ruu flashing failed - HTC One E8

hey guys [my device [HTC One E8] , [Taiwan M8sx],[Single Sim][mec_ul][CID HTC_621][OPAJ31000]
unfortunetly while using twrp i lost my os(advance wipe)
then i have seen this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-e8/help/htc-one-e8-mid-cid-ruu-ota-twrp-t2903210
at that time ,i dont know how to flash a rom through adb sideloader or fastboot, so i have download twrp backup of [Singapore][sSingle][M8sx][mec_ul][HTC__044;HC__059] [0PAJ31000] kitkat version ,since their is no backup available for [Taiwan M8sx],[Single Sim] it worked well but the main problem is im not getting any update since that time.
recently i came to know how to flash through adb then downloaded the RUU file and placed it in adb folder then i gave
adb sideload ruu.zip command then it is showing CANT READ
and i have tried fastboot aslo by giving fastboot flash zip ruu.zip this command its showing the file is too large (only 1.7 gb can flash by this process)
now i dunno wtd
any one please solve my problem
if any one have clean twrp backup of taiwan m8sx please give me the link

[HOWTO] HTC Explorer - Install RUU

Reason for this guide:
I have tried to go back to RUU and doing this with the RUU applications didn't work, the installation always failed. Because of that I was a bit afraid never to be able to get back to stock / RUU again
steps I did - i'm not sure if step 2 and 3 are necessary, but for me it worked like this
!!!DO NOT RELOCK the bootloader before Step 4 - this will brick your phone!!!
1. download RUU for your device here (check your radio at top the bootloader menu)
2. extract the RUU rom from RUU application
start the ruu application, even if it fails. also start the flashing process, nothing will happen here. search for the ruu logs, for me at c:\ruu_log. in the log (for me in line 191) is the path to the rom.zip that should get flashed. something in temp folder... for me the line looks like this:
"<T093343><DEBUG><CMD>fastboot -s HT1BMVMXYZ flash zip C:\users\raangu\AppData\Local\Temp\{1235}\{12345}\rom.zip</CMD></DEBUG></T093343>"
3. flash the needed images
in the rom.zip you will find a boot_signed.img, a system.img and a recovery_signed.img. flash all these images with fastboot.
In command line:
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
4. relock the bootloader
In command line:
fastboot oem lock
5. install with RUU application
now run the RUU application again and follow the instructions.
You are back on RUU now!
Thankyou
"3. flash the needed images

fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img"
can u explain better this part...?? what does it mean "flash all these images with fastboot..??
P.S: i don't have any ROM.ZP file in my local\temp\ directory......only an empty directory....
What is your DeviceID?
I've the vodafone brand and the DevideID is "VODAP034".
I tried this guide to change ID but not work:

Any ideas?

Thank you Raangu and jaggyjags for doing awesome job here.
I've questions regarding to RUU, if I want to flash RUU other then my device's Radio version or flash older RUU then my device's stock Rom,
will these brick my phone?

Hi agv983,
with "flash all these images with fastboot" I mean the lines below:
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
so you dont flash these things with cwm or something else. you do it with fastboot in command line.
did you take a look in the ruu_log? the path is written there.

try this instead
1. Download the RUU.
2. Open the RUU exe file, and proceed until you get to the page which says 'View Readme'. At that point, stop.
3. Go to your TEMP folder (on Windows 7 it'll be something like : C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp
4. Look for folders that have lots of characters in that format: "{XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXX}". One of the folders will contain two files, and another folder with the same "{XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXX}" format. Open that folder.
5. In there, you will see either rom.zip or firmware.zip (depending on the device).
It says when trying to flash system.img,, date length too large
help me please
help me please
i don't understand this step
---- 2. extract the RUU rom from RUU application----
where i can find the RUU application??
PS: my phone is: HTC EXPLORER with jaggyrom, and i'd return to my stock rom.
i've downloaded my stock rom following this discussion--- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569430
because your download link page wasn't running to me, but i think that roms are the same.
thnx
A total successful unrooting and reverting to stock
Warning dont flash any other rom before this step in order to retain factory status you have to maintain the default rom on which rooting was done
for those who want to revert to stock from jaggy or any other make a clockwork backup of your stock rom even if it is rooted
Step 1 : if you have messed up in previous posts by our friend dont be alarmed
make sure you have clockwork mod of your original rom backed up in sd card or in the computer copied from sd card
to do this go to the recovery option choose backup and restore in this select restore and select the backup you did with your stock rom
Step 2 : download these files ( also noted in my system the android sdk was in c drive root as c:\Android else make a fresh installation of the android sdk ) GIVEN BELOW AT THE END OF POST
Step 3 : on c drive paste these files in c:\Android ( if file not there in pc install sdk in this folder ) now open cmd from start menu
Step 4 : Execute commands
cd c:\Android
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
(fastbooting system .img mentioned in previous post is not required as it will conflict with the hboot and it too tiresome to get the sock back)
Final step : now with the stock boot and recovery of htc default signed just restart your cell phone and got to settings > storage >factory reset
Ta da your phone is unrooted now for the grand finale lock the HBOOT
execute command : fastboot oem lock
to lock the boot loader
now it will show relocked now at this stage if you got your factory default ruu matched with the software version of your phone in my case it was
V1.31.728.1
then flash that ruu and vola your phone is crystal clear no hboot relocked or no rooting ever shown.
Try it and press thanks if liked
I dont get this, sorry...
I have stock scandinavian rom on my Explorer, and I want to flash an european rom instead.
Ive go the European RUU, but for gods sake I cant get it installed...
I dont want to brick my girlfriends phone, its 1 month old, and I dont want to fiddle with too much.
Is there any way to simply flash the RUU with the bootloader?

[Q] HTC One S 1.53.169.3 RUU (CID VODAP120) Austria

I'm searching for the original RUU for my branded HTC One S 1.53.169.3 with CID VODAP120. I semi-bricked it while trying to flash the vanilla modaco rom. I had a nandroid backup of my stock rom and reverted to stock. when the restore process was done i got a bootloop and couldn't mount /sdcard/ from cwm anymore. so i restored stock recovery over fastboot and relocked the bootloader and tryed to restore my device with the 1.53.401.2 unbranded RUU by editing the android_info.txt and adding my cid in the rom.zip but i am still getting error 132 (signature error) because there still isn't a possibility to s-off the one s. My only hope is to find the original branded One S RUU 1.53.169.3. I would be pleased if someone could upload the RUU. Thanks
its not possible to mount the sdcard in cwm. boot your phone in to recovery and
adb push yourrom.zip /sdcard
Try this rom: http://files.virtuousrom.com/ville/roms/Virtuous_Ville_v.1.4.0_PROPER.zip
maybe this will fix your bootloop. if not try this:
Start the RUU
- in windows type %TEMP%
- search for rom.zip
- extract it
- cmd to this folder
- fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
restart your phone. Maybe this helps!
i'm always getting device not found in adb shell. the boot_signed.img is already on the device. still stuck in boot
install the usb driver from android sdk
my htc drivers are installed and i've tried now a coupe of times to install the android usb drivers and i am always getting drivers not match message
also having red triangle in recovery. should i try to unlock bootloader and install cwm recovery and try adb again?

Try to find the executive file of ROM (.exe) and run it to reflash your phone from PC. That the way I did with my One X, hope that will help. Remember to relock the phone before flashing.

i tried it but it failed because of image version of the latest Rom Update Utility( 1.08.1400.6 ) which is lower than my phone image version(1.10.1400.1.).
maybe you can go to htc service center and get them flash it back for you, they won't charge you anything (in my country), just say you don't know what happen...

If you have the RUU.exe file (as you said), lets try :
- run the exe file.
- when the installation preperation process completed , keep the process wait there and find the temperature rom extracted somewhere in PC.
- copy the rom to other place.
- find the boot.img and recovery.img in firmware.zip file (in the zip rom that you just have)
- unlock your phone.
- press volume down + power to go to bootloader.
- connect phone to PC and use fastboot to flash boot.img file.
- continue to flash recovery.img
- relock the phone by fastboot oem lock
- flash rom.zip by fastboot.
Hope that could help. That is the way I did for my friend One X+.

So, the problem should be HBoot version, I guested. You may try to search and find if there are any solutions to re-install Hboot, otherwise, send your phone to HTC service center is last solution you should do.
Unbrick htc x920e
hi everyone i finally succeed to unbrick my htc butterfly. Thx for all the support u guys brought to this post.
This is how i did it:
1. boot in recovery mode and wipe eveything (factory reset, cache, dalvik-cache and system)
2. Flash any x920e custom rom :
In my case i couldnt mount the sdcard from the recovery so i select the option "Install zip from sideload " instead of "Install zip from sdcard" abd and i used ADB Toolkit GUI Shell (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800335) to flash the custom rom.
Once in sideload mode u can use this command to flash the custom rom:
Code:
adb sideload rom_name.zip
After the phone reboot it was still stucked at the boot logo so i proceeded to step 3
3.Reboot in bootloader and put the phone in "fastboot USB" mode
4. Open the custom rom zip file and extract the "boot.img"
5. Use the command shell to flash the extracted boot.img using this command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
6.Reboot

[need help] asus zc520kl [x00hd] any working rom with twrp

Update/Solved:
Currently the only way for people who deleted their OS completely in this phone model X00HD/ZC520KL is to restore the official firmware.
You can ask for a backup recovery folder in XDA Forums ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/zen...help?nocache=1) if you do not have made a backup with people who have the same phone model. You must have TWRP previously installed and bootloader unlocked. Flashing the official firmware via .zip files is not working with twrp, you must restore the folder. After having the files needed, your recovery folder will not appear on the RESTORE section so follow this simple tutorial to make it appear there (https://youtu.be/trlG3ZxwQxI)
This method will bring your phone back to life if you're stuck in TWRP Recovery Mode with "No OS installed". This method is working and it's the only way for you to use your phone again until developers create custom ROM's for this model.

Thanks for the attention. I already tried tons of ROM's including the official one for this phone. I keep getting Error Number 7. Sometimes when I force an installation editing the uptader-script file it seems everything is working fine, but at the end of the ROM flash process the phone reboots and goes back to TWRP like everything had never happened. I have never seen a successful feedback, just the "Failed" message or a unexpected reboot that goes back to TWRP.
I don't know what do you mean with unlocking bootloader as I have no ROM installed and always I turn ON my phone I go to TWRP automatically. My TWRP version is 3.1.1.

Not working, as I said before, I've already tried to solve this Error. Either 3 things happen: the installation seems to be running good but at some point the device automatically reboots to it's original condition of TWRP (Liniage OS flash and after editing the file to solve Error Number 7 + I get a message saying "Invalid zip format" (Official Asus Firmware flash after editing the file to solve Error Number 7) + I get Error Number 7.

Hello @pantarz, yes, give me your backup ROM you have in your phone, it should work on mine. I'm really thankful to see people like this these days. Just need the .zip file for the ROM. Thanks in advance.
Currently the only way for people who deleted their OS completely in this phone model X00HD/ZC520KL is to restore the official firmware.
You can ask for a backup recovery folder in XDA Forums ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-4-max/help?nocache=1) if you do not have made a backup. Hi @ANDROIDMASTER67, @pantarz I also break my phone ZC520KL ( X00HD ). It shows "no os installed" and "error 7" when I try to install a ROM.
Can you please help me fix my phone? If there is a backup that I can get please let me know.
Many thanks in advance.
I've managed to fix it by doing the following:
Copy the original recovery from a firmware package.
I could find one in the file https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11050483647474829889, location /Asus_Zenfone_4_Max_ZC520KL_20171225/Firmware/recovery.img
Load default recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery/original-recovery.img
Restart to bootloader
fastboot reboot bootloader
Load flashboot mode
choose the option "update using adb"
ensure that adb can locate devices with
adb devices
load firmware with
adb sideload UL-ASUS_X00HD-WW-14.2016.1805.374-user.zip ( try download from: https://www.beritahuaja.com/2018/11/download-stock-rom-asus-zenfone-4-max-zc520kl.html )
Easy way with only fastboot
1. Get adb and fastboot drivers
2. go to this page h ttps://addrom.com/raw-rom-for-asus-zenfone-4-max-zc520kl/ Dowload the original firware
3. Extract the files inside the your disc C:Adb
4. Go to your celphone and enter in fastboot mode... then conect the celphone to your computer ... then use cmd " fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" .. this is for restore the original recovery if you have twrp.. if you dont have it , its no neccesary ..
5. in fastboot mode , go to Inside the firware search flashall_AFT.bat , double clik , wait until finish
6. go to recovery mode wipe/factory reset and tadaaaa! Your Os is restore again :bueno:

I've managed to fix it by doing the following:
Copy the original recovery from a firmware package.
I could find one in the file https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11050483647474829889, location /Asus_Zenfone_4_Max_ZC520KL_20171225/Firmware/recovery.img
Load default recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery/original-recovery.img
Restart to bootloader
fastboot reboot bootloader
Load flashboot mode
choose the option "update using adb"
ensure that adb can locate devices with
adb devices
load firmware with
adb sideload UL-ASUS_X00HD-WW-14.2016.1805.374-user.zip ( try download from: https://www.beritahuaja.com/2018/11/download-stock-rom-asus-zenfone-4-max-zc520kl.html )

HELP "Your system has been destroyed"!!!

So I was trying to install a custom ROM (first time ) did unlock my bootloader and when wiped using twrp and then rebooted to twrp for flashing the ROM it said that system has been destroyed when I tried to reboot to recovery then also it was of no use.I tried to flash fastboot roms via miflash tool. The new versions couldnt find scripts o don't know why so I tried the old ones but the flash got completed in 1 second so it was useless.further more I think that I have anti rollback v2 in my phone and that's why I'm not able to go anywhere..
Is there any fix please help
Try to manual flash using fastboot
Fastboot flash system system.img
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Then flash EU rom

The same thing happened to me when I tried to install and use TWRP.
To fix this, I used the MiFlash tool and flashed the fastboot ROM which you can download from here.

I had the same issue, but my phone went to fastboot from there I flashed it, the process was simple :
1. Download the fastboot rom and extract it (I guess two times, the first extraction extracts a file, open that with some extraction tool and uzip again, there you will see the fw with certain folders and images etc ).
2. Download the adb/fastboot zip file I"ll attach that here, extract it to the same folder where your fw files are. (fw = firmware).
3. You will find 3 bat files, flash all, flash all and lock, flash except storage, choose flash all (execute it).
4. Once done, reboot to recovery (stock), do a data wipe again.
This worked for me, hope it does for you too.
try unlock bootloader via internet
format data once via twrp
