I'm running the latest version of stock on my Asus Z300C. My accounts only sync immediately after rebooting. This includes three Google accounts (including two managed accounts) and one Evernote account. I've already tried turning auto sync on and off and I've cleared data from Google Play Services and rebooted. Sync seems to continue working after rebooting as long as I keep using the tablet. If I shut off the screen for bed, it will be stalled in the morning.

So, we have 2 ATT GS5 phones that have been updated to Lollipop since the software was released. On May 7th, my wife's phone just stopped syncing Gmail. Funny thing is, it syncs all the other google services under accounts (Calendar, Contacts etc...) When you look at Gmail under accounts, where all the google services are, the Sync arrows never go away on the Gmail section. Also, since I cleared all app data, when you go into Gmail for the first time, it just stays at the pulling down email screen.
-I tried clearing Gmail app cache and data buttons, no good.
-Tried the uninstall updates button, rebooted, re-installed updates, no good.
-Rebooting phone and removing batter, no good.
-Tried clearing off all her pictures/videos to make more space (now have 5GB free), no good.
What else is there?

there are nothing to do gmail your gmail app. go to setting. search for accounts and sync setting there you can check or open the Background Data also you can check in Auto Sync. also you may find their your gmail accounts so you sync them manually.

So back in October, my wife and I both purchased the Note 5. We started using Google Photos, and I found a way to add both of our google accounts to each others phones so we could share our photos instantly. I had a problem adding her account to my phone, as it would sync everything (contacts, calendar, health data, etc.) immediately, but this did not happen when adding my account to her phone. I messed around with it for some time, and found an option that was not the same on both of our phones. (I think it was the backup account, but can't remember for sure). Whenever I disabled the option, whatever it is, on my phone, it allowed me to add her account without initially syncing. Keep in mind, my method for doing this on both phone was as follows every time I tried it.
1. Turn off Global Auto Sync
2. Add alternate account
3. Turn Off Mobile Data and WiFi so the phone was not online
4. Turn Auto Sync back on
5. Settings>Accounts>Google>(other account) and turn off Auto Sync on everything except Photos (Gmail in the case below)
6. Turn On Mobile Data and WiFi
Kerblam! Success.
However, I am trying to accomplish the same thing with another google account I have an alternate use for, but only want the gmail to sync. But no matter what I try, every time I add the account, it initially syncs everything. (I know this because next to every category, it says "Last Synced on MM/DD/YYY hh:mm) And obviously, all of my other account contacts, calendar data, etc. appear. I don't want to take the chance of just manually deleting everything after turning off the sync for each item in case the sync gets turned back on after some update or somethings, and it syncs the account with the phone and I lose everything. Has anyone had success doing this? I've been scouring the web for quite some time now with no luck. Neither Google or Samsung were of any help. Thanks in advance for any help : )

I've been running my S6 with this rom for a long while now and it has been perfect. However, in recent days, the push notifications on google, namely Gmail, no longer work. I've done the usual, deleted data from services framework and Gmail and i've removed and re-added the account but it still doesn't work. I've checked that it syncs 30 days etc and all the settings are right. I've changed NOTHING on my phone, it just suddenly stopped doing it. The only way I know I have emails is to open the Gmail app and refresh. I guess a wipe and re-install would do it, but I am trying to avoid that.
Any ideas on this one?
My Contacts have been refusing to sync for over a week now; the circular arrows showing the Contacts sync stay visible all the time, and the sync date/time does not update. All my other accounts are working, it's just the Google contacts. I've tried clearing various caches, removing and readding the account, downgrading Play services, reinstalling completely, nothing works. I've never had this problem before. I think it may have something to do with the Play services for Instant apps that was rolled out recently; things started getting wonky around that time. I don't know for sure. I'd rather not have to reflash over this though.
I am about ready to launch this phone off a cliff so hopefully someone has some ideas.
Google will not sync more than once, I turn auto-sync off and on and it will sync once and then never again. I noticed this as I realized I received no email notifications from gmail and I would have to go into the app and manually refresh to get new emails.
I have performed a factory reset multiple times, tried clearing caches and data of various Google apps and have had no success in having Google sync more than once after turning auto-sync on.
The phone is 100% stock with all updates installed and the latest version of all apps.
Any ideas welcome to try get sync working before I catapult thing phone into orbit.
