Why did BT commands stop working in Marshmallow? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Simple question: Why did BT commands stop working in marshmallow? In all previous versions, you can control your music using the controls on BT devices but on Marshmallow, no commands work. I've tried using an LG HBS-700 & 730, Soundpeats QY7 & QY8, an iLuv Wavecast and a wired Xiaomi Hybrids. No commands other than volume up/down work.

Using Beats headphones by Dr.Dre with Omnia 7?

I intend to get either the Solo, Solo HD or the Studio by Dr.Dre (MONSTER).
Now my Omnia 7 NEVER detects ANYTHING with Bluetooth and apparently WP7 also doesn't allow the use of buttons on headphones etc.. So if i do get any of the mentioned headphones, will I be unable to use the buttons on them?
"Studios come with an additional Monster iSoniTalk™ headphone cable with built-in call answer button and microphone so you can easily stop the rock and start the talk." Would I be able to use the buttons on the Studios if I use the cable?
thanks guys, Abz
Well I have the solo HD and the new limited edition studios. And the volume button will not work but for my HTC Arrive(7 Pro) I can skip track by double clicking the middle button. But my friend HTC Titan can skip track by double clicking the middle button the the headphones.Only thing that works in my HTC Arrive is the middle button will pause/resume it for music playback.

So some of the controls dont work? Hmm...How many buttons are there on the headphone that are SUPPOSED to work with the phones? And you know the ControlTalk cable? Do the buttons and mic on that work? Can you use the Solo headphones via BlueTooth? LOL and just ONE more question, do you reckon all the controls would work if the headphones were connected to the phone via a A2DP or BlueTooth adapter? Or is it something to do with WP7 and the OS restrictions?
Thanks a lot dude

Well the volume button will not work since they made for iDevices. The mic works on SOME windows phone(Doesnt work on my HTC Arrive) but on any samsung windows phone and HTC Titan the mic works. Not sure about LG windows phone. And yes if you use A2DP or a bluetooth adapter that has controls will work.I use the sennheiser bluetooth headphones and it has 5 buttons on the earcup(volume up,down.next track, back track and pause) and they all work.I recommend to either get the New beats wireless that use bluetooth so the controls will work

Hmmm..so because my Omnia 7 is by Samsung, the MIC will work. "Studios come with an additional Monster iSoniTalk™ headphone cable with built-in call answer button and microphone so you can easily stop the rock and start the talk." So the ANSWER BUTTON and the MIC will work without the BT adapter?
And did is bluetooth built into your Sennheiser headphones? And can you recommend any Bluetooth adapters that might enable the controls on the Beats?
Thanks dude,
Abz

some Bluetooth drawbacks

So I got the honor 8 as my new phone since I wasn't satisfied with my previous LG V10's battery live and didn't wanted to spend 600+ € again.
Two drawbacks I found on my H8 after setting everything up are related to the device's Bluetooth:
1 - although introduced in android 6.0.1 again, the H8 is not able to control Bluetooth volume correctly. I can only control the device's media volume and have to manually set the volume on my Bluetooth device, too. Expected behaviour is to control Bluetooth volume on the phone (this works perfectly on my Xperia Z3 Compact)
2 - you simply can't have to hands free devices connected at the same time over Bluetooth. In my car I have a build in hands free in my car's audio system and I'm using TomTom 620 for navigation and to display incoming calls or initiate calls. This worked perfectly on the LG V10 where all connected devices would ring at the same time and the one I used to answer the call would than do the audio while TomTom would display active call information. Unfortunately LG seams to use a more advance Bluetooth hardware as this also doesn't work on my Xperia Z3 Compact simultaneously, nor on my brand new H8.
What's your experience with that?
For the bluetooth headphone issue, you can head into developer settings and enable "Disable absolute volume" to go back to the old way Bluetooth headphones used to work!

[FIX]How to fix bluetooth absolute volume problem on 7.0

Problem: For a few days my Bluetooth headset hasn't been with BAV(the buttons on the headset didn't control the phone volume).
Solution: Powering off the bluetooth headset completely through plugging in the charger(if yours support that). Then go into blueooth settings>forget device>turn off bt>power on the bt headset in pairing mode>turn on bt on the phone>pair them. This solved my issue and may solve your too although not guaranteed.
Devices:
- Moto G4 Plus XT1642 with android 7.0 and elemenalX 1.04 and root
- Sony Bluetooth Headset 60 (SBH)
if anyone is wondering this DOES NOT work for the s7 edge on verizon
Google is the one to blame! Nougat release is totally broke bluetooth absolute volume.

This worked for me.
Device : OnePlus 5 - OxygenOS Open Beta 7 Android 8.1 and Motorola Verve Rider+
So, I've found a way to get BT absolute volume work on Nougat
Actually BAV activates when BT device is connecting, but for some reason gets deactivated after few seconds.
So, I've found a way to get BT absolute volume work on Nougat:
Each time you connect your device, quickly press volume buttons on your bluetooth device (headphones, or speakers, or your car) until you see a VOLUME SLIDER on your phone, then IMMEDIATELY touch it and MOVE. It should keep BAV active.
Method is valid for my Xperia Z5 Compact and JBL Charge 2+. If this works for you, please share your success story.

DS4 OTG/Bluetooth

Has any been able to use the ds4 over bluetooth without lag? I tried using bluetooth autoconnect but it wouldn't work. The controller seems to work with otg and that brings me to my second point. Im looking for an app to remap the android control buttons without root because I'm on oreo with the SM-G955U.

ISUDAR Head Unit, USB DAC and Volume Control

Hello,
I have an ISUDAR Head Unit (NA03A7UN0708) with Android 7.1.1
I have been trying to get my USB DAC (Behringer UCA202) to work for a while which I have used on all of my other android devices and recently managed to flash my ISUDAR with a modified Rom and it is now rooted.
My dac did not work initially, I had added the usb_audio_policy_configuration.xml (not sure if this was required but seemed to be missing) and also made changes in the developer settings changing the usb type to "Audio Source"
The dac now works and switches perfectly when plugged in, however I cannot control the volume, it is just fixed at full volume.
Any ideas on how I can make the system volume work with my usb dac?
Thanks in advanced
Im trying to do the same!! I was thinking of building something with ardiuno chip and use that to control android system volume with a dash rotary or steering wheel controls. The only issue with this is that u wont get radio or bluetooth calling through the usb dac...
