so i found this code in build.prop in android M beta, B807:
ro.build.hide.settings=8;1,89GHz;2.0GB;11.00GB;16. 00GB;1080x720;4.4;3.10.30;3.0
i guess this indicates a possibility to downscale down to 720p?
how do i edit this to show these settings, i tried .show. unhide ?can i simply remove the hide?
That's a feature on the phone!
Just swipe down and select screen saving, the phne will reboot in 720p

I noticed that a lot of folks do not like that screen capture button. As I was running through the settings, I noticed that you can turn it off in settings, screen, quick launch. You can make the button do something else there. Now if someone can figure out a way to make the icons smaller on the stock browser I'd be set.

I think the option to change it is new to KL1.
Yeah, don't see any such option in Screen shipped OS version.
I am on KL3. I didn't like kk1 because it made it even harder to write to the external sd

I was able to change it in KK3, not sure about earlier firmwares.
Not sure if can turn off but you can assign it do another function goto settings-screen-quick launch
I updated to lolipop, rooted and unlocked BL and some things are missing, most notably the nvidia power control. Pretty sure my tab is stuck in low performance/battery saving mode and the settings page to go to performance or whatever is no longer present.
So I was wondering if there was a place I can get the apps, or if any rooted users can pull them off theirs and share them.
I have the 16gb wifi.

Did you hard reset after updating?
Need to ftr.
Also, menu has changed on L5, add a settings widget to your home screen for power saving, there is soc menu.

I have only done normal reboots since updating, it did not freeze or restart during the update if thats what you meant.
I don't know what the issue is, but lots of apps broke across the update. Things like facebook give me -506 error not installing but the apk is still in /data/app.

I've heard FB has some kind of issue that some recommend to uninstall for time being.
I mean a hard reset, not a reboot. Go into settings, back up & reset, wipe all. You will lose everything, back up what you want save.
Always a good idea to wipe when doing a large update such as L5, and especially L5.

Power Control is hidden on Lollipop.
Go to Home Screen and add a witget for settings, then select Power Saving for the option. That should bring you the original Shield Power Control.
I must be missing something but hell if I can figure out how to launch the camera from the lockscreen.
Used to be able to do it with a double power button click on my S8 but on my VZW Pixel 3 it brings up the code unlock first. I find that there are many times I just want to take a quick shot without having to unlock the phone.
For that matter, does Pie offer lockscreen widgets at all?
Thanks for your help.

Yep. Double checked it. Still forcing me to unlock before allowing the camera to launch.

Strange, works for me. It's possible a Device Administrator (work email, etc) is preventing it... They sometimes disable certain functions while the screen is locked.

Yeah that's why I came here to ask. It doesn't seem to make sense. Especially since I have not set this up for work stuff yet.
Is there a general lockscreen widget area?

I would check Settings > Security > Advanced > Device admin apps to make sure there is not an administrator enabled that could be interfering.

AFAIK support for lock screen widgets was removed in Lollipop.

Ah, yes, those were the days (pre-Lollipop) when my lockscreen was super useful and interactive, and so was my notification ticker in the status bar. I feel like an old man now remember how good things USED to be. lol
But to the OP, something is clearly wrong as this feature is turned on by default on Pixel devices. Try a factory reset. You can backup your phone to your computer using the adb backup and restore commands.
Did you select Camera as default app when launching with the phone unlocked? The first time it will give you the "open with" dialog. For me it was Camera and Snapchat. I selected camera and always, and now can launch camera from anywhere.

I noticed this as well. OP, are you having the app selection menu popup after entering your pin?
Press the power button twice to activate the camera from the lock screen. Can't activate the camera from the touch screen
Kinda sucks though it doesn't work if u have a passcode it still needs entering to use the camera

No, it'll work. You can't view pictures taken before using the camera unless you unlock
I try and get this screen
Works for me with pattern lock, don't use pin.
Just go to the camera settings then scroll down and turn on Quick launch
Enter your pin, and select one of your camera apps as "always" then it'll allow you to skip the pin when you double tap. ?

Thank you for the tip!
I hope by now the problem has been resolved, I was also looking out how to access the camera from the lock screen and it turns out (thanks to advice from friends not from anything I found from the many internet searches) that if you click the power button twice the camera pops up. You can check this by going to Settings- System - Gestures - Jump to Camera.
Hey everyone,
Does anyone know if it's possible to make the Google Camera open with double tapping power button from a screen off action? I much prefer the Google Camera at this point and it would make everything awesome if we could.
I m rooted and have Magisk if that helps.
Let me know your thoughts!
Thanks!
When you double tapped for the first time, it didn't ask you which app to open? Because it should. Maybe you chosed stock camera app as default. Go and clear stock camera app defaults. You will find it in Setting -> Apps.

Oh no, I've got it once screen is on. But I'm curious about the one when you double tap from screen off. It auto launches the OnePlus Camera.
Have u tried using quick gestures?
I'm looking for a solution also. From the lockscreen double tap power always launches the OnePlus Camera, when the screen is unlocked it actually launches the default camera. Gestures do work, but are rather cumbersome and require you to unlock the phone when drawn.
Hi! I try to work with Open Camera on a Realme GT Neo 2 . The issue is the open camera does not save the photo in RAW. It captures the image, sounds like a camera, but at that moment the app stops and the image is not saved. When you stops the app, and reset, you can capture one, or maybe two photos, but if you leave the app, when you come back, fails again. In JPEG mode there is no problme, only whit the RAW format...
In the settings you'll need camera2 API just beneath Online help.

Yes, yes! I have it! I've selected Camera2 API. But the app shot the picture, and immediately rest stopped. The photo is not saved. But the app is not crashed, only the image stills on the screen till you push settings, or back button, for exemple.
Try this .... go to your settings of Open Camea via the wheel in the upper right corner .... then go to the last one .... which is called Settings manager .... then you get three options there ..... don't be afraid to choose the last "Reset settings" ..... this helped me a lot....but I must say, my phone is complete different of yours.

Thanks! When I do this, the app works fine, but when I change the settings to shot in a RAW format, the issue comes again.
Okay ... I'll experiment on this .... the documentation on this is vast and I only use the app since a short time. I am certainly not an expert. Hope someone more skilled finds this thread too.
