The device seems to be very good.
Who is the manufacturer? Does anyone have information?
Is there any topic on XDA?
Is there some kernel honeycomb compatible?
Apparently there are several tablets on the same processor.
The more popular device have greater chances of updates.

What is so great about this device? Chances are it does not have access to the Market and its future upgreadability is questionable at best. For not much more money you can get Dell Streak or Nook Color and have a "legit" device.
it would be nicer if they add more RAM
DX always keep release new tablets every day
don't rush to get one unless you really want it
Just got in a Dutch Toy store (InterToys.nl) a clone of a such device - FView 7" Pro. Only EUR 135. Looks quite right price for such hardware, but build is not perfect, of course. And there is quite of mistakes including Chinese language in some places.
But the device is very quick and responsive, Quadrant score above 1200.
In Europe/NL FView they have site (in Dutch) - http://www.tabletsupport.eu/fview2
Tool they are using to flash firmware - RKDeviceManager
how long the battery life..?
800_480 cok dusuk cozunurluk.
HD screen very good.
I Telechips Cortex A8 8 inch Android 2.3 Tablet PC. I have no idea what I can do with it.I can not believe I root ...My opinion is a tablet for those who do not know much.I would be happy to make root.I do not know anything about the tablet. Can someone help me?
You probably won't be able to find any support for these kind of devices once you want to root and put a custom rom on it. But if you want to use it as it is, then it looks ok.

This is an MTK6589T phone, so for flashing you'll need SPFlashTool and the MTK Drivers

Androidx86 7.1 Unidentified video number - HDMI from laptop to TV

Hi, I'm trying to set up a nice little android 7.1 system to attach to my TV using a HDMI cable though I'm having a bit of trouble with the resolution. I'm getting a black border around the screen - See the below image.

This is what the laptop screen looks like below.
I've plugged in another laptop that has windows installed and noted down the resolution which is 1280x768. I've also found the corresponding vga values both 16 and 32. 1280x768x16 = 888 and 1280x768x32 = 889
When I add either of these to the menu.lst file I get a message on boot stating that I'm using an undefined video number.
Like the below image:
I've typed scan to get the video modes available but there are no resolutions that match the aspect ratio of my screen. I've tested the ones listed but they still either don't take up the whole screen or match the aspect ratio.
The below image shows a list of codes that I have found.
The laptop I'm running this on is pretty old but with windows or any of the other Linux distros I've found I have no problem.
Specs:
Processor: Intel Celeron C900
Clock Speed: 2.2 GHz, 800MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache
Operating System: Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium
Memory: 3GB DDR2 RAM
Hard Drive: 250GB
Optical Drive: Lightscribe Super Multi DVD-RW
Display Screen: 15.6? High Definition HP Brightview Widescreen TFT LCD Display
Connectivity: Wireless enabled
Graphics: Intel GMA 4500MHD Graphics chipset
Graphics Memory: Up to 1309MB Graphics memory from shared resources
Camera: Built-in Webcam
Additional Features: HDMI connectivity, External display (VGA) port
Networking: Integrated 10/100Base-T Ethernet (LAN)
Audit: Altec Lansing integrated speakers
Connectivity: 3x USB ports, 5 in 1 integrated digital media card reader
Weight: 2.58kg
Battery Life: Up to 2 hours
Is there any way of getting around this? Or am I going about this the wrong way?
Many thanks!!!
Let me know if I need to provide more info!
OK I've managed to figure it out incase anyone was wondering.
Instead of booting with a vga=someNumber I used video=LVDS-1:d. This works a treat!
The only problem with this is would be that it doesn't use the laptop screen at all. But for me this is not a problem really.
I believe that the laptop resolution is not the same as the TV and the TV cannot resize to match the resolution (mirroring).
When you use video=LVDS-1:d you disable the laptop screen and it can use the TVs resolution just fine.
I am not sure that you can use the TV as an extended screen like xrandr would allow.
