Since, i find all over the internet all HTC One X games optimized for Tegra 3, there is no such thing as for our S4 Chipset.
If you guys find any list it here, maybe we can continue this thread as a list of S4 optimized games for ONE X.
List of HD games that are working, not s4 exclusive though, shows off some graphical power of your HOX
Shine Runner
Riptide
Fruit Ninja PiB
Inertia: Escape Velocity HD
Samurai Vengeance II
Cordy
Sleepy Jack
NBA Jam
Sega Virtua Tennis
Shadowgun
Cut the Rope HD
Where is my water
I suppose the obvious title would be Shadowgun, which does look downright impressive on even with the non-Tegra 3 version, but here are a few other games I've been playing a bit on my One X:
Inertia: Escape Velocity HD Really awesome platformer, looks good and plays great on the One X. My only complaint is that even after paying $3.99 for the "full" HD version, there are still level packs to buy in the game! Lame! Still, a very awesome game and there is also a free/"lite" version if you don't want to shell out a few bucks for the so called "full" version.
Samurai Vengeance II This game is a bit older, but I'm just finally getting around to playing it. There is a THD version for Tegra2 devices, but the "standard" version looks awesome on the One X. I really don't see how a Tegra version could look any better. Pretty fun gameplay too.
Cordy Looks and runs great on the One X. Performance wasn't quite there when I tried playing on my Captivate, but it's a lot of fun on the One X with the really fluid performance.
Sleepy Jack From the same developers as Cordy. A shooter-on-rails of sorts.
I really am impressed with the quality of the gaming experience on mobile phones these days. Just a few years ago, I never would have imagined we'd be playing such awesome, and relatively sophisticated, games and yet here we are - the hardware capabilities are just growing exponentially.
Haven't had any problems with Sega Virtua Tennis and NBA Jam.

Thanks all. Added to the list of games working. Cordy is beautiful btw
Totally lagging!
Hey guys, my AT&T One X seems to lag quite a bit during games. Does this happen to you?
In Cordy, it will drop a few frames, making the movement barely fluid.
In Temple Run, it will often freeze, in game, to where I lose!
In Osmos, It will drop frames badly!
What is the deal here! Antutu and quadrant show this phone kicking arse. But I have NOT been impressed with the crappy Adreno GPU!
Does any one else know what I am talking about? Does this just have to do with optimization?
MX player won't work in HW rendering at all! Software rendering is sooo slow and buggy! What is happening????

if you are not playing a MP4 file, MX player obviously cannot enter HW acceleration....
talking about the adreno...it actually served me well...720p mkv with .ass subtile runs just fine in MX player, and for games like shadowgun and NFS hot persuit it has performed flawlessly....I'm running a rogers device, so I don't know what AT&T did to their phones.
At&t didn't do anything besides add bloat that is easily disabled. My phone runs great with every game you mentioned. There was a point in which my main homescreen page was so choppy it was unbearable. I removed the weather widget, rebooted and noticed there was a gallery icon that was somehow hidden behind the weather widget. Removed it, re added the widget, everything is peachy keen again.

This should pick up soon I believe. In the US, most of the top end phones will be running on the S4 this year. Too big of a market to pass up I think.

Does anyone know if 9MM shows up in the game launcher? I have been considering getting it but really only want games that show up in the Xperia Games Launcher. Also can anyone who has played this mind giving me your thoughts on if this game is good and or worth the 6.99 price tag. Thank you in advanvce.
I believe it does not show up. Max payne is way better anyways

I loved Max Payne 10 years ago and promptly got it this morning, but had always wondered about 9MM, maybe I will let it sit on the back burner again for a few more months...... Thanks for the reply on the games launcher
9mm does not appear in the launcher and its an old Gameloft's bug. There were many complaints about this (see gameloft forum f.e.) and they don't even bother about this...
Sad.
Anyways, I have Max Payne and it's better.
Sent from my beautiful Xperia PLAY using Tapatalk 2
Yeah not in the Launcher. Its an ok game, the acting is a bit worse than the average Gameloft game, its kinda cheesy, it also was a little shorter than I expected but not too short, I think I knocked it out in like 3 or 4 hours (spread over a week or 2). The slow motion action thing is kinda cool, it is fun, but not amazing. They sent me it for free for some problem I had I don't even remember. I probably wouldn't pay $6.99 for it.
That answers my questions, I will stick with Max Payne, as it is and will always be an awesome game. Thanks for the advice ya'lls.
9mm is fun to play, controls are good but its very short. However there are NO typical gameloft bugs in the game. Similar to compare gta3 and gangstar rio.
Gesendet von meinem R800i mit Tapatalk 2
I personally didn't find any disturbing bugs with 9mm. I think it was a good waiting game for Max Payne... if there was a term like that.
And why does it cost $6.99? All my Gameloft games cost only $2.99 on their Wapshop.. could that be region-dependent?
Doesn't show up in the launcher and it's pretty good, but £5 good? No, no Android game is. You should have got it Easter when it was free.
Hey guys,
I had this on another forum, but unfortunately that forum has moderators who take their job way too seriously and the topic was moved to a dead section before I could get more than one reply. But that's not important, so...
I am looking for everyone and anyone's experiences with Shadowgun THD on this device. I was digging through the Play Store's reviews and saw a ton of TF201 owners who couldn't even play the game (and a few that recommended it oddly enough), and the one TF700 review I was able to find said he experienced some lag and force closes.
Have any of you guys played the THD version on your Infinity? Experience any issues? Is it worth the (supposedly minor) graphic enhancements?
I have not purchased the normal version, I was holding out buying the game until I got this tablet, but now I am not sure if the increased graphic display will drag down gameplay. The bit of experience I had with a Madfinger game is DeadTrigger. Even though this game is not specifically a Tegra version, I am able to play on the Ultra-High graphics setting with no issues. I will say this, watching zombies fly backwards after being shot with a shotgun on an Android device is damned impressive.
Any experience or thoughts is greatly appreciated. The one reply I received on the aforementioned board was that the user experienced no issues, but I would like to hear from as many people as possible. Thanks!

No problems for me except the game isn't outputting native 1920x1200. It looks to be an upscaled 1280x800 so it will look relatively blurry on the infinity's screen.
Plays fine on mine. Especially fun using one of my PS3 controllers through the Sixaxis app

Yeah the main reason I'm getting this game is because it is one of the few shooters with gamepad support, which is way more snappy than touch emulation.

I sometimes have trouble getting this game to play smoothly after I start shooting. If I reboot the tablet or just clear all running tasks using the task manager, it plays very well.

Kind of related, I just tried Auralux for the first time on my JB TF700 and it laggs like hell, every 5 or 10 seconds it freezes, anyone else with this problem? I thought this was a "famous" game everyone has, but I doubt it if it laggs like this.
I never played Shadowgun THD for too long on the TF700 cause the framerate is way too low. I also experienced a few crashes. The weird thing is, I played this game a lot on my HTC One X, and never had any low framerate or crash issue. I know the screen resolution on the two devices is different, but as someone mentioned before, Shadowgun isn't displayed in 1920*1080 on the TF700.
I had no issue in Dead Trigger. The framerate is much more solid, even if the resolution of the game is higher.
I also played all the free levels of Auralux, and there was no freezes, the game was really enjoyable. However, in Beach Buggy Blitz, it's impossible to max the graphics settings if you want to keep a decent framerate. Once again, no issue on my One X, but unlike Shadowgun, the game is displayed in Full HD on the TF700, where it's "only" 720p on the One X.
Absolutely no problems with shadowgun or NOVA 3... after jelly bean update NOVA 3 flies!
interesting post as i play the regular Shadowgun on my tf700 with no problems. the graphics actually look really good and game play has been solid for me. i actually just emailed the game developers yesterday because i thought i had the THD version and realized it was the regular, i was requesting if they could help with switching, which they agreed to do (buy THD and they will refund the regular). but now im having second thoughts after reading this post. i may buy it, see how it plays and return if not as good or better.
i also play Dead Trigger and the graphics and game play are excellent on it as well.
actually, all my games are playing MUCH better after JB update. this is my second tf700 (the first had accidental damage and was replaced via squaretrade) and actually things on this one seem to run pretty good overall.

Hmm that's weird, any idea what the problem might be for me? I've tried to close all tasks with the stock app manager and closed all tasks in the task bar. I play the game but it's annoying as hell when it freezes every 5 seconds. May it that it's a hardware problem? Auralux seems fun to play...if it would work.
I just tried Dead trigger also, and it also tends to lag...don't think it did before JB update though.

So, to be sure, I restarted Auralux... and yes, there are freezes indeed. Maybe not as often as you describe, but freezes nonetheless.
The only thing that has changed between the last time I played Auralux and now is that I upgraded my tablet with the official JB update. I don't know if it's related, or even why it would be.
Maybe someone with a custom JB rom could try the game (it's free) and tell us if he's also facing such freezing issue.

Good luck. Hopefully one of the mods here won't move it to the Q&A forum effectively killing it. I wish that forum didn't exist, the mods have killed several of my threads that had just gotten going in generating some discussion by moving it to the Q&A forum which basically stops the thread cold. That is a write-only forum on this board.

I have the non-THD version and it is awesome. The reviews you saw where it was failing were probably due to ICS NVIDIA driver bug that effectively made the TFs under ICS unable to play 3d games.

Has anyone tried playing Shadowgun THD in cleanrom? Does it make any difference in performance? I know the benchmark scores and general tasking is much faster and less laggy.
I'd just like to say my game runs like a dream. JB + root, nothing else. The rest is stock

I can tell you this aint gonna work. I tried a lot of different setups using the "trinus vr" app and also used my old moto g 4g (which have a gyroscope) strapped to my head.I tried using compas, accelerometer, gyroscope and it all was buggy, tilting and shaking. You will also realize not many apps are available for android and the ones that work are only fun for 5 mins. Buy a carbox for a few dollars and have the same result. I returned my homido vr set after playing with it for a few days.
really?to be honest dude,this isn't something I want like a crazy...but as it is cheap enough...I thought I give it a try..it's ok i'll wait for something new,thank you!!!

Those vr boxes are doing exactly the same like google cardbox, only difference is that its made of plastic. You have some free apps to show your movies in a side by side view, but it doesnt create a 3d effect.
Most phones have a bad calibrated gyroscope that spoils the fun using a cardbox ( tilting and shaking),
For watching movies you dont need the gyroscope, but its very adviced to use a game controller or you must take your phone out of the vr box everytime you want to start, stop or pauze the movie.
