Downloadable security update XT1572 EU - Version 24.11.18 - X Style (Pure) General

Just captured this OTA security februari patch which I received today on my EU XT1572 Moto X Style. Thought it was a good idea to share it. Link:

Thanks. Was curious about the different builds from the Brazil 1572. Must be dual sim?

I assume it must be installed via TWRP?

Any word on when US version will get it?

Wonder if systemless root works with this

You know what happens to people who "assume". Any OTA has to see stock recovery before it will install. I'm on twrp 3.0.0 and it downloaded to cache but won't install.

This OTA has been received on my single sim device. You need to be definitely on stock recovery and unrooted as far as I know.

What if I flashed stock recovery.img and still can't install the update? The stock recovery says only 'error' when trying installing the update normally.

MANY people including myself installed the MM ota via twrp.

Failed to update via TWRP with error message "Updater process ended with ERROR=7"

Any progress with flashing on rooted? Or do we definitely need to unroot?

Go to the other thread, download the full version from the first post, flash using TWRP.

Yes if it is made flashable ROM with included update.
Looks like xt1572 needs to wait for a flashable ROM with included update.
Note: My Sig shows what I'm running. Which Feb update is implemented. I flashed it with twrp.
Edit: Unless op made the flashable ROM zip.

Will the systemsless root still work if I update to the new version?

I'm currently running FRD-L09C432B101 with a systemless root and systemless xposed, will these still work if I update to FRD-L09C432B120 ??
Still don't fully understand the systemless process since it seems you don't have to have an as specific root for each phone version as you do with a regular root, but that could also be me just not getting how it works when I rooted my phone the last time.
Thnx
//Jim
Normally, you can't update by OTA if you have root, and if you want to install a firmware the root will go
I have the same question as OP. I know root usually disappears when updating OTA but not sure how it works with this systemless technique.

Sure but I thought that the point with systemless root is that you are supposed to download and install OTA updates? And updates usually doesn't erase anything in my experience.

Unlock Star Wars wallpapers, theme and clock on op5t 6 or 8gb ram

Hi,
I'm sharing this to start a conversation about the user experience.
The unlocking process works on both version of the op5t.
Here is the link (https://www.xda-developers.com/offi...ers-oneplus-5t/amp/?__twitter_impression=true) for the process on oos 4.7.2 non-root.
If you're on oos 4.7.4 or 4.7.5 non-root you can use the method of CareDood by downgrading:
How to do it without twrp/root with completely stock 4.7.5 phone. No data lost.
Download full 4.7.2 zip from:
http://otafsg1.h2os.com/patch/amazon...7ca8ad1c7d.zip
Dirtyflash it via stock oneplus recovery. Boot up in 4.7.2, throw in the magical indian model dialer code *#*#9339#*#* and reboot. Then just grab the ota back to 4.7.5. and be a happy camper. Running the starwars theme on stock 4.7.5 now.
You can revert by doing the same thing, just using dialer code *#*#3392#*#* , but you will lose the theme.
I personaly don't know if it's working on other stock version so just read the post from other people.
If your op5t is rooted, download the file from lupick. The flash has to be done on bluespark recovery.
If you want to go back to op5t original, do this share by panart,
Download the 'starwars_enable.zip' file from lupick, open it, go to 'sys/module/param_read_write/parameters', extract 'cust_flag', open it with a text editor (e.g. Notepad++) and change the value from '2' to '0', save the file (without an extension), replace the original 'cust_flag' file in 'starwars_enable.zip' and flash it in TWRP.
You can also flash the zip file "star wars_disable".
Thank you for your time and your feedback everyone.
Special thanks to lupick, CareDood and panart.
Don't forget to hit thanks if this thread is helpfull and thanks everybody who's helping you.
You should be able to unlock it flashing this in TWRP.
