Hello
i need help and i know that here are some audiophiles
i have desire and i want to buy some earphone to 40€+-30%
cant decide between in-ear and on/over-ear and i dont want some ****ty chinese stuff
can anybode help me?
thanks
I prefer to have over/on-ear headset since not every in-ears can fit my ears.
Lots of in-ears fall easily from my ears, getting the one which fits well is difficult as hell for me.
For these price range I suggest these on- and over-ear headphones:
1. Sony XB300 or 500 (I have a XB300)
2. Koss porta pro (My sister has this)
3. AKG K420 (not for big heads)
I am wearing XB300 for daily basis (subways, streets, etc.) but using Sennheiser PXC450 at home or for long journies especially on airplanes.
PXC450 is one of the best headphone have ever bought
I would highly recommend the Sennheiser CX400II!
These are in-ear and come with 6(!) sizes of rubbers for it. They cancel A LOT of voice. If someone is talking right next to you and you're listening to music you hear about nothing. Also the sound quality is very good, if you like bass, it's definitely a great set!

Price will be (in the Netherlands) around €35
thanks for replies guys
i was thinking about akg k420, but they are plastic and i would brake them sooner or later
Sony XB500 and Sennheiser CX400II look really good, now i cant decide :-/
I would recommend to think also about buying the Koss Porta Pro. I bought it for round about 25 € and I think the sound is better than my 100 € Bose Headphones.
I didn't expect much, but it has a brilliant sound and I was really, really surprised.
There are also 10 years warranty... Easy to carry and there's a bag and a 6.2mm adapter included.
I use the in ear Sony MDR-ex300! Perfect sound and powerfull bass.

I don't know but maybe there is a place you can test several types? We can tip a lot of things but all our ears and tastes are different.

I have ordered this ones: hxxp://xxx.head-fi.org/t/576532/fxc51-review-a-supreme-value
I have read great things about this too: hxxp://xxx.koss.com/en/products/headphones/ear-clip-headphones/KSC75__KSC75_Ear_Clip_Headphones

I like the ones that came with my Desire....and when they stopped working I rang HTC who were more than helpful and sent me a replacement pair for free
As an old-school valve amp & vinyl audiophile and former high-end hi-fi salesman, I suggest you need to be asking yourself the following questions:
1. What kind of music do you listen to?
2. How much looking isolation from external sound would you like?
3. Do you like your sound to be really neutral or "coloured"?
4. Do you have equalisation in your ROM or music app?
We've found the Koss Mirages are a great price, have a punchy dynamic sound with good external isolation, and are quite comfortable. Koss also have a great replacement policy.
I've just bought some Yamaha EPH-50's and am surprised by their great low frequency response and smooth natural highs. They convey a nice sense of space (as much as can be had in an earbud).
In terms of frequency balance, the lows are surprisingly deep and clean. They are a bit mid-bass heavy though, and they lack the high-frequency sizzle that some people incorrectly perceive as "clarity". Cymbals may appear a bit recessed but could be augmented with a bit of top-end EQ in your player. Despite this the top end still delivers a lot of detail.
Vocals are especially good and the more subtle nuances of well-recorded acoustic instrumental tracks are nicely defined and rendered. Bass drums have good punch on the right recordings.
Overall I find them very satisfying for relaxed non-fatiguing listening over a good period of time.
They also seem quite efficient on my HTC Desire (not renown for their ear-splitting volume) ... for me they are plenty loud at about 50%.
The only thing I'm not sold on with them is the are a bit fiddly removing as where the cable enters the driver is shiny chrome plastic that is a bit hard to grip.
I use Monster Turbine for daily usage and these are the best in-ear headphones I've ever heard. They are really useful and bring natural highs as well as a good bass.
I prefer in-ears from Sennheiser (about 50.-) and normal, heavy headphones with heavy bass from Sony at home.
I don't think the Desire is all that great in terms of audio though, so I wouldn't spend to much there.

i recommend getting the on ear headphones from Energy Sistem DJ 400. My friend has them and he let me try them on my Desire and the sound is phenomenal If u listen at 100% u cant hear anything around you and also what music you hear all others around you can hear it too. Their price is around 12-13 euros in my country..
I use a set of Beyer Dynamic MMX100 In-ear phones/headset- excellent set of headphones, I find Sennheisers to be slightly too transparent/tinny and all Beyers seem to be slightly warmer- good enough for the majority of the music industry/music studios etc then good enough for me
They are usually £120 RRP, but if you look on Amazon.co.uk, one seller has them in stock and selling them for £79.99 with free delivery (Amazon currently selling them for £102.11).
for on-the-go earphones, IEM are the best. Off the bat, I would recommend something from Westone.
But since there is a budget involved, something from Ultimate Ears or Klipsch would be good.

I wouldn't go with these Sony ones. Reviews state the sound is brilliant, but then both ear pieces die in a couple of months.
I'm using some No Fear earphones, like stated before...Desire isn't an excellent audio device so I'm ok with them ^_^
Sennheiser CX 300-II Precision.

Best way to spend $20 I've seen yet.
I just bought these babies for the Sensation to replace the crappy stock headphones. The difference is just truly night and day. The soundstage is staggering, the bass is clean and not too overpowering (it complements the mids nicely), the mids warm, the highs are crisp. Overall, the headphones are really balanced with a slight emphasis on bass that fits my appeal perfectly.
It also comes with: extra ear fittings, an audio/mic splitter, a small black travel pouch, and a microphone which I haven't tested yet.
Ultimately, this headphones is a steal at $34.99. Superb value. Highly recommended.

I saw them selling locally at Compusa, something tells me they are the same S4 with just the outside ans controls being different.
I own the S4 and god, the sound is impressive. Perfect for listening to all my Black Sabbath FLAC albums.
mic working?
can you post something once you've tried the mic? I can't seem to find a definitive answer on whether or not the mic works on android phones. thanks.
works with mic also if you download Headset Button app you can also increase volume change track answer end call and mute mic same specs as Klipsch s4 and Klipsch s5

I don't understand about all the fuzz around the Klipsch S4. There are so many review saying how good it is and it's a must buy. And when I bought it, I was very disappointed on the sound quality. I mean I can see why people like it so much, because the bass is pretty good and it's comfortable with good isolations. But I find it lacking mids and highs. I keep the headphone anyways hoping burnt-ins will help, but it didn't even after half a year. I now own the HiFiMan RE-0 and very satisfied with it.
The RE-0s are very neutral and a lot of people like them for that reason. I usually recommend those to people who don't like the S4s, and they're usually pretty happy with it

Yes!! Neutral! That's the word i was looking for. It's the same thing with the Audio Technica M50. So many good reviews, and yet i hated it. I bought the Audio Technica AD700 for movies and games, but i find myself using it for music much more often than the M50. Now I know what to look for when shopping for a headphone. Neutral!
Damn... shipping costs to the netherlands are 60$... not so cheap anymore
Thanks for the review! I saw this add on Black Friday, but was hesitant because I once read that companies sometimes try to make products that look the same so the consumer will think that they are re packaged, even though the hardware inside is much cheaper.
Hi,
Anybody have tried Klipch s4a for andriod phone? does it mic work with sensation?
Is this Klipsch Promedia is same as s4?
Works just fine here using the s4a
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
Yeah guys, my promedia's mic works with androids
and... the mic is clear and good enough. It's as good as my standalone logitech clip on
I got the s4a and I absolutely love them. The app you use with them is slow on the pick up when it comes to pressing the button, but they sound great and the mic works very well on the Sensation.
Much better than Beats in my opinion.
Hi, I'm lookin for cheaper Pioneer over ear headphones. If someone has good experience with any, please care to share. Thanks in advance!

Yes, today tested many sennheisers, they are not expensive and the sound is great. Just have to decide which one I will buy.

nowdays there are a lot of option of sennheiser.... i have one sennheiser earphone and one sennheiser headphone.... the earphone is cx300 and the headphone is hd215... i personally dont recommend you the hd215 because the treble is louder than the bass and it is actually ideal for dj's or for watching movies with lots of conversation when you really want to listen to the treble sound... My cx300 on the other hand is superbly ideal for mp3 and any form of music... unfortunately it is not an over ear headphone,it is an in ear headphone.... just make sure when u r buying your headphone u know what u r using it for and ask the sellers what is ideal for... If you want to listen music on your sensation then just go with any sennheiser headphone that has super bass, power bass or bass on its packaging...
Thank you for helping me. After reading this review:
As a semi-pro acid-trance/techno and drum & bass DJ and promotor for 20 years, and a total Audiophile, I wasn't expecting too much from these, coz as a rule you do get what you pay for. But sometimes rules are meant to be broken, and these babies SMASH the rule book to bits! They have the same tech specs as Dr Dre's Beats and the shape, size and comfort of the seminal HD 25's by Sennheiser. Having owned a pair of the latter, at £130, I wasn't expecting the HAS4X's to lay at the HD25's feet, let alone stand up to their shoulders! So, in laymans terms, what does all this mean in terms of sound? Alow me to help:
Low-end/Bass: The bass is strong, powerfull and amazingly tight, controlled and damn LOW, with a fast, punchey attack you just would never expect under £100! Add this to the fact that the bass NEVER becomes overpowering or gets in the way of the other frequencies, and the low, and even sub-bass low-end is catered for dynamicaly. Very impressive.
Low-Mid/Mid Range: This is the area that is the hardest for any headphones and speakers to reproduce without making it too weak, which makes it sound hollow, or too strong, which sounds too harsh, bright and down right awefull. These HAS4X's reproduce Mid frequencies with aplomb! Acid sounds are notoriously unforgiving, as they use all frequencies, from bass to treble, but mainly hang in the mid range, so if the mid is off in any way, you just won't get the spikey texture right, and I have to say that my Neurofunk d'n'b collection sounds fantastic through these babies! Guitars are handled with the same fidelity and controll, and again , my metal collection sounds awesome. I'm hearing instruments I never knew were in the song! There's Plenty of body to the sound, while incredibly managing to retain a good amount of transparency! Again, unheard of for under £100!
Treble/High end: The biggest mistake people make when reviewing ear/headphones, is not alowing them to 'run-in' for 24 hours. An engine won't run to it's best ability untill it's warmed up, and the same rule aplies to ALL music equipment! When you first listen to these, you may feel cheated, as although there is treble, it's not the over-bright, 'splashy' treble most people are used too with sub £100 'phones. WAIT!! Keep using them and you will start to realise that actualy, these have fantastic treble controll! They manage to reproduce the exact high end frequencies without adding any artifitial hiss, or splash. What I was Most impressed by was how capable these are at handling 'transients', like cymbal crashes, snare rim-shots and hi-hats etc. transients are the short, sharp, sudden and crisp treble sounds that normally get completely lost in the mix and even when they are present, they tend to sound splashy and loose. The HAS4x's handle transients astoundingly well! cymbals, rim-shots, snare drums and even triangles and tamborines can be heard CLEARLY in busy tracks, without being overpowering, and are sharp, controlled and have good attack.
What else can I add? The stereo soundstage is nigh-on perfect with an almost seamless blend throughout the frequencies, and even though these are not 'bright' sounding, don't mistake that for sounding muffled, as they are very open and airy. I really can't fault these headphones, as they sound as good as most in the £100-£150 bracket. they are also SOLIDLY built, with a rugid feel and thick, shielded OFC cable that has nice thick rubber protection at all joints and terminals, as well as a gold jack plug for a quality connection to your Mp3 player, stereo amp etc. And they are really comfortable (and I've got a large size head!). I was even able to jump about and dance without them even moving, let alone falling off. I love these, and am SOOOoo glad I got them. I hope you are too, as they are destined to be a much talked about contender, and in my opinion, VICTOR, to Dr Dre's Beats! They look kick ass too, which is always a bonus. 10/10 from me :-D Hope this has helped. Going back to listen to my zen now through my lovely new HAS4X's to enjoy more quality sounds again ;-) 'Thagoatboy' B. Waters
I bought :JVC HAS4X Xtreme Xplosives On Ear Headphone. I have Sony BT reciever with 3,5 mm output and my plan is to use them together. I will write feedback, maybe next week.
Since the Nexus 6P comes without headphones, I was wondering which headphones everyone is using, and how much did it cost them? Would you recommend them to others? If you have tried more than once pair of headphones (wired or wireless) which one would you recommend?
I'm using the XBA-A3's at work and on the go: http://amzn.com/B00FJISZ28 They use a hybrid driver - pairing both a dynamic driver with two balanced armature drivers to create a fantastic sound.
I wear them about 6 hours per work day. They are by far the best sounding headphones I own. That's saying something, as I also own Sennheiser HD 650's, AudioTechnica ath-m50x, Shure SRH-840, Blue MoFi's, and Vmoda Crossfades which I use with my laptop and various portable/desktop headphone amps/dacs.
In searching for the best earbuds, I purchased and returned the RHA t20i, Shure 425s, Sennheiser Momentums, B&W C5s, and Audio-Technica ATH-CKR10... none of which were bad by any stretch of the imagination. The Audio Technica CKR10s are the closest to the XBA-A3, in my opinion. The XBA-A3's have an edge in mid and high end clarity in my comparisons. Balanced armatures for the win. I also prefer the over-ear wire guide and detachable cables. Also, most of those listed above don't have an in-line mic, which the Sony's do have. So, the A3's won, and I'm loving them daily.

Sennheiser HD800's with a chord Hugo amplifier.
~$2200 and sounds wonderful. Would recommend it any day.
I've always used my Audio Technica ATH-ESW9 for whenever I'm away from my T1 at home. They're around $200 new and I got mine for $120 like new off of Amazon a couple years ago. One thing I've always like is the sound signature of the ESW9 deviates from the rest of the Audio Technica offerings, and it's an absolute joy for listening to acoustic instruments. Brownie points for using real wood too. Along with the durable lambskin leather, part of the reason why I prefer them for portable use, the ESW9 provide decent isolation without muting your surroundings when they're properly seated on your ears. Call me paranoid, but too much isolation is why I don't use earbuds; I see it as a hazard.
LG HBS-810, paid about $85, plus $15 for some comply foam tips. Can't complain.
Sony XB-90EX (About 120$ import) with Gain ramped to 5 and the new powerAMP, I think I'm sold until the hybrid tips wear off.

I'm a basshead and this is my first "In-ear" monitors. I've also been and will be sony's XB fanboy and these pair just blew my mind.
JVC FX850s, though the phone's output & internal DAC makes them sound like crap (coming from Note 4). V4A doesn't make it much better. Placed an order for a cheap portable DAC, FiiO K1.

Great to hear, fan of the bass myself... thanks for the post..
They're currently somewhere between Japan and Manchester
I'm using Sony MDR-EX650 Earphones with Brass Housing, Smartphone Mic and Control. By far the best in ear headphones I've ever bought, and I'm really hard to please when it comes to sound quality. The sounds take is incredibly open for in ear headphones. I can hardly feel them in my ears, the bass Is punchy without making the sound muddy. Fantastic, really glad I bought the 6p, and these headphones. Got them for £60 but can get them for around £40 online
Bose QC 20's ("Samsung Model" which is their Android version) All of the buttons work (vol+,-, play/pause) and it has ANC with an 'active button'. The active mode gives you mild noise canceling with enhanced speaking level tones for running/working out. I paid $300 for them this past summer and I don't regret it at all. I own 5 pairs of Bose headphones total (QC 20's, Freestyle, SiE 2's, OE 2's and the True Sound over ear ones)
Been using the latest xiaomi in ear pro these past two weeks, it is a hybrid : 1ba and 1 dynamic. Bass seem overpowered (i'm not a basshead), mid a bit high and buttons (mic n vol) works with my music player (black player ex), build quality is great for the price. I would recommend this Xiaomi (i got it for around $28 ) for 'on the go' earphones. For 'serious listening' i use my red Shure 535LE with black oyaide cable.
I'm rocking a V-Moda Crossfade LP2 - picked them up as open box off eBay for $99 and added the XL foam ear pads from V-Moda, also an eBay purchase. They sound ridiculously good, and the ear pads make these comfy af. The inline remote does NOT work though, but it worked on a Lumia - go figure, as Apple and MS have a patent deal. >.> Get with it Google! I miss pausing my music or summoning Cortana with the Play/Pause button on the cable.

I've got a few hooked up for different purposes, Grado SR325i are my hands down favorite for sound but unless I'm sitting still in a quiet room they're not so wonderful.
Realistically though, my MPOW Cheetah Blueetooth get the most play time. $16 on sale. They don't sound anywhere as nice as my RE0's (which I bought so long ago I don't remember the price, definitely more than $16 though), but the whole wireless headphone thing is just so darn practical and the battery life is good enough that I would definitely recommend them.
I've been using Audio-Technica M50x's ($133) around the house and Klipsch S4's ($99) or Jbuds ($35) while out and about. Very happy with all of them.
I use some jbl wireless in ears, bose qc 20s, and sennheiser momentum in ears.
Beats PowerBeats2 Bluetooth for cardio. Paid $100 on Black Friday. I think at $100, its pretty good. Battery life is amazing. Sound is decent. But I wouldn't pay full price for them.
Shure SE215 for everything else. Paid $100 for them.
Bose QC15 for flights which I haven't traveled much lately so its not used ah much. Forgot how much I paid. Maybe $300ish.
I also have Bose IE2, Audio Technician M50 but those are rarely used.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
For wireless listening, I use a pair of Jaybird Bluebuds X. They work ver well and sound pretty good.
For wired listening, I have a pair of Klipsch S4is that I use when the BlueBuds are out of battery, and mostly for calls. My favorite pair are the Vmoda Crossfade LP2. The Vmoda give me the best sound out of all my headphones, but I don't like wearing them for extended periods of time. The Vmoda inline controller button does not work on the 6P by the way, and the same applies to many stock headphones for some reason.
I backed The Dash on Kickstarter two years ago and it looks like I should finally be getting mine in the next month or two. I'm very excited to get them to replace the BlueBuds, but Bluetooth sound quality will never match wired units.

Unless you are an audiophile, I will recommend the Mpow Wolverine: http://amzn.com/B017I50T0K. They are cheap and the sound is excellent in my opinion. Additionally, they work perfectly with "Ok Google" commands, I mean detecting the "OK Google", which I have found to be inconsistent with other wireless or wired headphones. The microphone is on the volume control bar, so it is closer to your face and phone calls are really clear.
I also own the Mpow Swift: http://amzn.com/B00PW3B194, which I bought first. These are not as good, the sound is not the best in my opinion. I use them at work to listen to music and news podcast, so I don't need real good sound, as I keep the volume very low. The microphone in this one is on the right-ear headphone, so people have trouble hearing me if it is windy.
PS: No, I don't work for Mpow, I bought them because I found them on sale, so I paid $9.99 for each one.
Hi,
Firstly my perception might be warped as I've got a pair of RHA 600i, but I'm just finding the bundled headphones lack clarity - the mids and bass just muffles the sound.
I'm not testing it with ghetto boom tracks either, e.g. flac format UB40 album, Damien Marley - Stony Hill, Michael Jackson best of...
I guess the question is am I expecting far too much from them? And are my RHA 600i really that good?
Is a Fiio a worthwhile investment for RHA600i? I'm finding the volume is lacking a bit and I'm using +3db in gain to compensate via Nuetron...
Edit: I guess I was expecting more as HTC said the earphones have sonar style wizardry from the ancient dolphins from the 70s that can only be found crossing through the stained lake Cresva.
The U-Sonic headphones are known to be a bit bassy, especially if compared to some made by a company more focused on headphones or ear buds specifically. I personally like the bundled U-Sonics, but the more muddy bass you describe is filtered out and the highs brought forward with the use of V4A in my case.
They are overly bass-y, that's widely accepted.
Ty men, I'll try V4A, but I'm guessing the RHA will still win, just the idea of using HTCs solution is nice, I still miss the HK mod from One M8 days.
You can use a simple EQ to remove some of the muddy bass from the USonics. They are good for bundled headphones but nothing more. I use them for casual walks where I know I won't be paying too much attention to sound quality. If I'm sitting down for a long time like bus journeys etc then I have to pull out my P7 Wireless.
The RHA is simply more controlled than the USonic, as to be expected. I have the RHA 750i and volume is also lacking. Bare in the mind the U11 adaptor doesn't have a very powerful amp so that is the problem. Since you're using Neutron I'd suggest maybe using UAPP instead (since you have your own music). The U11 adaptor sounds a decent touch louder when using UAPP since it is accessing the DAC directly and skipping Android's mixer.
Jesus...UAPP has changed my whole listening experience. Much louder, seems like there's more clarity my 600i just came alive...
Didn't expect that.
Thanks for the recommendation.
