Would anyone be interested in having this? If there's support I'll write it up, but if not don't wanna waste my time...chime in if you think this would be a good tutorial.
Edit- i want to be sure to give credit on this to the original tmo upsell page that i can't seem to find now to link at the moment smh that's what made me investigate after reading reports in that thread that it no longer worked, but seems it does, the major difference- i think- being to specify another user agent, don't just strip it null, and I'm working on tweaking the setup because fiddler4 isn't handling the certificate requests quite right, which causes you to have to babysit it in the case of large downloads where the same http tunnel has to be opened for an extended period of time, so once i have the links out I'll post the planned "tutorial", and i think in the meantime i might just document my process on getting the glitches out of fiddler4- errr should i say, adjusting it's handling of such- for the sake of someone else who may be in my position and want to use a wireless connection for their ps4. In the UK tmo had signed agreements with Sony to make data available to people who purchase the system because Sony knows how important it is to have data access. No one wants to shell out 500+ bucks on a system and then find out that system could eat as much as 300gb of data in a month. Even how cable service in some places have caps in place and throttling- like if you're unfortunate enough to have hughesnet smh not that 1st person stuff is gonna run with 1500-2000ms ping time averages, but there are still games that aren't as ping intensive that'll work fine, and the large file downloads are much better than years ago, onboard routing on the birds has made lots of difference. It's still inherently ping challenged, but other than that it's really pretty good- but the usage caps are miserable, along with others who have dsl or other smaller regional providers, it can get excessive- buy 3 or 4 60 buck games in one month and see if updates alone don't cost ya 50gb+! So the idea, yes, is to swap out all the http headers on the fly so that not just browsers from a pc are able to spoof the packet header, but ALL traffic, irregardless of its' source- so even your ps4 or Xbox one- as long as you have a pc (I'm sure a mac could probably be used, but I'm using a win10 pc, so that's what I'm writing on) to put between the console/tv/pc/bluray player/you get it and your wireless device you can replace the header of every packet that passes thru and make tmo's systems see the connection as an android chrome device instead of, say, a PS4
More to come.........

Alrighty, well give me a bit to type it up with all the links etc...it requires you to connect your device to your pc via USB and enable the tether, then connect your ps4 directly to your pc with a crossover cable, bridge those two connections, run Fiddler4 on the pc with a few settings enabled that strip the user agent string from every http header and replace it. It's basically an update to the thread that already exists that explains how to do it using the old fiddler 2...but i guess people no longer were able to make it work for whatever reason, but i got the new fiddler 4 running great! I'm currently in excess of my 7gb of hotspot data by about 80gb and i hadn't been able to get the ps4 to download the black ops 3 update for like a week- Netflix would work on the ps4, but downloads from the notification page would get throttled and there wasn't any good way to get around it without getting rid of that user agent string. Vpn is too slow and/or expensive, so I'm thrilled i found this workaround still works with some updated software! i haven't been able to play black ops 3 multiplayer for over a week because i needed this 9gb update and couldn't download it! Smh lol but all is well! Fiddler handles it like a champ! Not the most convenient thing to have to connect everything with wires and put a laptop between the ps4 and the device, but it sure does work!

Well I've got to tell ya, it's been REALLY hit or miss, fiddler 4 WILL remove or replace your useragent string in the ip header but that's only getting you past the automated checking, but post analysis may still get you dinged depending on what exactly you're doing....

Im coming up on 24gb of data usage on my thunderbolt and still have 15 days left on this billing cycle. Has anybody here passed this amount of usage and has verizon tried to limit the data after too much usage.
thanks
The fine print says if you are in the top 5% in data usage they will throttle. But I asked sales rep and manager at my Verizon store and they said unlimited means unlimited to them.

$30, I hope unlimited data from Verizon meant unlimited data, no gab after certain amount of usage. I am at about 20GB "finger cross"
I'm lucky to push 5gb. What am I doing wrong?
I got the Thunderbolt on March 28th. My first billing cycle ran from that 28th to April 6th. That time, I hit around 30gb. So far from April 7th to now, the 29th, I've hit 77.974gb with my bill cycle May 6th. So far, no throttling, nothing like that. When I noticed my internet went out during the big, nationwide LTE crash two days ago, I thought at first VZW cut me off for high usage. I was relieved to go onto this forum and find I wasn't the only one.
I don't want to brag about it, but since I haven't seen any negative actions so far, you should be good to go. I don't know if I get preferential treatment due to being a VZW employee though...
And for those who are curious, all that usage is from "Internet Connection Mode", USB tethering to my PC, downloading PC games from Steam and some torrents.

When I tether my 4G connection and download torrents I only get about 1 kbps down! Do you change your settings in your torrent program for tethering?
Wow. 72GB?
I noticed that the first 7 days of use, my usage shot up to about 4gigs. Then it seems to have slowed to about 5.5gigs total in the next 14 days, and now i stand at 5.7gigs. Got 1 more week left on bill cycle.

I haven't made any modifications at all. I simply connect my Thunderbolt to my PC, it asks me what option I wish to choose, I choose "Internet Connection Mode", wait a few seconds and I am connected. The fastest speeds I have gotten down so far are 2MB/s, the fastest upload around 500KB/s.

If they going to limit the data then they need to remove the word unlimited. Whether you are the top 5% of their users or not. Not many people read the fine prints. When I login and see a big word stating unlimited. So I beleive I have unlimited.
Go to att.com and pull up your past data useage and post it up!
Mine. I just started using my wireless whenever I'm at home. So it's less than it could be for the last month or two.

Past usage and for this month...
I download about 100 gigs a month on my home internet. Less than 2 gigs a month on my phone. I'll watch streaming videos on youtube, cnn, and such once in a while. If I want to watch something whole movies or tv shows on long trips, I'll just put it on the phone.
My highest was 1.8 GB last November when the skyrocket launched...probably all the speed tests I did! I feel like I am on the phone all the time, but there is wifi about everywhere I go...may sell the skyrocket for the GNote if the battery life is decent.
Right now I have sprint and get unlimited data. I'm switching to AT&T to get the skyrocket next month.
Once I switch I will only have 3gb of data.
Can anyone confirm rather or not there is a way to set the skyrocket to download updates to apps only while connected to wifi? Or maybe a way to set it to only download updates from like 2am to 6am? (while I'm at home sleep and connected to wifi)
Thanks!

Yes, there is. You can set that inside the settings/preferences within the Market app. That's the same across the board with the new Market App on all android devices. Presently, I have mine to only update when on wifi, so that saves on the data use because I'm still on the 2gig limit.
Man, I am WAY on the other end of the spectrum from you guys.
I use consistently less than 100 MB. It's really all the garbage and bloatware backgrounding data that will kill you. I turn data off when I'm not using it, and mostly use it for web/forum browsing and GPS nav when I'm away from WiFi, and a lot of times I'm as low as like 30MB for the month.
Man, you guys use so little data.
I mean, I use quite a bit, but usually not more then 6GB, and that's a lot for me on mobile data.
I still wonder how AT&T compresses data, because I watched a 2 hour live stream on LTE, and only used 200MB of data... insane.

I have always wondered how much data is being used when watching Netflix. Based on your post about 100MB per hour... So a 30 min show would be about 50mb.
Question: where are tou streaming from? Netflix? Crackle? Some others?

I tend to use a lot of data. I stream from Pandora at least a couple hours every day. I could use wifi more at home, but LTE is still faster than my 15Mbps home connection. I wouldn't say I abuse it (I tether very little), but I do use every bit I can of my "unlimited" data.

I think he said 100 gigs on his home internet. I am sure I use at least that much, probably more. We have a desktop, three laptops and 2 ipad plus two phones and 2 rokus. I have Verizon Fios Internet with a 50 down 20 up and we do a lot of streaming on our home connection!
On my phone however, I have not gone over 2 GB since wifi is everywhere. I will usually use wifi even if it is in a place where it is slower than LTE. I do not think I have ever streamed over LTE except when making video calls with my kids.
less than 200 MB
haha yah i did so many speedtests when i first got my skyrocket. That was the most i used in one month...1.7GB. There really arent many places i dont have wifi tho so it was surprising to me that i went that high

There is an app that you can set scripts based on time location. Depending what you script it to do depends on you though. For the life of me I cannot think of the app name( found in market). I have tried them before. Neat idea.
I also got throttled first month with skyrocket. Moving to new house...internet wasn't hooked up yet...so if course tether my phone to my PC and create a bridge to cat5 going to supply my Xbox. (No wireless adapter yet]. And downloading movies from demonoid. But not illegally I might add

Heh, I've torrented movies over LTE plenty of times, just to **** with AT&T. xD
I did not realize we need kernel source for this to work!! My apologies. but when kernel SOURCE does drop this will work! So consider this a future plan and if kernel source never drops?! I'll be selling my phone and have a cheap 64 gig usb flash drive for my ps3/comp! loL So I'm good here!
I wasn't happy when reading that the one x has only 16 gb in storage(technically around 11!)I have over gigs backup in titanium alone! so I looked all around and found a solution that is gonna work for me and it will only cost around 40 bucks USD for all parts needed and will give me an extra 64 gigs to have on me all the time!
First your gonna need one of these or something simillar. My plan is too always have this storage either in my truck or pocket ready to go when I need it!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/64GB-TOSHIB...53?pt=US_USB_Flash_Drives&hash=item1c2906d66d
There are alot smaller and lighter drives out there but I wanted cheap and packs alot of storage so this was a good fit for me!
Now in order to access this drive on the fly your gonna need something like this as well or they also have just the fitting without the cord you just gotta look around a little. I prefer having a little bit of cord personally but up to you!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/221018356464?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
and this will pretty much solve my issue of not having enough storage. Both pieces are small and like I said the cord and drive are so small you can keep it in your pockets and the best part is you won't need pc access nor working wifi to be able to get to your files/unicorn porn!
I hope you guys can make this work for you as I'm quite satisfied with this solution and will work with alot of phones not just the one x its just a matter of if you dont mind carrying 2 things in your pocket/vehicle/desk drawer/ass etc all the time!

Like I said especially if you play games? those games sometimes add an extra gig of data after all is said and done.A couple big games and your space is done. I don't personally own a tab just a pc and phone. Don't really see the need for a tab as of right now and can't afford one either!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't we still waiting on the kernal source for the AT&T HOX to enable USB OTG? It might be working by now for the international version but all I've read so far is that OTG isn't (yet) enabled for the AT&T HOX.

I don't want to get ahead of myself, I just want to make sure this will become a reality for our phones.

Well you don't have 16gb you have 9.9 after partitioning. I don't put any music or movies on my phone,I stream those and I've filled this internal card without blinking. A couple of nandroid backups, a rom zip or two, titanium backup backup and pics and vids from a 8mp camera will fill er up fast. This is the worst fail about this phone. C'mon a 32 should've been no question when you don't have add on capabilities.
when I do need to access my huge music library or my movies, and under certain circumstances, I use my seagate 500 gb wireless drive I got for my iPad. http://www.seagate.com/external-hard-drives/portable-hard-drives/wireless/goflex-satellite/. That's if I don't have 4g or wifi available for streaming from my pc.
The jury is still out. We don't yet know if the usb port provides power. I hope it does.

Would powered USB hubs provide a workaround if it doesn't? I did a quick search on the international HOX dev forums for anything USB OTG-related, and found an experimental kernel that required you to connect a powered USB hub in a particular way such that the hub power brick was plugged in near the end of the process. I have no idea how it relates to the AT&T version, but shouldn't the int'l HOX give us some indication of what we can expect from the USB port?

Not sure. We won't know squat until we get source.

LOL wow I feel like an absolute [email protected] now! Time to change the title again or maybe just delete this thread entirely Nah it still may be useful I'll leave it for now but if a mod thinks this is premature or a go nowhere situation??? then by all means feel free to delete it!
It's definitely an interesting solution nonetheless.

Only thing I could think of besides cloud solutions but now theres alot of factors such as if that port is even gonna have enough juice to power peripheral devices/flash drives. I would think it would?? but who the hell knows companys are always out to screw the buyer more and more every day! Plus like I also said even if it doesn't end up working?? you definetly can use that flash drive on other devices and for 50 cents a gig you cant beat that!

So today this app called Locket was just released. Basically it pays you about 1 penny sometimes more for each ad. The ads are not really annoying like those push notifications. How it displays is when you wake up your phone and then it's there on the lock screen. From what i see it's pretty much like deals and big brand names. Check it out, if you're like me you unlock your phone A LOT throughout the day lol. Oh and the best part is you don't have to actually visit the ad since it's already paying you for displaying it on your phone.
Here's the link shortened

Can someone please post the .apk? I'm writing from Iceland...
Is anyone else having it not count for every unlock or just count every once and a while?

It seems to be set to allow you to earn a penny a few times in a specific time period then a wait for a specific time period is set for it to stop displaying 1 penny when that time is up you are able to receive a few cents until you do so many times within a set time then it just loops

3 cents per hour. Pays out in PayPal at the moment, but in future updates, it might be Amazon/Google Play cards (My guess anyway).
They're thinking of other ways to display ads, so far they're saying that they don't want to go the notifications route.
I've made $0.56 so far. They said they give out bonuses sometimes too. I think I already got a $0.10 one.
Here is my ref.

Well hot digity dog.... I can quit my day job!!!
If this is legit I doubt it will last long nor will anyone make much money.I am sure there is a limit on the unlocks per day and not worth it.
Next here comes the guy who makes an app where your lockscreen blinks on and off constantly......See where all this is going???,,,,,,wont be going very far thats for sure. Save yourself some time and move on, most likely a scam anyways.
EDIT: Well I will eat my words, I guess its legit. You just need an app to unlock your phone screen three times per hour , 24 hours a day to make $262.80 over the course of a year,
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2422013,00.asp
I hope it will be released on worldwide.. it not available in my country yet.. this will be awesome when it comes out in worldwide.
Ps.. there is a whaff that could pay you when you download/watch ads on there app

They've already said that they can easy oust people for trying to sign up multiple times. And obviously, they also have your IP address among other stuff. I am a part of so many survey groups and stuff. They aren't going to catch you right away, but they're going to hit you the MOMENT you try and cash out.
They can do it the way AT&T does it... They can see whether or not you have a tethering app by just having one of their apps installed. Hence a lot of people get caught tethering sooner or later by just having the myAT&T app installed. These guys can tell whether you have Tasker or similar installed and if it's running.
Need locket-beta apk file
Hey guys,
I'm from India and I'd love to try this app. I've tried changing my Billing address in Google Wallet to be able to download this app but I still cannot. I'm now being charged in USD for purchases instead of INR but this app still shows as incompatible with any of my devices. Also, I've tried using Market Enabler but that hasn't worked either. Can someone upload the apk for me please?
Thanks,
Mahesh
Nevermind, I just found it on another thread. Just in case someone else needs it. It's here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43800419
Just installed it on my N7.
Seems to work so far, but haven't tried to withdraw any cash yet!
Didn't have to do any VPN or market enabling. As long as you know a genuine US zip code, I reckon it will let you sign up, and they are easy enough to find.

Where theres a will theres a way Get xPrivacy app and they cant tell anything about whats on ur phone its none of their business anyways. Root, install Xposed, Install xPrivacy, and tell it what apps u want to restrict & want to stop them from seeing.

I've got it running on my Nexus 7, and I'm in the UK. Up to 12 cents so far
Downloaded the apk from the link at the top of this page, and I just registered with a US zip code (90210).
So today I went ahead an opened a Bank of America account so I could try Samsung pay.
Initial setup: Initial setup is a pain, you have to call BoA after you open the account and answer 4 obscure questions from your "credit check".
Usage: I've used the card 3 times now. I've discovered you want to scan your finger print after the machine is waiting for the card. If you scan your fingerprint before the swipe card, you can actually crash the POS machine. So today I crashed a local gasstation POS.
If anyone has any questions, shoot away.

Has anyone else experienced this or can emulate the results?
I have not experienced this. I got my account working yesterday but have had mixed results. It worked using NFC at McDonald's, but I haven't been able to get the MST to work, it failed at Starbucks and a local frozen yogurt place.
I feel like such an idiot when it doesn't work, with the cashier looking at me like "why are you putting your phone next to where I swipe a card?"
I've had mixed results so far. When it works, it works great! I have found that while it may work at some places, there are some lime 7-11 that it doesn't. I get declined at 7-11

I've been using samsung pay at different locations using the MST technology and it all work's just fine. When I say MST I mean places that's don't even have NFC terminals. So far loving Samsung Pay
I use it with the nfc off. Only mst everywhere. I find its has worked everywhere but one of the two 711s I've been to, and the Starbucks I frequent.
It seems when ever I use it where there is no nfc, the cashier is always sooo curious. Prolly deal with apple pay users everyday throwing a fit they don't have the technology yet.
I agree. Sooooo embarrassing when it doesn't work. I also try not to use it where the scanner is on the POS systems behind the counter(like starbucks).

Does samsung pay automatically turn on nfc when you scan your fingerprint? can you use it without having nfc turn on and just rely on MST?

Yes, you can use it without NFC on, but only if you are using the MST type of transaction.
Has anyone that had Samsung Pay had to do an exchange and gotten Samsung Pay back on the new device?
I had to exchange my note 5 and I thought maybe because it was link to my account I would still have it but I don't.
I guess I have to go through the whole process again, but I don't even see the link live for new testers

Thanks, that's a flashable zip, but I'm not rooted yet.
Ok people! (sorry for all caps just wanna get my message across).... For everyone having issues with it at like starbucks and 7-11....what i've found out that works for me is to run it as "credit"... Don't use it as debit.... I think it confuses the pos somehow? Give it a try!

Yes but the apk is inside the zip in the app\SasungPayStub folder. I haven't ran stock in a long time but I thought you can use a file explorer and sideload the apk can't you? You need to make sure that Unknown sources is turned on in your Lock screen and security settings.

I got declined at first at 711 but that was cause the person behind the register canceled payment when I put phone up cause he didn't know that SSP works with their old system. I told him it works and he set it to pay again and he was mind blown

I contacted SP about this, and they told me they wouldn't be updating any IMEIs anymore because it was so close to the launch date. Sucks, but we just have to wait until Monday (12am PDT I'm told).

Yeah true, didn't realize it's supposed to launch in Monday. Guess I'll wait lol. That's probably what the new update is about, to be able to get Samsung Pay easier to the masses.
Thx for the heads up
what sucks is that even though when it was announced chase was suppose to be a partner i dont see any info anywhere that backs it up anymore. very limited in terms of what cards can be used.
