You can download the app called LTE Discovery. It will tell you what band you are connected to. Spark is band 41.
Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

dial ##3282# you'll see view or list choose view scroll down to LTE and press LTE it will show band 41 enabled

Yeah it's ok

this is what I get in Orlando

CA is enabled by default, regardless if your location has it. ##DEBUG# and go to lte engineering. You should be connected to two band 41 sites. Look for PCI and SCC PCI. You should also have one Upload channel and two download channels, (PCC &SCC). If SCC PCI AND DL CHANNEL SCC are blank, your phone is not on CA which you guys are confusing with Spark. Spark = Triband phone able to connect to Sprint's multiple lte bands. For example, Note 4 and older triband phones, are Spark capable but do not support CA. Too many people are confusing Spark and Carrier Aggregation (CA). Oh and it's called Lte+ now. Here's a screenie of CA on Band 41 and what you're looking to identify.. Although judging by your screenie those are for sure CA speeds

Nothing. I no longer see clearwire show up in my area so I assume it's just an old clear site that's been upgraded and still needs some modifications. Speeds should be the same between the two..

I don't have as good ping but I have hit 10.7 MBps consistently.

Quick ? about Verizon S3 and ATT 3G

I have a quick question for everyone. I have a Verizon Galaxy S3. I am wanting to move to Straight Talk on ATT Service. I put in a Straight Talk SIM, and input the APN Settings that I had acquired.
The only service I could get was "E", which I'm assuming is Edge Service. I was just curious if anyone knew anything I could do to help the phone at least get HSPA on AT&T(Straight Talk)?
Thanks.

From my understanding it does not work that way. The only service you'll get is edge.

3G
I believe the model is missing the HSPA+ freq. needed in the USA. I have heard that it does get the HSPA+ with SIM card in other countries, but only EDGE in USA.

Anyone on Verizon going to try the N5 with their sim card?

I'm just curious if anyone is going to try putting their Verizon Sim card in the phone to test it. Think I might.

at least not LTE, so worthless

Band 4 is an LTE band on the Nexus 5. Verizon just opened that band up.
Thank you for the explanation. Someone in another post called Google and they said it's not compatible.

Of course google is going to say that. They cant legally say they support Verizons network. They could also deny supporting AT&T at this point but it just may work.

WCDMA band 1 is 2100Mhz.
Pump your breaks.
It won't work on Verizon.
The IMEID still needs to be in Verizon to make a voice call.
Although technically, the CDMA would work, it's not in the database.
Forget it, not on Verizon.
Move along, nothing to see here.

Is it possible to enable LTE band 13 (in addition to the VZW supported AWS band 4 already there) and then make calls over data using an app like GrooveIP? I could care less about cdma voice.

What's your 4G LTE speed?

Hello everyone. If this has been made and asked already I do apologize. I just wanted to see what kind of speeds you all are getting on 4g. Here's my speed on LTE.

It depends on the signal really. ..I took one where I had great signal and it was brilliant. . But in my house get about 20 - 35mb

Pretty standard Australian speed.
Just a shame I only get 3GB a month.
That's pretty impressive Jema. Don't even get that on my home broadband ? and I got unlimited. .. don't use more than 10gb at all

DROOOOOLLS looking at those 4G speeds as its faster than my fibrebroadband. Hopefully with get that elusive 4G in my area sooner rather than later as i have an unlimited connection and Three have said they will provide free update to 4G when area is updated for 4G. Presently stuck on 3G speeds or my wifi speeds.

It depends from region where we are. At home the 4G is good, on my pack from 50 Mb/s I have sometimes 52 Mb/s.
At two Km from my home, only whit 3G, I have Your speed 16 Mb/s in test but the connection is 4G. Not region 4G in this case.

Nexus 5 models band

Hello,
I bought a Nexus 5 in late 2013 from the french playstore. Now I have moved to the US and I am wondering if the phone is expected to work perfectly on AT&T or if it will have some restrictions.
It is unlocked, rooted with stock (5.0.1) if it matters.
It seems it cannot benefit of LTE / 4G of AT&T but I would like to confirm that (maximum i can get is HSPA +)
Thank you!
Jon
It'll work just fine up to HSPA+. I use a D821 from Australia on H2O which is an MVNO that uses at&t.

If the phone doesn't have it you can't make it have it. You cannot unlock bands that are not there.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why do you keep saying that. The phone has it. The specs says it does. Try googling unlock bands there are a couple I found on xda. One was for nexus n the other OE was for opo. The D850 is a little different because of art n I wanted something meant for this particular phone

Because 1 phone can doesn't mean others can... The G3 is not the same as a OPO or a nexus. The reason why some can is the band is locked out in software but is available in hardware. Remember bands rely on the actual hardware of the device. With the D850 if it doesn't have the band it won't ever have the band. And non of the bands are software locked to my knowledge. But if they are there's no way around it at this time.
If the D850 does indeed have lte band 1800 then it could be an issue with your APN or your carrier is using a different lte band.
Sent from my HTCD100LVW using Tapatalk
Thank you so much. The phone has the band I'm sure I've checked multiple forums for the specs. So the band is there. I've checked with the APN which are also right. The ISP uses 1800 and the note 3 n9005 works great. It's just this phone something is wrong and I want to know what.

Theres been a few posts on Band 1800 with the D850 and it doesnt seem to work. So I doubt there's a chance of it working.
Please share those links with me. Why doyou think that is the case?

Just google it there's several posts about it. Because if that band is actually there hardware wise it is being locked by the modem and in which no one has a way around that.
