I am on cyanogenos version YoGDAS2K1. I have lost my device information shown in the details of the snaps taken. This was lost only in a day. My bacon is rooted, Tried wiping system and flashin it again.
I have posted this issue in Jira CyanogenMod and all they say is "TWRP 2.8.6.1 and 2.8.7.0 are specifically know to not flash Cyanogen OS and CyanogenMod files on bacon properly." Can anyone please tell something about this
If your TWRP version is either of the above then it's not gonna flash the ROM firmwares properly, it's a known bug.
Use this exact version of TWRP to flash your ROM (unofficial TWRP 2.8.6.0.6 by kumajaya): androidfilehost.com/?fid=23991606952609056

I am on scanno twrp 2.6.3.0 modified(first twrp created for kitkat if I'm not mistaken) and on Cm11 rom edition from 4 february...and I want to update to M7...I understand i should update TWRP to the latest version...is there any way to do this by installing a zip through the Twrp I'm on right now or I have to follow again the tutorial through androidemulator?
You can totally update your recovery by flashing a .zip in your current one.
Here is a newer version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2691886
Be sure to check if you have a correct bootloader.
EDIT: I just went through the thread I linked and looks like you got your answer already
Are there any CM12 builds (or variants) for OnePlus that are compatible with MultiROM? I got so confused reading how to flash Temasek's version that I gave up. There was one that was compatible and it worked until the latest firmware was released. Just wondering if MultiROM is worth it for CM12 builds?
Thanks in advance.

I tried to flash latest nightly with MultiROM, result is bootloop for CM12.
You can make CM12 as primary ROM and keep KitKat based ROMs as secondary
(Clean flash is needed for above statement)

I was able to do this.
I used the following workaround:
1) Install MultiROM
2) Backup your primary ROM
3) Flash the Lollipop ROM as primary ROM
4) Backup the Lollipop ROM
5) Restore the backup of your CM11S? ROM
6) In the TWRP recovery go to MultiROM -> add ROM -> from backup
7) Enjoy!
I'd like to include a link where i found this but unfortunately I can't (I need 10 posts). I do know that it is the first/second link if you google this: [WORKAROUND - MULTIROM] How to avoid "error executing updater binary in zip"
But if you're interested PM me.
No need to do any of those swapping ROM things anymore
Search keyword multirom in the temasek thread and you will find multirom edited ROMs that you can add and they will work. Just make sure you install the multirom app from play store and update to the latest on your primary ROM if there are any updates.
Only requirement is that your primary ROM needs to have a custom kernel. You can flash ak kernel on your primary. Make sure you get the right version for whatever ROM is your primary. Or your can simply install the kernel from within multirom app if you don't care about custom features with custom kernels and that will work also

Hey, I'm trying to install TWRP Custom Recovery on my OPO, which is 5.0.2 with stock CM12s.
Now if I recall correctly, the .zip file of my CM11s installation had 'Bacon' on it ( The nickname of 11s version perhaps? ), and the TWRP download is also called 'Bacon', so I just want to make sure this is also supposed to work on my CM12s.
In other words, is the TWRP download link given at their website compatible with my device ( 5.0.2 & Stock CM12s ).
sorry for my dumbness, I'm just not too good with those things.

Bacon is the codename for this device, so yes you have the right one. You need to approach the install a little differently than usually on CM12S though, see the last question in the FAQ thread:

If you want to switch to a completely different ROM, you will have to do the wipes in recovery then flash the new ROM. If you want to flash an update of the same ROM you have then you don't need the wipes, you can just flash the update without wiping, this is called "dirty flashing". Dirty flash usually only works when flashing an update of the same ROM that you have.

What do you mean the latest CM14.1 update?
NitrogenOS and CM 14.1 ARE BOTH custom ROMs, they are NOT firmwares. Some devices were manufactured and sold with CyanogenMod as the stock firmware but CM is still predominately a custom android operating system.
And, as I said, if the update is an update to the exact same ROM as what is already installed, then all you have to do is flash it without doing any kind of wipes(this can even be done when updating stock via OTA, it's actually recommended to not do the wipes when updating stock via OTA). For example, if you have CM13 and want to update to CM14, or if you have CM14 and want to update to CM14.1 or if you have CM14.1 but want to flash a newer CM14.1 update, understand yet?
BUT!!!!
If you have some other ROM(something other than a version CM) currently installed but want to update to CM instead of what you have then you would have to factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache before flashing.
Let's make this simple since you can't seem to make sense of what I'm telling you. Tell me what you currently have installed and what you want to update to.

Hello,
I am currently using Nitrogen OS for Redmi note 3. I have flashed the firmware and installed the OS according to the procedures. I run nougat(7.1.2) on my Mob

You have nitrogen OS installed on your android and if you want to install update of nitrogen OS then no need of wiping.
If you want to change to different rom ( nitrogenOS to CM) then you need to first wiping/factory resetting or clearing dalvik and cache.
So, you are changing your rom then wipe/factory reset first and then flash CM. That what @Droidriven trying to say you.
Again you are confused. ROMs like Nitrogen runs on CM firmware ( or you can call it architecture). It's not the OS again, It regarding firmware. please someone help me on this I dont want my phone to get bootlooped or any other sort of issue. FYI : I don't want CM ROM/OS. I want Nitrogen itself but want to upgrade to the latest firmware. Please check the link i had provide before replying

This is making sense now. You see, you are the one confused. You aren't asking the right question because you don't understand the difference.
You aren't looking for the "CM firmware", this does not even exist. This implies that the firmware was created by CM. It wasn't made by CM, it does not contain CM in it so it can't be called "CM FIRMWARE", it's a STOCK FIRMWARE that is COMPATIBLE with USING CM and other custom ROMs.
What you are looking for is the "stock firmware" that needs to be on your device BEFORE using CM13/14/14.1/AOSP Nougat ROMs.
The thread that you linked basically explains that if you want to use any kind of custom 7.0/7.1/7.1.1 Nougat ROMS then you need to flash this updated STOCK FIRMWARE in order for the device to be able to use those custom ROMs. It is not "CM FIRMWARE"
You're looking for the STOCK FIRMWARE that is compatible with CM and other nougat ROMs.
The thread that you linked explains what you need to know and how to do it, it says that you flash the updated firmware via TWRP and factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik when you flash it.
If you are looking for a newer update than the one in that thread then you'll have to find it in a TWRP flashable .zip. If there is not a TWRP flashable zip to apply the new update then the only way to flash the new update is to flash it via PC then root the device again, install TWRP again and then flash your NitrogenOS ROM again.

I just explained what you needed to do, did you read it? It is simple, are you even reading the thread that you linked? What you are asking is irrelevant, just do what it says to do in the steps below.
1) Boot to TWRP
2) Flash the updated firmware via TWRP
3) Factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik
4) Flash NitrogenOS
5)reboot, enjoy.

Recently I decided to play around with my retired xiaomi 4c which I bought in 2016/2017.
Firstly, I unlocked my phone and installed TWRP recovery. (the version I installed is twrp-3.1.1-0-libra), the link I used is here: https://dl.twrp.me/libra, the reason why I did not install version 3.1.1-1 is that It won't load in recovery mode.
Secondly, I tried to install lineage 14.1, 15.1,16.1, 17.1 (none of them worked), It gave me this error
E3004 the packge is for device 4c,libra, this device is .
After searching on google, I deleted the first line (the assert statement) in META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script.
I guess it managed to be installed (no error pop out).
the log displayed while it is installing:
detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system
packing system image unconditionally
However, when I click boot to system, it stuck on the mi logo.
I need some suggestions on how to make this work.
Thanks in advance!
Flash the latest available official miui (currently V10.1.1.0), via mi flash tools
Flash twrp or orangefox, via ADB. twrp official site has an old version, androidfilehost has a newer version TWRP-20190528-3.3.1.0-libra. orangefox official site has taken down libra files but sourceforge has OrangeFox -R10.0-1-Stable-libra.
Then try again
I experienced "this device is ." problem before.
From I read somewhere in XDA, sometimes a ROM may require certain recovery images to flash. So if the image is published with some recovery, you may want to try them together.
The last time I flashed my mi4c successfully, the LineageOS build and TWRP are both from this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-android-8-9-10-unofficial-lineageos-for-mi-4c-mi-4s.4008625/ .
Good luck

Any idea how to fix this?
Try the boot image included in this build package and post your findings in that thread for assistance.
