Is there any way to make the note 5 audio quality sound like a htc one m7 . That has been by far the best sounding handset and headphone combo i have have ever had . Is there a kernel to make the audio come close to a m7 ?

Not without adding a second speaker to make the handset stereo. There are some pretty good options in the audio settings for headsets, but for the handset, you are limited to one speaker which will never sound as good as two.
You can check this link for a mod that increases the audio output, but it is only for the t-mobile variant. It might get you started down the path though.

Hehe problem solved now I enjoy my headset

which and wear did you get it?
I ended up buying the samsung's stock headset. I think the solution would be the samsung official adapter and a 3.5mm headset

If you still would like to have Sennheiser you can get the MM-50 Nokia
They work, answering calls also works in a word it works like a stock headset but the sound is better (imho)

well im looking for something i ca n get at my local best buy. I still have he samsung opens and they are sealed. I just hate using then as they start to hurt my ears
I'm using the MW600 with Sennheiser CX300 headphones.
Works well.
I use my CX300-II without any adapter. With the Hardcore Speedmod kernel I'm able to use the phone's mic to speak.

those dont look like they have a mic, i found 2 at bestbuy Bose MIE2 and Monster's Mobile JAMZ but yes you gotta shell out $149
I think i will have to shell out 20 bucks for this and use my skullcanandy mic'd
How do you manage the wire when you are not using it?
Wrap it around the phone?
SteelSeries Siberia Neckband should work with the Galaxy S standard? or do you need a Iphone converter as wel. I love the sound on those headphones, but I am kindof a bassaddict. Any thoughts on this?
+1 MW600 plus your choice of headphones.
If you would like to opt for headphones from a well-established and pioneer company, then the best option you have is to search for them online as that may help you to compare and get the best features which you are looking suitable to your needs. So, search for the headphones online.
Hi guys... Just thought I'd throw my bit in. If your after a decent bluetooth headset I recommend a set "Arctic Cooling" P311. I have had these for about a month now and they are great.
Mic in earpiece does a good job and sound quality is 4.5 out of 5. Only thing is using bluetooth doesn't allow me to use voodoo sound which would be a plus (need to plug in jack). I have made numerous phone calls with them and the people on the other end have no trouble at all hearing me. Thay also wrap around the back of your head and i have been jogging with them as well. So all round decent headset with all the features you need. God I sound like I'm pitching for them lol....... Anyways they go for about $45 buck and can get straight from their website.

Im using some skullcandy aviators and it has a mic on it (I believe) but the bigger issues for me is that the buttons for volume and song control don't work do you guys know of any headsets with mics that work. I just hate having to hold my phone in my hand if im moving around, listening to music, then get a call so that I can talk through the speaker on the phone. Any help would be appreciated.
No,my htc headeset doesn't work right either.

I seen some Android headphones in radioshack the other day but Im wondering if theres some kind of app to give us funtionality?? I doubt it but I can hope I guess
The problem is that the Atrix 2 uses the new OMTP 3.5 mm jack which has the ground and the mic switch compared to a standard 3.5 mm jack. In order to have a functioning mic you would need an OMTP compatible headset or find an adapter.
I have had problems finding either...but finally found one made by nox audio (but can't find a place that actually sells it) and one made by blueant which you can order from their website (it is a spare part for their over ear headphone). I plan to buy one and try it and see if it works.

Ok great im going to look into it too, thanks for your answer
My headset seems to work just fine.
It can pick-up/hang-up phone calls. And when not in a phone call, the "answer" button activates the voice search.
They are JVC...I'll have to look tomorrow to see exactly what model.

Hi,
Yes.
But get yourself a good set of earphones, and it's great.
If you want great speakers, buy a Xperia Play
But yeah, they're pretty bad.
Try installing beats audio installer app from the play market. There's a huge difference when you use earphones. Get the free version because the pro version might not work.

well, the phone has 3 speaker devices so wich are you refering to? the actual speaker, the ear speaker (reciever) or the microphone?
as said the speaker is pretty bad, but I think that isn't a focus point for manufacturors anymore ( I used to have a Nokia with stereo speaker system )
The reciever sounds good most of the time in my opinion. And the mic, well, can't really judge that. haven't hear anyone complain about low volume calls from my part. The review sais otherwise though, I can't confirm that.
Just wondering but since I got my N5 and GF got Moto X on Monday, I can really tell the difference in speaker quality between the two and I use my phone to play music quite a bit. Has anyone just replaced the speaker in the phone? Is it even possible to purchase the tiny phone speakers separately?

OK, so you point me to an old thread that has no real information besides a few people saying they haven't tried it. Thanks.:good:
Your best bet is a pair of external speakers IMO. Otherwise software mods can push the built-in a bit further.

I was afraid of that. After watching a few teardown videos, it doesn't look like just any other cell phone speaker would fit. Seems like a proprietary setup.

If your willing to root your phone then install Viper4Android. No need for any other change. Check out the dedicated N5 and Viper4Android thread in this forums themes and apps section. The difference will be stunning for speakers, earplugs and bluetooth.

1) It's not really old.
2) It shows what the search function exists for
3) It gives you the same answers you would get if you asked (as this thread proves!)
i've been using the surround sound mod (enabling sound through earpiece speaker when using media) on my nexus 5 for several years. Is there something similar for oneplus phones? (op3 being delivered next week )

you wont need it as the audio is killer on the device.
Fair enough, but it still won't be stereo right?
I'll do it as soon as I get my device
Try viper4Android or Dolby digital sound Mod.. Works fine
Sorry, but the sound is not killer ? Try out Huawei Mate 8, then you know killer sound. Huawei P9 Plus with its stereo speaker is not better than OnePlus 3. So we can be happy with the speaker. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ speaker is a bit better. Galaxy S7 Edge speaker is as good as OnePlus 3. HTC 10 disappointed me the most. Worst speaker
Waiting for this mod.

You probably haven't used Lenovo Vibe X3 which has an output of 120 decibels from its stereo speakers with ESS SABRE 9018C2M.
How does the sound compare to the s7 edge and nexus 6p?
Any update on a surround sound mod for this?
Was supposed to get my device today but that didn't happen
Can someone upload their mixer_paths.xml that's on OOS? Its located in /system/etc/
Edit: nvm I just got it

OOS is a pain in the ass, moving to a cm base and seeing if I have better luck
In case you still haven't got your device: let me know if you need to test something, more than willing to help
Tinkering with the mixer paths right now. Headphones are fine but speaker volume is horrible. Vibration is horrible on this phone too.
Yeah, I'm willing to help in any way possible if it means dual speaker output!
For some reason both CM and OOS us mixer_paths_tasha.XML instead of mixer_paths.xml.
This means two things
1. It's definitely going to harder to identify which value corresponds to what peice of hardware
2. Theoretically we would only need one mod for cm and OOS
If anyone figures out the values for the speaker, let me know because so far I'm not having any luck
is this just a matter of try and error until the values are found or is there a chance at "no stereo at all"?
