[Q] HTC One S 1.53.169.3 RUU (CID VODAP120) Austria - HTC One S

I'm searching for the original RUU for my branded HTC One S 1.53.169.3 with CID VODAP120. I semi-bricked it while trying to flash the vanilla modaco rom. I had a nandroid backup of my stock rom and reverted to stock. when the restore process was done i got a bootloop and couldn't mount /sdcard/ from cwm anymore. so i restored stock recovery over fastboot and relocked the bootloader and tryed to restore my device with the 1.53.401.2 unbranded RUU by editing the android_info.txt and adding my cid in the rom.zip but i am still getting error 132 (signature error) because there still isn't a possibility to s-off the one s. My only hope is to find the original branded One S RUU 1.53.169.3. I would be pleased if someone could upload the RUU. Thanks

its not possible to mount the sdcard in cwm. boot your phone in to recovery and
adb push yourrom.zip /sdcard
Try this rom: http://files.virtuousrom.com/ville/roms/Virtuous_Ville_v.1.4.0_PROPER.zip
maybe this will fix your bootloop. if not try this:
Start the RUU
- in windows type %TEMP%
- search for rom.zip
- extract it
- cmd to this folder
- fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
restart your phone. Maybe this helps!

i'm always getting device not found in adb shell. the boot_signed.img is already on the device. still stuck in boot

install the usb driver from android sdk

my htc drivers are installed and i've tried now a coupe of times to install the android usb drivers and i am always getting drivers not match message

also having red triangle in recovery. should i try to unlock bootloader and install cwm recovery and try adb again?

[HOWTO] HTC Explorer - Install RUU

Reason for this guide:
I have tried to go back to RUU and doing this with the RUU applications didn't work, the installation always failed. Because of that I was a bit afraid never to be able to get back to stock / RUU again
steps I did - i'm not sure if step 2 and 3 are necessary, but for me it worked like this
!!!DO NOT RELOCK the bootloader before Step 4 - this will brick your phone!!!
1. download RUU for your device here (check your radio at top the bootloader menu)
2. extract the RUU rom from RUU application
start the ruu application, even if it fails. also start the flashing process, nothing will happen here. search for the ruu logs, for me at c:\ruu_log. in the log (for me in line 191) is the path to the rom.zip that should get flashed. something in temp folder... for me the line looks like this:
"<T093343><DEBUG><CMD>fastboot -s HT1BMVMXYZ flash zip C:\users\raangu\AppData\Local\Temp\{1235}\{12345}\rom.zip</CMD></DEBUG></T093343>"
3. flash the needed images
in the rom.zip you will find a boot_signed.img, a system.img and a recovery_signed.img. flash all these images with fastboot.
In command line:
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
4. relock the bootloader
In command line:
fastboot oem lock
5. install with RUU application
now run the RUU application again and follow the instructions.
You are back on RUU now!
Thankyou

can u explain better this part...?? what does it mean "flash all these images with fastboot..??
P.S: i don't have any ROM.ZP file in my local\temp\ directory......only an empty directory....
What is your DeviceID?
I've the vodafone brand and the DevideID is "VODAP034".
I tried this guide to change ID but not work:

I've questions regarding to RUU, if I want to flash RUU other then my device's Radio version or flash older RUU then my device's stock Rom,

Hi agv983,
with "flash all these images with fastboot" I mean the lines below:
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
so you dont flash these things with cwm or something else. you do it with fastboot in command line.
did you take a look in the ruu_log? the path is written there.

try this instead
1. Download the RUU.
2. Open the RUU exe file, and proceed until you get to the page which says 'View Readme'. At that point, stop.
3. Go to your TEMP folder (on Windows 7 it'll be something like : C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp
4. Look for folders that have lots of characters in that format: "{XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXX}". One of the folders will contain two files, and another folder with the same "{XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXX}" format. Open that folder.
5. In there, you will see either rom.zip or firmware.zip (depending on the device).
It says when trying to flash system.img,, date length too large
help me please
help me please
i don't understand this step
---- 2. extract the RUU rom from RUU application----
where i can find the RUU application??
PS: my phone is: HTC EXPLORER with jaggyrom, and i'd return to my stock rom.
i've downloaded my stock rom following this discussion--- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569430
because your download link page wasn't running to me, but i think that roms are the same.
thnx
A total successful unrooting and reverting to stock
Warning dont flash any other rom before this step in order to retain factory status you have to maintain the default rom on which rooting was done
for those who want to revert to stock from jaggy or any other make a clockwork backup of your stock rom even if it is rooted
Step 1 : if you have messed up in previous posts by our friend dont be alarmed
make sure you have clockwork mod of your original rom backed up in sd card or in the computer copied from sd card
to do this go to the recovery option choose backup and restore in this select restore and select the backup you did with your stock rom
Step 2 : download these files ( also noted in my system the android sdk was in c drive root as c:\Android else make a fresh installation of the android sdk ) GIVEN BELOW AT THE END OF POST
Step 3 : on c drive paste these files in c:\Android ( if file not there in pc install sdk in this folder ) now open cmd from start menu
Step 4 : Execute commands
cd c:\Android
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
(fastbooting system .img mentioned in previous post is not required as it will conflict with the hboot and it too tiresome to get the sock back)
Final step : now with the stock boot and recovery of htc default signed just restart your cell phone and got to settings > storage >factory reset
Ta da your phone is unrooted now for the grand finale lock the HBOOT
execute command : fastboot oem lock
to lock the boot loader
now it will show relocked now at this stage if you got your factory default ruu matched with the software version of your phone in my case it was
V1.31.728.1
then flash that ruu and vola your phone is crystal clear no hboot relocked or no rooting ever shown.
Try it and press thanks if liked
I dont get this, sorry...
I have stock scandinavian rom on my Explorer, and I want to flash an european rom instead.
Ive go the European RUU, but for gods sake I cant get it installed...
I dont want to brick my girlfriends phone, its 1 month old, and I dont want to fiddle with too much.
Is there any way to simply flash the RUU with the bootloader?

[SOLVED]vBoot loops - No CID.

Today I Unlocked my Sensation with Hboot 1.18 via Revolutionary and flashed recovery...
Then I copied ARHD Firmware PGIMG32.zip latest package to SD card and Started Update... But it did some process , rebooted ones and entered bootloader agaon and gave CID error.. Then I read that I had to do SuperCID first...
Now I dont know what my CID is that I can put in firmware txt file...... Fastboot commands are not working... When I enter fastboot, Mobile is not being recognized but when I go into Recovery and Enter command adb devices, it shows the device serial number means connected but doesnt connect via fastboot...
I can go into recovery and flash ROM but when I flash Stock Old 2.3.5 GB ROM by EddyOS, it enters bootloop...
How should I resolve this Bootloop....

Then,go into the ROM .
To find your original cid:
Type
Code:
getprop ro.cid
in a terminal on your phone .
Then,use,Kohr-Ah's thread to update the firmware.

[Q] Unable to load Desire S rom from 4ext and RUU or .zip extract

Hi
I need to return my Desire S to stock as the radio connection to mast is broken. - I am stuck in recovery and cant load ROM
It was - open bootloader from HTC - 4ext Recovery - stock ICS HTC rom from the HTC site
RUU_SAGA_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_14.01.401.2_Radio_20.76.30.0835_3831.19.00.110_release_275068_signed.exe
==================================
I understood is I could reload the above then 4ext would be deleted and phone would be back to stock?
However I am having no luck loading a rom via 4ext or via RRU.
==================================
Presently phone will only load bootloader and 4EXT recovery. Android will not come up.
==================================
I have used 4ext to wipe and format, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format the SD card.
The SD card has two .zip roms extracted from RRUs %temp% directory (I CAN look at the zip files on WINDOWS using 7zip)
RRU2.zip = RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.9_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_234765_signed
RRU14.zip = RUU_SAGA_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_14.01.401.2_Radio_20.76.30.0835_3831.19.00.110_release_275068_signed
IF I TRY to load from SD card via 4EXT I get
Finding update package..
Opening update package..
E:Can't open /sdcard/RRU14.zip
(bad)
Instalation aborted
and the same for RRU2.zip
IF I put the phone is FASBOOT USB and use the RRU on the PC it fails - pulling out the USB cable I see
RRU <- is in orange color
Security Fail!
Update Fail!
================================================================
SO - how can I get the stock rom back on the phone and critically remove the 4EXT recovery?
Thanks for any help..
Dave
You have to relock your bootloader before installing an RUU.
Hi - that got the RRU to work thanks. Still had the SDK bits on the PC - Put usb into phone and Vol- Pwr brought it into Fastboot.
The used "Fastboot oem lock" from DOS prompt which locked the hboot - the the RRU then worked - job done.
4EXT has gone too.
Thanks

if your problem is nothing of the sort ( above mentioned )
try to extract the rom zip from the RUU,
-rename it to PG88IMG
-place it on your sdcard ( but do not place it in ny folder )
-reboot to bootloader, let it check for an update
and hopefuly install that...
there is also a fastboot command- in case of some trouble with bootloader checking
fastboot oem reboot ruu

[Q][Solved] All HTC ROMS stuck on HTC Logo, TWRP works.

Hey there!
I'm kinda stuck.
I've recently unlocked the bootloader with htcdev, installed TWRP recovery, and then tried to S-OFF my device with rumrunner. It said I didn't have the right ROM installed to be able to S-OFF so I decided to install another ROM.
So I decided to install this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2791725
(I put the .zip file on the phone, did a factory reset via TWRP, and installed it via TWRP, It said it was succesfully installed)
When I tried to reboot my phone it didn't get past the HTC logo.
I went back to TWRP and found out the /system folder was empty and OS wasn't installed for some reason.
So I tried to adb sideload another ROM, to maybe be able to install that ROM, but adb sideload won't get past the message:
Starting ADB sideload feature...
I tried to use the adb via cmd, but when I type in 'adb devices' it doesn't show up.
Sooo this is basically where I'm at atm, stuck with not being able to flash a ROM to the device, and only being able to get into TWRP because there is no OS installed.
Could it be a driver problem, and how could a be able to find my device again?
[Update 1]
While going into fastboot, and trying to 'fastboot devices' via cmd, it does work, and commands like 'fastboot reboot-bootloader' do work aswell.
Still adb doesn't work for me.
[Update 2]
I got the ADB Sideload to work, but after any ROM I install, it keeps hanging at the HTC Logo. Any thoughts on this?
[Update 3]
Ok, I've just found out that the non-HTC ROMS (like CM11, and Mokee) do work, and do boot, but the official HTC ROM, and the Insertcoin won't boot. (Get stuck @ HTC Logo). Maybe this helps to understand what the problem is?
While running the CM11 or Mokee ROM, the device doesn't get recognized by the PC so I won't be able to try to S-OFF the device using rumrunner again. I'm also not able to install .apk files so that means I have no SU acces?
[Update 4]
It seems the problem was I didn't used the boot.img from the roms, but a boot.img file that I already had inside of my fastboot folder. My mistake.
Installing the MagioROM made me use rumrunner to S-OFF and SuperCID after. I'm currently running the Official Stock 6 ROM now. Thanks for all the help!

Did you flash boot.img? Because you're S-on you have to.
Download Philz CWM touch recovery (this is the only recovery I've found which allows S-ON adb push/pull and mounting simultaneously
Download Magio R4
Download the adb universal drivers and install them
Go to fastboot, type
Code:
fastboot flash recovery /path/to/philz.img
reboot into recovery, type in cmd
Code:
adb devices
adb shell
mount data
exit
adb push /path/to/magioR4.zip /data/
[I](you should reboot here, in which case you'll
need to type[/I] "mount data" [I]again after adb shell,
but it's not really essential and should work anyway)[/I]
adb shell
mount /data /sdcard [I](creates a virtual sdcard)[/I]
flash your ROM in recovery just like you would normally (select .zip from sdcard) and boot up
run rumrunner again, it should work, if it doesn't, let me know and I'll come up with a workaround.
