CM 13 for hiaeWHL - HTC One A9

i can barely figure anything out about this model, i already soft bricked it wiping everything and then trying to install the wrong cm13. got it unbricked with a ruu but still cant find much on this model. there gonna be a cm for this model, or a work around? maybe any kind of rom thats not stock and just rooted. coming from a m9 and very disappointed on the phones hardware and now theres no cool roms to play with D:

I agree....its disappointing to say the least with how little support there is on this model. I thought with this one being the new flagship supposedly that it wouldnt be like this. Sadly, the little help from the few awesome devs on this are spent and have given up or will if no extra help is provided. It is a lot of work and if i was more experienced with more time to devote, i would be happy to assist them. Before, I used to do all this due to the lacking abilities of my prior handsets for what i wanted to do. Bright side is this one doesn't have any for me this time so i am happy with root capabilties, xposed, viper4android and twrp at least. Who knows....maybe this will be a late bloomer and more support comes around....keep my fingers crossed.
There is CM13 in dev for the euro versions and maybe unlocked version but it'll be a while before it makes its way to WHL

even with gsm there isn't really any devs or support. ill be taking mine back this week to at&t and getting a nexus 5x.

im uploading a modified nightly that should work on the HIAEWHL and any other variant im going to edit this post when its uploaded
it will install SuperSu and BusyBox during flashing so it will work as you expect it!
Edit: Please report if it is working on HIAEWHL

Boot bug that is present on UL versions is still there with WHL. After about 5 minutes, it seems to be hanging at the CM13 bootlogo. I gave it about another 5 minutes, now I'm just going to restore my backup.

any errors during flashing?

I'm able to boot all the way into CM13 with no issue. I'm S-OFF, not sure if that makes a difference.

Hi again, sorry for such a late response back. There were no errors during flashing at all and I am S-OFF, rooted etc. Wiped data, system, cache, boot three or more times and three or more time factory reset as well, the usual u know?

You have to let it boot loop. It will eventually boot in.

Yes, I am using hiae_whl. I saw an error message about being unable to unmount /carrier, but that's it. It didn't impact the boot. I've never had an issue with a bootloop either. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I'm not using a Sprint SIM. I'm either booting without a sim or with a T-Mobile sim.

[Q] Flashed 4.4.4 deoxdexed stock rom, Calls dont work HELP

so i was on cataclysm from the beginning and everything worked great. I flashed stock 4.4.4 cause i want to use just xposed with a nice vanilla rom. everything works great except i cant get or place calls. i have sprint lte full bars, can get data and everything send texts/mms, go on facebook, dl stuff, just no calls. wifi or not doesnt matter either. everytime i try to place one it just sits on dialing and i lose all bars and then says can t make call, no connection. once i hang up the bars and lte come back.
I have noticed my network ends up on global sometimes instead of LTE but even when i switch it to LTE it still doesnt work. i have updated prl and profile too. Any ideas? thanks
EDIT: yeah i still cant seem to fix it. I was going to go back to a 4.4.2 rom but for some reason it fails in twrp everytime now... :/ but this is the exact problem i am having in this thread https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/Or6_6zCtBwc
seems like it might be sprints fault

Personally I would flash the factory images again just to rule out software being the issue, if it still happens then I guess RMA or whatever.

yeah i'll give that a try. weird thing is this happened only after i flashed 4.4.4 from cataclysm 4.4.2. i am waiting to hear if an RMA fixes the issue since someone else is already going that route. it sounds to me like it might be sprint

I doubt it is sprint causing this, or it would be all over these forums. I'd definitely install 4.4.4 via fastboot it'll give you the newest radio and the stock recovery. I'm betting this will fix your issue. Then just use fastboot or flashify to install the newest twrp, and flash su in recovery. If this doesn't fix it, it's a hardware issue.

thanks ill try it out when i got a spare moment. now that im thinking of it this all happened after i updated twrp, so could that be the root of all this you think? because i used the twrp app to update it instead of flashing, and i noticed it has been acting extremely weird lately.

ill look into it. people who have this problem said its not the apn though because i get data just fine and i can recieve calls. its only when i am placing a call it goes crazy and disconnects me
EDIT: so anyone know how to get to apn for sprint? its not under mobile networks. is it buried in a dialer menu or something?...

Well if you did some more research you would see that it's your kernel causing problems. I won't tell you what kernel to flash because that would be too easy.

Try skyhigh kernel 2.1 and you're laughing. [emoji5] [emoji5]
I'm having that same issue. I rooted using the guide on here, using Oden, TWRP, and the Noble root Kernal. The phone is only rebooting while making phone calls. It usually happens right around 1 minute into the phone call. I have searched on here and tried coming up with something onew google. From what I have read is it something wrong with the kernal? Just hoping someone can point me in the right direction on how to correct this problem, and is all that needs to be done is flash a different kernal? If so what kernel should I use. Sorry for hijacking your thread, just didn't want to make another one asking the same question. Any help is greatly appreciated
It's a kernel issue, guys. Flash a different one and you should be good.
That's kinda what I gathered, just wanted to verrify that was the issue before I went screwing around and messed something up, thanks for the reply though.
What kernel should we try ? I'm on a tmobile note 5
Well I'm running forever Loco rom no mods except for what comes with rom as stated b4 I have went back to stock backup and still the same problem if anyone who posted in the thread would be so kind to tell me which kernel I should try would be gladly appreciated

If you don't know what you're doing then you should do plenty of research... You shouldn't ever "screw around" if you don't know what you're doing. Keep reading and learn how to properly flash everything before you do this stuff or else you'll end up with a fancy paperweight.

You need to flash that file through custom recovery. You have to download it to your phone then boot into your custom recovery to install it. Just follow the directions on aryer97's thread where you downloaded the kernal.

[ROM] Galaxy Light Testers wanted

evening all,
im looking for users with the galaxy light (t399 or t399n) who would be willing to help test some new roms and kernels and be part of helping develop builds from the ground up for the light, i do not have a galaxy light (and im not likely to get one over in the UK) buit i do have a similar but slightly higher specced device (galasy s5 mini) so i am trying to also dev for the light but i need some willing volunteers who dont mind trying out builds that may not work at first and who are able to try and get adb logs so i can fix errors etc.
anyone interested, would be starting with a 5.1.1 rom then moving on to 6.0 (cm13 probably) once 5.1 is usable
reply to this thread or drop me a pm if your interested

Hi guys. I followed each step correctly and when the phone rebooted it got stuck on the Galaxy S7 splashscreen. I chose my variant (Sprint) while I was setting up the phone in Aroma. Is there something i did wrong? Perhaps next time I am going to choose the Verizon variant since it does state in this forum that it is 100% working correctly.

Started on stock PF2 with root. I mean all I did was flash it via FlashFire. It went to Aroma immediately. I set up everything (choosing my variant which is Sprint), and when the phone rebooted it got stuck on the Galaxy S7 splashscreen and never advanced from there. I am not sure what I did wrong, it was weird. Any one else have this similar issue or is it just me? Next time I will try choosing the Verizon variant in Aroma.

Not yet. I just posted my issue over at their forum so ill see what they say. It looks like with every carrier things have been working fine. I am odining back to stock and next time I flash it I will choose my variant as Verizon, or i will double check things and see if it boots up. And i dont think it would be a bad download.. I downloaded the rom right off of this forum. But I will report back.

Yes sir. It was stuck on the Galaxy S7 splashscreen for about an hour. I will try again. In Aroma it gives a list of all the variants.. sooo do you think if I chose Verizon even though I have a Sprint phone that it'll work? I am a little unsure. I checked the rom under every variant in xda and it looks like AT&T and Verizon are good. I mean I would think the developers would test this rom before posting it, right?

The rom should work, i mean developers know not to put out something broken. I tried a rom in the verizon section for my sprint s7 and it never got past Samsung screen. So im not sure if u flashing the Verizon variant would make it work

Or maybe we should wait until the developer makes sure all other carriers are working before trying to flash the rom again.. I feel like you will get the same problem I ran into.

No no man. You can try and see what happens, there's nothing wrong with that. I mean you may run into the problem I had or it could be a completely different outcome.

Just because my Verizon pixel ran into a boot loop after Resurrection rom a change grom purenexus. I've known issues from the past to be about build, ( European, ECT.) Or order of operations. Even supersu, usually after the fact for supersu. As a junior member with some xp I started this thread anyway after an Odin to stock. What did I do wrong,? Google pixel, Verizon, NOF26V, unlocked. I flashed twice, then Odin. Still looped.

Yeah, Odin. Download mode. That's how to save a phone from a bad rom flash

Odin is a Samsung thing. Fastboot mode or recovery or bootloader mode are the usual terms for a Google phone.

I had no problems flashing pureexus on my Verizon pixel. Resurrection rom is giving me problems. Phone won't boot past Google screen. Matched vendor. It's not that. What Android build is Resurrection Rom based on?

How in the hell do people flash things they know nothing about?
Do you read at least the op of anything you flash?
I'm still tryin to get over the Odin post
Answer this. Resurrection's thread title says 7.1.1. The Op says 7.1.0r7. " users are now asking if the new build will be 7.1.2. " What is is the current build based on. If the Op is outdated, what good is it?
P.s. I have seen some op updates on the rom thread... ok, some things are still outdated.
Your attitude needs work, maybe consider not replying. I do know some things about rom flashing. It is unnecessary to be rude. It is ok to make corrections about a post.

Just because I do my homework (read, read some more, read again, read til I fully understand) before I blindly install something is not showing off.
It's called "common sense"
This stuff is not rocket science

I agree on this. I do the same, read, read, and read some more until I understand what I am doing. I used to root phones that aren't "google" versions and learned how much of a pain it was.. therefore I am owned the last Nexus brand, and the first Pixel. Using a Google phone is so much easier! But yeah, reading is key. I hopped into this thread to see if someone needed some help, read through the posts, and was so lost as to what this user is doing.. Odin? If the user who is having issues is reading this, just boot your phone to bootloader, use fastboot and format userdata the device (wipe/format) and then fastboot flash the stock 7.1.2 image and wait for custom ROMs to update.

Alright moving on. Just generic crap on my thread here
Great news. I'm am now running Resurrection ROM. All I did differently for my Verizon pixel was move from 26V to 27B build. I flashed the rom and twrpRC1, Then I rebooted to bootloader mode and flashed the vender using the adb fastboot command. "Fastboot flash vendor vendor.img" need more specific instruction. See me!!! No more problems here.
