Enable Call Recording in CM Source - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I see call recording has found it's way into CM13 (http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/132694/) and I plan to compile from source (https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Build_for_bacon#Build_CyanogenMod_and_CyanogenMod_Recovery) and was wondering if anybody had any insight on how to enable the feature for a device in the US? Or if anybody has any notes on the CM wiki regarding compiling?
Here's the old AP post regarding the feature in 12.1: http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/0...-to-nightlies-but-it-isnt-enabled-by-default/

Wasn't there a commit in one of the recent nightlies that enabled call recording?

It's only enabled in jurisdictions that allow call recording. The U.S. is not one of them.

Does anyone have voice call recording apk ?
collaboration on finding the app
I'm slowly trying one by one.
Made a spreadsheet in Google Docs to document the effort.
Can't post link directly cause i'm a new user here.
After the root URL for google docs, it's:
/spreadsheet/ccc?
key=0AoXJEOIu0EvfdHNEdFNLUU5KR0lLemVzaUl3ckdTelE
Email me or reply with your email address to get write access to the document,
so we can collaborate on the search.
I guess a very generous developer could resolve the issues for us. Maybe create a script or a kernel.

[Q] Voip Call Recorder for Whatsapp

Hi
Is there any app to record voip calls of whatsapp or other voip services.
Thanks
Thats what I'd like to know, too. As far as I know there's no such thing for whatsapp. Since the function is quite new, I'm quite sure that it'll take some time until someone gets it working. I didn't find any working skype call recorder, that's why I think It'll take A LOT of time... or is there a working skype recorder?
for "normal" calls I use "Total Recall" what is - in my opinion - by far the best call recording app! sadly it does not work with VOIP and I don't think the developers are going to implement this (since apps like skype are closed source, I think).
I am looking for the same: an app that records Whatsapp calls.
Anything available?
i could do it
Original sound quality would be good. Additionally, speech and recieved speech should not be mixed up in the same audio track.
How it can be done ??

I am working on this but stuck with a roadblock
The problem is that whatsapp itself uses MediaRecorder API to record and that prevents any other app from using MediaRecorder to record calls when whatsapp call is going on.
I have tried to find location of audio file that whatsapp is storing but couldn't.
I am out of ideas now. Can someone please suggest some way out?
Cube Call Recorder is able to, on phones with hardware that is able to process two simultaneous audio recording sessions.
They have a list of supported devices here.
Is there any other solution with root, because cube recorder is not working for me

Has Cm13 the call recorder?

I am willing to give CM13 a try for a few days at least.
Call Recording is a must have for me and I'd like to know whether this feature is included in CM13.
I mean the built-in recorder, not any external app.
Any idea?
I fear none knows! weird!
I think most users are probably bugged by this message:

To answer your question, yes the call recorder is implemented.
But as previously, it needs to be activated for your country due to legal stuff...
Yes its there since last week build, or you can also you jit, it works with a small tweak in settings. let me know if you need the settings.
Woot? I am not getting such a message with my XDA 2015.
Would anyone point me to the "previously referenced post about builtin recorder?
CM12.1 has it and just at the very first recording I get asked for confirmation.
Go on with those settings, please. THANKS!!!
The message only appears on XDA 2013 Beta.
Personally I think XDA 2015 could not be any worse in terms of complexity.
Could you please let me know how to enable the recorder?
I hope it's not the xposed stuff.
Thanks in advance.

Question Enable native Call Recording in google dialer

My previous use of modifying the settings seems to not work anymore and it appears to be based on location. Anyone have an idea of magisk module or espoused module that will spoof location?
thank you

Use the Basic Call Recorder (BCR) module. It works real good.

Doesn't work here. The settings are there now, but recording is not starting automatically and it gives a 'recording error' when I press the recording button in the call menu...

I got mine from LSPosed
I have given BCR a shot, because it keeps being updated. Should be better than the Skvalex one that charges $9.99 pre-tax.
But BCR 1.37 didn't work for me. The app appears to be crashing all the time without ever opening. I don't see the app called BCR or a short cut to it on the home screen upon restarting. There is one icon called com.chiller... that upon clicking, appears to show BCR but soon disappear. Could the February play system update have done something to my Magisk 25209, because I have forgot to install it to the inactive slot? All other modules appear to be fine.
The Google Dialer Mod's silencing alert is very difficult to be enabled. Maybe it's me. We need better options.

The LSPosed version appears to be much easier, though maybe the app should be updated more frequently. For example, the author doesn't respond to issues. Plus, it would be great, if the app could also enable recording on Wechat, Signal, Whatsapp, etc. There is so much potential untapped here.

Its free and there isnt much of a link to it, LSPosed is like edxposed and all the other variants, it has its own little module download. So you have to install LSP instead of other xposed managers
I had always been interested in implementing call recording, but would have to use an app or module because I live in the US, but I had thought -- in the limited of research I did on the subject -- that the "standard" or most established module was skvalax; is this no longer the case? or is BCR superior? Or is skvalax not one that integrates into the native phone app -- although I thought it does as I believe its what Pixelify uses to enable call recording in territories where its locked down...?
Just looking for updated information as I am a bit out of touch...thank you!

Skavalex still exists and works. It's very nice and has buttons that integrate into the dialer. They're overlays, but they're there and are 100% functional.

Skvalex is unfortunately not free, right? If they also support recording other audio calls, say Teams, Signal, Wechat, I can pay

I just tried wexposed, but still haven't found the recording function. The zombie friends identification is very cool though.
