Has Cm13 the call recorder? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am willing to give CM13 a try for a few days at least.
Call Recording is a must have for me and I'd like to know whether this feature is included in CM13.
I mean the built-in recorder, not any external app.
Any idea?

I fear none knows! weird!

I think most users are probably bugged by this message:

To answer your question, yes the call recorder is implemented.
But as previously, it needs to be activated for your country due to legal stuff...

Yes its there since last week build, or you can also you jit, it works with a small tweak in settings. let me know if you need the settings.

Woot? I am not getting such a message with my XDA 2015.
Would anyone point me to the "previously referenced post about builtin recorder?
CM12.1 has it and just at the very first recording I get asked for confirmation.

Go on with those settings, please. THANKS!!!

The message only appears on XDA 2013 Beta.
Personally I think XDA 2015 could not be any worse in terms of complexity.

Could you please let me know how to enable the recorder?
I hope it's not the xposed stuff.
Thanks in advance.

[APP] SayMyName Dessert

Hello,
At the moment I'm working on a new version of SayMyName Dessert. It's my first app (but it's already on the Android Market for more than a year ) and I just can't stop developing it. Mostly, I blame my users for that. You send me feature-requests, bug-reports, good feedback, bad feedback... even donations!
Currently there are two versions of SayMyName available at the Android Market. One for Cupcakes, and one for Donuts and beyond.
With the upcoming version of SayMyName, I want to merge those versions, fix old, very annoying bugs and add some often requested features.
Why I'm telling you that? Because I need even more feedback, more testers, more contributers D) and some guys who translate my app into various languages.
So, if you want to help me, please download the attached .apk and give me some feedback / requests / whatever comes to your mind. Just leave a reply here at xda or send me a mail. (tomtasche AT gmail)
Thank you very much
Tom
P.S.: If you want to try the old, buggy version of SayMyName, feel free to search the Android Market for "SayMyName Dessert".
edit:
I forgot to mention what this app is for.
Official market-description:
"Want to know who's calling you without looking at your phone? SayMyName reads out loud the name saved in your adressbook and tells you who's calling.
- reads SMS, GMail and K9-Mail too
- very customizable
- discreet mode
- Locale Plug-in
- open-source
- supports non-latin languages too
See website for changelog, etc."
edit:
Changelog:
- reads nicknames!
- fixes, fixes, fixes.
- much more
- mute gestures
- read number-/mail-type (custom labels supported too!)
- auto translate messages (enable "translate")
- improved widget
- fixes
- pause music during speech on phones with Android 2.2
- sk, cs and de translations by David K. (thanks! )
- supports people who can't find TTS Extended in Android Market / don't have access to Android Market
Planned features in near future:
- more translations (any volunteers?)
- bluetooth (maybe I found somebody who can help me! )
edit:
If you want to help translate, download this file and translate the text between the tags:
Code:
<string name="...">TRANSLATE THIS</string>
Return the translated file to me afterwards.
Thank you very much
Tom
PS: Please let me know if you want me to mention your name / mail-address / website.

Thanks! Tell me if you miss something.
I just tried the app for SMS notifications, but it gets interrupted by the notification. I'd like the notification to come first, followed by the announce and then the message. As it is now half the announcement gets killed by the notification.
I tried setting both Reading break and speech delay to 5 (seconds?), but the announcement started immediately anyway.
The app also seems to open a TTS-channel on start, causing noticeable hiss for a couple of seconds.
And the locale-plug-in, is it a separate download? Couldn't see it in Tasker even if I force-stopped it.
Your app seems to perform all the functions I want from TTS-notifications, now I only have to wait for the engine to not sound like a broken record in my language.

Nice, you found a bug! Little workaround until I upload the fix: set the speech delay in SayCaller Settings.

Locale Plug-In is made for Locale 1.0 (beta). I didn't update it yet, because I thought nobody would use it.
I'll note that on my ToDo-list, thanks!

Yup, that's the voice.... Froyo (CM6) on Nexus. Truth be told I don't really like the english voice either, it's just far too synthetic compared to some of the other TTS-engines out there:

Unfortunately I'm not responsible for the voice. It comes from Android, but the AT&T sample is very impressive!
I've uploaded another update at the first post, which fixes speech-delay.
Thanks

edit:
By the way, you can change the voice in "Speech settings" (linked in SayMyName). Change the "Engine" to "Pico TTS" and you'll get a female voice.

Excellent.
A slightly more convoluted feature request: Do you think it would be possible to change the TTS-language based on which contact a text message comes from? Say for instance if the contacts had TTS=en_US or TTS=sv_SE or any other preferred language in the notes-section?
The reason for this request is of course that I receive messages in different languages depending on the contact, so if I just decide on a language half the time it'll sound even worse than necessary.

Thanks for the hint, but it doesn't seem to work. Probably because I don't use EN/FR/DE/ES.

When I tried the old version from the market the notifications didn't pause the music or podcasts so the text reading was down out by the audio. Using btunes for music and google listen for podcasts. Any progress on this?

Can't get any of these to work on my x10 mini (Android 1.6). Old version from Market works fine but when I install these and try to open them I get a popup saying "The requested item could not be found".
Any idea what's going on Tom?
EDIT: Tried the earlier .6.3 and it seems the app is trying to search the Market for "pname:com.google.tts" doesn't find anything matching that though and just sticks on that screen
EDIT 2: Couldn't find the files on Market but the newest version of it is here:

can it use for 2.3.3?

Great The only thing I still have to try if video is sent from one Android-Talk App to another... It doesn't work for the desktop at the moment and it doesn't work for the front camera... that's probably why Google just rolled it out for the Nexus S... I hope they'll fix that soon!

[App] Root Call Blocker needs testers

Hello guys, im the developer of Root Call Blocker, an advanced call and SMS blocking app for rooted phones.
The app's home is here at XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051274
We have had multiple reports that blocking is not working sometimes on American phones, so we need some nice people to do some testing.
You can use the Groups function of the Lite version to do the testing - it gives you almost everything youd want from the app anyway.
Please post comments here, but also use the "Write to us" dialog in settings.
This works perfectly on my is 2!
Hoever this is the incredible forum!
Have the pro version running cm7 on verizon network and it works perfectly. Not one chirp when a call is blocked. Love it!
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Excellent, please leave a review on the market!
Thanks for this! Brilliant!
Enjoy... and remember, an update is always just around the corner! If you have problems, use "Write to us" in Settings!
Could you guys please test the following behavior for me:
1. How the app behaves when a blocked number attempts to connect during call waiting
2. How a blocked caller is handled when "Dont answer" is set as the reject method and you are currently on the phone and have not enabled blocked call vibrate notifications within the app itself
Dont forget to send logs with descriptions as well
Come on people, i really need some feedback on this!
Nothing at all?
Works well for me.
Works awesome. Best call blocker i've seen. No issues so far, been using it for months.
Cool. If you ever have issues, don't be shy and get in touch!
I have not experienced any problems, this app is the absolute best, thanks!
This is good news!
Whats with 1.7.1? Any issues?
Guys, an update has been rolled out. It contains an important new workaround thast needs to be tested.
It may help those people who have data issues, especially on LTE enabled phones sometimes.
Please help me test this by installing the app, rebooting and waiting for data to return with the screen on. Please wait 3 minutes at least before sending logs via "Write to developer" in the app.
Dont forget to include a description. Thanks!
Working perfectly for me! Thanks, this is absolutely top class.
Excellent. No fc is the latest build?
Any issues to report?

Call Recording App

Can anyone point me to a Call recording app that can be used via phone line not speaker/hands free mode.
Ive tried "Call Recorder" and "Auto Call Recorder", both only record my end of the conversion. From what ive read from reviews of those two previously mentioned, the One S seems to have problems with some of these functions.
Thanks
That's funny... I am trying to get one to work myself and its fail.. I came to xda for help and this was newest post Lol
Add 'total recall' to the list too. I tried everything, and all it does is save 0 byte files regardless of format. Using a cm10 ROM

It seems we need a kernal that supports Inline call recording... I looked, and don't immediately see a kernal that supports it. It seems to be in 'future features' in the bubba kernal..
I found this post from a russian site where they talk about a patch for the HOS kernal to allow it...
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=263718&st=2880#entry14545662
It says patch is not needed for CallRecorder 1.3 and up, but you tested and it didn't work?

You're in XDA-Developers... probably a safe assumption we all have root here
I tried that call recorder app, would not do in line recording. Again, I think we need kernal support. I'm not that sick at kernals, so we gotta start begging dev's to implement that patch into their kernal

Can't Record Calls after Mashmallow? Tried Multiple Apps

Hi guys,
On my stock Z5C before Marshmallow update I was successfully running (and recording) calls with the "Voice Recorder" app from Splend Apps. It worked well, although the sound quality was not great. Well, recently I updated the phone to Android 6.0 and today I tried using Voice Recorder but it gave me an error message: "do you have another app trying to record the call" or something like this.
First reaction was to install another app and get it to work. Well, two apps later (ACR & Call Recorder) and now I suspect this is related to Android 6.0 and not the apps.
Any suggestion on how to tackle this? Preferably without getting into in-depth rooting and things like this?
Thanks in advance,
BB

Interesting, but after reading some of the reviews I am not so confident this is 100% guaranteed to work.. and it does not seem like they offer a trail version. I explicitly believe the issues I have found are related to Android 6.0 and not the apps that I tried using, so unless I can try the app in advance I wont purchase it.
