Most durable case for the Note 4? - Galaxy Note 4 Accessories

Just wondering, what is the most durable case for the Note 4?
Aesthetics, thickness, bulkiness, etc are not a concern - just looking at the most durable case. I'm currently using the Otterbox Defender, but I find the front frames tend to crack at times.

I use this one myself after reading around on the net of the views.. Says out of stock at moment but I'm sure there will be more in soon.. Free delivery and also next day signed for http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/272061877903

Personal preference for me is the Thor, by Verus.Slim, offers good protection (I've dropped phone numerous times with no ill effects).I use the Otterbox Commuter on occasion, another slimline case with good protection. At work I use the Zeroshock case that comes with the Zerolemon 10000 MaH battery,I've never worried about the phone in that case.

For me it's verus thor

Supcase UNICORN BEETLE PRO series of cases are also a good choice for those who want Otterbox protection at an affordable price.

That's a pretty slick looking case. I've always had an Otter, but I may check one out, especially for $25. I really like how the S-Pen is covered.
To the OP, I've used Otterbox Defenders for the last 5 years. I generally remove the built-in screen protector and install a tempered glass one. They've survived falls from at least five feet onto concrete, tile, pavement, etc many times. Otterboxes certainly aren't cheap, but from my experience you actually get what you pay for. Build quality is excellent, and the one time I did have a belt clip fail, they sent an entire new unit out, no questions asked.
EDIT: I've never had a frame crack - just the clips that held the two halves together, but they seem to have fixed that on the newer models.

I have got UAG Folio Case:
http://nl.urbanarmorgear.com/collections/samsung-galaxy-note-4-cases
Excellent cases

I've been using the Seidio Convert as soon as it was available for the Note 4 and I haven't looked back. It's survived numerous drops onto concrete(from waist height), down stairs and has even taken a fall from the from the back of a horse. The only issue I have is the belt clip tabs are a bit weak and I've had to replace it several times, but those are cheap and I always order 2-3 at a time.
Another nice thing about the Seidio is the belt clip is removable, so you can leave the belt clip on and remove the holster when you sit at a desk or in your car. As part of the removable belt clip, they have a modular system that takes advantage of the setup and they have car mounts, desk mounts, arm bands and Go-Pro like assemblies that allow you to attach your phone pretty much anywhere. http://www.seidioonline.com/QUEST-Mounting-System-s/9139.htm

I've been using UAG cases (Urban Armour Gear) for the longest time. They never disappoint me, extremely durable without being too thick.

Verus for me,excellent quality

It all depends on what you want in a case. If it's all round protect you want from drops then the Otterbox Defender is the want that you want on your device. I'm currently using a Spigen Tough Armor Case on my Note 4 and I love it. It makes my Note 4 feel better in my hand and looks like it would stand up to any accidental drops. I got the Gunmetal version, which has a dark silvery shine to it make my Note 4 look very attractive.

Is this Tech 21 case hard to remove? I swap batteries a lot. Thanks.

Get a nokia 3310, chop your note 4 and place it inside, voila. You have an indestructible case!

I've recently started mountain biking and want a case to protect my phone from all the crashes and bumps I have. Something waterproof would be good too. Any recommendations for what would be best?

I have a few, from a UAG to Slim Armor from Spigen and a couple of others...
the most effective, slim and well designed to protect the phone is actually the official case from Samsung.
I've dropped my note 4 a few times and still good as new.

Can I still get this case somwhere?

Personally, i would recommend SUPCASE. The case is very durable, adds a little extra grip to the hold. Its very solid and looks very nice from afar. This case is somewhat thin and not as bulky as an Outterbox. Overall the phone gives you the best of both worlds; from protection to style.

I am using Speck Candyshell Grip case. Great grip, protection and not bulky.

UAG (Urban Armor Gear) Case for the S4

A while ago I saw my friends case on her S4. It was the UAG case in an orange/grey color combo. She's had it a couple of months. It looked pretty cool, so iI asked her how she likes it.
Her response was that she likes it a lot.
I then asked her if she's ever dropped her S4. Her response was:
"Oh yeah, I drop it all the time."
That's exactly what I like to hear when determining whether I want to give a particular case a go
I liked the look of her case, but didn't know how it would hold up to drops regarding protecting the S4. I had been using a Cygnett WorkMate Evolution case for a month or so. I like it, but the UAG is a slimmer and better looking case, but I was unsure if it would protect my S4.
Well, I had my answer, as she 'drops it all the time," and her S4 is intact.
I purchased the UAG in black yesterday from Amazon and just received it today.
Here's my opinion so far:
- really nice looking case, minimalistic, yet protective
- fits the S4 perfectly. Snug as a bug in a rug, as they say
- generous usb and earphone plug ports
- volume and power buttons have an excellent/responsive/clickie feel to them.
- nice lip for screen facedown protection
- corner protective bumpers incorporate into the layout and total look of the case very well
- has a very nice feel in hand. Imo, can use a little grippier feel, but as I've only just received this case a few hours ago, I'll give it some time. I'm coming from the Cygnett WorkMate Evolution case, which is bulkier and grippier, so as I said, I'll know better in a couple of days regarding whether the not as grippy feel will be a factor.
- while the metallic UAG branding on the back of the case is of high quality, I'd rather have it blackened instead of the matt metallic it is now. I pay enough money for the case that I don't have to be a walking billboard for the UAG Company. I'll wait a bit, but I may dye the matt metallic to a darker color. Maybe not.....
- the UAG has now replaced my Cygnett as my EDC....
- protects my friend's S4 after 'dropping it all the time.'
After purchasing the UAG, and prior to receiving it today, I watched the linked video below, which also confirmed the protection of this case.
I also linked to Amazon, which shows the available colors.

I hated the Neo Hybrid too. I ended up keeping it because I forgot to fill out the return form Ahaha
I have the black UAG (Looks badass with the black s4), the orange (looks cool, I'll admit that, but in person and on your phone it looks a bit obnoxious) and the blue (I havent been using it that much, just love how sleek the black case is)
Actually have a hot pink one for the wifey's iphone 4 ( yes our house is divided haha) thats pretty cool.
I have the OD green for the s3 too and really wish they'd make an s4 version.

Nah, I'll keep the Black:laugh: (They don't make it for the S4 anyway, unless the Plasma is the equivalent of the Pink)
I almost ordered the Slate/Blue but chose the Black.

A month or so before getting the UAG case or any case, as I always went caseless, I ordered the glass tR I believe it was. I returned it because I decided to order a caseionly, and take my chances that the screen wouldn't take a direct hit to a corner or an edge of something.
At the time, I decided nottto oder the Slim because I thought it was too thin, and wouldn't protect the screen as well as the thicker protector. This was confirmed by SGP in response to an email I sent.
I think the Slim was .15mm, and the tR was .40mm and the glas t is .25mm without round corners if I remember correctly.
With the above being said, how does the UAG screen lip height and Glas t protector height match up?
I have been reading lots of posts in XDA trying to decide what my case should be. I bought the Incipio dual layer case just to get me by until I did some more research.
All of my other phones have had Seidio active case/ holster combos. They have been really good cases
I have been thinking of trying something different this time
The UAG is on the top of my list
Im in construction so I need to have a case that can withstand my environment. I have dropped my Rezound with the Seido case from about 10' on concrete multiple times and nothing ever happened to it.
Do you guys think it can hold up like the Sedio case does?
I remember seeing someones post in another topic in XDA that the UAG case will fit the Seido holster
Can anyone confirm this?
I also want to get a desktop charger for the phone, Is anyone with a UAG using a desktop charger, if so what charger are you using?
I have seen lots of people talking about screen protection and getting a case that has the front clear protector such as the otterbox. Im not sure why people think that a clear plastic cover would stop the screen from breaking, besides the screen is gorilla glass 3, if that screen takes a hit hard enough to break it, a thin layer of plastic wont make any difference other then to keep all the tiny pieces of glass from flying all over the place
Thanks for any info you guys might have
@Hitch_Itch
I can't answer all of your questions as I've not had experience with the accessories you've asked about, but the following will answer some of your questions:
- I have no doubt that the UAG will not fulfill your requirements for your environment.
- the UAG can survive up to a 6' drop, as per the videos, but I'm not sure if it would be on a consistent basis.
- my opinion would be that you would need a case that offered Full wrap protection such as the model you mentioned, that you dropped from 10' without issue. The UAG wrapped S4 would no doubt suffer massive injuries from that height
- in your environment, there would most likely be drops from even short distances were the S4 would hit an edge, corner, etc., land on its screen which would crack it, as the UAG case does not have a built in full wrap screen protector incorporated into it. As you mention, the screen protector would only protect against scratches.
- no way can the UAG hold up under extreme conditions such as the Seido case can.
This is because the UAG case is not meant to be. It doesn't fall under the Extreme Environment, Full Wrap, Closed Ports Umbrella, so to speak. That is a whole nutha subset of cases for quite different needs/requirements.
- If one is looking for an everyday case with a minimalist footprint, that is lightweight, easily slid into a pocket, offers adequate protection from drops normally encountered during everyday use, and is aesthetically appealing, I highly recommend the UAG. But for Extreme Environment survival, I don't recommend it for the reasons I mentioned earlier.
As is said, the right tool for the right job. Or something like that
While looking at the UAG, I came across many cases. One of theseccases was the Griffin Survivor.
I said to myself if I ever need a case to protect my S4 under the most of Extreme conditions, this is the case I'd take a serious look at and most likely purchase. I'm posting a link to it:

I just watched a bunch of video's on drop test for the UAG and in every video the screen cracked at a fall above 5'
Also watched a bunch of videos for the otter box and the Trident case drop tests, both protected the phone and some of the videos were a 50' toss down a set of concrete stairs.
Sounds like the UAG might not be the best case for me.
Thanks for the reply

It's Been a Week
Well, it's been a week since I received my UAG in Black for my S4.
I'll keep this short & sweet, as I posted in detail my observations about this case.
The UAG is definitely a keeper and am impressed with it.
As for the case maybe not being as grippy as I'd like, and I was going to let some time pass to see if it would be an issue, it's no issue at all. The case is not slippery at all, and offerers a good hold.
I haven't dropped the S4 yet, so I can't given you any feedback on drop protection, except what I wrote in my op.

Have ever had the Incipio dualpro case?
If so how does the Uag compare to it?

Verus Thor is the best case for the Note 4

there I said it.
-fits perfectly
-protects, like seriously
-not too thin, not too thick, just right
-not slippery, adds hand fitting design, holds well
-not fugly too thick for the sake of protection
-doesn't cost an arm and a leg
-isnt a lint or dirt magnet
-nothing crazy like waterproof or seethru
-protects your camera too, and front screen
-won't scratch your bezel
I just have to share this as many of you are still wasting time and money trying out diff cases. I suggest getting yourself a Thor first then knock yourself out with experimenting with all the others if you must. but for now, Thor is the best.
other companies really failed us on this one. they just wanted to release cases faster than they can test them out. turning us into guinea pigs.
Im sure that it doesnt have tech21 material on it. Tech21 cases are probably better than any cases out there and it has evidence with videos..
Pics?
I have to agree about the Tech21 case. I have it and it is light years away from the others I tried. Very nice case for the Note 4.
lol so superb
Agreed with LeoNote4 100%. I haven't removed the case since I got it. Much better feel than the Spigen cases. I have all of the Spigen cases and UAG Scout. May try the Tech21 Impact Tactical.
Anyone know if either of these will fit if I am using the OEM wireless charging cover?

at some point, a company has to find the perfect balance over one perfect feature. tech21 major design flaw is it's design. it prides itself and rightly so on total protection of the device. this comes at a huge compromise in design. in addition to that dull appearance, the case also creates a lot of smudge from your hands and fingers. it gets annoying to clean up everytime and it looks too gross to show others.
users would find themselves looking for a case that still provides decent protection, maybe bulletproof is overkill, but just enough safety feature and still covers all the other points. nobody said its perfect in all areas, but what Thor provides is that reasonable balance in design, protection, grip, price without compromising so much on one or two features.

Can anyone using the Verus Thor case recommend, ideally from experience, a good car mount? In part because of the curved sides, it's difficult for me to judge the case's effective width use in a car mount.

only $16.95 now still worth the money??
I'm still a fan of the Otterbox Defender and the UAG cases. I have used both on my Notes. I don't mind the additional thickness in exchange for protection. I have dropped my Note 3 from chest high onto my concrete driveway with each case and the phone has survived just fine. I have gotten out of my car and forgotten that my phone was in my lap, only to have it drop onto the concrete. No problem!! I have seen all of the video's and listened to the claims of other cases, but I can personally attest to the fact that the 2 cases I have mentioned will protect your investment should you ever drop it.

I don't know how you guys can put such an ugly bulky case on something so beautiful. Trust me, I'm all about protection, I've never cracked a phone before (*knock on wood*) but I feel like putting something like this iBlason case or the traditional OtterBox just covers up the true beauty of the phone. I usually go with a Spigen case (good protection, yet not as bulky). This time around I'm going for the Ringke Slim case with a wrist strap.

I understand where you're coming from and I too find the Ringke slim case exceptional in terms of looks and minor protection. But after using it for a whole month, I finally caved in and ordered an Otterbox Defender. I just don't want to be afraid of damaging my phone. Being able to use it with an extra peace of mind is worth sacrificing the appearance in my opinion. After all, you can always take it out of the case and it'll still be the beautiful, slim phone you purchased. But each to their own, I can only speak for myself.

Is Tech Armor for rugged case a good buy?
I have the UAG and the Otterbox Defender for mine. I used a UAG on my Note 2 for 2 years and was completely satisfied and feel that it is a solid case. However, I like the amount of protection the Otterbox Defender gives and I also like the way it adds some bulk to the phone. It seems easier to hold.
That being said, it does not fit well in my pocket and I've actually started using a belt clip (included with the case) for the first time. The belt clip also doubles as a stand for your phone when you are charging it.

That is what I ordered. It should arrive tomorrow. I'm a fan of the TGSP/Skin combo so a universal case like this is my preference. I find those combo cases too bulky for my small hands.

I am a long time Otterbox Defender user, but am considering the LK and MOKO cases you listed. I also am really interested in the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro. There is this I-Blason Prime Series as well. Also Seidio say they are working a case, but have not said what model.
I ordered this Story Leather Belt Clip Holster when I need something stylish and use the phone bare or with a simple skin. Now if it would only get here after 2 shipping delays.

the i-blason is just about identical to the moko, but the one for the nexus 6 last year used a plastic that i found to be VERY slippery in my hand. i tried it for about 2 weeks and didn't like the feel at all. the supcase is interesting, but i don't need an integrated screen protector. would rather use a nice tempered glass solution
one addendum to the moko (and i-blason) that i forgot to mention earlier...it still has this design issue where it's made for left-handed people. the phone attaches to the belt clip in the opposite way that a right handed person would use it. it's definitely not a show stopper, but it's annoying. i'll use it for the next couple of weeks and report back, but aside from this it's quite solid so far

I really like the Supcase but too bad it has a built in screen protector. Hate those things.
^^^
Just punch the built in one out and use a TGSP. That's what I do. Perfect.

I got this one for now, emergency purchase. It is terrible. REALLY bad. The kickstand isn't bad, but only 2 corners are protected by hard material. Hard to get in and out, and worse, as far as I can see you can't push the volume buttons because it is flush with the hard plastic they made the holes in.

BTW, the iBlason Prime looks much better, and a clip holster instead of a slide one too. Very nice. Just wish it came in other than black.

And double wow, just saw the Moko one in the colors and the volume issue doesn't exist. And a snap in holster? Purchased. This should get me through for now. I'm returning this other one I linked.

Technically it rotates so it can be used vertically or horizontally. Though using it horizontally might be a bit annoying. Horizontal ones are my preference but since this is a big phone a vertical one would be less awkward and feel better for me. I got the case in today. I'll let you know when my phone comes.
after a couple of days with the moko case its...ok. it is 100% absolutely designed for left-handed people, which is annoying. also, it takes quite a concerted effort to both unclip and clip the phone into the case. most of it i'm sure is due to being right-handed, but it's also a function of the fact that the part you insert into the holster first has a pretty tight fit. also, the really soft rubber has quite a bit of give when inserting and removing which is also annoying. feels like they could have used some less compliant rubber here. idk it's ok for now i guess.
i've ordered various normal cases (spigen, ringle, diztronic) as well as the seidio iphone 6 plus holster (new version) to see how it works based on the reddit post. that guy never responded, but from his pics and from looking at the specs of the various items i *think* these cases would fit in the holster fine. my only concern is the part where the spring clip touches the phone. it's going to be very close as to whether it rests on part of the case or on the glass of the phone itself (which would be a no-go for me). we'll see...

Would you happen to have come across what the difference(s) are between the 2 generations of the iPh6+ Surface holsters?
I'm still waiting to hear back from them.
Contemplating getting the first gen holster to use with Ringke, then eventually the Crash Guard or Play Proof.

does anyone have the supcase holster combo yet? i'm wondering how soft the rubber is compared with the moko. the moko is way too soft imo. it keeps basically trying to slip off every time i remove the phone from the holster. supcase looks a lot sturdier
also, if anyone's interested, my seidio iphone 6 plus holster is arriving thursday, which corresponds to when both the diztronic and ringle cases are supposed to arrive. so we shall see about that...

Ringke Fusion + iPh6+ Surface v1 holster = no go... at least not that well. The phone is too tall (flipped both ways). The latch is propped open about half way.
Going to test out my buddy's N6 Surface holster in a few days. Failing that, might have to just go with the full 6P Surface solution if they ever come out with it...
that's pretty shocking. isn't the ringle a pretty minimalist case? i don't have much experience with ringle but i would imagine it can't be much taller than the seidio surface case. the nexus 6p is nearly identical to the iphone 6s plus, there's like a 1mm difference in height. hard to imagine this would cause what you're describing. unless...maybe that's what the seidio revision from v1 to v2 was about? to allow for additional height for some reason?

Upon closer inspection, there are 2 "feet" on the bottom/back side of the case, about 1mm thick. This is causing the phone to not hit flush bottom of the holster. About 3-4mm gap from bottom of phone to bottom of holster.
Even if it were to sit flush bottom, it's still 2-3mm too tall.
Width-wise it's a nice fit.

Mine isn't here yet but I have that same case on my lg g3. That is hard stiff rubber and plastic parts. No give.

I have the Seidio N6 Surface holster. I used it with my N6 and the Supcase hybrid for the last year. I tried it with my 6P, and same thing that the 6P is too tall. the hinged latched it also propped open (N6P with the Ringke Fusion and the Supcase Hybrid)

How many cases do you have for your 6p?

Just wondering how many cases people have for their 6p and which ones they rock on a daily basis. How many is too much ?
Have 3 at the moment but thinking of sending the neo hybrid ex back as I also have a speck candyshell grip and a supcase unicorn hybrid slim. I am thinking of picking up a leather sleeve or nice folio or perhaps a supcase pro which I had for my G3 and it kept that phone in pristine condition.

I have 5.
Nillkin Nature in clear and smoke
Spigen Rugged Armor
Spigen Ultra Hybrid
Spigen Thin Fit
Usually rotate between my smoke Nature, Ultra Hybrid and Thin Fit.

I have 2, and use neither. Just have an intelliARMOR Pro TGSP.
I just have Google's one, which I like, but this phone feels much nicer when naked... I put the case on during outdoor sports and other "risky" activities only
Spigen Rigged Armor and Spigen Ultra Hybrid. I'm rockin the Ultra Hybrid because it's clear and I have a dbrand black carbon fiber skin on it.

True, it feels nice naked, but I'm just so paranoid about dropping it without a case on lol. I've never been worried before as they have always been contract phones, and basically paying like £15-25 a month with your minutes and data. But this is the first one I have bought outright and simply because of the way it looks and its overall design and I actually like the camera hump at the back and think its one of the more unique looking designs out there. The fact that it is a beast in size and performance also helped sway the decision

That looks real slick with the clear case. Have you experienced any drops with the Spigen cases and if so how did they hold up?
I currently rocking 4 cases which one was came free with the phone.
Too many.
Have 3, Adopted, Candyshell, and a Pouch.

I haven't dropped the 6P yet but I dropped phones with the Spigen cases in the past and they always showed no signs of damage and they protect the phone very well. They are made to withstand impacts on the corners. They call it "air cushion technology."

I'm afraid this will be me soon lol. Looking at some handmade leather pouches which look fantastic but don't come cheap. 1 or 2 more and that's it lol
They sure do look good and if they hold up and protect the phone, then I might keep the neo hybrid. I just can't see myself using it anymore though, after having bought the candyshell, but I'll see how it goes.
If you don't mind, could you let me know what kind of pouch you're using? I looked at this one and it does look good:

There's some nice ones on etsy too
At least 5 cases, 1 dbrand, extra charger and extra type c to type c cable and a type c car charger
I only have the Spigen Rugged Armor, which I believe is one of the best cases, however my cart is full of different covers, cases, Type-C cables about to be bought!!

Yeah I thought about getting the rugged armor and may still do in the future but for the time being I have sent the neo hybrix ex back. It's a really nice case and I liked the finish on it, but the side with the button started coming loose and left a bit of a gap (which seems to be a common issue from what I've read on this forum) and simply couldn't justify paying £16 for it to start doing that after 2 weeks use. The candyshell grip is the one I am rocking on a daily basis now and I have to say is an excellent case. I hear you about the accessories and covers in the shopping basket, I will be buying a leather folio and a leather pouch and a few more cables me thinks.
i just have the Supcase slim. Id recommend this case because it protected my nexus from a 5ft drop right on its back! But im looking for a good flip case!
