[Completed] Flashing TWRP through fastboot on a bootloader locked phone. - XDA Assist

I know this might have been asked so many times but my question is slightly different.
I am using a Moto X xt1060 with read only root and a locked bootloader (Build details are in the screenshot). Since my root access is write-protected, I am unable to install any recovery or to do any other changes to the system when booted in ROM.
I wanted to flash a twrp rom in fastboot mode but I am constantly getting a "variable not supported" max download size of 85097897bytes error cannot load twrp.img.
While researching for this on internet I found this reply on many threads including some thread here too (Unfortunately I couldn't remember which thread it was!) The solution proposed was :
"You should be able to catch the phone during its initial reboot process and get it into recovery before the main OS launches. Then you should be able to flash super user while there. "
My question is how can I so quickly bypass main OS bootup right after flashing the recovery when I don't even know if it was flashed properly?

You can not flash a custom recovery from stock android recovery. Which is what the red x recovery is
Is your tablets boot loader unlocked yet?... No matter. Just download thisAIO_scripts_R.A.H._TWRPv2.6.3.zip - 12.00 MB
It's my tool to do everything u need. Unlock boot loader, flash twrp recovery, and then twrp will root it also when you boot into recovery. Just Dow load the zip file. Plug your xoom into your pc and click the runme.bat and chose what you want to do.

Known issue on twrp there is no password just leave blank.
And you will need to ask your Rom related question in the Rom thread because I don't use that Rom and I don't know if it's bigPart Rom or not

Just remember to look at what ever Rom you choose. If it says requires bigpart. Look at the thread in the development section for the steps to make it compatible for bigpart. It's not hard just have to follow a few steps.

[Completed] Need help with rooting Ascend Y300!!!

Hello guys how are you? i found this thread here which explains how can i root my phone without unlocking bootloader. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41714109). I just wanted to ask one thing that how can i install a software so that i can backup official rom incase anything goes wrong and i have to re-flash that rom and if anyone can tell me the procedure to do it. And if you guys could, can anyone one of you tell me how can i unroot it if i need to sent it for warranty. Thanks that is all i wanted to ask
Hi!
You can ask questions in the thread you linked. For any help, that's where to ask.
I'll tell you though, after looking at that, you can't install a custom recovery.... So backing up your whole system won't be possible. Not without a custom recovery to do it.
If you're very concerned.... Don't do it.
Good luck!

So i did root this phone although not by the one mentioned in the thread (i installed the drivers but the unlock root couldn't detect my device). I followed another method in which i have to unlock bootloader and in that i could only reach to the point of unlocking boot loader and flashing twrp recovery but twrp recovery screen wasn't working so i was stuck with unlocked bootloader and browsed the net for several hours until i found the
ProHunter method of Modaco forum in which he provided a complete software to unlock, install recovery, and then install SuperSU. But now i am concerned about one thing. Can anybody of guys tell me how can i completely backup my system so that i can restore it if something bad happens? And can any of you guys be kind enough and tell me how can i backup my stock rom i would be in forever debt of you. Thanks for the reply.

You need a custom recovery installed, like twrp or cwm, then you do a nandroid backup in the recovery.

Moto G infinite boot due to wrong kernel

Hello, I'm here because I got a motorola moto g from ebay, the phone is ok but the last owner committed the mistake of update the firmware to 4.4.4 and flash the kernel of 4.4.3 which caused the phone to a infinite loop, the only thing the phone do is show the google logo and the icon of an unlocked padlock (I will attack a picture) due that he said that he flashed the rom and the kernel, I assumed that the phone have recovry or at least is rooted. So, what I have to do to be able to install the correct kernel? I don't want to do anything stupid to break the phone more than it is right now, so please help me to fix this.
in resume: phone with wrong kernel causes infinite loop
pd: if need some information, just ask for it and I will be happy to answer to you, I'll be reloading the page every minute to see your comments
pd2: the image of the phone: http://uploads.im/?v=b9tmB.jpg
I think you dont get replies because you're not very clear. Can you get into fastboot or recovery or not? If you can get to fastboot, flash your stock firmware. If you can get to your custom recovery, flash a custom rom like Cyanogenmod 11. If you can't get neither, search the Moto G forum on how to unbrick the phone...
well, that's true
to answer that: yes I can get to fastboot and recovery and everything. So if I have to just flash the stock firmware, can you give me a link to download it?

Is because with the update you loose bootloader commands ( fastboot)
So, you need to root, after root install Rashr from Google play, with Rashr you can flash twrp, with twrp you can flash aboot.img from 5.0.2 version with a flash zip then you recover bootloader commands like this.

What he's saying is that without fastboot the only way you can flash a ROM is through TWRP. You need to root and then install TWRP, and then install the ROM. Also, if you're doing any kind of reflashing; to do so without a custom recovery is risky at best.

Do you get this?
You must find another way to root, maybe kingroot!

Look at this thread to get TWRP and root. Works perfectly; I went through this procedure several times on 6045I. Just read carefully to understand the steps; there are couple of other threads that are linked from this one.

Yes, the TWRP steps are described for Idol 4, but the process works perfectly fine for 6045. That thread is a compilation of steps from few other threads that are linked from there; some may not be specifically for our model, but they work. Just read carefully and make sure you understand. It's quite normal on XDA, when you find some info from another device's forum, and adapt it to your device. Like I said, I did this myself on 6045I at least 3-4 times, while fooling around with the phone after I got it.

Hi, why are not I going? I tried the sahara and firehose
I do everything well does not come out, no error, but at the time of starting the recovery leaves the factory.
I tried that twrp and also several more, but being all ok, I do not know why it's not going

I have tried the Sahara again in every possible way.
And if with the sahara I try to put a rom with android 5?
And what about the flashtool?

You can't use Sahara & Firehose for flashing the ROM. It will only let you to flash the recovery (TWRP).
You have to understand that you need to go through several steps here...
1. Your goal is to downgrade to 5.x. You can't flash a 5.x official stock ROM, because the only way to flash stock is to use Mobile Upgrade Q, and you already got an update to 6.0 for your phone. Your only choice is to find a 5.x ROM that can be flashed from TWRP.
2. So, you need to install TWRP. I recommended using Sahara & Firehose, because this method works for me every time with no problems. I pointed you to the thread with ALL the information you need. If it doesn't work for you, I don't know why. Maybe you don't have the proper drivers installed? You need the drivers before you try doing anything with your phone from your PC. Maybe you have a bad USB cable or port? Maybe something else? I have no idea... I simply told you what works for me 100%.
3. There may be another way, if you somehow root you phone first, then flash TWRP using Rashr, for example. But I don't know how to root it. I only rooted it by flashing SuperSU, after I already had TWRP installed, so I can't help you with this...
Most importantly, you need to understand what you are doing, why you need to do specific steps, and the purpose of all the tools you use...

[GUIDE]Unlock Realme 3 Pro Bootloader , Twrp and Root

Relocking device with modified partitions can possibly brick your device, please do not post guides without trying it on your device first.

@sayan8, please be careful as to what you are posting in your help thread / guide...
1. You have almost copied the unlock /relock steps from the realme website...https://c.realme.com/in/post-details/1134295513231785984 without giving credit to the website link.
2. Mistake as pointed out above by @acervenky.
3. You have linked the twrp to the realme3pro twrp thread where NOBODY has been able to boot up his phone / boot into twrp after flashing the twrp posted there.. Under these circumstances, why would you advise anyone else (probably a noob) ti brick his phone by doing what you posted?
A better method would be to add the caveats (warnings) for flashing twrp (nobody has successfully done it, yet) or the relock method.
Regards.

Hey ,
1. I have given proper credits to everyone. See at the bottom.
2. I know that and should have mentioned the warning there.
3. I know that , I thought anyone who's familiar with xda would've known that custom partition can brick your device while relocking. Yeah you are right , should have tried this on a device first before posting the guide .
I'm removing this guide and request the mods to delete this thread.
No need for such an extreme step. Keep it as work in progress...after all you are the OP of the thread....wait a while twrp, root, all will fall in place...
