Where is sprints stupid visual voicemail app? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note5

Like title says, trying to delete.

A stupid search would probably work.

Classy.
Did do a search and couldn't find it.

Considering you can't simply uninstall it, did you try a search in the system apps area of your device by chance?

Yes, find nothing voicemail releated. Must be named something goofy?

This? system/priv-app/VVM

Why can't we delete pre loaded bookmarks

Is there a way to delete them after rooting?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
You might not be able to delete them but you might be able to edit them.. At least that is what I did on my vibrant.
Download bookmarks manager, its free in the market. You don't need root. Delete the ones you don't want, then uninstall.

Alternately download skyfire browser and go to bookmarks, delete them in skyfire and then uninstall. Stupid that they are locked in the first place.
Just tried above suggestions and still cant delete preloaded bookmarks...anything else i can try?
another possibility
once you have a browser that sets bookmarks. google has no way of knowing that you didnt put them there and backs them up. also the bookmarks are hard coded into the browser apk. so unless you edit the source or apk i dont think you can get rid of them because each time you restart the browser it reads it from the file and places the book marks there. Is easy for the modified roms to remove these so dont worry.

[Q] How do I remove stock Mobile Hotspot???

I know I may get flogged for asking this but I searched thoroughly (i think) and found nothing. As stated in the title, I want to learn how I can remove this app/program. I am rooted running EE4 GummyCharged with imnuts Voodoo Lagfix kernal. I tried to remove using Titanium Backup but it does not appear as an app. Can someone please help?
This was asked previously and the answer is it can't be removed. Apparently the app is built into the phones framework or something so removal is technically impossible. Sorry.
It is built into the framework, so someone would have to find it in the framework and remove it, hoping that it doesn't break anything else in the process.
Bummer...
Thanks for the quick response. This app just annoys me more than anything. It always seems to run in the background. I'm constantly killing it.
Thanks again!

I think you can just freeze it with Titanium Backup....they will correct me if I'm wrong.

You can't freeze it with titanium.

What in the name of Zod is LocalTryTry?

This has just been sitting in the my apps section of marketplace since I ran market doctor in Titanium Backup. I have absolutely no idea what this app does, (if anything) both the description and Whats New text simply says LocalTryTry followed by two screen shots of a three paned interface that is completely blank. Attempting to update the app fails and I can find no actual trace of it's existence on my transformer anywhere.
So I ask, what is this thing had how do I get rid of it? Frankly Its freaking me out a bit.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.asus.weatherwondered the samething. just looked on the market page. It says in the url com.asus.weather. thanks for making me look.

Well that seems to be that mystery solved
I have exactly the same problem.
It came about exacly the same way i have tried using two different roms with the same result.
Have you got rid of it and how you did it.
Thanks

Using Titanium Backup just unlink LocalTryTRy (Asus weather) from the market and it stops nagging you about updates that always fail.
Well first post gets an answer pretty quick.
Pretty easy when you know how
Thanks for you help.
So instead of breaking the market link is there a way to port the update again? If I knew how I would since that seems like a better option.

Malware Pop Up - OK

I just visited this forum form my Nexus 5 and a pop up stating that I had malware appeared. It said if I wanted to remove it. I was gonna click 'NO', then I thought "Well, this is xda-developers..." so I... pressed 'YES'.
Nothing happened. Closed the tab and nothing seems to have happened. Did I install malware? Did I get an infection of any kind?
Thanks.
Hi,
Something like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696660&page=16 ?
If yes, report in the thread above (there are another threads about that but this one is the main about XDA and ads).

A malware won't tell you that it is a malware. Also, if you dont have an Antimalware installed, why did you hit yes? common sense. it was maybe an ad. next time hit the back button on your phone and never touch a pop up

Then what should I do now? How can I be sure it was just an ad or something harmeless? I'm even considering restoring from a nandroid backup made with TWRP...

If you are using custom Rom, it likely has a modified hosts file that blocks redirection from ads and nothing just happened.
did it take you to another page out of xda? do you have new icons on the home screen? if so, download Airpush detector and run it. it will detect fake apps
I dont think anything installed on your phone unless you saw something downloading. It was an advertisement looking for click or to sell you a fake antimalware solution.

I'm using stock ROM. 4.4.2. It didn't redirect me anywhere. I ended up running a couple of anti malwares which found nothing. I then restored from my most recent backup. Didn't wanna take any chances...
At least now I know these messages are fake...

well done. extra safety is always better.
It's one of those stupid popup adverts that - when it works - takes you to a page pretending to do a scan, then says something like "We found 247 viruses on your phone! Install Dave's Antivirus 2014 to remove them!"
I expected more of XDA.

[Q] Certain Applications for Certain things?

Hey, is there a way of app that will make some apps not viable for certain things. For example, if you have 2 browsers, everytime u click a link, it will say "Chrome, Youtube" and then you have to chance to press Always. but then it pops up again... is there like a way to make Chrome not be viable for opening youtube links or something? Thanks for your help!

If you select Always, it is supposed to never show you the selection box again unless you reset app preferences or perhaps download a new option. Only thing I could think to try is reset app preferences and try it again.
Any app that you previously clicked "always use this app", can be reset, and next time you click a link, it will ask you what app you want to use....can he done by going to system settings, apps, all, find the app that's currently the default, click it....and click "clear defaults".
