How to wipe with a broken screen - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

My friend's dog chewed up her phone and broke the screen. Phone powers on but screen is dead. It's completely stock, never rooted. I haven't had a Samsung since my S4 so I was curious if there is a way to wipe it's data from my computer. Not sure if she ever installed Android Device manager...or I would go that route....and knowing her that would be a big no.

If you send it to Samsung to repair the first thing they do is wipe the phone clean of all data regardless of what needs repairing. I don't know the policies of independent repair shops but I wouldn't take a chance if you have sensitive data.

ADB commands, maybe if usb debug was turned on?

HTC Sensation 4G, Virgin Mobile bricked device

So the issue with the device is well. It doesn't turn on, it doesn't respond to anything at all. Plugging in the USB offers no reaction from the computer and it's not being seen. To me it looks completely and utterly bricked but I refuse to accept defeat just yet. I downloaded QPST but I have no idea in how to properly use it, if this phone can be recovered it would be a life saver! Does anyone know a solution?
Additionally. This was done due to someone flashing the LiteROM for Samsung devices. It completely formatted the system, leaving nothing before installing the Samsung data.

Unless you have a JTAG debugger handy you've pretty much had it pal, if it won't turn on and won't vibrate then it sounds dead

broken screen = factory reset

ok i shattered the screen and it wont energize. the phone still powers on and off. it is rooted. i have insurance. dont't think i'm too concerned about returning to stock, although i would though like to wiipe the intenal sd card prior to returning to asurion (verizon's insurance provider). any thoughts on how i can accomplish this?
thanks
mark
my advice if the phone is inoperable try booting in to recovery and doing a wipe from there if you can plug it in to your PC then mput it in download mode and use ODIN
to clarify...
the phone powers on and off but the screen is [email protected] up. when i power on the phone, i see nothing but a black screen and lots of cracks :crying: so i have no practical way of navigating what i cant't see.
can i do a factory reset through ODIN? what about SDK tools?

6.0.1 Updated Did a Factory Reset on my phone?

What the heck just happened. My s6 was on 6%, so I plugged it into a USB from my PS4. Next thing you know, while playing rocket league, I look down and my phone says something about 'erasing data..'. At this point I have no idea whats going on. Then I realize it is doing the system update that I had been putting off for a long time.
I immediately took it off the charger and was waiting for it to finish and then my phone died. I forgot it was on such a low %. When I plugged it in my fast charger and came back a few minutes later, it made me go through set up wizard and everything was erased.
My first question is, how is this possible. After years of rooting/flashing my s3 and s5, I never thought that I would accidentally wipe a phone without doing anything (my s6 isnt even rooted).
Second question is, is there anything I can do? I just want the pictures really... I'm big on memories and have backed up every picture I've taken since my LG Ally. But I have over 100 that have been erased and wish I could get back.
edit: question 3. will this phone ever be rooted. If yes, I can just switch phones and hold on to this one and try to recover stuff later when I can root but those odds aren't looking good

[Completed] Fried board galaxy s3 - data recovery possible?

Hi there.
I have a friend that had a galaxy s3 mini till a few days ago when supposedly the board got fried up from an official OS update. His phone was never rooted.. and minding one or two scratches.. it was a "virgin" phone.
He said that one day he had his phone turned off and when he turned it on, it displayed the message that it was updating but then a few % in, it completely shut down and since then he was never able to turn it on again. He tried charging the battery, switching battery, pressing those combinations of buttons to get into download and recovery mode and nothing.
He went to a unofficial store and also to a samsung store and both believed it was the board that fried up. Even though the guys from samsung never admitted, the guy from that unofficial store said it wasn't the first samsung he was getting that week with the same problem after that latest update. He really believed it was the update that fried it. Oh well.. if it's true or not, we don't know. Either way, since they didn't take responsibility and wasn't a way to really know if it was samsung's fault or just a somewhat old phone problem.. my friend got the s7 (yeah.. samsung got money for this xD..) and we were wondering if there is anyway he can recover at least some of the internal data of the dead phone? It doesn't turn on at all.. so don't know if that's possible. Can someone please clarify me that?
Google shows a lot of results about data recovery but the tools used for that are fishy imo and say that they are used to recover data from dead phones but require the phone to be in recovery or download mode which is even fishier right? I mean.. if it's dead.. xD
Any help on this would be very much appreciated!
Hi !
A device which can`t be powered on it is a dead device , the local storage can`t be accessible so its data can`t be recovered
Cheers !
Oh.. those are indeed sad news. But oh well..
Thank you for replying!!

Question S22 Ultra stuck in bootloop after restarting to get rid of "moisture detected" message

I updated my s22u as soon as it became official and was working fine but suddenly it stopped charging at SUPER FAST CHARGING speeds and only regular charger speeds, i brought it to samsung customer care to report the problem and they saw that the problem was with the port and decided to change it but i told them that i need to backup the phone so i will bring it tommorow ( which is today) today i was backing up when suddenly after backing up the most important part which was photos the moisture detected message came up when i plugged it in but the usb cable was dry and i was in the room without any liquid or moisture present, i tried to backup wirelessly but it didn't work with dex/airdroid as there are thousands of photos in my phone and then i tried to restart the phone to see if that's the issue and BOOM, the phone is stuck in bootloop but not a regular one as i know before, it sometimes boot into the phone lockscreen where i can't touch or select anything or open it and then rinse and repeat, i can't boot into recovery as i think the moisture thing is not letting it to go there when i connect it to the pc,
I REALLY NEED MY DATA and i'm in the worst freakin possible situation right now and need to use my phone urgently...
anyone with a possible solution? samsung's new boot into recovery method really screwed me here as i believe a wipe cache partion would've fixed this...
After few hours from this problems any changes?
All the time situation with bootlop?

If your device is still under warranty, seek warranty repair. If the device hasn't been exposed to moisture, it should be covered. I've heard of this happening to Samsung devices - the moisture sensor malfunctions even though the moisture indicator is intact.
Is your bootloader unlocked? Can you boot into download mode? You may be able to use Odin to reflash the factory firmware.
I had a similar issue with a previouse samsung phone. Even though it was not near any water. Took it to repair and they replaced the charging port and whole new logic board..
