Looking for a new battery - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As my battery seems to near it's end, I think it's time to replace it. I've found this on Amazon and I wonder if it's any good? Looks like the stock battery: http://www.amazon.com/2010mAh-Recha...80&sr=1-4&keywords=moto+g+replacement+battery
I've also found some of ebay, but you never know if it's gonna blow up in your face when buying batteries there.

I always look for a "Genuine" battery.
It might not always be the truth, but the seller can not have excuses later when it breaks and turns out to be cheap china knockoff.
Something that is "for Moto G" sounds like a indirect announcement of a cheap knockoff.

battery question

alright im looking for a spare battery and with all the knock offs online i really being a bit sketched out, if anyone could help me it would be great!
the siedio online is 1600mah
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/basi16hnx1.htm
i also found this:
http://store.cheapnexusone.com/HTC-Nexus-One-OEM-1500-mAh-Slim-Extended-Battery.html
but i really dunno if its legit, cause i can t find anything about it anywhere else online...
also i found this
http://www.amazon.com/Google-Nexus-...3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1266349698&sr=1-3
problem is siedio doesn t sell a 1400mah battery, its nowhere on there website so i dunno if its legit or not?
i guess my question really is:
is the siedio a legit battery brand and its gonna go take a crap on me or damage the phone
and are the other 2 battery legit or knock offs?
if your definition of "legit" means made by HTC, then Seidio's battery is not legit. it's been my experience (over the past 3 years) that Seidio sells quality batteries. i don't know the specific manufacturer, but they're likely from japan. all of my purchased batteries performed well. i plan to purchase Seidio's 2800 mAh battery this week.
+1 for Seidio batteries & thier other accessories in general!

Happy bunny

Genuine replacement battery (all be it a little used) and a spare back for me to paint and customise to my liking all for £8.50. Am I a happy bunny? you betcha
cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genuine-G7-Battery-And-Back-Cover-Samsung-Galaxy-S-/170534311432?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3
that back cover looks nothing like mine
Mine has google logo on the middle and Samsung where that one has I9000 with a red logo.
Report if the battery is Genuine when it arrives please and i might order one for my self!
Yeah when I was doing the backplate hunt, I stumbled across that listing. The seller confirmed that it is genuine but it looks nothing like the Vibrant or SGS. That said, there are some odd SGS backplates out there as this one chap had an android in place of the google thing.
Orange UK always have to be different and own brand all their handsets. Doesn't matter as I am going to chrome it anyway.
it's a FAKE battery, the Genuine ones have a different markings specially where it says G7
i'm using those FAKE batteries, although they might be very good replicas of the old G7 batteries, they are not real
but performance wise, they work just as good as the OEM (originals) from Samsung
you will be better off buying this instead

same price for 2 + way more stuff
At least this guy is honest, and say clearly NOT REAL

<Battery> Any one tried it?

I found this on ebay..
http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/NEW-GOLD-243...neBatteries&hash=item4aa9178adc#ht_3268wt_772
any one tried it already ? or is there any review? i cant seem to find any on the web!
btw, its make in Japan.
The look of the battery is really nice.
But 2430
Can't say I've tried it but it looks like crap to me, same as most other batteries on eBay. Who cares if their battery is gold or not?

Yup, looks way better than the ones in the accessories section
This seems totally fake.
Googling will get you a few discussions on this battery, but the following image should confirm all suspicions.
http://img109.imageshack.us/i/20100708029.jpg/
For this one (1930mAh) it is only 750mAh....
well, i think this is fake and i don't think this is made in Japan, but in mainland china
I'm about 400% sure it is a piece of ****. Unless they are selling some amazing new high density cell technology for only ten quid. If so we need to thank them for not seeking to profit from their industry changing discovery.
-----
Sent from my pimped up Desire HD in association with Rcmix HD v3.3.
its not a gold like metal battery, lol. its just a normal battery wrap in gold sticker.
mmmmm, gold stickers also increase the CPU speed. lol
that really funny.....
I never tried, but look at the cell type Li-Ion Polymer IMHO it's somehow realistic. Maybe not as their ads 2430mAh but somewhere between 1230 and that value. Then 20 bucks is worth to try, any one brave enough to try and report?
You can check the seller's recent feedback and see if anyone bought any from them.
I mean there shouldn't be any harm, its just a battery. Its not like buying an adapter charger, in case of wrong voltage which will fry ur phone.
now, I'm no expert (and there is no end of websites run by battery experts), but there is a limitation as to how many mah can fit into a certain space.
That is, the OEM battery size gives a certain output, and you can probably get a bit more in the same form factor.
But not double Simply don't believe the bull**** out there. Whether it's chinese, japanese, gold or silver.
Older teminal designs allowed manufacturers to market physically bigger batteries with a custom cover, of course that is not an option here.
I am quite happy as long as I can get a day out of the phone, charging overnight.
If you want a 11,000 mah battery, look here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Largest-Capacity-In-The-World+1-AMP-Faster-Charging/dp/B004CHMP50/
There you go, your phone will run forever with that baby hooked up to it.
I bought a 5000 mah pack for about 2/3 the price, mainly since I want to be using the gps for tracking (and being tracked) purposes while out in the country on my mountain bike. Works very well, it's not heavy, it's a bit like having another small phone with you
Its quite likely that most manufacturing overstate the specification, which is a common thing really, not just battery, broadband, harddrive, etc. They always claim it has more then what it actually has.
But on the other hand, I wouldn't go so far calling it a fake, since japs does always paint something gold or silver to suggest higher quality stuff. Because when I was a kid living in asia, I buy a lot of radio control cars from japan and their expensive parts like battery, motors, always has something gold or silver attach to it
Has anyone ever got a decent battery from eBay?
I have been looking and I see a lot of 1500 mah ... but then if you read the fine print they say 1500 mah (+/- 200 mah) which admits that it is just another 1300 mah knock off. How can a legitimate battery be + or - 200 mah...
To bad the battery's coming from Japan are crap.
You want battery's from Hongkong, those are way better.
Anyway i bought a replacement/2nd battery wich had 1600mAh.
But after 2 weeks it wasnt as good as the stock battery wich let me use my phone all day and the 1600mAh one didnt.

Precisely. tbh, I understand we'd all like to believe there are miracle solutions to this, but equally we should understand that this miracle is not going to come from an ebay seller
However few dollars a cheap battery costs you, it ain't much use if it's going to fail after a few hours. And the hassle linked with keeping replacement batteries charged is not worth it either. I had a spare OEM battery for my previous phone, and I got fed up of keeping it ready.
3 solutions:
1) strategies to minimise power consumption (loads of suggestions in this sub-forum)
2) keep it topped up during the day if you're at home/office
3) get an external power pack as I mentioned above, 5000mah variants are (were) GBP23 on Amazon.

Need a trusted source for Genuine original battery

As per title, banggood used to sell them and I have heard gearbest can be dodgy for counterfeit stuff, Are there any trusted sellers where we can get a real original battery?
You are right, it is pretty hard to be sure you are receiving an actual Xiaomi original battery based on just a web page description. Even given multiple batteries that look identical, and then opting for the one with a higher price on the assumption that it really is original, well, that is absolutely not definitive (at least not in my experience--I have been burned a bunch of times like this...). I think the only way is maybe to buy it directly from Xiaomi because I think even bigger China-based retailers (Banggood, DX, Gearbest, etc.) buy merchandise to resell thinking it is actually authentic only to find out it is just a good fake job. I'm not sure how to get around this. Because this is the case, nowadays, I usually just look on Aliexpress, find a vendor with a good rating and a high number of orders, and go with it. This is based on the assumption that actual experiences and word of mouth have led to a high rating and high number of orders, but neither is this a guarantee.
I did recently purchase a second battery for my RN2 on Aliexpress, and it cost a bit less than US$6 including shipping. It seems to perform as well as the original battery. Although you might see BM45 replacement batteries which offer up to 4000 mAh of capacity, the only way to be really sure about this is to use a USB voltage/amperage tracker during charging that also tallies mAh, and then account for nominal USB vs Li-ion voltage, i.e. 5V vs. 3.7V, and an efficiency factor.
Anyway, in the long run, I have probably not answered your question about a source for an original Xioami battery. But I can say my <US$6 one bought on Aliexpress seems to work as well as the original. Good luck with the search!
It's difficult to find a genuine battery and I beware who claim his battery have more mAh than the original one.
So I bought a Nohon battery from AliExpress and I'd say it's a good replacement.
+1 for Nohon battery. Good, after-market battery

LOL. Yeah my ORIGINAL battery looks like a balloon and it's now hard to close the back cover so I did order the Nohon battery. :silly:
I don't think that you can find the real original battery any more. In general, Dragon TT is a good source for parts, but they haven't had them in stock for a while. I ended up getting a Nohon battery (from what's supposed to be their factory store on Ali) and it seems pretty good. The capacity seems to be on par with the original, back when it was new, and it doesn't drop from 100 to 90% as soon as you start using the phone, like the original did. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, though.
Nohon batteries bad design
Hi,
I write just to warn about Nohon battery and their supposed 6 month warranty.
I had a bad experience asking support about a new battery bought through Aliexpress on 2018/09/09. The battery was a BM35 model designed for Mi 4C phone and has a loosen connector as shown in the photo attached. I had some experience with different brand spare batteries, because as we all know it is almost impossible to find original xiaomi batteries and rarely the replaced battery has a capacity similar to the original so it wears out faster, but this is the first time I see such a poor designed connector. I had the original one and other two third-brand BM35 batteries and usually the ribbon connector is a whole part fixed under the battery shoulder, instead the Nohon ribbon wire seems to be a different kind of plastic less flexible and more easy to cut, or simply not well fixed under the battery shoulder and easy to detach. I think this could lead to a potentially dangerous short-circuit of the battery itself and damage the phone too.
Obviously I reported this issue through Aliexpress dispute system directly to Nohon store and even if my battery should have been replaced inside the 6 month warranty, I received a joking reply telling me they would have let me know in a hypothetical future and they never replied anymore to the next message.

Does the quick charge work with this Nohon battery?
It does, the battery charges as quickly as the original one did, at around 2A.

looking for a battery replacement with nfc , will this one work?

So , my device's battery is already showing his age and I was wondering if this is a good battery replacement with nfc

I can't find any review of this brand's batteries, no matter the device, so I wouldn't trust it. But same goes for Samsung batteries because there are all fake and Samsung itself doesn't care nor does Amazon.
I have myself bought "Extremecells" and it's really good. I also know of "Polarcell" (they trick a little with the Ah because it's not more than others) and "Anker" being some trustworthy brands for phone battery.
If I look in Google for "best S5 battery brand" you get a lot of rankings with very different results and I don't think any of them really cares about quality. So best to ignore.
My suggestion is to look for some effort able brands in your area (Extremecell and Polarcell are German, so I don't know if you get them (cheap) in your area) and then look for some reviews of the brands batteries no matter the device. The brands will always use the same production quality (at least for the same generation) and only differ in form and device specifics like contacts and NFC that doesn't have any impact on the quality.

In my local area basically all batteries are the OEM Chinese ones , I heard powerbear is very good, I was trying to find a good battery with an nfc chip since most batteries don't come with one, and the only one that advertised to have an nfc chip was that one
This seems rather difficult. Anker no longer sells for the S5.
I thought of RAVPower but they are American not Chinese as I thought. I'm surprised that Powerbear doesn't have any with NFC Antenna.
Also found a lot of Wubatec batteries but as mentioned here the quality isn't good at all. Sorry but I don't have any other suggestions. Many companies dropped production for S5 as it seems.
Bought a cheap generic one (said to be OEM) off eBay Australia and NFC works perfectly.
It needs to say NFC on the battery. Larger capacity ones dont seem to have an NFC antenna within.
