Trouble installing viper4android driver. - Onetouch Idol 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone have trouble getting the driver to install? I had it working on stock, but then I flashed cm12.1 to try it out, and when I restored my stock ROM it won't install the driver anymore.

Ensure that you're rooted, better to be using SuperSU, but it'll work on anything else. Driver installation can take a few minutes.

It gives me errors when installing the driver. It's either that busy box isn't installed (which it is ) or that the version of Android or ROM isn't compatible. I'm also rooted.

By any chance are you using supersu v2. 65 or updated your supersu binary before installing viper? I believe it have something to do with that because I was having the same problem with RR rom by The Marionette . I've fixed it by reflashing supersu v2.46. Try doing that and see if it is work.

I did update the binary, but I already flashed SuperSU to 2.46, and still the same. I'm gonna try flashing 2.44 and see if that does it. I'm really missing v4a

Try uninstall v4a app first. Then reflash SU but do not update it. Now install v4a app and it driver. I'm using the latest v4a v2.4.0.1. If it's still the fail then I sorry i can't help you because that's what I did to correct my error.

'Root binaries' missing after rooting with guide on XDA forums

I'm having issues with my OPO root. I unlocked my bootloader, flashed TWRP and rooted by installing SuperSU through a zip. All was good and root was working yesterday.
I haven't done any Android updates, but my root is gone! If I open the SuperSU app it does this (see screenshot in attachments)
I tried reflashing the zip through TWRP but the same happens after rebooting.
Any ideas?
Turns out this is all because I uninstalled BusyBox, any suggestions as to what to do next? Someone on the forums here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54001747&postcount=5 got it to work by wiping and reflashing everything but I'd rather not do that...

Same problem here.
My OpO was rooted and after uninstalling busybox i have the same issue.
Superuser says no su binaries
i tried flashing again an again. Flash works fine but always the same message no su binaries ..
Busybox was stuck on loading data, that's why i uninstall it .
Same problem And i want to do a full wipe of my phone and install CM11 instaid of CM11s but restore my settings trough titanium backup. But i need root for that first.

What? I wasn't going to restore system data anyway. I don't want to redo all my settings again so that why i need a titanium backup, which i cant make without root.
You guys are totally out of a clue.
First: why do you uninstall busybox? Read twice, flash once. If you knew what busybox is for you probably would avoid such errors. Don't tweak your devices if you're not savvy of what you're doing or xda forum will always be cluttered by such threads.
Second: System options backed up can screw up your phone if they do not apply to the ROM just installed causing various problems if not bootloops. DO NOT RESTORE EM. NO WAY.
Hope this helps.
PS: Install busybox from play store to solve the issue.

I have this same problem as OP. Ok well since the app keeps crashing on startup, flashing a zip seems like a good idea. Where did you find this zip file?

I lrooted my opo and flashed Sabermods Cm Lollipop and am also getting the same notification, any root needed apps are telling me the phone isnt rooted?? I also tried installing this busybox but wont work cause the phone is coming up as unrooted?
Has anyone a straight answer for this dilemma that doesnt include a full wipe/flash rom again...?

Ok, I can't seem to get back root either. I had root and was running ParanoidAndroid. I wiped clean, flashed Cyanogen 12 nightly, flashed Gapps, wiped cache/dalvik. Everything rebooted into Lollipop fine, but I've lost root and can't seem to figure out how to re-root. I flashed the most recent SuperSU (2.46) via TWRP with no luck. Keeps saying I need to re-root first. Any ideas?

Normally busybox is free on the playstore. Not sure how to explain but it adds the possibility to do some commands, in this case TWRP Manager.
But I read posts from 2 people that they had issues with installing CM11s from scratch so I would wait to see if it is ok to do so or wait for an update.
2.7.1.1 works do there is no rush to update.
The Busybox installer by stericson is from what I gather not dangerous and is useful for many apps, such as the TWRP Manager. But if you are unsure, I believe the app Flashify does not require Busybox to be installed (don't quote me on that), and it can be used to flash the new TWRP 2.8 image file. Search for Flashify in the Google Play store and install it. Then select "recovery image" and select the TWRP .img file. That worked for me when I tried yesterday, but I can't give you any guarantees.
ok boys... tomorrow i uninstall the official twrp manager and try to use this app........... i hope this not brick my opo

Do not use 2.8, it has issues with flashing kernels. It can cause bootloops. Just stick with 2.7.1.1, it's rock solid.

I used 2.8 and flashed a ROM and flashed multiple kernels without any problems.
As mentioned before, use Flashify. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify
Thanks for all reply.... i have correctly updated my Recovery from 2.7.1.1 to this 2.8.0.0
For now i don't need to change nothing from STOCK ROM... i have already unlock the bootloader some month ago.. i have root permission and i have a good feedback whit the stock CM11S............
Otherwise if i have some problems i thinks i can re-download and i can reflash the 2.7.1.1 over this 2.8.0.0 whitout any problems rights ?

Viper4Android on Lollipop Preview LPX13D?

Hi All,
I've come across some people who've stated they've got Viper4Android running but I can't seem to get it running. My nexus 5 is rooted and I've had to use "busybox x" which installs ok but when ever I install the driver on Viper4Android it just gets a driver install loop where it asks to install a driver every time I reboot. Any ideas?
Cheers.

[Q] Xposed Framework on Cm12s?

Is it possible to install xposed framework on cm12s?
Through the xposed installer I always get an error: 'CANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE: could not load library "libdvm.so" needed by "/data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/cache/app_process"; caused by library "libdvm.so" not found'
It also says that Xposed is not compatible with Android SDK Version 21 or my Processor architecture.
Obviously I am using a OnePlus One. With CM12s.

Try to use the latest alpha. Also, there is an apk (installer) and one zip you need to flash in order to make it work.
Downloads:
xposed-arm-*.zip: Must be flashed with a custom recovery to install the framework.
XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha*.apk: Must be installed to manage installed modules

I updated my oneplus last night with the latest OTA YNG1TAS2I3 and my copy of xposed didnt work in TWRP... so searched and found the latest arm22 version.... this still didnt work.
Reading your comment made me think to go back to the original old school 3.0 alpha version - THIS WORKED.
Thank you again!
Thanks for the reply. But I think the rest of the OnePlus One users would like to know exactly where you down loaded the files and any installation instructions we may need. Not knowing what old school means in this case.

Thank you for your replies. I had to do a factory reset, nothing else helped. So I tried it again, I flashed the Xposed V86 with flashfire, worked fine for two days, than the phone went to bootloop again. I guess I will not deal with xposed anymore, it is a good thing, but doesn't really work as it should.
Okay, so I have a update: Phone works fine for two days. I turn it on and everything seems fine, but... after two days of using it goes to bootloop again no matter what I do. I tried flashing original firmware, works fine for two days, than bootloop again, tried factory resetting, wiping cache and so on, still the same, works, but goes to bootloop every two days when I try to turn it on. Help, please.

I am using a pre-rooted firmware.
I guess that XPosed changed the values of some System files and uninstaller does no job in changing them back to how they were before. Question is: There's no custom recovery availible for Chinese model of J7, so is there a possibility to delete System using a Root file explorer? Which has access to System partition?

Xposed modifies System, Factory reset does not affect system only Data.
Your issue isn't xposed.
You are probably receiving a security policy update. The policy update breaks earlier versions of supersu causing bootloops.
You need to flash supersu v2.78 SR1 with Flashfire then the correct Xposed version.
Supersu v2.78 will block the policy up date.

I don't think so, I used prerooted firmware for months and never had a single problem... everything started to go wrong after flashing xposed.. So how can be SuperSU a problem if it used to work fine before?
EDIT: And no, I didn't receive security policy update.
EDIT2: But thanks a lot for your advice, I will try to update SuperSU... Is it okay if I flash newer superSU with flashfire, when my current one is installed as a system app or do I need to do something before flashing the new one?
