Hey there, I have finally decided to take off the case from my S6 gold platinum model, got a nice tempered glass screen guard for back side of the device, now it looks damn good, I know it's slippery but I think I can handle it, I guess it's not a wise move but phone looks awesome, what do you guys think, pls share your ideas and opinions.
Does it look different with the tempered glass? I use mine without protector and case and it got scratches on the back. Front got nothing though. Middle frame uhm... some little dents.
You are smart to have gotten a tempered glass for the back
Anyways, be careful!

Yeah thanks, I will be careful, no it doesn't look different, tempered glass seems to be nice so I couldn't find any difference, better you get a tempered glass and protect the phone
It's such a hard choice to make, even I want to take off the case, it feels so good!
I left my case on for now especially since it's my first all glass phone I don't really want to damage it
I dont like extra thickness and weight it adds when you put tempered glass protectors on front and back..
I've dropped the phone a bunch of times without a bcase, granted not onto asphalt. While aluminum is very pretty it dents quite easily, but the screen has held up well.
Can you share the link for the glass back you ordered?
I just wiped the screen on my s6. Feels good. Do u think I can use water or do I need a special liquid from Samsung.?

But I doubt that they deliver it outside India (XDA also doesn't allow me to share the link as per my knowledge), quality was really good though, I got front and back tempered glass for only $5 (here in India ₹299)

Don't use water to clean the display, instead you can use soft cloth to wipe the screen.

I have ordered a dbrand skin for my S6. Was tired of using a case on this beautiful device.
I was being sarcastic man. Do u really need a post to let people know u removed the case of your phone?
I'm using a ~4.50 $ clear case that I bought on eBay. It's all silicone, super thin and looks really good because I still see all my phone. I get to enjoy the S6's design and yet have an excellent grip. No more worries of it slipping or worries when putting it down on a desk.
Yes, Ofcourse its good decision to take off the case. And today smartphone cases is one type of trendsetter of the tech industry. It is also important to protect your precious devices by using glass screen protector and cases.
Decided to put my case back again! After some weeks naked and one big drop, I've got a big dent on the speakers and 2 corners. The aluminum is the worst part of the phone since it's polished. If it had some kind of pattern to hide the dents, that'd be cool, but it's all plain polished! A bumper case would be ideal..

I contacted Mime USA the other day regarding their Feather+ screen protector and if they would be making one for the S5 and I received the following response.
"Hi,
Thanks for reaching out to us! We are currently gauging demand for a Feather+ for the Galaxy S5. If we receive enough requests, we will definitely make it happen
Best,
MIME"
So if everyone interested in seeing this product come to life would head over to mimeusa.com and send them a email asking for the protector we might just see it happen.
Thanks guys!!!

Honest question: What's the difference between Feather and Feather+? Just the rounded edges?
I'm not one for glass screen protectors, but I'll send them an email to help you out.

Yeah, thats basically the only difference. But it makes a big difference in how long it will last. The regular Feather has a tendency to chip on the edges easily if your not overprotective with it and the Feather+ basically just eliminates that from happening. Thanks for the help man.:good:
I just installed the Ghost Glass on my S5 yesterday and I am really impressed by the quality.
I have the feather glass and I am very happy with it. I had it on my S4 and never had a problem with the edges. I also had it in a case all the time. This glass on the S5 sits flush with the home button as well as the bezel around the phone. I don't think you would have a problem with the edges without a case. It's so thin! Thinner than the feather on the S4.

I made a album of what the feather glass looks like on the S5 after proper installation. Because of the raised edge on the S5 you have to be pretty exact but don't freak out if you mess up, you can lift it off VERY CAREFULLY with plain floss and try again.

Lol, sorry I jumped on the defense there.
Yea it worked well for me, I had to redo mine 5 times because I didn't clear the dust off well enough which was causing bubbles and because of the raised lip you have to align the glass perfectly. I used floss to peel it off and just went very carefully only lifting with the floss and was able to redo it several times. I did this before on my old phone and broke the glass because I tried lifting with my finger.
I have the feather glass on my S5, everything works and looks great and it even fits with the otterbox cases.

The feather glass sits flush with the home button so the scanner works just fine. The ghost glass is thicker so it might not work as well. I don't know what will happen with water. I would definitely wait a couple days to make sure it's totally adhered. It may loosen it up or it may not. I would assume it would be fine but I don't know for sure. Even though the phone is water resistant I don't plane on getting it wet on purpose.

Like the last guy said, the ghost glass is significantly thicker when thinking in terms of nm & mm. I have the feather glass on mine and couldn't imagine having anything thicker as it sits flush with the home button as it is now. I've put mine completely underwater, no issues with the glass. As long as you dont have any bubbles around the edges it's air tight, waters not getting in. Take your time putting it on and make sure you clean every single tiny spec of dust. Glass protectors are pretty unforgiving if you mess up. I was able to redo mine several times lifting very delicately with floss however. The lips on the phone make it so if your off by even a nanometer you'll have a bubble.
Hi, this is a review of the amCase Hybrid Bumper Case And amFilm Screen Protector Premium HD Clear.
I received them this week, i like the back transparency, because it lets the original S5 design show, the case has a nice fit and lets very good space to access all ports, also it feels good to the touch and has a nice grip, since the back is solid, also this make it feel like a more expensive product.

I didnt like the case because of its back. It kept giving me goosebumps....its a weird material
I'm thinking about trying this case and wondered how it fits. Also, how is the installation?
Any more info on the Screen Protector?
Recently bought another brand off Ebay and was wondering if the amFilm brand you mention is any better? The ones I got were really hard to align and just did not seem to go down right. This caused the edges of the protector not be sealed down tightly and I constantly get air bubbles in the sides and near the home button. I even payed extra for fast shipping so it was kind of expensive. The ones your talking about are cheaper and get good reviews so I am considering trying them. Did your friend happen to mention how the protectors fit? Or if he has had any problems with air bubbles?

Yes! Thanks for the help. I'll be purchasing this case whenever I get some time. One last thing, do you think this will fit most phones?
Purchased this case the other day and it's great! One of the best cases I've had.
I purchased one and periodically I'd take off the case to showcase the phone's build quality because my friends were curious and today I noticed after owning and using the case for about 2 weeks that it leaves scratches all around the metal band. So now the entire front metal band on my phone is completely scratched up because of this case. So please stay away from this case and save your money for something better.
Well since you started. Ill continue.
The fusion one i got is warped at the bottom where charge port goes.
It fits well everywhere else except there. Im not gona damage my charge port because i have to force a charger in there due to the case firment issues.
Its very slippery and either i have oily fingers or the back of the case has an oil leak like my car.
The one i wanted to check out was the fusion max protect? Something like that.
But the tech21 looks like will get my monies once its available to other vendors

I've been doing some more research and apparently it's not the case but more of small particles of debris rubbing on the soft aluminum finish. So it's not really more of the cases fault and more it happening eventually from any case. either way still disappointing because my entire front looks beat. Oh well i'll learn to live with it.
people dont know how to take the case off so they mess up the phone and blame the case...pretty sure u are takin the case off wrong...if you buy a rinke...and rake it off like a tpu case...its gonna scratch!!!! ...its hard plastic ..raking it off will make it hold even tighter!

Educate the public on how to remove a case then...
I also purchased this case and in 2 days it has scuffed up the sides as well.
As others have said, how do you take off a RingKe case without messing up your phone?
I personally went with Seidio and glad I did. Almost brought a ringke but I'm glad I didn't. Wouldn't have known how to properly remove it. I recommend the OP leave the tittle the way it is. Even if it is the OP using it wrong, word needs to get out that these type of cases need a special touch on them or they ruin the look of your device.

Glad I got my body glove satin case, I often take it out to show friends and not one scratch on white note 4
this is true mine has scraches whenever i remove the case and i dont remove it ofter
TPU is fine, stay away from the polycarbonate cases
Yikes, I'm sorry your phone got scratched up. I have the same case in SF Black and I remove it to switch batteries every night. So far, not a single scratch from it, maybe I'm lucky. I know it's weird, , but maybe it's the way you remove it? I usually turn my phone upside down and use my nail to expand the corner outward, before moving to the top (now bottom) part of the case to do the same.
As others have mentioned, be wary of dust and other particles that may get between the case and the bezels. I always give a quick blow into the case and a wipe with microfiber before placing my (also wiped down) phone back into it.
It sucks that it scratched your phone, but I can't say I've had the same experience, this is my favorite and go-to case for my Note 4.

Also, after examining the edge of the ringke and the iBlason, the edge seems very sharp and I think this is what is causing the scratches. I am going to try and chamfer the sharp edge and see what happens. I think some emery cloth and a little patience will go a long way.
Hi
Is someone so kind to explain the differences between case materials? Tpu, silicon, policarbon, gel, ...?
Is tpu the same as silicon?
Buying from the Internet is a mess, without touching and trying it before.
Thanks

I don't think it's the cases, I think its the environment. Dusty or sandy environments I believe contribute to the scratching. Particles get between the case and the phone etc. Thats why people have such different experiences with the same cases. Ultimately I hope Samsung comes up with a better exterior design that avoids the soft exposed metal trim. I personally would have preferred the black paint all the way around as it has been far more durable for me. My wife will be going with the S6 when it comes out but only if they do away with the current metal trim thats on the Note 4.
Can anyone give me an idea of what this feels like? All the reviews I find are about how you can drop it from such and such height which is cool and all but none of them detail how it feels. Does it feel glass like? Will it start to feel sticky? Does it have a bit of give that makes it feel a bit plasticy?
I have it for my iPhone 6 Plus, I was worried it'd feel sticky too.. but its more a harder rubber... definitely NOT sticky in the least. On the inside, it's a honeycomb pattern (guessing this assists in landing) But it's excellent. I hate full cases and it raises both the front and back on, so it'll never land on the screen or back. but it's still slim, because it's just a bumper.
This bumper + slickwraps will be it for me. Just hoping they get the same dope star wars skins they have for the nexus 6!!
Someone else has a thread on this, but I never really liked the non-glass covers. Having super thin tempered glass is awesome because it gives the same feel and clarity.
I'd have to see the rhino shield in real life to know if it's something I'd rather use over TG.

Oops.. that should be Crash Guard. Bumper on my mind while typing that lol.
I've dropped my phone a few times from waist-height or lil higher. Couple from lap getting out of car. Three of those times my phone has landed flat/near-flat on its' face.
No scratches or any damage from those.
I have a Diztronic TPU case as well. Between that and the Rhino Shield, they've kept my screen intact.
I've had the RS on for so long, I think I've acclimated to it. Still feels very smooth. But I'm sure when I get my 6P, I'll be thinking "oh this is what glass feels like again".... then stick a RS back on it lol.

Every time I've had my TP get cracked it saved the screen instead. You plan on having heavy metal objects fall from above directly on your screen?

No, but it's a scenario that if I could just buy one protector it's better. The Rhino shield from what I've seen absorbs a lot of the impact from things. Imagine you accidentally drop your phone onto a rock or something. Your screen protector breaks and you need a new one and if there's too much force the screen below breaks, rhino shield (supposedly) absorbs it and can take the impact from falling on something better. Using a metal ball is just an easy way to show off the situation.

Oops.. that should be Crash Guard. Bumper on my mind while typing that lol.
I've dropped my phone a few times from waist-height or lil higher. Couple from lap getting out of car. Three of those times my phone has landed flat/near-flat on its' face.
No scratches or any damage from those.

If you could tell me if there's any big difference when you do get it, that would be appreciated. Mainly because $50 is a lot to spend on a bumper+screen protector and I would like to know!
So does anyone know if they're actually making this bumper and screen guard combo (I'd like the back of the phone protector, personally) for the 6p?
I sent them an email and they said they are. Many others have said they got the same email back as well so here's hoping they do.

Yep, they just got back to me confirming they'll be releasing at least the bumper in "upcoming weeks" and that it'll be announced first on their Facebook page.
Hoping they do the whole package so I can get one of their back of the phone screen protectors. Wanna keep that aluminum sexy.
the real product is out and the drop test from 11 ft~

What are the dimensions with the bumper on? I'm looking to get this case and use it with a mount for a camera tripod.

Curious, Is this bumper annoying to game with?
Looks like gorilla glass 5 scratches like no other, so I figured this thread could help others with reviews and recommendations. I saw gpel made an all clear cover, and there's a few similar ones on Amazon. I'll try to update as we get some more time to check quality.

Are there any for the back of the phone yet? Gorilla Glass 5 scratches so easily I think I want tempered front and back (I prefer no case).

I'd personally go for a slickwraps or dbrand skin for the back of you don't like cases. It'll protect it, and you can get something like a leather to still keep the premium look.
thank you for thread , i hope we found soon good protectors
I hope someone will test out some of the crap on eBay, because I sure as hell am not going to pay 50+ dollars for a screen protector.
I ordered this one personally.

I can leave a review on it once I try it out. I'm hoping that a clear protector will function better than the painted ones I've used with the S7E.

Try it out and let us know. If the one I get isn't that great I'll return it and try something else until I find something that is good enough.
Hi Y´all!
I ordered this one yesterday:
https://shop.brando.com/brando-workshop-full-screen-coverage-curved-glass-protector-samsung-galaxy-note7-transparent_p14575c1547d8.html
I´ve had good experience with Brando for the screen protector for my old trusty SGN3.
But the shape of the screen on the SGN7 has got to be a challenge.
On a flat screen a 10TH of a mm / 5 100TH of an inch doesn´t matter.
Here the shape has to be just right for the sticky coating to make a bubble & distortion free experience.
I saw a screen protector review on Youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQXq0ewUJtU
This product tried to handle small differences in curvature etc. by only applying sticky coating on the edges.
I would have to agree with reviewer. That doesn´t work.
With 20/20 hindsight I might have thought to ask Brando about this before making the order - Oh well :fingers-crossed:
Regards
Elo
Can't wait to see the results!!

Yeah. I bought one of those but I think it will be exactly as crappy as the YouTube video above shows. Time to look for some plastic variant... ???

Anyone find one for the back yet?

I got this one. It's terrible. Doesn't sit flush, doesn't stick well cos there's only glue around the edges, and not enough of it, doesn't have cut outs for all the optics on the top. I also got a standard screen protector as well, an iqshield, and that's what is on my phone now.

I ordered the same one. Hopefully it will work well.
On the other hand, I currently have a Skinomi one on mine (wet application). I'm using masking tape to hold down the edges as it dries and adheres. So far it's almost invisible because I took my time. No rubbery feel either. If my case works well with it I might not even install the glass one.
Leaving the plastic sticker on the back glass for now, though.
Edit: Just read the comment above mine regarding the same TGSP
FFS enough with the tempered glass screen protectors. They all suck and will always suck.

I'll take your word for it. Anyone who owns a blackberry knows all about crappy products.

Sucks to hear. I've got an IQ shield as well for a backup just in case.

I think I might go with a skinomi cover for the back of mine. Not sure which color will look best with the coral blue.

So far the IO shield full body is doing its job on mine. Looks good. I have this glass one on order and it should be here today. I'm hesitant on pulling the IO shield off because it's doing it's its job but I have had glass for the last 3 phones and never had a break / scratch. They work much better than plastic.

Lol I meant to write "whose owned". Just got up, sorry.
Either way if I see the screen protector has that tape only on the sides I'll probably just return it.
