Just spotted this article from AndroidAuthority about the release.
Posting of links not allowed (especially for noobs and potential spammers), but the article is legit.
Registration was required on Imagination site. They have the Vulkan Image available for download.
Didnt see any other postings related so I posted here.
This is the article OP is talking about

I apologize for my misunderstanding. I understand that this is another software for hardware to run on. It improves graphics, but what does this actually do for the Nexus Player?
To my understanding Vulkun is just a 3D framework, like DirectX and OpenGL and Apples Metal, but the key idea is that its cross platform, it should work on windows,OSX,Android,Web,Consoles all the same.
Its really only important to game developers

I was recently thinking new web browsers like Google Chrome 6.0,Opera 10.60 and Safari 5 are supporting HTML5 and other new web standards and my question is XDA-Developers using those New Standards?.If NOT i think they should in order for a better and much faster experience on the site also for new additions to the site
WHAT DO YOU THINK???????
(feel free to comment on this post and say whatever you want about it concerning the topic)
BY THE WAY I LIKE THE NEW REDESIGN,GOOD JOB DEVELOPERS
(Vbulletin 4 has been RELEASED)
The forum is powered by vBulletin Version 3.8.5. I do not think XDA developers can do much.
As previous poster said they aren't actually coding the site. They are just running a forum application on their server. They can customize it, add in mods, and such. Now when Vbulletin changes then sure, but thats a long long long way away.
i think so to so v bulletin should change the codings on the forums
Ok I'll answer this one too. HTML5 is in no way ready for release. Its way too buggy and not able to keep up with flash. Ok I said it. Thats why all these companies are making iphone flash players rather then switching to HTML5.
What you mean HTML5 is no ready for release? HTML5 is a specification.
Yes but it is not ready for mass scale usage. Its too buggy right now and leaves to big of a void in between flash and HTML. ,, also I thought it was a language? hypertext markup language , but I guess its the same thing potatoe, pototoe.
How can a spec be buggy?
first of all max power Html5 is ready and its already being used by 100´s of sites including Youtube also Html5 is a new different type of coding It brings many new features xda could really use and Vbulletin should start a new version of the forum software with the new web standards
Features (API)of HTML 5:
The canvas element for immediate mode 2D drawing. See Canvas 2D API
Specification 1.0 specification [13]
Timed media playback
Offline storage database (offline web applications). See Web Storage [14]
Document editing
Drag-and-drop
Cross-document messaging[15]
Browser history management
MIME type and protocol handler registration.
Microdata
Geolocation
Local SQL Database
HTML 5 VIDEO
Ok lets see if I can answer some of these.
1st, hundreds of sites across the internet is not a bunch or even 00.000000000000000000001% of the web.
2nd HTML5 of youtube is a joke, look at the quality. Theres a reason you goto youtube and it takes you to the flash version.
3. Hulu just came out and said there is no possible way they could provide their service on HTML5, the technology just doesn't exist yet.
So while I know you guys are chomping at the bit for HTML5 to take over the world and slay the evil adobe monster, it ain't gonna happen. Because as HTML5 matures so does Flash.
Great idea, we should do a flash forum!
:S
no offense,Dont be so dumb in no way will HTML 5 overtake flash dont worry about that and the reason youtube takes you to the flash player videos is because not all the videos are uploaded with HTML 5 format.Adobe´s Flash is good but it wont be used as much by HTML 5 because Html 5 does not require as much space as flash and it does more than flash will ever do
dont forget WebM
job portal

Is this just another Siri clone or is it closer to "AI" (define as you will). Is anyone here involved in this?

I searched "silvia" and "silvia for android" before posting this thread. If this question or topic has been posted before, or if this is in the wrong place, I apologize.

Hi Michael,
Prior to our launch of our SILVIA for Android Kickstarter project this past Friday (May 25th), we have been fairly quiet about SILVIA for Android.
So, you may not find much 3rd party information on SILVIA for Android, at least for a while.
However, we will be happy to answer your questions as best we can.
First off, we think that Siri is a fine product.
Of course, we feel we have something different and unique to offer with our technology, otherwise we would not be doing what we're doing.
We think that our context sensitive conversational approach to the user experience is very compelling for many reasons, and we also think it is an important difference that our technology runs natively on mobile devices.
For developers, we are offering an SDK with a rich API, a graphical content development system, and a runtime engine that will allow developers to create new conversational applications for Android that run right on the device. For smaller developers, this is very important because there is no requirement for additional (and expensive) server infrastructure to host the AI.
We think that another important feature is the compactness and efficiency of our runtime. The average SILVIA for Android end-user application clocks in at about 7 or 8 megabytes on the device, and is efficient enough to run in the background without disrupting the performance of most other applications.
We will continue to release more details for developers over the next few weeks as our Kickstarter campaign progresses.
I hope this information helps.
Right on, looks pretty interesting, hope to see it available soon!

We are definitely covering SILVIA and this project

Developer Update!
Just a quick update, we have some more information for Android developers on our Kickstarter project page.
Unfortunately, due to the low post count, we can't post links yet. But a quick look at the first post in this thread should get you there.
In particular, we think there is some great opportunity for game developers, as our SILVIA Core has already been deployed as a conversational intelligence system in 3D training systems for the US Army. But even casual game and apps developers can quickly integrate SILVIA for Android into their projects.
The SILVIA for Android library can be used directly in just about any native Java or Mono for Android project, but as a bonus for you Unity 3D developers, we will be including a Unity 3D compatible version of our SILVIA for Android runtime library as part of the SDK package.
All the best,
The SILVIA for Android Team

CaesarIA is an open source remake Caesar III game released by Impressions Games in 1998, it aims to expand the possibilities of the classical city-building simulators and to add new features showing the city life. Now the game work with some OS: Windows, Linux, Mac, Haiku and Android.
I invite you to participate in my project, the game source code you can find on the main page as well as you can download ready builds for different OS. On the following page I estimated the prospective expenses of different people based on a reasonable hourly rate. Also I know that it’s impossible to put some strict deadlines in such creative projects because requirements can be changed, the terms can be shifted or broken as a result the final quality will be worse than you planned before. I’m not a high-qualified game developer, this is bad. But there is good news that I have many successful projects in my portfolio. There are no much differences between developing software or games. For more than 5 years I have been developing the system of divers detect with strict deadlines, with changing requirements, using computer graphics and many other conditionals.
I believe I will success.
But i'm newby, i cann't post links for indiegogo campaign and images

Hi all!
I am excited to share a project I have been personally working on for a few years now. I call it Pine, and it is a new cross platform framework for developing apps for Android, iOS, Windows and Mac. It is a modification and extension of the LibGDX game framework, so apps are written in Java, hardware rendered, and extremely fast and smooth. Pine will be released open-source under the Apache 2.0 licence, and it only needs a few more months work before it can be released.
I would be extremely grateful if people could please support this project, more details about how it works and some of the things it can do, including demo apps for Android and Windows, are available on my kickstarter campaign.
I can't post URL's due to being a new user, but if you google "Pine Cross Platform Framework" you will find it.
I have tried posting this around on a few forums but people report it as a scam. Please, if you feel like it may be a scam, just check out the demos. My Android app at least is only available on the official Play Store. Also, there are certain things in the demos that prove the apps are built using this new framework. For example my 'Perspective Group', which allows rendering all 2D elements in 3D. This can be seen on the 'Videos' page - with a video playing while it spins in 3D, and the 'Fun Layout Example' page - which demonstrates an interactive 3D carousel. These things can't be done natively, and I don't think any other cross platform frameworks can do it either.
Thanks guys, and I hope you like it!
All the best,
Graham
Hi guys,
I am doing research for my master's thesis on frontend frameworks and component libraries and how they affect the software development process. I am mainly focusing on the relationship of the project manager (planning) - designer - developer.
I would like to get a holistic view of the topic, so I am turning towards you as well
If you could spend half a coffee break on this one-pager, you would contribute a lot to launching the topic in scientific circles, because there’s not much of a dissertation on this yet, as the topic itself is still in its infancy!

Good blogpost!
I understand, still, that is what I am researching --> not the general level, but a more operative one. HOW are they making it easier?
On the illustrations, the design comes before development. However, I have a feeling that with components, it is possible for the design to be parallel with the development.
Also, HOW does a framework or component makes it faster? What are the compromises, that lengthen the preparation up front, but definitely ease up the process later? Like the easier maintainability of a software, etc.
Do you get it? I am searching for experience in that field.
