How to flash to Android 6.0 Beta? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

Hi, I am relatively new at working with mobile devices. I understand that at one point the beta version for Android M was available for a short period of time but only in the UK. If you got it in the US, it was limited to a few select carriers, and Verizon was not one of them.
I am trying to install Android 6.0 Beta on my G920V. Here are the things I have done:
The Galaxy Care Method: Download Galaxy Care APK and install it. This did not work for me becasue the app is not available for the G920V.
Basically, I would like to know:
Where I can find an Android M ROM for G920V
How to install that ROM on my device
Will flashing my ROM to a different Android version cause data loss? (Is it super important to back up my data?)
I appreciate any help I can get.

You cannot do this on a VZW s6. Sorry

[Q] when rooted android, can lose official android os?

hi i am newbie
I bought samsung galaxy note GT-N7000 (THL). now i just upgraded android os official from 2.3 to 4.0.3 official throught samsung kie software. I wonder. if i want to rooted this android 4.0.3, so when samsung release new official android os, so i can upgrade throught samsung kie like before?
another problem is: Which open source softwares can backup whole app and android os and kernal without rooted device?
thank you
I'm fairly certain that you can update your device through official forums once you've rooted it. You may have to root it again after the update though.
Also you'll only get over the air updates if you keep the stock rom and bootloader, if you install something like clockwork recovery you will not be able to get your updates.
I know that the premium version of titanium backup can backup data from your apps but you definitely need root access to back up the full app.
Spend some time reading through the forums for your device, try searching around a bit, you may find that a custom rom is appealing, in which case you can root, backup your apps and get a better device.
Good luck!

[Q] updating a samsung galazy s2

Hello everyone, I'm new here so if this is in the wrong place forgive me. I am interested in getting a samsung galaxy s2( im with tmobile if that is important) and updating to the latest version of android. Is that something that is possible for someone who is not knowledgeable in hacking a phone to any degree? If needed, I suppose I can find someone who knows what they are about and pay for the OS update. I just want to know if it would be worth it to buy the galaxy s2 and even try to update the software. In short, I don't need the latest and greatest in terms of hardware, but I did want the latest android version. Thanks in advance.

Hi
Samsung galaxy s2 is worth the buy but unfortunately its stuck with the 4.1.2 jellybean update officially
However you can always get the latest android version using custom roms
I am runing the latest android 4.3.1 version using the cyanogenmod 10.2 custom rom without any problems(t mobile variant also has the latest cyanogenmod 10.2)
And the advantage of the custom roms are they are way better than stock roms that come with the phone and have unlimited tweaking options
You can always do it yourself cause it is so easy and you can find many tutorials here in the xda forums and you can also find someone who deals with the custom roms and get you with the latest update
Good day

[Q] safe to use SGH-I317M firmware for SGH-I317 Note 2?

I have a non-rooted AT&T US Galaxy Note 2 (SGH-I317), which I only use in wifi-mode along with a FreedomPop hotspot (I cancelled my AT&T contract last fall). So apparently I am not getting any more OTA/Kies system updates from AT&T (I am still on 4.1.2), and I would like to update my phone to 4.4.2
I found a non-rooting method for updating the firmware to the latest version of kitkat online using ODIN, but unfortunately I've been unable to find SGH-I317 4.4.2 firmware files anywhere online. I have however found several Canadian versions (SGH-I317M).
My question:
Is it safe to use these SGH-I317M files to upgrade my SGH-I317 model, keeping in mind I don't need any cellular functionality whatsoever? If not, is anyone aware of a SGH-I317 4.4.2 firmware file I could use instead?
Many thanks for any help.
Not sure if this will help but You might get the answer here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2589891

thanks - I was able to find 4.4.2 stock on xda, successfully loaded via ODIN

[Urgent!] Unsure about what rooting software

Hey, I'm new to this rooting stuff with Androids (I'm familiar with jailbreaking on iPhones though, so I am aware of the risks) and I'm not exactly sure which software would best fit me. I would like something that could change some of the things that I can't change without rooting with Android 6.0.1 like the lockscreen settings (like being able to access the apps I want WITHOUT having to unlock the phone). But I'm not even sure what software I need in order to get started nor what to do next.
And to note, I have a Galaxy S6 Edge Sprint variant (SM-G925P), running the latest build of Android 6.0.1. I already have Odin3 3.0 and the latest Xposed downloaded and installed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3340508 check out this thread. It may help you.

That's for SuperSU, would that fourm work for Xposed?
Any one know how to do this with Xposed?

rom for galaxy s5 sm-g900a at&t

Good day
Previously I had a Galaxy S3 and I was using CyanogenMod – Loved it!
I just always preferred a phone that was clean and lean without all the bloatware.
Now I’m with the S5 and there is possibly an option available for a custom ROM for my phone?
Currently –
SAMSUNG GALAXY S5 SM-G900A AT&T
Lollipop 5.0 G900AUCU3BOC4
So far as I can tell this phone could not be rooted.
Until a few days ago I got a notice in an email that it was now available.
I was on their mailing list if something should become available.
oneclickroot
I know you can’t go backward LP 5.0 – KK 4.4.
One can only go forward, LP 5.0 - LP 5.1 or LP 5.0 – Marshmallow.
However most of what I have seen out there for my phone has been LP 5.0.
At present I’m looking at these unless someone can suggest something else.
TMS5 3.0 ROM LP5.0
Twi5ted lollipop V7 LP 5.0
Alliance V8 ROM LP5.0
My question is, can I go from LP 5.0 (Stock) to LP 5.0 (Custom)?

If you've got the locked bootloader then you're out of luck rooting and flashing TWRP/Cyanogenmod.

Actually the phone is rooted now. Right after I posted this I used Kingroot king481.apk and Titanium Backup is installed and Root Check confirmed its now rooted. Although I have not tried the Bootloader...... With my luck that is another issue..... I wonder if I should try the first step with the Bootloader and see if SAFESTRAP or TWRP can install?

Safestrap is no longer supported and with locked bootloader you're not gonna get TWRP to work.

Your device is an AT&T variant, your device has a locked bootloader, you can't install custom recovery with a locked bootloader. The bootloader on your device can not be unlocked, you will never be able to install custom recovery on your device. If you want custom recovery you will have to get another device because you will never be able to use custom recovery on the device that you already have.
