Case for S6, do you think it's necessary ? - Galaxy S6 Accessories

How many of you use a case/cover for your S6?
Without a case/cover it looks stunning, what do you guys think ?, thinking of removing it from my phone, any suggestions ?

If you like it that way and don't intend of trade in or sell your phone, remove the case to show off your premium class smartphone.

The S6 is very slippery without a case. Plus the camera hump doesn't let it sit evenly on a flat surface.
The best compromise to me is the Rhinoshield crash guard. Looks stunning and offers.awesome protection while being highly minimal. Also it provides good grip and let's the S6 sit flat on a table.
Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

If you want a minimal case, try the baseus air. Protection against scratches while keeping a slim profile. Also covers for the charging port and audio jack. The camera hump is protected too, so you can put it flat on its back without the lens touching the surface

Or use a skin and feel those sexy lines.

I have a Spigen bumper case, which is great as it makes the phone easy to hold and protects the edges. It's like this one, but has no back panel - it just firs around the sides. Recommended. http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/spigen-neo-hybrid-ex-samsung-galaxy-s6-bumper-case-satin-silver-p52680.htm

that case is hideous. I would rather have no case than that.
If you like the look of the S6, I recommend the this Spigen: http://www.amazon.in/Spigen®-CUSHION-Crystal-Scratch-Resistant/dp/B00QU4PN84

As much as I love how the S6 looks with no case , I think it's also quite slippery , so, for me, yes!

Well I was using case since I bought my S6, but I left it like 2 weeks ago after applying carbon fiber skin. Now I'm happy with my premium smartphone. The only thing is that side of my phone is scratched like someone was scratching edge with a key. I don't know maybe I have got a faulty device, because I'm careful with my S6.

i had an officcial samsung wallet flip case for a while untill it broke. after a couple of months without a case my tempered glass had gotten a LOT of scratches and 2 cracks. without dropping it. needless to say, yes it needs a case

Used to use a case but I don't anymore. I wouldn't use the phone bear back because it is glass and it attracts fingerprints and also its pretty slippery like the other guys mentioned so I use slick wraps for the back to give it a better grip. I suggest you to try a skin.

I will always use case. At the start I had some cheap ones. Now I only consider brands or make a good research before buying.

Spigen Case Slim Armor

Hey Guys, i just wanna share this case, because many people has talked about the case but i dont know if anyone got one.i Have one of this, and one Neo Hybrid.
Definitly this one gives more protection but makes the phone a little bigger as well.
on everyday use, i use the Neo Hybrid, but when i know im going to a place like a club or something i know i have the possibility that my S4 drops on the floor i put the SlimArmor.
Oh wow, that indent is so deep on the camera lens and flash, it seems like trouble on the long run with dust trapped inside.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 2
Lol looks like it came in the wrong box. How do you guys think this red one looks with the white S4?
nice that lip looks good. the other slim armor thread turned into a slim armor bashing thread but this looks good. did you receive this in the neo hybrid packaging? if so it's fake

Did you just push yours into your case with the TPU and the shell already mated?
My phone doesn't stay in well and there is more of the Silver bezel showing than what I see in your pictures.
Even with just the TPU case by itself the bezel is showing

no i didnt receive it in this package, i put it there so i could show you that even the original ones fits on that package as well, because so many people get theres on that kind of package.so it makes no diference fake or original, mine broght the serial number to confirm its autentic, and a label inside the case itself to proof that was the real thing  but how can you tell if its fake or not without the numbers?i like to know those kind of things.

yes i saw in a review on youtube its better to put the phone in to the case when they already mated its easy and i can confirm that, the other way around i take more time to put it through.
im going to put some more pictures today just you to see more detail of the cover. but i guess was you didnt put the phone on the cover that is already mated that can be youre problem.mine i think is doing the job is suposed to do.very protective and still not so big,but a little bigger than the neo hybrid that is the case im loving right now.

I got this case on black last night for my black S4. Coming from Otterbox this case will not protect against decent drops as its far too thin. Its nice for low maybe 3 foot drops. My only grip is that the gloss hard Cover shows finger prints heavily. Extremely heavily. And, it's hard to wipe off even with a cloth or shirt, etc. Nice designed case though. More for looks than protection.

i think it can protect fare enough because its made of tpu material and on top of that plastic. i had on my S3 only a skin case that doesnt protect at all,it only spare me at the riscs on the camera when i put it on top of a table.so for me this one protects really well because im not planed to get my s4 fall of my hand at a great distance.its only an extra protection if im unlucky at some point. because as i told before i only use this case when i go to a club at night or to a place that is full of people. on every day use i use the Neo Hybrid that i prefered. i really like more neo Hybrid and that one protects even less but my only concern is when i put on top of a table or something to not make scratches on the back camera lens
sorry but this slim armor is fake
i ordered mine directly from spigen SPG in california und it looks different.
but they send me the number, and i bought from spigen uk on amazon either way protects so its better then my slim cover that i used on S3 that cost me only 3£ so if its fake its fake, thanks anyway for let me know.

Yea it looks almost black in the picture, but it's Navy Blue.
I have the slate and I really like how they shared the original look of the phone with the chamfered edges and making them glossy. As far as scratches go, I already had some before I started using the case just from being in my pocket. Besides that, I can't see those scratches when its in the case. And for anyone to think that this shiny polished edge will never get a scratch on it is absurd. A case is probably the worst thing for it if you ever get some dirt or dust in there.

Right. People are going crazy on spigen and complaining but it's samsung the one that made the soft metal bezel. I have the Capsule case and I love it and yeah I have a few tiny scratches but if you think another case won't do the same thing you are sadly mistaken. I hit my bezel with some polish wax and now you can barely see the scratches. Slapped my case back on and I'm good to go. Not worried about resale value anyway of the device since they have none as it is. I love the case.

Solutions to slippery Mi4C

Not sure if others concur, but I find the phone very slippery due to the smooth plastic back cover (referring to white version here, though not sure if colour makes a difference).
Other than installing a 'bumper' style cover that makes the phone much larger (and noticeably heavier), what solutions do you suggest?
Can the back cover be replaced with a Nexus 5 style back cover (if available)? Or are there thin stickers that can instill more grip (e.g. sandpaper finish)?
I got the darker version and yeah, the back is kinda slippery. I also looked for backstickers, like what slickwraps and dbrand are offering, but I didn't find anything.
Today I ordered the official xiaomi plastic cases and I'm curious how thick it will make the Mi4C. Maybe still thin enough that I'll keep it...
I have to admit, I am happy I ordered a case with the phone, in my situation, the Nillkin Frosted Shield. Big improvement, but if dbrand had something, I would be happy!

I did he same as TheNacho. I bought a Nillkin Frosted Shield and I really like it. In my opinion the case is very thin and gives it a good grip, it also feels like a good quality case with perfect fit.
It do also give a small small edge around the screen, which covers the screen a little bit if you put the phone down with the screen downwards (or if you drop it)

I've already forgotten the hardcover Yeah, I had both. The hardcover began pretty fast to crack at the corners (because of the pressure?).
The TPU was a bit more stable, but it began to crack near the headphone jack after a while.
@rob rich got it today (came in 3 days) and its bulkier than the image on ebay. The back is not completely transparent like the rest of the case but a foggish white. But I can grip it easily and thats good for me.
Ok, I'm searching for something really really slim
I'm not afraid of let it fall (never happens to me) but I'm afraid of scratches on the back and on camera lens without case...
I'm sure there are some cool cases in China, so i would be happy if someone could point me in the right direction.

Nexus 6p Otterbox like case?

I can't seem to find a sturdy case (like the Otterbox) for the 6p. I like the Spigen (Rugged Armor) and the SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle case but they just don't offer the protection I'm looking for. I saw a possible alternative by i-Blason and a few others but there seems to be an issue with the case where it reboots the phone or it won't let you take screenshots. I drop my phone way too often and the 6p is big and slippery to begin with. So do any of you guys have any good sturdy alternatives or know of Otterbox will ever make a case for the Nexus 6p? Thanks!

I have the I-blason case for my 6P just like I have for my Note 3. While I can take screen shots but sometimes I have to make 2 attempts. My problem with the i-Blason is that my hinge connecting the top piece (the one that covers the screen broke off so not there is no solid connection between the top piece and the piece at covers the back of the phone. I am still using the top piece to protect the face when it is in my pocket or in a bag containing other things like keys.

Hey thanks for the reply! How sturdy is the case overall and how long did it last before the hinge broke? Was it normal wear and tear? Thanks.
While not available until next month, the Rhino Crash Guard & Shield will provide better protection than virtually anything else out there.
My advice would be to preorder it now, and get something cheap in the meantime. That's what I did.

You're very welcome! It is very sturdy thanks to the hard plastic spine that supports the rubber piece that into which you place the phone. I have the i-Blason case for my Note 3 (2 years no issue) but with that version, the piece that covers the screen connects to the other piece (containing the phone) by sliding over rather than by the latch that 6P version uses. It snapped about a week . The 2 pieces still fit together fairly snuggly (but I would trust dropping it and expecting the two pieces to stay together....so not clipping it to my belt). Eventually, I always evolve to using the only the bottom piece which protects the phone (as long as the phone doesn't fall on an uneven surface) but that might take longer with the 6P than with my Note 3.

There will be a bumper, screen protector, and something new for the back. But the bumper should be sufficient to protect the face and back when dropped on flat surfaces. But not if the back or screen lands on a rock or something.
Do a search on YouTube and you'll find some pretty incredible videos.

Here is the link for the one I got http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015X6FAE6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00 I have attached a photo where you can see the little piece that broke off that served as a point of attachment between the top and the bottom pieces (kind of like a clip you pull and a little piece disengages from the notch when you wanted to pull out the phone) . It does have a bumper which will allow the for protecting the screen from falls onto flat surfaces like floors or sidewalks (as long as there is no pebble LOL). When I contacted the company, they apologized but just refunded $5 out of $14.95. I also like the protection against possible bending afforded by the spine.

Thank you so much!! It's good to know it has the bumper. I'm surprised that they didn't give a full refund but hey its better than nothing and its good to know that they have a customer support that responds. I have a i-Blason case on my Galaxy Tab that has done the job so far.

They are sending one to me to review and I should have it sometime this week. I'll also let you guys know if it fits in any of the holsters that I have right now. I'm more interested in if the carabiner can be taken off or not.
OutterBox is one of my favorite site. You can't find quality like it.
Hey guys! Thank you all for your responses. Poetic Revolution is sending me units to test out and review on the forum. I will post a detailed review for all of you once the case arrives and I have used it enough for a honest and thorough review.

Finally decided to take off the case

Hey there, I have finally decided to take off the case from my S6 gold platinum model, got a nice tempered glass screen guard for back side of the device, now it looks damn good, I know it's slippery but I think I can handle it, I guess it's not a wise move but phone looks awesome, what do you guys think, pls share your ideas and opinions.
Does it look different with the tempered glass? I use mine without protector and case and it got scratches on the back. Front got nothing though. Middle frame uhm... some little dents.
You are smart to have gotten a tempered glass for the back
Anyways, be careful!

Yeah thanks, I will be careful, no it doesn't look different, tempered glass seems to be nice so I couldn't find any difference, better you get a tempered glass and protect the phone
It's such a hard choice to make, even I want to take off the case, it feels so good!
I left my case on for now especially since it's my first all glass phone I don't really want to damage it
I dont like extra thickness and weight it adds when you put tempered glass protectors on front and back..
I've dropped the phone a bunch of times without a bcase, granted not onto asphalt. While aluminum is very pretty it dents quite easily, but the screen has held up well.
Can you share the link for the glass back you ordered?
I just wiped the screen on my s6. Feels good. Do u think I can use water or do I need a special liquid from Samsung.?

But I doubt that they deliver it outside India (XDA also doesn't allow me to share the link as per my knowledge), quality was really good though, I got front and back tempered glass for only $5 (here in India ₹299)

Don't use water to clean the display, instead you can use soft cloth to wipe the screen.

Wow.. I'm so proud of you. That's the first big step into independence. It'd be even better if you leave it naked. Come on, its not your crown jewels, it's just a god damn phone.

I have ordered a dbrand skin for my S6. Was tired of using a case on this beautiful device.
I was being sarcastic man. Do u really need a post to let people know u removed the case of your phone?
I'm using a ~4.50 $ clear case that I bought on eBay. It's all silicone, super thin and looks really good because I still see all my phone. I get to enjoy the S6's design and yet have an excellent grip. No more worries of it slipping or worries when putting it down on a desk.
Yes, Ofcourse its good decision to take off the case. And today smartphone cases is one type of trendsetter of the tech industry. It is also important to protect your precious devices by using glass screen protector and cases.
Decided to put my case back again! After some weeks naked and one big drop, I've got a big dent on the speakers and 2 corners. The aluminum is the worst part of the phone since it's polished. If it had some kind of pattern to hide the dents, that'd be cool, but it's all plain polished! A bumper case would be ideal..
