after making everyone beg and playing games you've finally done it.
it's a community and people share. so well done for finally just letting it go and not drawing the process out any longer (nobody likes a gloater after all lol) . it would have been just easier had you just done it in the first place instead of being silly about it lol

Unfortunately I think this will only run on a G900F variant successfully due to the kernel. It woud be a G900F specific kernel, so some other variants might not work at all, and others may find issues. For example, a G900I user may get away with testing it, but features like NFC will not work like what happens with Lollipop firmwares.
I think I'll wait until an official 6.x comes out before I make any ROMs based on it, this is obviously an early beta.

as someone who makes roms is it a good thing to get a beta for testing purpose so you essentially get a head start for when the official version comes out? for tinkering and messing about this so to speak?
or is it really just not worth it until a complete version is out?

Downloading right now. Thanks for sharing even though it took you a long time to get this haha

On g900f BPA2 - bootloop. After reboot using power button + volume down it shows upgrading screen and on 273th app reboots itself. So I think it won't boot without proper bootloader.

restored this on G900T and is bootloop. gets to the flashing samsung logo but stuck there

@geiti94 can you look this and make work?

You need to have 6.0.1 to bootloader to boot it. Ot useless without it..

Isn't the bootloader in the boot.img? If not how to backup it?
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app

Unfortunately the boot.img contains the kernel. The bootloader in my knowledge is impossible to extract from the phone. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only way to obtain the bootloader to is to take it from a stock firmware.

Flashfire allows to backup the bootloader but it does not work yet on samsung mm and it requires root... has anyone an easy solution to extract it?

first of all, great to see the Dump here. Finally Lets wait a few more days for the BL and THEN lets try it out

noo, we need to speed up, we need marshmallow on our s5 )) just kidding

I tried restoring it from TWRP but I was stuck on boot loop. I even performed a full wipe.

Can someone please try and extract some apps, sounds, wallpapers etc. ?
At least we can see if they are the same as on LP.
Thank you.

update via kies to 4.0.4 if rooted happen?

do i need to return to stock unrooted to try update via kies or the update via kies if the tablet is rooted and in 4.0.3 happen and only i will lose root ? and will the update via kies if found will appear in it or i will have to return to stock unrooted for it to appear ? in other words do rooting affect update via kies to 4.0.4 in any way or i can update via kies safely and all that happens to me is to lose root ? i do not need ota update i only need kies update
I too am trying to upgrade my Tab 2 7" and my Tab 10.1 to ICS 4.0.4. Both tablets are rooted so I need to either un-root back to stock recovery or flash the new upgrade OS directly. Anyone able to help?
Unable to update with Recovery installed
I have CWM 5.5.0.4 recovery installed and I can't install updates.
Any solutions?
You can grab the new update in the respective tablet development forum and flash it through Odin. The Tab 2 7 has one I just saw that's stock/rooted, most likely the 10.1 has one, too. I had to go back to stock recovery to update. through Kies.

The only Tab2 7 and Tab 10.1 ROMs I can find are those by ROMWELL which are not truly stock and don't use stock recovery. If you have found something else I have not been able to find in my searching I would appreciate a link. Thanks.

Agreed, I would love a truly stock version of the LG5 or the new one that just came out.
This way when JB does come, I can simply flash this bad boy with Odin to stock and upgrade it to JB

I mean I figure I download all the parts, extract it, and flash the firmware part with Odin (correct? I am still getting used to all the software I use and how to use it, so excuse the stupidity )
What do I do with the kernel? Do I need the kernel file? If I am currently stock rooted on LG5, did the kernel change? For that matter when we get JB, if the kernel changes, what do I do?
Isn't the kernel the core to the device, if that is the wrong one, doesn't it brick in some way? Or am I over simplifying things? Or 100% wrong all together (sorry again for being a moron still learning all this stuff).

Yes, You could extract the archive and flash the (.md5) File via ODIN or Mobile ODIN Pro! (Which i prefer)
The STOCK kernel is included just in case you have a modded kernel, And want the STOCK kernel back!
Not sure about one, But i imagine if you where to flash the wrong file or even the wrong way you would get unwanted error's and possibly SOFT brick it or HARD brick it....
Ok good so I am learning something by being here!

Good to know I am well on my way to being smarter than the avg noob! Now that brings me to my next question, you mentioned Mobile Odin, I thought I read somewhere that if you use it, it doesn't increase the flash counter, first off, how the hell does it work? How do you make a device rewrite itself? How does it not trip the counter for that matter?
Good to know I don't need the kernel, since I was sitting here really confused on why you had included that. I haven't changed my kernel, and I never will touch that (unless a ROM like CM does that since I am thinking about flashing that if JB doesn't get here soon lol). So I just need the firmware part, and all will be good with Odin.
Since I backed up my device after rooting it, I have a rooted stock back up so thank you for giving us a clean stock as back up Do firmware upgrades ever leak from Sammy like on some of the others? Like Moto for example, they had ICS leaking left and right (thats what happens when you dont freeze them! ). Just curious what the odds were of that happening.
PS sorry to the OP for kind of hijacking this, I hope I am helping you at least with my question asking!

I didn't need the details of it lol I don't expect everyone here to know everything about everything, just an overview, since to me it doesn't make sense. I am curious if I should be using that instead of PC odin as well, which is why I was hoping to get more information about how the 2 differ since from the description in the store, there is no difference lol and thats just not possible.
So things do leak? Since Moto had build leaks weeks in advance of the ICS release for the Razr for example (I have a Razr, hate the battery life as a side though, get a Maxx if anything). So I was wondering do they do Soak Tests on tablets with Sammy? How do you apply for one? How often is there a leak of a new build? Since if JB is coming soon, there should be leaks coming out for it shouldn't there?

Their is difference!, ODIN (PC Version) Requires you to install it (And some drives....I think) On your PC and run it and connect your device via USB to your PC and flash it....Mobile ODIN is an app (.apk) You install on your device and flash it directly from the app! LEAKS just come when the come!
I knew that much!

Since I had read that about the flash counter, Modin is easier than the PC wersion? Hmmmm.... but you can't use it unless your rooted, so how would that work? Don't you have to trip the counter to be able to use it? Or did I trip it because I didn't know any better?
BTW we are horribly off topic on the thread, if you want to msg me, please do, I don't wanna turn this into a different thread than what it was. Even though I have already lol

[ROMS] Pre-Rooted I9505 Odin Flashable Packages!

I am currently implementing an alternate method of Rooting which I have found to be successful by means of Pre-Rooting the system.img.ext4 file. I have already released Pre-Rooted ROMs for previous models and wanted to continue this development for the Galaxy S4.
Why use this Root Method? Well the main reasons are:
- You have a complete Odin Flashable ROM Package.
- No Insecure Kernels are used or required.
- You can flash these packages on Non-Rooted devices
- The Binary Flash Counter will NOT increase when flashing these ROM Packages.
- And finally, you only have to flash one file in Odin and you have a complete firmware including Root Permissions.
What Root Package is used in these ROMs?
- Busybox 1.20.2 (Newer ROMs)
- SuperSU 1.51 (Newer ROMs)
Previously released ROMs may have an older Busybox and SuperSU package installed.
Please Note: This Root Method does not include a Custom Recovery. This is for people who only require Root Permissions. If you do require a Custom Recovery, you will need to flash this yourself separately.

I have my own scripts to fully automate the process and I modify the system image directly and not on the device to ensure a fully clean flashable package. I will be releasing the scripts tomorrow. I have looked at the thread you mentioned and it seems that guy has copied my layout format in some respects and changed it slightly. I have been pre-rooting rooms since the galaxy s2 so it isn't exactly a world premiere! Lol! Here are my sources and please check the thread creation dates so you know I create my own work!

Couple of questions. Is the firmware 1 or 3 part and as it a wipe rom?
I ask because I would really like to keep my apps and data without having to restore either though titanium or cwm, and if it's a 3 part is like to flash without csc to retain my current one.

I've just got myself an S4 on EE (UK) and have been trawling all the threads to catch up on what's going on. (I've been stuck with an Atrix 4G for 2 years!)
Perfectly happy with the stock ROM but just really want to get that Root going too.

Hello people, I am new to Samsung, I usually just buy a used phone to circumvent any void warranty issues (as they are cheaper I sort of self insure myself, I only got the desire new and I rooted it on the 2nd day ). My SGS4 is arriving on Tuesday and it will be new with warranty.
Could you please confirm that there is absolutely no chance what so ever to void the warranty by flashing a pre-rooted rom. I would be quite happy to use the stock rom as long as it is rooted.
I've always used HardSPL, official or unofficial (when available) S-OFF and root on my previous HTC devices and I have never ever bricked a phone.
Thank you for your help
Did you get any further with this at all? I've held off rooting for the moment but if it's going to be a while longer I will just go for it with the current one.
XXUDMI1 KNOX WARRANTY VOID - 0x1
Hi,
I am wondering if you have managed to get a worked around with your scripts of the issue that is related to "KNOX WARRANTY VOID - 0x1" in all the newer ROMs. it yes, then how I safely root my I9505 without voiding the "KNOX WARRANTY:
Thanks for your reply.
No sorry, this Knox stuff is way outta my depth. Its very secure.

I'm not sure. Haven't used. It's for i337z users to revert to stock or hopefully for am advanced Dev to provide a root method for them.

There is not root for 4.4 yet. I don't doubt it will be out in the next 1 or 2 months
So, has anyone upgraded this to Kit-Kat yet? I don't think we'll ever see it from AIO.
So the aio variant for sure has a locked bootloader?

Don't know for sure. It came with MH1. Is there any way to tell that won't cause a brick?
off hand I don't know but I'm gonna look around. I'm on aio but have the at&t version I've been wanting to sell mine and get a different version.
Wow, just got a software update notice for 4.4.2. Of course I'm afraid to even try to install it. I don't want to lose root. I'm just shocked to even see it.

Do you have root? I know there's a way to download and grab the zip from the phone if you have root. Otherwise the other method you suggested may work.
EDIT: Root method is easier as you just download, use file manager to get it from /cache, and then you can upload it for others. I don't know which root methods do and don't work for your device however. Logcat can be done, you'll just be looking through a lot of lines of logs possibly.

its true what you say, i have been trying logcat but it shows a ton of lines, and im searching for the hotword .zip or zip or update and no results give me a URL, maybe samsung is cloaking the update from logcat or they found a way to hide it, in my phone the root i know it works is kingo root, but when im rooted the phone does not let me download the update, it says "your phone has been modified, updates are not available"

Try installing Xposed Framework and Wanam Xposed, and use the fake Official system status option. I think that might fix it but I don't remember all it checks.

If you used CF Auto Root to root and then install Philz (for recovery purposes, not rooting) you should be fine.
I can't recommend another root solution because I haven't tested it.
flashed the sprint full restore been running it for about four hours now and it runs smooth everything opens so far camera works ,flashed cf auto root from the post link and got a full system fail
i reflashed rom in oden
love so far ,,,,,great work dog keep up the good work!!

I don't yet, even my go-to app (https://sites.google.com/site/wifitetherrouter/home) is not working on defaults.
The majority of apps/mods will have to be updated to run on the new platform being that it's so new. Hopefully the Hotspot mod will be sooner than later

I wiped with phil 2x, loaded stock nk4 rom, then odin 3.07 this release, I got a pass in odin however my phone is displaying Recovery Booting on the samsung galaxy s5 screen and will not move... I think it may have bricked the device. I cannot get it to boot to download mode either..... Is there hope or should I visit the sprint store

I find that complicated unless you have a Lilli pop kernel. Good luck though not doubting you. If there was a kernel source I would at least get it booting on note 3 I'm sure
Do my phone have to be unrooted for me to do it or I can download the extract file and open it in download more

FlashFire Works

I just confirmed FlashFire works with our rooted S6. I successfully made a system backup and flashed a boot animation zip. For more info about FlashFire and how to get it go here. Please thank and support @Chainfire for his work.

No, Knox is still good. It really shouldn't trip it because it doesn't mess with the bootloader at all.

I'm new to Samsung coming from HTC...with flashfire will we be able to flash debloated TW roms (assuming there were any for VZW)? I've seen that anything with the kernel we'd need an unlocked BL, but as far as TW roms go, we should be able to right?

I flashed a zip yesterday so I would think a properly made ROM would flash. I did try one yesterday but it didn't flash. I'm pretty sure it was a updater script error on my part. I haven't had the time to look into it further. As for our kernel we will have to use the stock one.

Search my friend. It will have to be the same format as the attached one here. This one is from the S5 without the red Verizon screen, just flash it with FlashFire.

Ever have any luck? Some of the ROMs over in the international S6 thread look pretty nice. With the M8 we were able to get international ROMs ported over, but I'm in a new world with Samsung and flashing ROMs without TWRP.

It's not going too good on my end. I'm sick of Odining back to stock. I must have done it about a dozen times after various failed mods. I'm pretty much calling it quits until a better recovery becomes available. FlashFire restore doesn't work for me so when a mistake is maid I have to go back to stock. Hopefully there will be some updates to make this more reliable. I'm OK with the few mods available and debloating for now.

Just out of curiosity are you trying to port roms already made for other devices? If so I would assume that the kernel on your locked phone cannot work with the system.img in the ported rom. What you could do is find a rom that is stock rooted only, no other mods or lightly modded and grab that script. From there download the verizon s6 system, extract it and add the su stuff then wrap all that in a zip. The permissions and symlinks should be close enough to get you booted and if it boots you can start working out all of the bugs
Sorry if you already tried all that, just want to help if I can.
*Edit*
Almost forgot Im sure you figured this out already but you would need to edit the boot out of the installer script
*Double edit*
Here is a non aroma rom for your installer script. He is planning on implementing aroma so you might want to grab it asap

misterxtc has helped me develop roms for the vzw s5 as well as his own roms. were not a+ devs by any means but we do have experience with it.. the rom created was im sure from his own build from the stock base rom for the vzw s6.
the vzw s5 also has a locked BL so we are very aware that you can only use roms compatible with the stock BL and kernel.. Flashfire does not appear to flash the BL or kernel at all but also cannot write the whole system without the kernel.
it has been tried multiple times by him and myself on my s6 edge and each time results in having to odin back to stock and start over.
We also both talked to hsbadr and his multisystem unfortunately does not work for us since we have no ext sd card.

I'm building from scratch with the stock tar. I did get one to boot but no luck deodexing it. I've got both aroma and kitchen ROMs to flash and boot but had some minor issues with superSU. I haven't had the mind to concentrate on much lately. We had to put down our 13 year old German Shepherd yesterday so I'm pretty tore up from that.
