I just got my s2 3g version and was wondering what the latest build number for it was. Mine is currently on OL3 but I've heard there is a newer one and wanted to check to be sure.

On the 3G model, OL3 is the latest. The 3G is really behind the Sport & the Classic right now. Samsung fail..

Well ****...that sucks.
I had seen someone talking about the new update fixing the hyperbolic issues, do you know what they meant?
Any idea when an update to ol3 will become available for the 3g version?

Going to be buy the Notepro in a few days and debating on getting the wifi or unlocked int. Lte version. Do wifi versions get updates faster? I know that 4g versions that are locked almost never get updates. Can the same be said for unlocked 4g versions?
I had unlocked 4g version of the note 2014 10.1and the thing never got an update.
Any LTE version is going to require work by the respective carriers once receiving the update from Samsung so yes, the WiFi version should get updates far quicker and more regurally. While Samsung still makes their changes to stock Google code, it is one step closer to stock than getting through a carrier.

But what if I didnt get it from a carrier? I can get the LTE, unbranded version.
In that case wouldnt it be like the wifi, not affected by what carriers do?

That i can't answer. Here in the states they are all carrier bramded.

I haven't seen anything in months about the advancement of getting the LTE version to work on Verizon. I know there was some misconception about an the Shield LTE having the ability but the at&t exclusiveness put the kebosh on it. Anybody have awesome news that will totally make my day!? Thanks!

That post has not been updated since December, has anybody had any luck with Verizon?

I've read that there was an update to the software for the gear s2. Was there an update to the gear s2 3g? I specifically have a verizon version of the 3g and i have not received any recent updates to the watch (i believe there was one a while back, but I do not have the latest updates that have been discussed for the classic and bluetooth sport versions of this watch.
Thank you!
I, too, am waiting for an update for my AT&T S2 3G. Because ours are carrier-specific, it seems to take longer for the updates, just like for carrier-branded phones. ?

I figured... though i don't see anything verizon specific on my watch the way I do on my phone.
I had one yesterday for my ATT one. It finally gives Numbersync as well as some battery enhancement and something else I forget. I was super happy to finally have Numbersync though. That completed this watch for me. (Well, that and then when Samsung pay works with the watch.)

Yes, I got that one too. But it's different from the one the other S2 models received. Their update gives more Setting options which I want on my S2 3G as well such as screen timeout.

Verizon’s latest update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge brings Wi-Fi and HD Calling improvements.
To check for the update, head into Settings>About phone>Software updates>Check for updates.
Before you download:
Connect your device to a Wi-Fi network, or make sure it has a strong Verizon Wireless network connection.
Ensure your battery is fully charged before starting the software update.
I saw and downloaded the update. We use WiFi calling since we live in sticks and cell signal here is week. We had noticed poor quality recently, hopefully this update helps.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA-Developers mobile app
We've NEVER had luck with Wi-Fi calling. We have 75 MB Comcast connection and when the phone rings, it always disconnects when I answer, or a few seconds after.
Does anyone else have this going on? We can't even use it. We've heard from others that it's a great feature, just we can't get it working.
Anyone else upgraded? How is it? Does it make a noticeable difference in volte?
Updated and the phone seems identical. WiFi calling seems hit or miss for me: it sometimes connects, and sometimes sounds all right, but no real change from before.
Can someone confirm FoxFi works on update?
Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
After dealing with so-so signal strength and ZERO wifi calling abilities with this Verizon phone, tech support is sending me a new SIM card. They said if that doesn't fix my issues, they'll send me a new phone right away.
If you're having problems, I'd suggest going the same route.

Yup.

I notice if I got both CELL and WIFI on... and my cell is weak and "jumps" to wifi calling, people say I "sound like a frog".
If I go to airplane mode and turn cell on - everything sounds crystal clear to both sides

You using Foxfi for wireless tethering I assume? Are you on the latest software version? I am thinking about unrooting and switching to that but I fear I may regret it...

I installed the latest Verizon update to my s6 and FoxFi still worked, that's all I can say.

I haven't heard that Sony is interested in having the XZP certified. If they wanted it done wouldn't they have done it already?

Very true which confuses me to no end. Why do it to these new phones and not the XZP.
Sent from my G8142 using Tapatalk
I'm not really sure what is involved in making this work, but it seems strange to do it for the new "standard" phones and not the current premium one. Maybe there will be some way to port it over? I'd love to have this working but I don't really want to downgrade my phone to do so.

Jumped shipped when they played off all my phones. Couldn't be happier. Loved the XZP but no VoLTE and WiFi Calling. Phone is crippled without it.

Cool. I just ordered a XZ Premium of swappa. I'll give it a go for a bit until the V30 comes out.
I called T-Mobile and got the APN data seems to work pretty well. I get LTE signal now but I don't know if that includes VOLTE. I'm pretty noob with some of this, so I'm not sure how this all shakes down
The problem is when you make a call, it switches from LTE and changes to HSPA. You will run into problems when your area has no HSPA and full LTE. In that scenario, you will not be able to make calls.
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I was just on an extended back and forth with Sony Xperia support (3 different times today) and they assured me that the XZ Premium does indeed support wifi calling through T-Mobile US. Maybe they baked Volte into Oreo?
Unless it's baked into an upcoming update, this is not the case. I sold mine a few weeks ago, but it had Oero already and it didn't have wifi calling or VOLTE on T-Mobile.

Thanks for the reply. With all the back and forth and contradictory info I've been getting, it's hard to get a straight answer. I'm gonna take your word for it. Too bad. I really wanted to give this phone a go...
If you root it you can install turbos rom in the dev section. I'm running his rom and have volte and wifi calling on T-Mobile with no issues

Ok a few weeks ago as in 2017 you sold it?
Does anyone reading this know if now in 2018 that Sony has finally got the XZP certified for VoLTE on T-Mo's network??? Perhaps someone who still has the phone and uses it on T-Mo's network?
