Hey friends,
I have am H950. It was previously rooted, but I unrooted it using SuperSu.
Whenever I go into Download Mode, the phone says, "Updating Firmware -- DO NOT disconnect USB cable." It then stays at 0% and doesn't do anything.
I need to get into Download Mode to flash the phone back to stock but this Firmware update is preventing me from doing it. I used LG Mobile Support to try and manually update the firmware, but it says that it's already up to date.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Try using lg up to flash you don't need to put it in download mode........
Are you sure your device is unrooted? As far as I know SuperSU is not the tool to unroot for our devices...
It is download mode, just start lg mobile support tool..

Hello,
i have a problem, i need to flash baseband ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149530 ) on my LG.
But LGMDP.exe doesn't shows my phone on Select port. But ONLY LGMDP.exe. I have usb debugging enabled.
So what can I do that it shows my phone, so I finally can flash baseband?
Hope you can help me fast.
Thanks.
Yours sincerely,
LegendZz
Have you installed LG Drivers
Sent from my GT-I9082 using xda premium
Yes, I have installed LG Drivers, PC Suite and so on, but dont work
Have you disabled lg modem from control panel>properties in your PC? After disabling, reboot PC & then connect phone.

for people, like me also, that LGMDP doesn't show device, you need to have installed LG drivers, disabled LG modem from device manager, reboot into recovery, conect phone to pc, go to advance/mounts and mount USB, that shoud make LGMDP show the device(maybe it will take some little time to detect it and instal drivers), from LGMDP select country and language, carrier, phone model and shoud see if there are updates for it and install them and after all is done reboot
AND DO NOT TRY TO UPDATE TROUGH KDZ BECAUSE ALOT OF PEOPLE HAD HARDBRICKED THEYR PHONES (USING KDZ IS NOT FOR EVERYBODY), ONLY USE LGMDP,
AN IF YOU EVENTUALY USED KDZ AND GAVE YOU ERROR, DO NOT PULL OUT BATTERY, JUST RETRY AGAIN UNTILL IS ALL DONE OK,
IF ALSO, YOU WILL NEED TO GET YOUR DEVICE TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND THAT IS NOT FOR FREE, OR IN THE WORST CASE YOU WILL NEED A NEW PHONE
Ok first off, the whole reason I'm in this mess is because I couldn't get the phone to connect with my PC. I tried different cables, ports, and drivers. The official Samsung drivers have the message "device driver software was not successfully install;d ". So I basically couldn't connect it to my PC at all. Now since I had it rooted through towelroot I thought I'd use Flashify to flash TWRP. So I did. Now after a reboot I get the message, “System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone.”. Now I have ODIN installed with the stock firmware downloaded but ODIN won't recognize my device. Any help at all would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Anything guys? Just getting ODIN to recognize my phone would help so much.
Do you have your phone in download mode? Beyond that, I'm not really sure. Everything I see that talks about odin just talks about download mode with no mention of any drivers or anything.

First of all what version of Android are you on?
From my CM11 S3
Previously, I've talked about how I bricked my G920T by using an apk to try to root my phone.
Then I tried to do a factory reset with the stock recovery but it wouldn't even go into the stock recovery. So I flashed TWRP and wiped the whole phone including the system partition.
Then I tried to flash a stock 6.0.1 firmware to the phone but doing so did not improve the situation as my phone still won't boot. Even worse, when I power my phone, all I see is the blue LED indicator, no Samsung logo, nothing.
Then I tried to flash a custom ROM like XtreStoLite but that didn't fix anything either.
When I use TWRP or the stock recovery, the error "failed to mount /efs (invalid argument)" comes up on the log. I tried using the ADB method to fix it but my phone would not get recognized by ADB probably because USB debugging isn't on by default.
I cannot shut down the phone without having it charged to a power source then holding down PWR+DOWN VOLUME+HOME until the screen shuts off.
When I enter download mode, I don't see the warning screen, I enter the download mode directly.
It will warm you when you enter download. Or use TWRP and reboot into Download.Once in download flash the ROM using Odin. Get the latest one from SamFirm.
P.S. Next time root using CF Auto Root

It doesn't warn me when I enter download mode, that's one of the problems.
I tried flashing the official ROM using ODIN, it still won't boot because of the efs error.
1) Download the latest SmartSwitch
2) Click on more -> Emergency software recovery and initialization
3) Go into Device initialization, enter your model name, search for it and proceed as advised by the assistant
That should fix everything, otherwise:
1) Download the latest official firmware for your model, the 4-File (or 3-File) Version
2) Use latest ODIN, check repartition in options
3) Select all the files and flash it
If EFS or DRK is corrupted, flashing roms, custom or not won`t help, it can be fixed via repair box maybe (Octoplus/Z3X)
Try to flash CF auto root for your model, if it still won`t boot, then find someone with a box to try to help you remotely or not.
But Smart Switch emergency initialization with phone sn would be the first thing I would try.

Which mode should I be in when using SmartSwitch? No devices are shown when I have it plugged in during the bootup, and is so too in download mode but shows a not supported message.

Well if you know someone who have a box, it doesn`t have to be remotely.
If not, it is possible to fix it remotely, with help of usb hub (FlexiHub or similar), tunneling (TeamViewer or similar) and box software (you connect phone to your computer, the other guy connects box to his computer, both of you are connected through a gateway to a wonderfull thing called internet, and everybody is happy ) .
Same as on site, just with few more things in between the phone, and the box.

The S/N sticker on the back of the phone is long gone, is there any other way I can find it besides from going into settings because I can't do that?
EDIT: I am able to borrow a friend's serial and got the firmware installed.
The Samsung boot logo is back now, however, the device still won't boot. The efs error is still there but the download mode warning sign came back.
EDIT #2: Okay, I flashed TWRP now and ADB is working once again. Can I utilize this to fix the efs error?
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930A. I recently rooted my phone and it was causing alot of problems such as slowdown and bugs. So, I tried to put stock firmware on it and I was unsuccessful. Now my phone is stuck in a boot loop. I need to know how to properly install stock firmware into my phone because I have followed guides on XDA'S website and Odin keeps failing. I really need help with this because I don't even have a working cell phone.

Download samsung kies 3 and put the phone in download mode and try to recover the phone by flashing the default firmware that came with the phone.

Thank you for the response but when I connected my phone to Kies 3, I got a message that said "we do not support this device". I have also tried Samsung Smart Switch and that did not work either. Is there another method for restoring my phone and getting it out of the bootloop?

Yes i know you get that msg in kies but you still will be able to flash the orig fw back to the device with kies. Just put the phone in download mode before hooking up the phone to the pc then start kies
And go to the top bar and select the 4th tab where you will see recovery. Then it will ask you for the model number and some other things and after that it will flash the fw for you. I have done this a couple of times now so i can tell you 100% that it will work

I'm actually trying to do exactly this now, and have tried re-entering the correct model number and serial number into Kies numerous times.
No matter what, Kies continues to state "Please check the model name and enter it" even though all of the info entered is correct.
Any suggestions? I'm doing this with my G930A on Nougat (model "SM-G930A")
Hi everyone, I ran into a serious problem today with my S6 G920F. I was running stock android 7 with Magisk and TWRP installed, I flashed the firmware using Flashfire from the Google Play store.
This morning the phone decided it would stop charging, a problem I faced with Android M. Anyway I reflashed the firmware package but this time i chose NOT to select the options to inject supersu and save my custom recovery, thinking that I could get it back to stock and re root it from there.
The phone previously would not boot if either Magisk or SuperSu was not installed (after i rooted it), it would just endlessly loop. Unfortunately this was the case after i flashed the firmware .
I assumed it would be a quick fix as I could just use Odin to flash the stock firmware . Unfortunately I was wrong again: my computer gives me an error message "USB Device Not Recognized" no matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall the Samsung Driver, Odin wont detect the phone either. Even Smart Switch is at a loss. The phone is currently plugged into my PC and is charging normally, I CAN boot into stock recovery and download modes.
SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!! :crying::crying::crying:
Seems very obvious now but I found the solution I found the original cable that came with the phone; plugged it into the PC and just like that the computer registered that it was a Samsung devices and started installing drivers right away, seems like the P8 Lite cable I was using isnt a data cable?
I was able to flash TWRP using Odin and flashed Magisk using TWRP. All is well
