Hello friends I am on the latest Russian 4.3 firmware and am flashing the PIT and the old bootloader and then a stock 4.2.2 indian Firmware to check if the warranty bit can be reinstated !!!!!!!! Because here in India the service centers dont know or dont bother to check the hidden counter.......
I know I am taking a risk but opening this thread so that I can post my observations and maybe we can work something out.....fingers crossed!!!!!
UPDATE 1 : Was Unable to flash the MG1 bootloader getting failed on odin and unsupported !!!!!
UPDATE 2 : Flashed UBUBMH1 4.2.2 successfully no IMEI loss all working fine so yes we can downgrade to 4.2.2
The bootloader though remains unchanged and shows device status as custom!!!!!
UPDATE 3 : Flashed the leaked 4.3 and device status says official binary also official only warranty bit says 1
UPDATE 4 : Device is able to check for OTA updates and not given an error saying your device has been modified

STEPS TO REVERT I9500 TO 4.2.2 WITH OFFICIAL STATUS
**********************************************************************************
1) Download South African FW 4.2.2 http://samsung-updates.com/details/14135/Galaxy_S_4_Exynos_Octa/GT-I9500/XFE/I9500XXUBMH1.html
2) Go to recovery wipe data factory reset and wipe cache and then flash the firmware that you downloaded above
NOTE : If you are on the russian 4.3 and having issues flashing this FW then first flash the leaked 4.3 from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2488155
3) After flashing leaked 4.3 go to settings and check device status it should say official
4)now go to download mode and flash the 4.2.2 rom you downloaded
5) NOTE : IF YOU ARE STILL HAVING TROUBLE GOING BACK TO 4.2.2 YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE
ATTACHED PIT FILE AND FLASH IT ALONG WITH THE 4.2.2 ROM
IN ODIN SELECT THE PIT FILE IN PIT SECTION AND SELECT THE FW IN PDA SECTION
AS A LAST RESORT IF NOTHING WORKS THEN FOLLOW THE STEPS FROM STEP 1 AGAIN USING ODIN
1.85 attached below!!!!!!
PLEASE EXTRACT THE ODIN AND PIT FILES BEFORE USING.
Trying other things now!!!!!!!
I will be posting detailed steps with links soon!!!!!!!
Hey,
When I was in 4.2.2, root and kernels and Cwm were already flashed so my binary and system were custom. But when I flashed 4.3 leak all become official and warranty bit: 0, I was happy that I kept my warranty.
But now, my warranty bit is 1 because I flashed cf root. And downgrading to 4.2.2 and flashing again 4.3 didn't change anything. I really want to know how to remove that knox bootloader.

Well as the title states right now there is no way to do that its been three hrs i have tried all sorts of crazy things to go back to the old bootloader but it just refuses to flash so we will have to wait.....I created this thread so that at least we can have the binary and status official because most of the places that will be ok like in india if i go to the svc center and it says official all will be ok!!!!
hey @hypergamer1231,
what is the procedure to revert back to 4.2.2, am currently CF-Rooted on 4.3?

Thks 4 this tutorial, Perfect in My S4 TTT Region.
Congrats Bro
Just got the official 4.3 OTA update (INS). Not going to update coz of warranty bit. It should be 0 when I update, but as soon as I root it would become 1. Will be waiting for AOSP or MIUI for i9500, say a month or so. Then will use it and update to 4.3 next yr (or maybe 4.4 then?) When warranty anyway would expire.
Edit - this is similar to Knox on i9505, hence even downgrading your official software doesn't remove the boot loader, and in fact triggers it.

i am not sure but thats a very good idea i would have tried that but i am already on the new bootloader if you can try that would be great make sure you have a nandroid backup and efs backup!!!!!! Do it at your own risk at the most u will have basic issues try and revert if poss
thank you,it works like a charme even if a had the russian 4.3, no need to go back to the indian version ,just used odin 1.85 with the.PIT and the south african 4.2.2
My experience:
My GT-I9505 was a Hongkong version with its stock firmware version I9505ZHUAME3, then OTA to ZHUDMI1.
After flashed the CWM recovery, the KNOX warranty set to 0x1. As you know, ZHUDMI1 cannot be fully rooted now.
Then I tried to flash the phone by ODIN with I9505ZHUBMF4 (includes PIT, PHONE, MODEM, CSC). The phone showed "OFFICIAL" and can OTA again, but I disabled auto upgrade.
And rooted the phone with CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505. Now its status is "CUSTOM". Anyway, maybe I lost the warranty, but I can use this phone with fully rooted now.
I have nothing useful to add except that I find it funny that my country's firmware is allowing for downgrades . Congrats on finding the exploit BTW .

I learnt from the S2 days never, ever flash the latest leaks until a work around has been found. So yeah I have not gone the 4.3 route just yet but its nice to know that the firmware I already have could downgrade me should the need arise .
My experience:
So I have a I9500, and its on the russian 4.3, and I root it, it says both binary and status official except the Warranty Bit is 1, and Knox won't work on my phone, It goes " Your device is not authorised to enter knox mode". It shows the same thing after I unroot it ( Flash the 4.3 rom again). Just wonder is there any way that I can use Knox again??

Install the stock ROM via odin. It's solve the problem, try another ROM from another country.

So I have an Exynos GS7 (SM-G930F) in France.
I have since 2 months. When I received it I had an OTA update, nothing since then.
My phone is telling me I'm up-to-date : https://lut.im/1qIAxIm0mp/odY0swWUqfnLbWCy.png and Smart Switch too.
However according to Sammobile, at least 3 firmwares have been released since then : https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G930F/XEF/
A month ago, I rooted it without unlocking the bootloader, and I reflashed the firmware after via Odin to unroot it. I don't know if it's related.
It is possible to get the .zip from the OTAs to apply the updates manually, or any other method to get updates ?
Hey so.. Phone's root bugged out yesterday and I downloaded twrp and decided I should upgrade it to Android 8.0 then root it. After many hours of failures I managed to flash a 8.0 but I couldn't make the CSC to work, since my phone is region locked to another country so I decided to go back to 7.0 and try again.. but now here it gets complicated because I really don't know what to do. I'm not sure how exactly to go back from 8.0 to 7.0.. Can someone give me detailed steps on what should I do.. I'd be very grateful!
PS. I don't know if I'm posting this in the right forum thread.
Here https://updato.com/how-to/how-to-install-an-official-samsung-stock-firmware-using-odin
Same site, or sammobile can be used to get the firmware files to flash with Odin
Note: The last version of 7.0 locked the ability to downgrade, I haven't gone to Oreo so can't confirm, but it ability to downgrade may also be removed from Oreo.

I can confirm, downgrading from Oreo 8.0 to Nougat 7.0 is possible, even without tripping knox.
It's just flashing the previous firmware with odin and factory reset the phone before first run and you're fine to go
Hello,
I would like to downgrade a Galaxy Note Edge (N915FY) to Android Kitkat but I haven't done it in a few years. I wanted to make sure I understood everything before I made any mistakes. I saw on differents topics on XDA that Samsung was preventing to downgrade on their devices since android 5.0.1.
In this case :
Is reinstalling the bootloader of an Kitkat firmware with Odin is enough to reinstall an stock android 4.4 firmware after ?
Did you know where I can find an Android 4.4 bootloader for N915FY (can I extract it from the stock firmware) ?
Did I need to do and tick "Re-Partition" on Odin ?
If I do a re-partition, what PIT file should I use (see on sammobile.com) ? (TBLTE_EUR_OPENBTU_HIDDEN100M.pit or TBLTE_EUR_OPENBTU.pit)
What is the difference between SM-N915FY and SM-N915F, I understand that one was for the European market and the other for the international market (bootloader?, partition?, LTE frequency?) ?
Do any of you have a Kitkat full stock firmware (BL, AP, CP, CSC) region XEF ? I can't find any on Internet, all the links are dead.
Thanks a lot for your help
Feel free to answer me even if you only have part of the answer !

I don't think is good idea downgrading to KK, i have try it myself flashing with odin and rooting and oll that but then KK was crashing often as it look like the phone is dying, then i have to flash LP and MM to get reed of that crashes every few minutes.
Here are all the updates for note edge. http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SM-N915FY flash with odin in download mode.

Hello,
Thanks for your answer, I finally left the phone with the latest version of marshmallow available. What surprises me is that I only saw positive opinions on the kitkat version, since the phone works pretty well so I thought it wasn't worth the risk of downgrading.
Maybe the bugs you had come from a problem with the memory chip in your note 4, I have the impression that this often happens after a few years.
Edit: Oh! And did you have to dowgrade you bootloader before install kitkat ? I also tried to install kitkat on a defective note 4 motherboard and I had a lot of bug, but it was without repartion and with a one file firmware (I did'nt find any 4 files/repair firmware for the n915fy with android 4.4). Also an important part of link of firmware listed on samsung-update for kitkat are dead.
( Main question below at the end in Bold Italic ) ...... So here's what happened.
I was using ( probably Sept 2020 ) Security Patch on my phone and everything was well. Then there were 2 software updates from Samsung, both were security updates. I initially didn't upgrade to October update, because the phone was already nearing 4 years from launch and I did have a bit of experience with Samsung where I felt it sometimes got slower especially in end updates , and this update was given in one month from sept update which was weird for a 3.5 year old phone, but later January 2021 Security update was also out and I decided to upgrade to at least October patch. Upon upgrading to October Update my Sensors stopped working ( - Iris scan, accelerometer, gyroscope , light sensor - they just turn on for a sec and stop working, I still believe it isn't a fault with Sensor microcontroller,. So I then did all the steps like clearing cache partition, etc as described in various threads & forums. None helped and finally I upgraded to January patch and yet the problem isn't gone.
The bootloader has been upgrader to some 'B' version as from what I can say from my current PDA Version G950FXXSBDUA3 which was earlier G950FXXSADT1I . So That was bootloader version A I assume. Before which there has been One Bootloader version 9 - which I prefer to downgrade to and then turning off auto update system from dev options.
----------------------------Main Question ------------------------------------------------------
So my main doubt was :- If I Download the July firmware which has those 4 files in it, not load the old bootloader file and then flash it via ODIN, will KNOX TRIP ? will it be 0x1 ? Because I want to continue using Samsung Pay , Samsung Health , Secure Folder and other apps. P.S. Do share if you have done anything like this on any other Samsung phone ( after 2014 - when e-fuses were introduced in them ) and did it trip KNOX ?
**I don't remember, but I did it trip on a Galaxy Note 3 when I was a kid. Can't experiment much with ODIN. Before it used to be one PDA file, now I am wondering if flashing only AP file works ?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Got some part of my answers. Odin won't flash older firmware - at least if you don't turn on OEM Unlocking in Developer options, and it prevents Knox from tripping. I won't try OEM Unlocking as of now. I tried loading only the old AP file and not the bootloader file, and it failed ( got suck in middle ), then I tried all 4 files of old firmware, and still, it failed. So overall got the answer can't downgrade without tripping KNOX as of now. There is something like a developer bootloader or so, but I don't know about that.
