Samsung Galaxy S7 Low Light Test - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi guys,
Got my hands on a European S7 for a day or two, I won't go into details but here are some low light camera shots.

Much appreciated. Do they look over exposed to you? Is it the best camera you've ever used?
I've ordered but am not excited, my nexus 6p is doing just fine
And finally, are we Europeans getting the EXYNOS?

I think this is Exynos but I cannot be certain. Any application I use to check the specs comes back as "Processor Unknown"
In regards to the pictures, all I can say is the first few were taken in extremely dark environments and whilst I was pleased with the results when viewing on screen, when enlarged they are not fantastic.
HOWEVER I don't think I have ever used a camera on a smartphone as good as this in low light. In normal lighting conditions, the 6S Plus (my daily driver) seems better but this is without extensive testing, the S7 really shines in low light situations.
It's as great camera and I doubt anybody will have any issues with its performance.
In regards to the S7 itself, there is the occasional lag on the operating system however all in all it builds on last year and it's much smoother.
I've owned every Galaxy S device, and by far this is the best generation but anybody coming from an S6 will struggle to be excited. It's certainly not as fluid as a 6P, which I have owned too.

Then what was the entire point of this thread if you had the flash on. Smh

I would think because that is how most people actually take pictures when it is dark... So it is a real world test, not some theoretical/lab nonsense.
Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Really for a low light test you really shouldn't be using the flash lol.

Maybe so, but pretty much everyone I know leaves the settings all on auto, which usually uses the flash when it's dark.

It's all good bro. I'm just messing with you.
I just said that as the title suggests low light test, meaning not even the flash.

Hello
Some of my low light pictures taken with SM-G935F

I think the photo are very good. Of course you use flash light in this condition.

If you use the flash which we all know is a light source then how can you test how the camera performs in low light?

[Q] Camera Performance

Hey, M8 owners. I'm a note 3 owner looking at the M8. I came from the M7 but sold it mostly due to the camera performance and lack of expandable storage. The latter has been addressed and from I've read the camera has improved as well. However, I wanted to get the opinions of actual owners about the quality of photos taken with the M8. I'm especially interested in hearing opinions from those that frequently photograph their kids. So, please chime in with your experience.
TIA!

I came from the Note 3 and really the only thing that I miss is the camera. While the M8 camera has some cool gimmicks, the note 3 really took great photos. That said, the build quality and everything else about the phone I love - even with a smaller screen. I haven't looked back and the camera is sufficient enough for everyday use.
hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. It's a little discouraging, but I think I'll hit up a Verizon store with my daughter tomorrow and do some thorough testing of the camera. It sounds like some of the auto settings are less than ideal but that a few manual adjustments can really improve performance.

Taken in mid air. Did I spam the shutter button.... Yes. Got some blurry ones too. But for kids and everyday photography, its excellent

I own both devices and have to say that the Note 3 takes better pictures as far as I am concerned. What I will say is that I have a main line and a business line and the M8 is the phone I choose to be on the main line. Here is an example of pictures from both:

Cool, thanks. Looks good. I played with the M8 today. My daughter wasn't up to going to Verizon with me, but I think I got a good feel for the camera. Shutter speeds are fast and shot to shot tines were impressive. By no means am I a highly skilled photographer, I just want to be able to capture decent shots of my kids. I think I'll try to pick one up and give it a go. Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Here's two I took over the weekend. If someone wouldn't mind sharing their manual settings I would appreciate that. I just used HDR. These images on my desktop PC background are blurry and pixelated but look good enough for mobile viewing.

I never got that to work, only double tapping to turn on, it must be sensitive. Also that's why I'm not a huge fan of the camera :/
I upgraded from the DNA as well, and so far I don't have any complaints. The camera isn't the best but I knew that going in.

You can improve the camera a lot by the custom settings.
.
^this was a bit over saturated
The cameras not really bad. It's a 4 'ultra pixel' but it's good in low light and all the effects I.E 3D makes up for the la lacking pixels. I love the phone coming from a note 3. The build quality, display, size, speakers, and speed is what I favor most.
I'm not a real fan of sense but I took care of that with nova launcher and the viper1 Rom? I recommend that Rom if you're thinking about rooting ?
HTC ONE M8?
After a little over a week of use my experiences with this phone has been nothing but positive... Of course the camera leaves a lot to be desired but other than that, smooth sailing.. After a day of use on a full charge I still have 50% + left. It almost lasted 2 days that's a lot more improvement over the droid DNA.. I haven't rooted yet, I'm actually kind of scared and hesitant to. On another note I feel like I made the right decision over and S5..

Yeah it stinks.. hopefully it's no t hardware
I also have that ....
Heard from others that it's a hardware problem and the only fix is exchange. Other carriers seem to send a new device. How is the verizon?
It seems that we are getting refurbished one after 14days of purchase according to
http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/device-replacement-program/#defect
Anyone tried to talk or chat with Verizon Customer service?

Galaxy s7's front camera blurry

Just received my galaxy s7. Front facing camera is blurry like hell. Its much inferior than galaxy s6 and my oneplus one. Definitely something wrong with this. No smudges on lens too. Not a faulty device too as i have seen so many posts about this issue. How can we escalate this issue to samsung? And i youtube i can see lot of very good quality front facing videos. Worried [emoji26]

Can everyone post their model, build date/location, HW rev, and FW version into this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/facing-camera-focus-issue-post-build-t3365536
got my s7 edge last week and also recognized the blurry front cam quality. thats quite disappointing, cause my old iphone 5s with its 1.2MP front camera takes pictures with visible single hairs..... CAM FW is I05LLIA00CM.

Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
As per my observation. A software fix will do the job. Focusing is fine for background objects (unintended areas)
And details are also very good. While i am trying to take a selfie there are no details much. Now i have tried taking along with my hand (i just put my hand in front of my face) in this case my face got focused with good details and my hand went into out of focus. This must be treating background as forground and vice-versa. This is just my observation.

T-Mobile Updates

Samsung seems to be throwing their weight around like they should have been. I have seen more updates in less than a month than a lot of their device has seen in 2 years.

I haven't seen any hiccups or anything like that so far. Been going through the settings and such to find any changes or see if certain bugs are fixed. For example the hide edge panel still doesn't work from the lock screen.

It's the freaking wireless carriers who are in collusion with our regulatory bodies. They are untouchable and provide only the bare minimum required service while charging maximum dollar for it.
