Hi,
It looks like someone was able to get temporary root on carrier version of XT1045 (Moto G) LTE, but no instruction have been documented. I would appreciate if someone would document this. All the HOW-TOs root so far require bootloader unlocked, which is not possible with carrier version of XT1045 (Moto G) LTE from AT&T/Cricket.
I am OK with temporary root as I plan to use this to de-bloat carrier loaded stuffs from system partition.
Thanks.

I purchased a Moto G for Boost mobile and follow the instructions on [GUIDE][PAGE PLUS] Easy Method To Flash Boost Moto G To Page Plus w/ Voice, MMS + 3G to flash it to Page Plus. I think I flashed it correctly but I cannot activate the phone. I tried to activate it with a port request on and got a "device rejected" error. I am currently using Verizon prepaid phone so I tried to replace my Verizon phone with the Moto G but Verizon says the MEID is not found or locked to Boost. The OTA programming to Verizon also does not work. I'm not sure if I should be able to do that before activation.
Thanks in advance!
hi!
i've 2 friends with moto Gs 2013 global version (non-GPE) xt1032 bought in the USA from amazon (sold by amazon) that arent getting lollipop OTAs. the phones are in argentina with an argentinean sim card. the Motorola Update Services app is up to date at version 4.0. still, when checking the "about phone/system upgrades" page it says they are up to date.
they are stock and never rooted. the bootloaders are locked due to warranty loss if otherwise. (and one of them was already replaced under warranty for not reading sim cards!)
i would like to upgrade the phones to lollipop WITHOUT rooting, unlocking the bootloaders or resetting the phones.
questions:
1) have these phones received lollipop in the states?
2) why are them not getting the upgrade? argentinean sim card? location reported by phone? geolocation of IP address of the phone?
3) can i flash a signed upgrade without unlocking the BL, without loosing warrantry, and without resetting the phone? maybe through fastboot of maybe by manually downloading an upgrade and rebooting to recovery?
4) anything i could do? load a US sim card? tunnel to the US from the phone? tunnel to the US from the wifi access point?
thank you very much friends!!
EDIT: the phones are on 4.4.4.
Does anyone have a flash-able zip or something for the Moto G LTE lollipop boot-loader. Other people's devices are working fine but mine has a weird horizontal line that indicates that my boot-loader isn't compatible with the ROM I'm running (android 5.1). Does the Moto G 2013 (No LTE) bootloader work on the LTE version? If it does work, is there anything it isn't comparable with? I'm willing to use fastboot or adb or whatever it takes to get the bootloader on there.

The Lollipop Bootloader for 4G / LTE Moto G will be included in the Lollipop OTA update arriving shortly. When a factory firmware image is available, that will also include the file motoboot.img - which can be flashed independently via fastboot.
I would strongly advise against flashing the non-LTE Bootloader on your phone. Messing around with Bootloaders is extremely dangerous; many people have have had to learn this the hard way and now have ruined phones.
Will flashing the ota update bootloader on a different version of the moto g lte (us cellular) have any affect
Hey guys,
Not sure if its been asked, but for some weird reason the network band option isn't anywhere in the phone menus. The phone is the cricket version h634 unlocked with the 5.1.1 OS and latest cricket update that fixed the audio player cache issue. I am completely lost with this phone and see that there isn't much information on the internet in regards to modifications etc. I did try a code set of numbers that enters you into a hidden network menu, but received a prompt that the app cannot be opened (not sure the exact error).
Please advise, thanks so much guys.
My friend got a used SM-G920R4, has AT&T, and wants root. I want to get the AT&T stock firmware to put on it, then root it. The sim works once AT&T settings get added to the network list, however mobile data doesn't work. He is running Android 6.0.0 and has an unlocked bootloader.
