"Your device has failed verification and may not work properly" after relocking
Hi, after i relocked my bootloader, i get the above message everytime i boot my phone.
How do i get rid of this?
Things i have done to this phone:
After i got my phone, i rooted it with DC Unlocker, installed TWRP_ENG-MATE8 and flashed the chinese stock firmware, for some reasons.
After that i flashed the stock EU firmware from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate...ate-8-t3293619.
Yesterday i decided to RMA this phone, as there are some bugs that drove me crazy
So i flashed the stock rom again and the stock recovery for the chinese model (NXT AL10), as there is yet no european recovery.img, using the italian knife tool
and relocked the bootloader using the DC Unlocker code.
The Bootloader states that my phone is relocked, as expected, but, when i boot it, it shows
"Your device has failed verification and may not work properly" hinting me to a huawei website where i can download stock firmwares for other huawei phones other the mate 8.
Does anybody know if this is normal and if not, how to change it to normal?
p.s.
is it normal to have 2 IMEIs in System Settings?
may i ask why ure planning to rma ur phone? i dont think u can rma it just due to software "bugs", if u meant that...

I'm still in the 14 day refund-period, so returning could be possible.
The reasons i want to refund this device are:
1. GMD Gesture Control and other apps shut itself down after some time, even while i'm using the device.
2. The Keyboard acts weird if i'm using my phone without a navbar.
Something i can only fix with gravitybox in combination with tasker (start navbar when keyboard is active).
Unfortunately xposed and thus gravitybox isn't working on this device.
interesting, sorry to hear ure having such troubles!

My phone dropped itno water somehow i managed to on it dried out put under sun., in rice, blow it with hair dryer..its ion now and working the touch isn't working properly and it says 'verification failed.device won't work properly' what to do its Huawei p9 plus
Since I have been able to more or less reverse-engineer eRecovery, I figure I should use my solution to help people with the European edition too.
I know that right now, eRecovery is not working on the European edition, and there are no updates from B109SP02, from what I've heard.
If anyone is brave/adventurous, I can set up my DNS server to let eRecovery bring you version B122 for the variant MHA-L29C432. If there is any interest in this, please let me know in this thread.
(A note to Chinese MHA-AL00 users, take note of some bad news: It's not possible to flash these European roms onto the MHA-AL00 with European firmware yet. I can get it to download onto the device and pass security check, but the install fails due to a different partition/directory structure. I'm still somewhat working on finding a way, but it looks pretty much impossible without bootloader unlock, unfortunately)
What are the advantages? I always like to play with new fw but how tricky is this and did you notice improvements?
Thanks for your work. That would be interesting to try. I'm kind of new to the Mate9, is there something important that B122 brings?
I don't know. Nobody's installed it. But I don't think there's anything major to be gained from updating.
Ah then I will wait for an official update and not going to risk a bricked device
But big thanks for your offer to help ofcourse!
I'm tempted - would be able to give it a pop over the weekend
I allready tried to flash the MHA-L29C432B122 version but i got the message `software installation failed`right at the start. Scource http://www.android-hilfe.de/thema/mate-9-fw-mha-l29-b122.804967/.

Yes. You are no longer able to flash UPDATE.APP with the Mate 9. I have an alternate method of flashing by hijacking Huawei's eRecovery procedure.
If you have an unlocked bootloader, you should be able to directly flash the partitions in fastboot, though.

Same here, Beta-Program as well. Just wondered why the bootloader was unlocked when I got the phone but good to know I am not the only one having this issue.
Did you also encounter problems while installing tools like AnTuTu or PC Mark by the way?
Hello. I tried to unlock my bootloader on FRD-L19, Nougat 7.0, Emui 5.0 i got the unlockcode, but in adb i get alwas this:

Yes, your bootloader is locked.. try again via fastboot to unlock it.
You'll need the original key when you are trying it
the Command is something like "fastboot oem unlock *key*".
I know that. Have you seen my problem?? but, thank you anyway! I need to no why i get "wrong password" and what means "frp unlock".

I tried it again. It doesn't work fu****g huawei...
I have taken 4 picures when i tried it. Can you find an issue? I don't think that i have made something wrong...
Thank you
I've had the same problem and it turned out that the first bootloader code i used ( with DC unlocker) is different from the one i got on the Huawei website.
So what i did eventually was to pay for the DC unlocker again.
I also downgraded back to MM, because i did not manually relock the bootloader before updating to N, which apparently locks the bootloader in a different way.
So I suggest dowgrading to MM and unlocking there plus relocking it before updating again,
IF you are sure you have the right / original bootloader code you used before,
or
use a 3rd party tool like DC unlocker to get the code.
You might have to downgrade to MM as well with this method . Not sure
Edit: Fyi, never post your IMEI online

It should either be an exe somewhere or just a bat file.
This tool does the same thing as a command window in the sense of unlocking the bootloader.
As far as I know it won't help with your problem.
Frp ( Factory reset protection) requires you to sign with your google account if enabled or you can't use the phone. ( Theoretically that is, I'm i noob myself so no idea)
But it was "locked" ( same as in your pics that is ) for me as well anf I didn't have a problem with it.

Safety is the enemy of freedom!! -.- Sounds very complicated! (sorry for my bad english). So, i was on android 6.1 and unlocked and rooted it. Than had my problems with root again (maybe the wrong supersu file, or something) Then i have downloaded update.app from hihonor and installed it from the external sd card and everything is working fine on my phone. but i can not unlock it. maybe i have the wrong software for my location ore something like that?
FRP unlock means "You have to unlock"? if its unlocked there will be "FRP unlocked"? i am right?
Maybe i should try the whole procedure from beginning. rollback, update etc.. and then try to unlock. or should i contact huawei?
Thank you and a nice evening *cheers* ^^

I have the same trouble, I obtained my unlock key from huawei (I'm not going to give my imei to someone else), but I get wrong password.
How can I downgrade to MM? I'm on linux, so I cannot use that multitool (also, I prefer to make thing manually).
Thank you!

For downgrade you need a rollback package..
What is your model number and build number??
I have an honor FRD-L09 with build FRD-L09C432B394
I understood that I nned to rollback to emui 4.1 (android MM), then unlock, but after this step I cannot receive ota's so how can I return back to Nougat stock? And you have a trusted download for the needed packages?
I just want to use Titanium Backup to restore all my stuff... and some modifications (pixel launcher, magisk with some modules, viper audio, ad block, something this simple), nothing usually complex!
Thank you!

For downgrade process you don't need to unlock bootloader..when you downgrade you will receive OTA updates..
To use TB you need root..which is required unlock bootloader..
Why you want to go back to MM BTW??

Hello all.
I attempted to flash a ROM a while back and failed miserably. All I managed to do in the end was unlock the bootloader. I would like to change this, and set things back to they way they were; locked bootloader.
Is there anyway to achieve this? I would like to be able to use apps like Uber that won't work with an unlocked bootloader.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Hello I think this could help you
https://youtu.be/8OywEYZ2cbw
This is a video about how to rebrand your mate 9
Now it in the steps it says that after you use the options 2 to rebrand it relock your bootloader, I don't know what mate you have but since you probably installed a custom recovery it is why you can't relock with the command, so my suggestion is this download the WHOTA update and also install the the software finder via Google Play. With it look for your specific model and copy the links to download the files for your specific model in your PC, Also do a Backup of your Oeminfo via the TWRP since it will be the only file you won't find, probably (if it happens to be the MHA-L09 C605 send it to me I need it for my phone I made the mistake of not backing up my Oeminfo).
If you download the files and follow the instructions of the video you will be able to relock your bootloader. But watch it 3 times and also download all the files and make sure to back up everything in your PC if something goes wrong.

Thanks guys. I've found a fairly simple solution.
This is the solution that worked for me.
1. Type "fastboot oem relock (your phone's unlock code)" and select unlock or yes with volume buttons & power.
Hopefully this method will help others.

Hcu-client (A tool by DC unlocker) worked fine last I tested it, was on MHA-L29C432B373
Just flash ur oeminfo.bin file to re lock ur boot loader.. Its that easy. But u lose all ur files cos phone resets
