I have a G920F at the minute which suffers from poor reception. Now a new modem OF8 have been released for the G920I that improves the poor signal issue. Upon checking out the 2 phones the G920I modem has all the bands that I need even though I have a G920F. LTE 1800/2300, 3g 2100, 2g 900/1800. So Im wondering is it safe to flash the G920I modem.
Do not flash ROMs other than made specifically for your G920F.
Hi,
I am in Australia and I got an unlocked Spring Galaxy S5 g900p which I was using with Vodafone AU on 4G.
Last night I updated to the latest g900p firmware using Odin to get the stagefright patch and afterwards I am only getting 3G. The "Global" network mode is gone and was replaced with "Automatic." Is there a way in the system where I can re-enable "Global" or atleast LTE Band 3? I am rooted with the latest stock firmware.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
you can, but apparently you need to do some work with odin.

Hi,
I was thinking, since the Verizon note edge and Sprint note edge are basically the same phone in terms of hardware and the sprint variant is the only one that has the FM radio chip activated (I guess it is activated by firmware).
It would be interesting to see if some dev can make it possible to flash the radios of the sprint version on the Verizon version.. Maybe that could activate the FM radio on the Verizon. I know doing it would probably cause issues connecting to the Verizon network or getting 3g/4g.. but it would be a fun experiment. I tried it myself extracting the tar of the official marshmallow rom for the Verizon variant and replacing the radios for the Sprint radios and then creating the tar again, but it failed when trying to flash the radios.. I guess Odin does some sort of verification of each file being flashed..
Hello,
I am going to attempt to Flash my Sprint S7 Edge with current Firmware version G935PVPS8CRK1 to the Unlocked firmware of G935UUES8CRK1 as I have ported out of Sprint and need to enable all LTE bands for a different network now.
My questions are
Can this be done for the above firmware versions and will it enable all LTE bands if successful ?
In the SAMMOBILE page, there are different variants for the SMG935U including one for Sprint. I was assuming that all 935U variants would be identical, but I guess I'm mistaken. So, should I download the Sprint version of SMG835U or something else ?

Never mind, I was able to flash the G935UUES8CRK1 firmware. Also, in Odin I tried with the HOME CSC. Although Odin showed a successful status, my device went into a dm verity boot loop. Then I had to flash it again with the regular CSC file and it worked.
I'm about to do the same thing, were you able to use LTE and VOLTE? Or access other bands that didn't work while on the sprint firmware? Right now i have the sm-g935p and am using it with t-mobile. I can only get 3g speed and have voice working or LTE with no voice.
Yeah, LTE was working. Band 40 which was otherwise disabled in the Sprint firmware was open and LTE Discovery app confirmed it. Not sure about VoLTE.

Yes. The bootloader was updated a few months ago. There is a thread here with files and instructions.

I just bought a used S7. I was told it was the Sprint version, but when I checked it it turned out to be a Rogers 930W8 with an Exynos 8890 which is a little faster than the S820 in my other phone.
Did I actually get lucky with this version or would the Sprint be better?
I would like to have it fully functional on Tmobile including all bands such as LTE band 12 and VoLTE and Wifi calling.
With Sprint the plan was to flash the stock Tmobile firmware.
Is that still an option with with the Exynox?
Do I even need full firmware and would flashing just CSC files to get me VoLTE and wifi calling.
Also, is the bootloader unlocked on all Exynos phones, and if so, is there an even better option than Tmobile firmware to give me everything I want?
Thanks
Flashing T-Mobile firmware won't be possible because it's developed the snapdragon SoC specifically, you'd brick the phone trying to flash it onto exynos, assuming Odin would even let you flash it at all.
Same goes for the CSC, you will need it for VoLTE and VoWIFI but you'd brick it trying to flash via Odin. Your best bet would probably be flashing TWRP and flashing the CSC zip if it's still being updated.
