

I have the SM-G930FD, carrier unlocked from UAE. It's got the stock android 6.0.1 on it. I bought this phone from NewEgg in the US specifically to take with me to Asia so I can have a Thai SIM for data and my US number available for texts, and also for data when I'm outside of Thailand (yay for T-Mobile and free texting/2G internet). I just got to Thailand yesterday and the dual sim functionality is NOT working
Same issue as reported in the GS7 EDGE version here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/s7-edge-duos-data-connectivity-problems-t3349324 - but I don't see any reports of it happening on the regular GS7
More info:
Slot 1: Thai SIM card (I tried two different carriers)
Slot 2: T-Mobile SIM
I set EVERYTHING to use the Thai SIM, and have both SIMs turned ON. Everything works fine for a few minutes, and then BAM, Internet stops working! It says not connected whenever I try to load a webpage, etc. etc. The phone shows The Thai SIM for voice and text, BUT now it shows the T-Mobile SIM for data, EVEN THOUGH if I go back to the Sim Manager, it clearly has the Thai SIM set for data. And obviously it's not pulling data from the T-Mobile SIM or I would have (slow) internet on the phone. The only way I can fix this is to go to the SIM manager and switch to the T-Mobile SIM for data and then switch back to the Thai SIM. The only problem is that this fix could last 30 seconds, or it could last an hour.
In the thread referenced above, there was no definitive fix. Someone said install the Italy or France Firmware, but others say it didn't work for them.
If I turn off the T-Mobile SIM altogether, the Thai SIM's data is steady. But the purpose of this phone is to have dual sim!
The only other thing of note is that when I go to the SIM Manager screen, it shows my US number for my T-Mobile SIM, but it shows "unknown" for my Thai SIM. I checked the APN settings and they all look good.
Could this be a hardware issue that some people are experiencing? It's too late to return the phone :-/
Same Issue
Hey there. I have a G930FD from UAE and I'm having the exact same issue. I'm getting ready to push SUPERMAN ROM on to it to see if that might fix it. Such a pain.
Just wanted you to know you're not alone.
I recently bought a secondhand phone from someone. It was locked to a certain network so I tried to get an unlock code from two different websites and they both said they couldn't find the code for that IMEI.
I bought a sim card from the network it is locked to and it registers and shows it has signal but I can't make calls or send texts, but strangely enough the very odd time it starts working normally for a few minutes and then stops working again. Since I got the new sim card there has been no problems with the mobile data 3g and 4g.
I brought it into the networks store thinking it was a problem with them but they tried other sim cards and it still didn't work.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Greetings and welcome to assist. It looks like someone else had a similar problem here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/help/network-sim-card-dload-method-debrand-t3532705
It could be a stolen phone with fake IMEI but you could try flashing a different firmware for your device to see if that fixes the issue. The experts here

will guide you
Good Luck
