You could use AdGuard as it works without root. As for Greenify, your best option is to use the non root mode.

i don't think so ask the developer
Hi, my LG-C555 is unlocked & rooted and currently runs Android 2.2. I wanted/needed to change the internal firmware so I tried Gingerbreak (1.0, 1.1 and 1.2) but none of them seems to work.
I was able of pushing gingerbreak.apk (version 0, 1 and 2) to the /data/app folder with the USB debugging mode ON and I also have inserted a formated/mounted SD card in the phone.
Then I installed it normally, the installation started but never ended, it stayed in an infinite loop (more than 1 hour)... I had to reboot.
How did you manage to install it properly on yours?
Thank you for your time,
highmighty
Hi all,
The Gingerbreak installation starts on my rooted-network-unlocked LG-C550 but it never ends, it stays in an infinite loop (more than 1 hour)... it finally needed a reboot and unfortunately nothing has changed with the firmware version, it's still Android version 2.2, what could be the problem?
Also, could someone tell me how can I force a flash of the same default "firmware" into it?
I suspect a problem with the installed firmware so that's why I wanted to try Gingerbreak to see if my problem would go away...
Your help is much appreciated!
Regards,
highmighty
@highmighty
It looks like the exploit, which Gingerbreak uses is fixed, you can try to use the Stock-ROM of your phone. There are many other ways out there to root phones. I got my Huawei Boulder rooted with superoneclick, maybe that will do it for you too. If you find a solution please post it here for others.
Best regards

SuperOneClick worked great. Thanks for the advice. I sucessfully rooted an LG C555 from Koodo.
Hi, just a question here. My sister gave me a C550 or C555.
Does the root unlock simlock at the same time, like others devices, or not?
Hi everyone!
I´m new here in the forum, and i´m also new in this android world. So, i got a Transformer TF101G recently, and i have researched a lot about android and this device. I discovered this forum, which has been particularly useful, and learned a lot. So, to the questions...
1 - My device is B90 and if I rooted the device can I take it back to factory status?
2 - If I brick trying to root can I return it to normal?
3 - There are any ROM's for TF101G? (That can use a SIM card to acess the web)
4 - If there are ARM versions of linux distro's, why it is not possibly to just install them like an ordinary PC?
PS - I know that the majority of the questions as solutions for B70 and lower devices, but how about B90?
Thanks a lot,
BU2T3R.

1. Yes, im pretty sure you could flash the original firmware from Asus and it will unroot.
2. Im not sure, but if you do manage to get bricked. What you could try do is wipe all data.
3. Yes, look in the Development section i know i've seen roms supporting 3g.
Hoped i helped a little lol
Hi!
Yes you did, thank you for your help. I could find a bunch of ROM's that support 3G. About question one, I read some users saying there is no "sure-fire" way to recover from brick on SBKv2 devices =(. Besides that I've OTA .23 so as I discovered nothing for me to root. Even the .21 are difficult and doesnt work with everybody. If someone could answer de questions, please do.
Thank you,
BU2T3R.

Thanks a lot for the info! I´ve searched in Nachoroot thread and I could see many people have done it. But now I have a question about this NachoRoot, the final results are the same as any other root method?
Thank you,

Yes, there is no difference. Only way to root is different. In the end everybody ends up with a su file in /system/xbin (and superuser).
root = root
Hy, Thank you for checking out my post.
I got little problem,
So i wanted to play Clash Of Clans on my phone, the only problem i have is that the application is incompatible.
So searched some fixes how to do that, and the majority of them were APK file's or Buildprop or Market Helper.
And they all looked great and that they would work, but every time you needed to Root your phone.
This is my first time rooting a phone so i wanted to be sure i would not make any mistake's or fails.
So i was looking up on how to root my HTC Desire S, and i came a cross this site that noticed me on the program called: HTC Quick Root, but im wondering what to do from there since there are no tutorials or forum's that show this work's, or maybe i am just a retard in searching stuff...
But yea, i was wondering if you guys know if its: Safe? Or how it works? and what Root Method to choose (Universal Exploit or Insecure Boot.img, i want Market Helper btw)
Pleas let me know, and if you guys think im a dump ass and im doing something really wrong, pleas dont go hard on me, im a noob

You need S-OFF + insecure kernel to use the Quick Root.
Easy way to gain ROOT access:
Unlock your bootloader using HTCdev.com
Flash TWRP (custom recovery) via fastboot
Flash SuperSU (root) via TWRP

Do mean that i need to be in S-Off modus to root, or does quick root do that for me?
What do you mean with Root access, do i need TWRP and SuperSU to root with quick root?
I hope you understand, i am new to all of this, so pleas dont get mad.

Any reason to get mad ?!
root = gain root access for your device
S-ON/S-OFF means "Security Flag" of your device on/off. Stock is S-ON
I can't suggest the "quick root" as it won't make anything easier for you if your device is running stock android.
TWRP is a "custom recovery" which gives you the ability to flash any custom roms or zip files. SuperSU is a zip file that will grant you permanent root access.

HTCdev.com -> click "unlock Bootloader" provides a detailled step-by-step guide. Stock android means non-rooted android as it came with the device. Once you've unlocked the bootloader I can assist you using Skype.

Hi guys,
I'm getting a new phone soon (hopefully the OnePlus 3!) and of course I'll be rooting, my question is do one click root solutions like Kingo and One Click Root actually work?
I know it's "lazy" but I mostly just want root access and am not particularly bothered about unlocking the bootloader or installing a custom recovery, would using a one click program (assuming they work) be more or less likely to brick/cause bootloops/other issues than conventional methods?
Thanks in advance
Hello everyone !
I'm the lucky owner of a cat S41 and I'm quite happy of it except that ..... there seems to be absolutly nowhere on internet with a functionnal root for it, or a custom recovery. And, as probably many of you, I'm unhappy without root :crying: (espacially since i have to move all my data !)
So ! Is anyone aware of a working root or recovery for it ?
Hope someone will warm my heart !
thank you

kingroot?
Tried, failed ....
I tried Kingo root, king root, one-click root and other apps, but without success too...
Sorry for OT, but I think about buying this phone. Can you deactivate the google calendar without root on this phone?
What do you mean by "deactivate the google calendar", you can always go on Parameters, app, calendar, deactivate, if this is your question
Oh my friend, we are cursed .... If you find out a solution, i would be pleased
An other post to follow, if there is a solution ont he other post, i will notify you here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/cat-s41-to-root-device-figure-t3730027

I tried the post above but all links are broken, nothing found in medifire after completing the silly surveys.
Can anyone provide system image and tool to flash? root or not. Thanks
Someone asked CAT on Twitter if CAT would be willing to sell a Rooted S41 for, like, $30 more, without warranty coverage for bricked phones. (No loss to CAT that way. A win-win since they would make money.)
CAT said Not Interested.
Help me find the android 7.0 firmware for CAT S41.
Did anyone try Magisk? I've seen a way to root the S31 that is not here on XDA, but that seems to have worked for who posted it. They used MiracleBox, if that helps. Here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83380211&postcount=4. Maybe the same method works here?
Also, has anyone tried to unlock the bootloader of the phone? Is that possible?
