Calendar problems: EMUI and Google - Honor 6, 6 Plus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

H60-02, EMUI 3.1 6.1.1
Dear all, I have some problems with the calendars, and it goes as follows:
EMUI Calendar is diplaying the calendar week "wrong". I mean there are several conventions for calendar week numbering but the most used is the one in which the first calendar week is the week with the first Thursday. Second one would be to start the count at the first full week. Well our EMUI calendar likes to number it based on the least used variant: the week where the first day of the year is. And guess what?
a) This year 01.01 was on Friday, so EMUI calendar marks this week as number one, and not the one that starts on 4th of January
b) there is no option for how the calendar week to be numbered
What I would like is to know if there is any settings that I am missing? Is there anywhere where I can set how the CW (calendar weeks) are numbered? Is there anyway to submit a bug to Huawei?
as I am an inventive person I though on a workaround. Best that I've found is to install Google Calendar, but well I hate to have redundant/duplicate apps on my phone...
I will appreciate all the answers.
Thanks,
V|B

Holiday Calendar

I'm subscribed to the U.S. Holidays calendar on Google Calendar and recently noticed (Valentine's Day) that my calendar widget is off about holidays. For example on Feb 12, it said "Tomorrow: Valentines Day" on the widget, even tho Valentine day is on the 14th. Today (Feb 20) its saying Washington's Bday is tomorrow even though it is on 22nd. When I open up the actual calendar app, it is incorrect on that too. However, when I goto Google Calendar on my computer all the dates are correct. I'm not sure what is going on.
Also it seems to be only affecting this particular calendar (US Holidays), my personal calendars seem to be fine.
Is anyone experiencing this or is this a known issue. I couldn't find anything after searching.
I am running Fresh 1.1 with the Gumbo kernel.
Thank you.
I have exactly your same setup and don't have this issue.
I get the same error. it show all the stuff a day early

Calendar Help....

Ok, I just switched from HCT AT&T Tilt II to SGS2 Skyrocket. I went and got Pocket Informant for Android thinking that it would be the same app as with the WM6.5 -- WRONG! I am VERY dependent on having my calendar color-coded for events so I can make plans at a glance. This was great with the WinMo version (and my wife's iPhone, too) but will only show bare month calendar view on Android. Anyone know why? Can anyone suggest a better calendar app?
Below is what I'm looking for from my Tilt II.
(I know this may have been covered somewhere, and I'm still going through threads. But I'm on page 13 of 75+....)
You should make an quick search on Google Play>
Here is the one that I use (Business Calendar Free) is kinda similar to your snapshot:

I looked at a kazillion, and was hoping for someone like you, who may have been using one and could recommend. I will try it. Thanks!
...I'm not used to doing the multiple calendars thing, but I guess I'll have to learn.
quote 'Alex Kac - CEO/Founder'
Showing events in Month View grid can be done by enabling Minitext in PI Settings -> Events -> Month View.
Adding event to a day in Month View can be done by using context menu on Month Grid (long tap on a day)
No day coloring though.
I like Jorte ...I know it does multiple calendars & supports Google calendar.

Google Now issues....

So I installed the Google Now update a couple days ago when Android 4.2 was announced. It's suppose to be able to pick tracking numbers, flights, etc., out of your Gmail.
My question is, does it only do this for emails received after you install the update?
I ask because I had 2 packages being delivered yesterday (Thursday the 1st) and Google Now had a couple days to index my inbox but it never showed anything about tracking information and I do have emails containing the tracking information, one from UPS and one from USPS. I also have a flight in two weeks to Denver. I received the confirmation email about two weeks ago and Google Now hasn't showed that at all either.
Any suggestions?
And yes, I have all the options turned ON for those particular settings in G-Now.

I would think it would be for emails after you install. Otherwise you would have a lot of old non relevant items show up.
Did you try forwarding the email to yourself? Maybe that would pick it up.

I see what you're saying, but since it's suppose to be able to pick out dates and stuff (I think anyway), it would know what fights you have coming up and which ones are in the past.....?
Yes, I sent the email to my work address, then back to myself. Still nothing.

[Q] Exchange - calendar sync only last 2 weeks

I have problems with syncing my calendar over an ExchangeAccount (Zarafa over Z-Push). On stock ROMs only 2 weeks in the past are shown in the calendar. But only on phones with Google-Stock-Android. I have tested the following devices:
- Nexus 5, Stock 4.4 - only last 2 weeks
- another Nexus 5, Stock 4.4 - only last 2 weeks (also another exchange account)
- Nexus 4, Stock 4.3 - only last 2 weeks
- HTC OneS, CM10.2 Nightly 4.3.1 - ALL events are synced
- Nexus 4, CM10.2 Nightly 4.3.1 - ALL events are synced
- SGS4, Stock 4.3 (XXUEMJ5) - ALL events are synced
So that not seems to be an issue with my exchange server, because CM10.2, and Samsung StockROM are syncing all events in the past and future. I've searched this forum and others - some posts describes this problem, but I can't find the solution.
Under Settings/Account/Exchange I also can see the sync symbol in white doesn't disappear for the calendar - it's not circling (in green) but stands still as it's waiting for something. On CM10.2 the symbol disappears after syncing.
Who can help? Thx
This sync limitation has caused me so much grief over the last couple of years its ubsurd.
For as long as I can recall the 2 week past items sync has been a limitation using and exchange account with the AOSP calendar.
But the limitation used to be with the first sync (IE: After flashing a new ROM and you have to re-setup your exchange account)
But it would retain all past items from there forward.
Now it has been changed so the items mature after 2 weeks and "poof" bye bye.
But I also used to have frequent issues with the AOSP calendar dropping synch to the exchange server. Specifically new items added on my phone would cease to synch all of a sudden.
And that issue is the one difference I have noticed with the imposed 2 week back item limit. Is I haven't had a single synch issue from Phone - MX since.
You could try poking around m.Google. com/sync or whatever that old site is. (I recall reading somewhere that you need to kill java to access it, and change the handle from =false - =true.
That's the first place that I know of where the whole Google + Exchange & 2 week back item sync limits emerged.
I haven't dug around it yet myself, but might be worth a look if your able to access it.
The only work around I know of is to backup your calendar then restore it ignoring all warnings. As it will restore it to your "Google Calendar" not your exchange account. And the 2 week limit doesn't apply to gmail accounts.(I use My Backup Pro for this, but TB should do the same)
But its a fair bit of hassle and you then have gmail showing your restored past items, and your exchange account with the rest :is
If there is a true solution to this though I'd buy beers to learn it!
Cheers,
Chris

Marshmallow Do Not Disturb Calendar Automatic Rules Not Working

When I set an event-based automatic rule, it doesn't seem to work. This worked fine for me on the final developer preview build (and I think at least one build before that), but it hasn't worked since I flashed the final build. I did a full format and image flash to come to MRA58K.
The rule I have set up is for an exchange calendar, but I have tested other calendars. Another interesting behavior--which may be correct, but it doesn't seem right--is that the only Google calendars appearing are my primary calendars (I have two Google accounts synced). When I go to choose the calendar, all of my exchange calendars appear, but only the primary calendars for my two Google accounts appear.
Is anyone else experiencing this behavior?
I get the same problem on a Nexus 5X on stock (MDB08I). Although I have 4 calendars linked to my device, I am only offered one of these or all, and it did not seem to work when set to All Calendars.
No doubt there will be any update to fix it soon.
Thanks for posting. I'm glad to know it's not just me. Interesting it broke since the last preview build.
My searching for this problem just found this thread. I too am unable to get this feature to work, which is annoying!
It strikes me as odd that there aren't more people reporting this issue. If it's a bug, I would expect more reports. I only saw one other reddit discussion, but it appears to have been deleted.
I'm new to Marshmallow and I'm also struggling to get the Event rules to work, so I thought I would check in with one of the very few discussions on the subject. I'm on a Nexus 5 with stock 6.0 which was factory reset this weekend.
The weekend and weeknight rules work exactly as I expect. However the event rules ( even though I have chosen the correct calendar ) never seem to trigger.
I am wondering if it is something about the "Where Reply Is" value. I have chosen "Yes, Maybe or Not replied" but still nothing.
Am I just mistunderstanding the feature completely ? These are just normal appointments I have added into my calendar. Should I be doing something different when I create them to get them to be "seen" by the Event rule ?
Thanks,
Nige
i have the exact same issue - only shows one of my google calendars in the options, and doesn't seem to work. I don't "reply" to my calendar events, so I wonder if this is preventing it from firing.
I guess nobody has been testing this feature?
I can confirm the same behavior on a Nexus 6P, so it doesn't seem to be device specific or an update error.
I'm glad this isn't just me. I spent quite a long time separating my personal calendar from my work one so that I could have two calendars to use the event feature for meetings.
No dice
Edit: This is on a stock N5X
Same here on MXPE
I just updated my MXPE from 5.1.1 to 6.0 and I too cannot get automatic rules for events to work. I really liked that feature of the Moto tool suite and figured the move to DnD would be easy. I can see the exchange calendar that I want to watch but regardless of whether I have "yes", "yes or tentative" or yes, tentative or no" selected DnD never triggers on events in that calendar. Really hoping for a fix.
Anyone have 6.0.1 able to test if this is fixed?
Not fixed.
I have 3 accounts, so it presents me with 3 primary calendars to choose from. DND works for one of them , but not for the other two. Don't know if it's related, but the account that works is the one I entered first on initial setup, and it's the account I use for Play store.

Interesting that it's working for some but not others.
After updating to 6.0.1, my calendar list contains certain calendars that were not listed before, but my automatic rule still doesn't work. I tried deleting and recreating and saw no improvement. I did not test each individual calendar though, and the calendar I am using is an exchange calendar, so it certainly is not the first calendar to have been synced.

Moto Assist used to apply rules for my exchange account. However, with marshmallows automatic rules for events the rule is not applied. I have tried using all options for the response, deleted and created the rule from scratched all combinations. I really miss this feature and can;t believe there are not more reports of this.
DnD worked for me on my Nexus 6 running stock 6.0.1 with the February 1, 2016 security update using an exchange calendar. Switched to a Nexus 5X with stock and March 1, 2016 security. Now, DnD doesn't work with that same calendar. Such a great feature! I hope they fix this soon.
I amnrunning Marshmallow on a Nexus 6p, current version. the problem is still not fixed: i am able to choose only the first calendar or all calendars for an event trigger for automatic rules.

I recently acquired a Nexus 5x running 7.0 Nougat and I am having this same problem. I have several calendars set up for the same Google account. However, I only get options for My Calendar (which I don't use) and Any Calendar. In choosing Any Calendar, I am still getting interrupted during my meetings, which tells me my other calendars are not being included. This makes DND completely useless for me. I can't believe in all this time Google hasn't fixed this or no one has figured out why this problem is happening.... Anyone have any updates?

Update to 7.1.1
All bugs appear to be fixed with it.
I just got the upgrade to 7.1.1, but still not working...
Same here on Droid Maxx
One of my favorite features about the Motorola with Android was the Moto app, having it be able to be silenced or priority, based on any of my Google calendar events was key! I really want that back
